No more smooth/corner option when joining endpoints in CS5?

OK, I've looked around for the answer. Where did the smooth/corner dialog box go in CS5? Yes, my points are aligned.
Thanks

There are two updates related to Join functionality in CS5.
1. There is a new functionality to join two anchor points of same or different paths by using Cmd/Ctrl+J. You don't even need to select the anchor points - just select the path in full and press Cmd/Ctrl+J. The closest anchor points are detected and joined. A second press of Cmd/Ctrl+J would join the remaining ends. Example:
To join the anchor points of your choice, just select those anchor points and press Cmd/Ctrl+J. Example:
2. The earlier shortcut to join two overlapping anchor points is different in CS5. It used to be Cmd/Ctrl+J, but now it is Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Opt/Alt+J. The method remains the same i.e. the two anchor point have to be overlapping and selected.
Hope this helps.

  • Corner options for line in InDesign CS5 js

    Hi, with CS5 update I am getting an error message the 'object  doesn't support property of the method cornerOptions' when I use code from CS4:
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite = myDoc.graphicLines.add (myDoc.layers.item ("Die"));
    var myPathPoint = myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.paths.item(0).pathPoints.add (myDoc.layers.item ("Die"));
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.cornerOption = CornerOptions.ROUNDED_CORNER;
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.cornerRadius = myRadius;
    I am not sure what I can use instead.
    Thank you for your help.

    Ok, here is how far I got with it, but it's not working:
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite = myDoc.graphicLines.add (myDoc.layers.item ("Die"));
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.geometricBounds = [myPageHeight/2+.0625, 0, myPageHeight-.25,  0];
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.strokeColor = myDoc.colors.item("Black");
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.strokeWeight = "2pt";
    var myPathPoint = myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.paths.item(0).pathPoints.add (myDoc.layers.item ("Die"));
    myPathPoint.anchor = [".25 in", myPageHeight];
    var myPathPoint = myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.paths.item(0).pathPoints.add (myDoc.layers.item ("Die"));
    myPathPoint.anchor = [myPageWidth/2-.0625, myPageHeight];
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.paths[0].pathPoints[0].pointType.CORNER(CornerOptions.bottomLeftCornerOption = CornerOptions.ROUNDED_CORNER);
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.bottomLeftCornerRadius = myRadius;
    or maybe:
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.paths[0].pathPoints[0].pointType.CORNER.cornerOptions.bottomLeftCornerOption = CornerOptions.ROUNDED_CORNER;
    It works up to the point:
    myRoundCornerLeftBottomVerticalWhite.paths[0].pathPoints[0].pointType;
    The rest I am not sure how to connect.
    Thank you for your help.

    I have FF and win7. Fonts turn to weird characters at more then 75% zoom when the checkbox "allow webpages to choose their own fonts" in the contents option > advanced is checked, when forced to calibri this behaviour doesnt occur
    An aexample of that is the product title on the product of this website:
    https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=2424553
    While switching to double check this I just saw that this also happens in this very window in wich i am typing my question now. If i copy and paste this text to for example notepad or anything else, it shows up like normal text.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == i installed firefox on win 7

    This issue can be caused by the bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or another (bitmap) font that can't be displayed by Firefox in that font size.
    Firefox can't display that font in the specified size and displays gibberish instead.
    You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
    Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or find a True type version of that font that doesn't have the problem.

  • Network or database calls are made when joining more than one table

    Hi Friends,
    could anybody please let me know how may networks are called when joining more than one table.
    Thanks
    Rinky

    Hi Rinky,
      Normally when a JOIN between two database tables is made then following steps occur:-
    1) The control goes to database. Based on the JOINING and WHERE condition, an internal table is created in the DATABASE only which is filled. So here the computation is done at DATABASE level.
    2) Once the internal table is filled at database level, it is sent back to the application level.
    A Join operation normally minimizes the round trips to the database as most of the computation is done at database level only and results sent back to the Application layer.
    <b>Thus for a simple JOIN OPERATION makes a single DATABASE call.</b>
    NOTE: If you are satisfied with the explanation, then please reward points
               accordingly :).
    Thanks and regards,
    Ravi .

  • I uninstalled bootcamp but when my MacBook Pro starts up, I still have to press "alt/option" when the screen goes grey. Otherwise, a black windows screen pops up. What am I doing wrong?

    At one point in time, I believe I had attempted to install bootcamp on my MacBook Pro. My university support center said that I had to press "alt/option" when starting up everytime, otherwise it would be a black windows screen and I had no idea where to go from there. (So I never was able to fully utilize the Bootcamp application. Unfortunately, even after I uninstalled bootcamp, this is still happening. How do I fix this? Thank you.

    You should have asked us and looked at 10 posts a week -- same as yours.
    OS X: System Preferences: Startup Disk control panel
    Set and done!
    x = Mac OS X on startup also
    And no to needing to hit Option every time. Obviously they never actually booted and used Mac.
    All it was is the startup parameter was saved and still set to look for a partition that does not exist and got lost.
    ZAP PRAM is also helpful but you would still use Startup Disk.

  • Corner options disappear in PDF

    I have corner options on some textboxes in a book I'm designing, but when I create a PDF [PDF/X-4:2008] the effects disappear and the box just become a regular rectangle. Why does this happen?

    Sounds like maybe you have CS3 and were using the button tool? You can apply corner effects to a frame and they ought to export just fine. As far as I know, the only difference between an object drawn with the frame tools and one drawn with the shape tools is frames always revert ro no stroke or fill (and no object style) and expect to have an image as content, while shapes can have strokes and fills by default, or an object style, and expect to have no content. Either can have anything placed inside.

  • Snow Leopard, iPhoto, Mail - loss of image size option when mailing photos

    I just installed Snow Leopard on both my laptop and my desktop. Now I have lost one of the size options when I email images directly from iPhoto. This is a big problem for me, as I have the need to send photos out to colleagues for their review several times per week. Before the new OS, I could choose (from within iPhoto or from within Mail) from these options: small, medium, large, and full-size. "Large" was the choice that almost always worked best for me. Now an image is medium-sized no matter whether you choose medium or large. Small and full-size still work.
    If I add images to a mail using the photo browser in Mail (which is less convenient for me anyway), then I lose the titles and descriptions I have added to those images in iPhoto. Not good.
    Is there a setting I can change, or is this a bug, or what?
    Help.
    Marion

    Ernie,
    It's not the the image size buttons are not available. They are. It's that they don't work correctly. From within iPhoto: choosing "small" gives me a small image; choosing "medium" gives me a medium image; choosing "large" also gives me a medium image; choosing "full" gives me a full-size image. So, there are four buttons, but only three sizes. I need large, and it's the one that's not working.
    I am currently experimenting with your export-attach suggestion, and the results are very messy indeed as well as inconsistent. If I export an image as .jpeg and as full-size, and then attach them to a mail, the first problem is that I lose all the titles and descriptions, even though I have chosen to export them. In the past, all the images lined up neatly in the body of the message with titles underneath each one; now the images are all "stuck together" and you must mouse over to get the title info. Thus you can see this info for only one image at a time - inconvenient for my colleagues.
    The second problem is that, the size option buttons work for some images and not for others. I tried attaching three files of different sizes: 2.7MB, 5.2MB, and 6.2MB. All four size buttons work for the two larger files, but, once again "medium" and "large" choices both result in the same size image, "medium."
    Even if the export-attach option worked correctly, it would involve many more steps and much more time than my former method of sending direct from iPhoto.
    I have not upgraded to iLife9. Perhaps the problem has been corrected in it. I was holding out for iLife10, but might go ahead with 9 if I could be assured it would work. This is really a huge problem for me.
    Thanks,
    Marion

    Ios7 no call decline option when its locked battert drains fast music is not able to controlled through headset unless the music app is open  please fix these bugs

    if they are unable to update all languages in a normal time gap (it is now 6 months ago they released firmware 4.22 for the first product code (actually mine and maybe a few others)), they should not offer those many versions. the huge bug with out of memory in nokia navigator with firmware 3.58 is not fixed yet for those people. really absolutely not acceptable.
    besides that, currently my phone is in a nokia service center, microphone doesnt work anymore (the one who i call just hears a very loud noise). my brother got the same phone, his one is in nokia service center since 2 weeks now, because it doesnt charge anymore as there seems to be a connection broken inside the phone).
    well that will be fun if the phone returns (approximately 4 weeks), as I guess the phones will have new IMEIs as they will send 2 new phones and not fix the problem (would cost them more). but as i got a western europe with nordics-map licence locked to the imei, the next problem will be there after I get a nokia 6110navi with another IMEI back. i get really upset with this really slow support.

  • How to prevent Oracle from using an index when joining two tables ...

    How to prevent Oracle from using an index when joining two tables to get an inline view which is used in an update statement?
    O.K. I think I have to explain what I mean:
    When joining two tables which have many entries sometimes it es better not to use an index on the column used as join criteria.
    I have two tables: table A and table B.
    Table A has 4.000.000 entries and table B has 700.000 entries.
    I have a join of both tables with a numeric column as join criteria.
    There is an index on this column in table A.
    So I instead of
      where (A.col = B.col)I want to use
      where (A.col+0 = B.col)in order to prevent Oracle from using the index.
    When I use the join in a select statement it works.
    But when I use the join as inline view in an update statement I get the error ORA-01779.
    When I remove the "+0" the update statement works. (The column col is unique in table B).
    Any ideas why this happens?
    Thank you very much in advance for any help.
    Regards Hartmut

    I think you should post an properly formatted explain plan output using DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY including the "Predicate Information" section below the plan to provide more details regarding your query resp. update statement. Please use the \[code\] and \[code\] tags to enhance readability of the output provided:
    In SQL*Plus:
    SET LINESIZE 130
    EXPLAIN PLAN FOR <your statement>;
    SELECT * FROM TABLE(DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY);Usually if you're using the CBO (cost based optimizer) and have reasonable statistics gathered on the database objects used the optimizer should be able to determine if it is better to use the existing index or not.
    Things look different if you don't have statistics, you have outdated/wrong statistics or deliberately still use the RBO (rule based optimizer). In this case you would have to use other means to prevent the index usage, the most obvious would be the already mentioned NO_INDEX or FULL hint.
    But I strongly recommend to check in first place why the optimizer apparently seems to choose an inappropriate index access path.

  • Default Print Options when issuing output

    Dear Experts:
    I came across a issue regarding print options when issuing output from the billing document.
    my first question is, this default print options seems to be coming from my output record as for print immediately option. where does Recipient come from?
    my second question is, is it possible that I make the "print immediately"  option default by user own settings in SU3?
    Thanks in advance.

    The recipient normally is the person which is logged in, during the NAST-Entry is saved.
    I know, there are several options available in the customizing, but I'm really not sure, so perhaps you can work through the official help located here:
    Output Determination (SD-BF-OC) - SAP Library
    The "print immediately"  option cannot be set to the user-parameters via customizing. I think you have to use a userexit in the messaging to put some lines in there to make this work, but also please work through the official documentation.
    If you doesn't find a solution, I think this space match better for such a question:

    Here in Output Management is more the developing view located, sry.

    Hello Carney10,
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    When you say you do not have the setup option for Family Sharing, that seems like you log into the iCloud System Preference but the "Set Up Family" button is not there.
    Is your Mac updated to Yosemite?

  • Resolution Issues in Jpeg Options when Saving

    Hi, I am suddenly experiencing an issue when saving Jpeg files in photoshop CS4. I work on hundreds of files at a time. I open the Jpeg photo, edit it and when ready hit 'save' and 'return' to accept the settings which are usually set by default to 12. But recently Photoshop is randomly selecting a lower compression in the Jpeg options when saving. It is only on a few random images though. If I open the original, re-edit the image and save it again, then it usually saves at 12 on the second attempt which is even more strange... Can I lock the settings to by default save all files at level 12 to avoid having to re-edit the shots I happen to miss spotting the change in compression on?
    And doesn anyone know what would prompt photoshop to suddenly save certain images in a lower res automatically? I am wasting hours re-editing and double checking files which is very frustrating. Please help!!
    Thank you in advance for any asdvice.

    Hi Mark, thanks for your reply but the images I'm working on are all shot with the same settings and exported out of iPhoto with the same settings before imported into Photoshop for editing. So they haven't yet been saved in Photoshop. My problem is when I save the file after editing, photoshop is automatically selecting 0 Jpeg image quality rather than 12, which is what it generally selects, except now on these few select images? It's all a bit bizarre because I have used this method for 4 years and now all of a sudden I am having this problem. I assumed I had hit a shortcut somewhere and adjusted the parameters unintentionally. It's rather hard to explain  but I hope that makes more sense. Thanks again to anyone who can help, I'm deseperate to get to the bottom of this....

  • Bad exec plan when joining tables using primary keys together w/ Contains

    Hello all...this is something that confuzzles me....
    When joining 2 tables, the exec plan shows that the domain index is first accessed, before checking if there is a record in the other table using a highly selective index.
    create table users
    (userid varchar2(20),
    name varchar2(100),
    resume clob
    create table seeker
    (seekerid varchar2(20),
    userid varchar2(20),
    jobid varchar2(20)
    create index user_idx on users(userid)
    create index job_resume_index on users(resume)
    indextype is ctxsys.context
    create unique index seeker_unik on seeker(seekerid)
    create index seeker_index on seeker(jobid,userid)
    then sample records where inserted, then the text index was sync'ed.
    Query and Execution Plan:
    select u.userid, u.name
    from users u, seeker s
    where s.jobid = 'HJOBP000000000218627'
    and u.userid = s.userid
    and contains(resume,'texas') > 1
    Execution Plan
    0 SELECT STATEMENT Optimizer=CHOOSE (Cost=3 Card=1 Bytes=72)
    1 0 NESTED LOOPS (Cost=3 Card=1 Bytes=72)
    2 1 TABLE ACCESS (BY INDEX ROWID) OF 'USERS' (Cost=2 Card=1
    Bytes=30)
    3 2 DOMAIN INDEX OF 'JOB_RESUME_INDEX' (Cost=0)
    4 1 INDEX (RANGE SCAN) OF 'SEEKER_INDEX' (NON-UNIQUE) (Cost=
    1 Card=1 Bytes=42)
    The problem with execution plan is if the domain index returns huge number of records i.e. 40k rows, then it has to check each userid with the SEEKER table, and returns only 10 rows. I can add a hint to specify the use of the user_idx instead of the domain index to improve performance.
    My question is how does the database determine when to use the domain index or to use other highly selective index with out the aid of a HINT. The trace file shows the use of "CTXSYS"."TEXTOPTSTATS".ODCIStatsIndexCost and "CTXSYS"."TEXTOPTSTATS".ODCIStatsFunctionCost. Are these used to compute and compare the cost of each index and decide on what index to used? If so, why does it return a lower cost for domain index when the btree index is more efficient? I have all statistics gathered for all tables and indexes (inc dr$ tables and its indexes)
    Thanks,
    jojo

    Hi,
    What I'm pasting here is actually from Ch9 of Expert PL/SQL. It shows what happens during a select with CONTAINS. It does not include a join with another table, or an additional column in the where clause. Hope it helps.
    ================================================
    By default, the Extensible Query Optimizer is enabled. When enabled, the Extensible Query Optimizer can determine the I/O and CPU cost associated with the CONTAINS predicate, find the cost of each call to the CONTAINS() function, and determine the selectivity of the CONTAINS predicate.
    To see this in action I ran the basic select earlier. Examining the SQL trace shows the steps.
    Step 1 - Determine the I/O and CPU cost of the CONTAINS() function:
    --Available online as part of contains_trace.doc
    "CTXSYS"."TEXTOPTSTATS".ODCIStatsFunctionCost(
    sys.ODCIFuncInfo('CTXSYS',
    'CTX_CONTAINS',
    'TEXTCONTAINS',
    2),
    cost,
    sys.ODCIARGDESCLIST(
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(
    2, 'DOCUMENT_REPOSITORY', 'PLSQL',
    '"DOCUMENT"', NULL, NULL, NULL),
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(3, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL)),
    NULL,
    'constitution',
    sys.ODCIENV(0,0,0,1));
    Step 2 – Determine the selectivity of the CONTAINS predicate
    -- Available online as part of contains_trace.doc
    "CTXSYS"."TEXTOPTSTATS".ODCIStatsSelectivity(
    sys.ODCIPREDINFO('CTXSYS',
    'CTX_CONTAINS',
    'TEXTCONTAINS',
    32),
    sel,
    sys.ODCIARGDESCLIST(
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(3, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL),
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(5, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL),
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(2, 'DOCUMENT_REPOSITORY', 'PLSQL',
    "DOCUMENT"', NULL, NULL, NULL),
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(3, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL)),
    0,
    NULL,
    NULL,
    'constitution',
    sys.ODCIENV(0,0,0,1));
    Step 3: Determine the I/O and CPU cost of the CONTAINS predicate
    -- Available online as part of contains_trace.doc
    "CTXSYS"."TEXTOPTSTATS".ODCIStatsIndexCost(
    sys.ODCIINDEXINFO('PLSQL',
    'EXPERT_IDX',
    sys.ODCICOLINFOLIST(
    sys.ODCICOLINFO('PLSQL', 'DOCUMENT_REPOSITORY',
    '"DOCUMENT"', 'BFILE', NULL, NULL)),
    NULL,
    0,
    0),
    50.00000000,
    cost,
    sys.ODCIQUERYINFO(
    2,
    sys.ODCIOBJECTLIST(sys.ODCIOBJECT('SCORE', 'CTXSYS'))),
    sys.ODCIPREDINFO('CTXSYS', 'CONTAINS', NULL, 0),
    sys.ODCIARGDESCLIST(
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(3, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL),
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(5, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL),
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(2, 'DOCUMENT_REPOSITORY', 'PLSQL',
    '"DOCUMENT"', NULL, NULL, NULL),
    sys.ODCIARGDESC(3, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL)),
    1,
    NULL,
    'constitution',
    sys.ODCIENV(0,0,0,1));
    Note: The 50.00000000 in this last call is the selectivity retrieved from step 2.
    Only after these three steps complete does the query actually get executed:
    -- Available online as part of contains_trace.doc
    SELECT score(1), title
    FROM document_repository
    WHERE CONTAINS(document, 'constitution', 1) > 0
    ORDER BY 1 DESC;
    This is not the end of the processing though. To retrieve the records, the $I table (the index data table) is queried as follows:
    -- Available online as part of contains_trace.doc
    SELECT /*+ INDEX(i) */ TOKEN_FIRST,TOKEN_LAST,TOKEN_COUNT,ROWID
    FROM "PLSQL"."DR$EXPERT_IDX$I" i
    WHERE TOKEN_TEXT = 'CONSTITUTION'
    AND TOKEN_TYPE = 0
    ORDER BY TOKEN_TEXT, TOKEN_TYPE, TOKEN_FIRST;
    Note: The search term is UPPERCASE when querying against the DR$EXPERT_IDX$I table because all of the tokens are stored in uppercase by default. The original SELECT was in lowercase. This automatic conversion to uppercase allows the Text index to provide case-insensitive searching.
    This query returns the following result:
    TOKEN_FIRST TOKEN_LAST TOKEN_COUNT ROWID
    1 2 2 AAAN54AAEAAAOvEAAo
    Finally, the $R table (the rowid table) is queried.
    -- Available online as part of contains_trace.doc
    SELECT data
    FROM "PLSQL"."DR$EXPERT_IDX$R"
    WHERE row_no = 0;
    Only now do I see the results of my query:
    SCORE(1) TITLE
    55 United States Constitution
    8 Bill of Rights
    Keep in mind that modifications to the query, such as the addition of other columns in the where clause or the addition of operators, will result in a different trace.
