No Keynote 5.0.5 for PPC?

Just checking, No Keynote upgrade to 5.0.5 for PPC Mac? Upgrade to 5.0.5 for Numbers and Pages successful. 10.5.8 Power Mac FW 800. Keynote remains at 5.0.4. Intel MBP upgrades to 5.0.5.

I've installed the iWork upgrade on my G4 Al powerbook and my Keynote is at 5.0.5 (942). Did you upgrade via Software Update or download directly from Apple? I went with Software Update, I’m not sure if there is a direct download from Apple available yet, but you might want to check and reapply the upgrade. Haven't checked Pages and Numbers yet.

  • Issue with Surveys/Checklist in SAP Sservice Manager 4.0 for PPC Platform

    Hi All,
I am working with SAP Service Manager 4.0 application . I was checking the Surveys functionality in the standard application and came to know that the surveys functionality is not available in PPC platform.
However it is present for Iphone/Ipad platforms.
After a detailed check I found that the button which initiates the survey List screens are available in iphone/ipad but not in PPC . where as the Surveys List screens is available for all the 3 platforms iphone/ ipad / PPC .
Is this a issue in the standard application or the Surveys is not included for PPC platform.
    Please clarify
    Thanks and Regards
    Neha Mahanty

The surveys functionality was not included for PPC platform in the Service Manager 4.0 release.  There was I beleive a technical issue that prevented it from being included.  It may be included in a future release.

  • I bought "Pages" "Keynote" and "Numbers" Apps for my iPad and iPhone

I bought "Pages" "Keynote" and "Numbers" Apps for my iPad and iPhone and now I have a new iMac but the Apps didn't install? I thought when you bought an App that is on one device it would be available on all other devices? The App store is now wanting me to pay for the Apps again? Is this right? Do I have to buy another  version of these Apps for the iMac?

That is determined by what type of disk that it is. It may be a disk that only allows you to install Windows on your Dell computer and would not allow Windows to be installed on a Boot Camp partitition or as a virtual machine in an app such as VirtualBox on your Mac. If that is the case, you would need to purchase a retail Windows install disk.

  • My Fix for PPC Mac flash download

I tried every suggestion people made on this forum to correct
the Flash Player download issue for PPC MAC and separately nothing
worked. I was finally able to put it all together to get the
download to work. Here is what I did step by step. I really hope it
    helps some of you.
    1.) Download Flash uninstaller
2.) Save the uninstaller program to the desktop by dragging
    and dropping
    3.) Run uninstall program
4.) Send everything adobe flash to the trash
5.) Go to Library then internet plug ins and delete any file
that has to do with Adobe Flash, EMPTY TRASH
6.) Open Quicktime, select Quick TIme Preferences, select the
advanced tab, click on MIME settings.
7.) Click the triangle next to Images and deselect Flashpix
image. Then select the triangle next to miscellaneous and deselect
    flash media
    8.)Select Applications, Utilities, Dish utility
9.) Select a disk at the left and then select First Aid and
then Repair Disk permissions. Do this with every disk on the left
    hand side.
    10.) Restart you computer
    11.) Download adobe Flash installer
12.) Drag and drop installer icon to the desk top
13.) Close ALL applications and Browsers
    14.) Run the install
    15.) Restart computer

Thanks - I will give it a try ....again.

  • Flash Player 8 for PPC

Why isn't there a Macromedia Flash Player version 8
compatible for the PPC? YouTube use version 8 for it's FLV content
and my Audivox 6700 is plenty fast enough to play the video and my
network is plenty fast enough to stream the content. Now I see ads
for the iPhone showing YouTube playing on that little media darling
and I am wondering now whether Adobe is not releasing a player
compatible with YouTube on purpose. It's been over a year now there
is no excuse for this delay.

    > Hi, Have been using flash player 7 on my ppc but the
    video quality is
    > really
    > bad as it does not use the ON2VP6 codec. Also one cant
    see youtube coz it
    > requires flash player 8. When is the Flash player 8 for
    ppc releasing.
I think Adobe has moved away from Flash Player versions for
    Pocket PC, and
is instead concentrating on Flash Lite for PocketPC. So I
    don't expect to
ever see Flash Player 8 for PocketPC. Look instead for Flash
    Lite updates,
applicable to later versions of PocketPC OS - maybe WM 5 and
    6 or later, at
    a guess.

  • JVM for PPC

I dont know is this the right place for it but I have to ask. I'm in need for Java 1.4 for Linux on PPC, but it seems to me that nobody is doing the porting(in fact I'm sure). www.blackdown.org was doing the porting of java on other platforms, but they will not do this. So because I and my friend are willing to do this port for PPC could anybody give me a hint who to ask for this. Please any kind of information would help!

    do a search at www.ibm.com.

  • OS X 10.4.11 and Safari 3.04 for PPC--What Happened to My Bookmarks?

I have tried everything with the new Combo Updater to 10.4.11 for PPC but I can't get my Safari 3.04 to keep any Bookmarks. I eliminated AcidSearch 0.62 and Safari Extender 1.6.6--neither of which works yet with 10.4.11 and Safari 3.04 for PPC--but even when I import my Bookmarks from a copy on my external hard drive, even when I replace the username/Library/Safari/bookmarks.plst and the username/Library/preferences/com.apple.Safari.plst, even when I try the stand-alone download for the updater instead of the Software Update method, none of it seems to make any difference. I can't keep any Bookmarks. Does anybody out there have any other suggestions?

    Hi Mark,
I looked at my YourUsername/Library/Input Managers and saw 1PasswdIM but have not heard anyone else giving that as a problem. Could this be the issue?
I must admit I haven't heard of it causing problems so far as well (and can't see an immediate connection to your problem) but I would try moving 1PasswdIM onto your Desktop to temporarily disable it. Restart Safari to make it pick up this change.
I can't imagine deleting all of those just to get my Safari bookmarks to work.
Me neither. Sorry, I forgot lots of other apps add temporary information into there as well. Some of the Safari helpers add information here as well - skip the Application Support folders for the moment though.
/Library/Input Managers, I have Chax, Ecamm, and SIMBL (whatever that is).
SIMBL is used by many developers to allow Safari input managers to work correctly. As before, move the contents of this folder to your Desktop and restart Safari.
With both the Input Managers empty, does Safari handle the bookmarks correctly now?
Let us know how you get on.

  • Getting ahold of MacOS X 10.4 for PPC

I am running a G5 (PPC) on MacOS 10.3.9 and one of its applications no longer supports this OS - so I will have to upgrade to MacOS X 10.4 for PPC - Where can I get such an exotic piece of software cheaply? There are plenty of Tiger 10.4s for sale used - but they seem to be mostly for Intel mchines. I have Leapard installed on an ext-drive but the PPC architecture doesn't recognise the Intel drive.

Tiger install DVDs are in short supply. Tiger is no longer available at the Apple Store but is still available for $129 by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753). For other sources, do a Google search for MA453Z/A and M9639Z/A . Also look on eBay. Be sure & buy a retail version (black with silver X) and not a model specific version (gray). The eBay auctions usually end at a price higher than $129.

  • Why can't I get Keynotes Pages and Numbers for free after OS Mavericks 10.9.1 Upgrade?

I bought my Macbook Air a few days ago with the OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 update software already installed on my laptop. I'm suppose to get Keynotes, Pages, and Numbers for free under purchases in my app store but unfortunately I haven't seen any of those programs come as a purchase in my store. I've downloaded the OS Mavericks 10.9.1 software three times already and restarted my computer to see if they come in the mac store but nothing happened. I've also applied for the Up to Date program and they said they would contact me in 24 hours but it has been three days and I still haven't got a reply from them.

If you purchased a qualifying Mac on or after October 1, 2013, that did not include Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, you can download them free by following these steps: http://www.apple.com/creativity-apps/mac/up-to-date/

  • AE CS3 not for PPC!!!

HI, i want hereby to express my disappointment about the performance of AE CS3 on PPC macs.
I have a Quad G5 (2,5Ghz) with 4.5 Gb RAM that worked very well with AE 7. Now that i use AE CS3, as soon as i render (even a simple comp with sequenced photos, it slows down the whole machine INCREDIBLY.... What's this Adobe? Am i the only one in this situation? Am i doing smthg wrong?
It really seems cs3 version was written for Intel and NOT for PPC. It's a bit of a scandalous issue, i think...
Can i get some fee back...?
    Thx
    Federico

Yes... right about the last Intel macs... that is kinda logical...Luckily they are faster than G5...!
About upgrading my hardware... well, sure, it's always the solution.. but that's what i find a bit rude, since my Quad hasn't 2 years yet... So, what's the solution: spend 3000 every 2 years...? + of course a new laptop as well, so a nice 6000 biennial...? hmm.. not in my financial possibilities...
Finally, i must say that i have the same G4 Pbook as mentionned above and CS3 runs quite ok, not killing my workflow... I have Leopard on it, Tiger on the Quad... maybe an issue... but still, the Quad works bloody well with AE 7... so, HW is ok... just not adapted to the new softwares... (or is it the opposite... :-) )
I rmber anyway the years i enjoyed pretty well my G4 MP 450Mhz between 2000 and 2004... The good old times, when Apple was doing a lot for pros and quite less for the whole family and pets...
Of course, don't take me wrong, i love the macs, own 3, advise them all the time, teach all their majors softwares... and surely will even buy a iPhone when 3g...
    thx for the answers anyway!

  • Is Keynote a good choice for this kind of video presentation?

Can Keynote easily be set up and used for the presenter to work from a slide table mode with both names (as well as numbers) and good-size customizable thumbnails of the visual material, primarily videos, which can be clicked on so as to play for the audience, on a projector (second monitor), each clip? This would allow nonlinear access to the videos, and spur-of-the-moment changes of order. I would use Final Cut Pro for the presentations, but this will not be available in many venues. I understand the current iMovie does not have a timeline, so it will be less than ideal. Is Keynote a good choice for this? If not, what would be?

I have I work 09 (newest version 5.0.2) and the presenter window only shows the next slide.
I have never had a need for a multi-slide view, because my presentations are all developed for education and are in a pre-determined order.
I can clearly see that this "pick a slide" feature could be quite useful when engaged in a conversational presentation rather than a seminar or classroom format that I use.
To change the order you would have to flip from multi-slide or disengage the program and choose a slide from the builder/creator menu. (Basically stop the presentation and that could be awkward)
If I am missing something, someone pipe in, I opened a presentation and was only able to get "next slide" up on the presenter menu.

  • Does 10.4.6 have two different install CDs for PPC vs Intel?

Does 10.4.6 have two different install CDs for PPC and Intel?
Also, is only CD 1 required for OS install?
    Thanks!

I tried my black OS X 10.4.6 CDs on a G4 yesterday specifically to see if an install from disk 1 only is possible. Sadly it is not. It requires about 400 GB from disk 2 no matter how minimal you try to make it. My disk 2 contains the following and the install needs everything except languages:
    AdditionalEssentials.pkg
    AdditionalSpeechVoices.pkg
    AddressBook.pkg
    Automator.pkg
    BrazilianPortuguese.pkg
    BSD.pkg
    Danish.pkg
    Dutch.pkg
    Finnish.pkg
    French.pkg
    German.pkg
    iCal.pkg
    iChat.pkg
    Italian.pkg
    iTunes.pkg
    Japanese.pkg
    Java.pkg
    Korean.pkg
    Mail.pkg
    MediaFiles.pkg
    MigrationAssistant.pkg
    Norwegian.pkg
    OxfordDictionaries.pkg
    Safari.pkg
    SimplifiedChinese.pkg
    Spanish.pkg

Have you considered upgrading to Leopard? Here is my general upgrading advoce:
    OS numbers and names
    OS X 10.4.x - Tiger
    OS X 10.5.x - Leopard
    OS X 10.6.x - Snow Leopard
    OS X 10.7.x - Lion
    OS X 10.8.x - Mountain Lion

The Apple History site has specifications for every Mac ever produced: http://www.apple-history.com/
    Upgrade to Leopard
Those wishing to upgrade to Leopard should be aware that install disks can be expensive unless you contact Apple. Details: http://lowendmac.com/deals/best-os-x-leopard-prices.html Standard Leopard installers impose several hardware limitations including speed and RAM size but all these restrictions can be overcome. Google for details. Leopard works well at 500 MHz with 1 GB of RAM and many happy users have less than this.
    Upgrade beyond Leopard
OSs beyond OS X 10.5.8 require an Intel processor. If in doubt check this: Click the apple at the top left of your screen and select 'About this Mac'. This will give you your OS number. Then click 'More Info' to see which processor you have. If it says PowerPC you cannot upgrade to Snow Leopard and above. If you have an Intel Mac it is well worth upgrading to Snow Leopard now and then considering other options after that. You can buy Snow Leopard here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A
    Upgrade beyond Snow Leopard
Information about upgrading Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256Z/A
    Important
Check that your Mac complies with any requirements. If you are not in the US you should use the Change Country link at the bottom of Apple pages.

  • Scanner for PPC apps on Intel machine?

I just migrated from my PPC powerbook to a new Intel macbook. I have A TON of applications, many of which are still PPC versions that may now have universal versions. Is there an application that will scan my system and tell me which apps are PPC? I have VersionTracker Pro - but it doesn't have a function to quickly see this information. And, Activity Monitor only shows apps that are running...
    Thanks!

    HI Nova,
This could be a tad time consuming but after Googling for the type of utility you need (and came up with zip).. how about using the Mac color label system?
    * Create new folders in your home folder or on your desktop and organize items into categories and subcategories. To color code items, select the item you want in a Finder window, then choose a Color Label from the File menu. You can customize color label names in Finder Preferences.
Go through your apps and do the Get Info routine to see whether PPC or Intel. Use a color code system for each. Say Aqua for PPC and Grey for Intel.
    This is really good question!!!
If I come across anything related to your issue I'll post back.
