No Image in Executable

I am having a problem getting an image to appear in the Image Display indicator on the front panel of a deployed executable. This is happening on the deployed PC not the development PC. I have installed the following items on the deployed PC:
LV 2011 RTE (LV 2011 was used to build the .exe)
8.6 NI Vision Acquisition (with activated license)
I know that the image is being retrieved from the camera because I can see the 3D plot of the image and I can also save the image to a file using the IMAQ Write File 2.vi. The front panel Image indicator is acting disabled and I clearly know it isn't. None of the ROI tools are selectable. I also added a front panel Error indicator immediately after IMAQ Array to Image.vi and there is no error. I have no proplem running the debug version. Is the 8.6 Vision too old for the LV2011? When I installed LV2011, it automatically updated my Vision Acquisition Software. Any thoughts?

Hi j.masse,
I think you're on the right track with the 8.6 Vision Acquisition Software being too old for the LabVIEW 2011 RTE. Version 8.6 of the Vision Acquisition Software contains NI-IMAQ 4.1, NI-IMAQdx 3.2, and NI-IMAQ I/O 2.2, all three of which are only supported up through LabVIEW 8.6. Below is a link to a KB that has a good chart describing which components of the Vision Acquisition Software are supported with each version of LabVIEW. If you upgrade to the latest version of the Vision Acquisition Software on your deployment computer, this should resolve your issue.

  • Need help with loading images in executable Jar

    Hi,
    I've developed an application using netbeans that needs to load and display images.
    I use netbeans Clean and Build function to create an executable Jar file. When I run the executable Jar file it runs fine but when I come to a section of the application that needs images it freezes and can't load the images.
    When I then return to netbeans the part of the program that did successfully run before Clean and Build doesn't work anymore and I get an error message saying Uncaught error fetching image:
    I use,
    URL url = getClass().getResource("images/image1.png");
    Image image1 = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(url);to load an image.
    Can someone tell me why, when I clean and build my project to create a JAR, my images fail to load.
    Should I be storing the images in a specific folder or something??
    Thanks

    I've opened the JAR using winzip and, for some reason, the JAR hasn't preserved my file structure. So, when I try to look for an image as follows:
    URL url = getClass().getResource("images/file1.png");
    Image img= Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(url);The folder doesn't exist and so it can't find the image.
    Can someone tell me how to keep my file structure when I create the JAR or an alternative way to find the images within the JAR file.
    Cheers

  • How can I turn off the preview (overview) automatically executed when I launch Image Capture?

    I love using Image Capture, but every time I launch it, it automatically does a previes of my scanner's flatbed.  Most of the time, I don't use the flatbed.  I use the feeder to scan multiple pages.
    My question is this:  Is there any way to turn off the automatic preview (overview) that Image Capture executes when it's launched?
    Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!

    Not a direct answer.
    From Image Capture Help:
    Scan pages with a document-feeding scanner
    When you scan a document with a document-feeding scanner, the same settings are used for all the pages in the feeder. If your pages need different settings (for example, some are grayscale and some are color), separate them into different groups.
    Before you begin these steps, you need to open your scanner. For instructions, see one of these help topics:
    Scan an image
    Scan an image with Image Capture
    Scan an image with Preview
    Place the pages in the scanner’s document feeder.
    Turn on the Use Document Feeder option, if it’s present.
    Set scanning options.You may need to click Show Details to see all the available options.Here are some of the options you can set. The options available to you depend on the scanner you’re using. Some options aren’t available on all scanners, and some scanners may have more options.
    To choose the type of image being scanned, use the Kind pop-up menu.Choose Text for black-and-white images with high contrast, such as text. Choose Black & White for grayscale images. Choose Color for color images.
    To scan both sides of a page, select Duplex.
    To choose a size for the scanned image, use the Size pop-up menu.
    To choose where to save the scanned images, use the Scan To pop-up menu.If you choose a folder, the images are stored in that folder. If you choose an app, the images are opened with that app.
    To adjust the colors or exposure of the scanned image, choose Manual from the Image Correction pop-up menu, and adjust the controls.If you don’t see the image correction controls, scroll down or make the Scanner window taller.
    Click Scan.The scanner scans the pages one by one.

  • How to insert image into table and to in Oracle 9i intermedia?

    Mr Lawrence,
    I want to ask something:
    I use Oracle 9i intermedia
    If i use this script:
    CREATE TABLE images (
    file_name VARCHAR2(100) NOT NULL,
    image ORDSYS.OrdImage
    then
    CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY imgdir AS 'd:/data';
    then
    INSERT INTO images (file_name, image)
    VALUES ('tree', ORDSYS.ORDImage.init('file','imgdir','tree.jpg' ));
    I put tree.jpg in directory d:/data in my hard drive.
    Is my tree.jpg file had already get in to my images table?
    I'm little confuse, because when i check my table with this script:
    select file_name, i.image.getWidth() from images i;
    it's show that my i.image.getWidth() for file_name tree is empty.. that mean my tree.jpg doesn't get in to my table.. am i correct?
    N also i want to ask how to display to screen all of my image from images table?
    Is it posible Oracle 9i intermedia to support display image from table?
    How?
    thanks Mr Lawrence

    -- First step would be to create a directory in oracle and map it to the folder where your image resides.
    create directory image_dir as *'c:\image_dir';*
    Then you would have to use a procedure to insert the image in your table. SO first create a table to hold the image. Note that you have to use a BLOB to insert the image.
    CREATE TABLE test_image
    ID NUMBER,
    image_filename VARCHAR2(50),
    image BLOB
    Now let's write the procedure to insert the image in the table above.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE insert_image_file (p_id NUMBER, p_image_name IN VARCHAR2)
    IS
    src_file BFILE;
    dst_file BLOB;
    lgh_file BINARY_INTEGER;
    BEGIN
    src_file := BFILENAME ('image_DIR', p_image_name);
    -- insert a NULL record to lock
    INSERT INTO temp_image
    (ID, image_name, image
    VALUES (p_id, p_image_name, EMPTY_BLOB ()
    RETURNING image
    INTO dst_file;
    -- lock record
    SELECT image
    INTO dst_file
    FROM temp_image
    WHERE ID = p_id AND image_name = p_image_name
    FOR UPDATE;
    -- open the file
    DBMS_LOB.fileopen (src_file, DBMS_LOB.file_readonly);
    -- determine length
    lgh_file := DBMS_LOB.getlength (src_file);
    -- read the file
    DBMS_LOB.loadfromfile (dst_file, src_file, lgh_file);
    -- update the blob field
    UPDATE temp_image
    SET image = dst_file
    WHERE ID = p_id AND image_name = p_image_name;
    -- close file
    DBMS_LOB.fileclose (src_file);
    END insert_image_file;
    Now execute the procedure to insert the image.
    EXECUTE insert_image_file(1,'test_image.jpg');
    Thanks,
    Aparna

  • Can I run a third party executable from LabView?

    I have a third party image sensor executable. Is it possible to start this executable from a LabView VI? I know that you can run a dll from LabView. I was wondering if you can do the same with a standard .exe file.

    Yes, you can use the "System Exec.vi", located in different spots depending on which version you're using.
    It acts as a command line interface - essentially the same as if you run CMD.
    Search for it in the help if you can't find it in your palette.

  • Very URGENT - Image upload

    I am using Lotus Domino server as the HTTP Server and WebSphere as the Application Server. I am trying to upload some files. I am able to upload text files but not images. Why? What and where could the problem be? Solution is required ASAP.
    Thanks in advance.

    If the image uploads but is not visible (it's size is correct but some bytes are altered) this is probably because you use a FileWriter object. The class is usefull for charater files but not for binary files (such as images or executables). You should try to use a FileOutputStream object.
    If the image doesn't upload at all... then you probably are somehow specifing that the file type is not allowed for the upload.

  • Send Image

    Hi to everyone
    I would like to create the .gif file only when the "Send" button is clicked. However the .gif file is created when I run this class.
    Is there any way to solve this problem to the way I want?
    Any help will be appreciated. Thank You!
    Client.java
    public Client(String host, int port){
           initSocket(host, port);
    protected void initSocket(String host, int port)
                 try{
                    toHost = new Socket(host, port); //1
               catch (UnknownHostException uhe)
                    System.err.println("Unknown host in initSocket()"+ uhe.getMessage());
               catch (IOException ioe)
                    System.err.println("IO error in initSocket()" + ioe.getMessage());
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
    if(e.getSource() == butSend)
                   sendObject(buffImage);
    protected void sendObject(BufferedImage buffImage)
            try{
         ImageIcon imgIcon = new ImageIcon(buffImage);
         FileOutputStream fout = new FileOutputStream("image.gif");
         ObjectOutputStream oout = new ObjectOutputStream(fout);
         System.out.println(imgIcon);
         oout.writeObject(imgIcon);
                    oout.close();
               }catch(IOException e){
                    System.out.println("Sending failed " + e);
                    System.exit(1);
          }

    Correct me if I misunderstood your meaning. Do you
    mean putting the initSocket method at the
    actionPerformed(), instead the constuctor. Is that
    what you mean?No. The name initSocket implies that the method's responsible for initializing a socket. So why does it create and sent an image? Especially considered that the image is supposed to be sent on the press of a button (which is handled in the ActionListener's actionPerformed() method). Your image code executes at the wrong moment because it's called at the wrong moment.

    SpryMenuBar.js
    This file handles the JavaScript for Spry Menu Bar.  You should have no need
    to edit this file.  Some highlights of the MenuBar object is that timers are
    used to keep submenus from showing up until the user has hovered over the parent
    menu item for some time, as well as a timer for when they leave a submenu to keep
    showing that submenu until the timer fires.

  • Javascript problem on Mac OS 10.7.3 w/Safari 5.1.5

    I've seen this problem going back on the forums to 2010, but no solution as far as I can tell.
    I have an i7 27" iMac running 10.7.3 with Safari 5.1.5. This problem just presented itself upon updating to Safari 5.1.5. This also happens with Firefox.
    I am building a website using Dreamweaver CS5.5. I have been using DW on Mac for around almost 10 years. The site I am building is nothing fancy, straight HTML. I implemented a simple menu with rollover images, the same type I have been using for years with no problem. When I mouse over them, the Javascript that does the image swapping does not execute. The rollover images do not appear, the links do not become active, nothing. It's as though they were just static images on the page. I have checked all the obvious things in Safari preferences, making sure java is active, enable plug-ins, enable Java, enable Java script. All checked. Pop-up blocking is off. No joy. Same problem occurs on Firefox.
    When I load the site in Internet Explorer on a Windows 7 machine, everything works fine. When I run Windows 7 in VMWare on my iMac and load the site in IE in that environment everything works fine. Strange that I'm using a Mac to build a website that only works in Windows and IE.
    Any thoughts on this one?
    Thanks!
    Brad

    Linc,
    I have submitted a bug report to Adobe also. I wanted to see who would begin denying it was thier problem first.
    Also, excuse me, but image rollovers execute with javascript. Note the code below:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0
      var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++) x.src=x.oSrc;
    function MM_preloadImages() { //v3.0
      var d=document; if(d.images){ if(!d.MM_p) d.MM_p=new Array();
        var i,j=d.MM_p.length,a=MM_preloadImages.arguments; for(i=0; i<a.length; i++)
        if (a[i].indexOf("#")!=0){ d.MM_p[j]=new Image; d.MM_p[j++].src=a[i];}}
    etc., etc., etc.
    That looks like javascript to me.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Table QBE-Filter BUG in combination with Application Module Pooling ?

    Hi,
    i use JDEVADF_11.1.1.1.0_GENERIC_090615.0017.5407, Java 1.6.0_14, ADF BC and ADF Faces.
    I have one View Object, one Page with a panelCollection and a table with option filtering (create via drag-and-drop from datacontrol).
    When I disable the application module pooling on the AM configuration and run the application, i can execute the query-by-example filter, but when I delete the filterCriteria and press enter (requerry for select all) the table shows the old data.
    Image for setting on application module:
    http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/1374/filterdoesnotwork1.png
    Image for execute querry and requerry for "all rows" (deleted filterCriteria)
    http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/1963/filterdoesnotwork2.png
    When I enable application module pooling all works fine. Is this a issue?
    kind regards

    Hi Frank,
    if I filter for employees which firstname starts with "D" and then for employees with "F" --> i see "No data to display.".
    So uncheck "Enable Application Module Pooling" on application module doesn't work with QBE-Filter ?
    I can send a testcase but it is so simple you can create it with jdeveloper in 2 minutes ;)

  • Recovery partition with no recovery

    Hello,
    My customer's laptop (Compaq Presario CQ58 - hopefully it's good place to ask that question) had some issues with hard drive, so I replace it with bigger one. I've cloned all partition trying to save 3 other sizes (Compaq specific ones: first, probably Windows-installator-100MB, third - recovery and fourth-some-software) exact, so only C partition has been expanded. Because it was at-customer-home fix, I haven't done it exactly by sectors position, but simply by size given in cloning software input fields. Software used - WD's edition of Acronis True Image.
    So drive has been cloned and starts fine. Recovery option during bootsrap (F10 tapping) is available and loaded HP menu is present, but recovery option there is inactive. Like some file or sector pointer is missing. Standard Windows recovery points are available only.
    Question is - how to recreate proper *whole drive recovery* option to that system ?
    I've done additional sector-by-sector backup of those 3 partitions from old drive, so I think if I restore them by brute force now - recovery should work fine then (if MBR has not been treated by HP some strange way). But is there another option ? I don't know recovery partition general-format, so it's why I'm asking the source
    Thank you for any clues.

    The simplest method is to use the usb recovery media to perform a factory image recovery to the new hard disk.
    The factory image recovery executed from recovery media will create all required partitions, including a fresh recovery partition, and enable the HP recovery manager to operate as expected from within Windows or from an F11 keystroke on powering up.
    Copy all important data, documents , photos and videos to external storage before you begin. The factory image recovery will delet all partitions that are currently on the hard disk.
    Of course, the unfortunate downside is that you will have to reinstall the programs and utilities that you have already installed to the new drive.

    After I get the error message "Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I proceeded to use the Regedit solution but the file was not inside the Image File Executable Options folder. The only file inside of there was iexplorer.exe.
