No one has updated 5800 to v50 via NSU...!!
i updated my 5800 to v50 via OTA. Then i tried to update via NSU which failed. I tried to update my friend's 5800 via NSU which again failed.(i used a different pc) i think the problem is with nokia servers. BTW battery life is very poor in v50.
so it proves dt the problem is with nokia. im wondering why nokia is not fixing it. aw thnx
I did not say that the problem is more often than not with the user .Or the PC settings .
battery lfe some are reporting poor batery life probably cured by hard reset .

Any idea then why cant we update the firmware via the NSU for the E62, as the NSU does not accept to update the E62???there are phones listed that NSU supports if your phone is not listed there is no way you can update your phone's firmware/software unless you goto the nearest nokia care point

Hi All
I have an issue trying to update my 5800. the PC suite works fine and it see's my phone for all the functions, but when I run the update function it starts fine and trys to see the phone and suddenly it tells me in the taskbar that the phone is diconnected.
I have reinstalled the software a number of time with the same result.
Is this a common problem?. Is there anyway to resolve it?.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advanceNote that updates are usually released via NSU OR via FOTA, not via both channels. If you don't see updates via FOTA it doesn't necessarily follow that you won't see them via NSU.

I have itunes in windows xp, but my ipod touch has updated version of itunes. Windows xp cannot get updated itunes. I am having difficulties transferring my music into my computer. Does any one have an idea how to do it?

Hey, migration from an old mac late 2008 aluminium to a brand new mac book air. Only the new one has firewire. Transmissiom via wifi estimates ~50h. Is there a faster Way to sync? Tanks in advance
I'll venture that your problem here is that you're using two very different versions of Mac OS X. The USB adapter has been useful to me when making big downloads or while using other networks, but it might not be your case.
Here's what I would advise, though it may be less than stellar: Copy the files you need into folders and move them through a USB flash drive or using that external hard drive of yours. (Could the format be the reason your MBA can't see it?). Some stuff like calendars and contacts can be exported too. At least in Lion, I haven't used Tiger in a while.

I have performed all troubleshoot suggestions to make my iphone and PC calendar update to each other via icloud.What else can I do to resolve this? This has been the most frustrationg aspect of changing to iphone and ipad. Thanks.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
1. First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
2. Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
3. If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings. -

I should add that this has never been Jailbroken. I keep reading that a lot of times this is the case for a jail broken phone.

Their is two new Updates that are the same for the OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.5, except one has {Combo}. Which one do i download? The info on them are the same.
It appears Apple’s download servers are ‘overwhelmed’ today. I couldn’t download the newest iTunes update or IOS 7 and there are a lot of discussions today about not being able to download. One poster said they had chatted with App Store support who confirmed the problem.

The recent software update on my HTC One has caused errors with Exchange ActiveSync issues. Calendar, mail and tasks sync fine but contacts won't sync. How do you correct this?
I had the same problem. Here is what worked for me. Open the mail app and delete your exchange account (Settings > Delete Account). Then re-add your Exchange account. After this my Exchange contacts showed up again.

Checking updates to threads one has participated in without receiving email
Sounds basic but here is my question, and if it has no answer, my request for a forum feature.
Once one posts into a thread (including starting one), one can opt in or out to receive email updates. I usually opt out because I cannot care less for the spam. Moreover, I don't need the updates shortly after my post, as the thread will likely show up on my profile in the "Latest posts by X." section.
However, past a certain time, these threads will drift back into oblivion and I have to tab through many pages to occasionally find an updated thread (sometimes with interesting feedback).
Most other forums I follow have a way of bringing modified threads one has participated in (or subscribed to) to the top of the list.
Is there a way to do this on this site or is this a missing feature?Just Click your own name and hit the View All button in Latest Posts.
The Glyphs and BOLD text are rather informative and I rely on them to track short term activity since I often participate on multiple threads at the same time.
Hit the "My Settings" button on the mid-banner too! and there is a way to get a daily summary e-mail. That e-mail is the one to watch for longer term threads like bug report updates from JeffP etc....
Generally, the average poster never needs more tools that the profile page offers (I would bet a majority of "Members" do not even know THAT exists) But you are getting up to that multi K post level where you do start feeling a bit of a pinch from being a few sigmas out on the tail of the distribution. Writing tools for this far out on the tail is probably not a sound investment for Lithium---- but I wish they HAD thought of us earlier in the design.

my case no. is 405403541.Did you purchase the Mac used? If so, the person should have erased the drive and reinstalled the original system and should have given you the install disks.

Error when updating Playbook OS version via Blackberry Desktop Manager

I have a batch of old playbooks which having the stack charging issue, but I found that I can update the OS to the newest version (2.1.0.1917) via Blackberry Desktop Manager, then the charging algorithm will be changed to the updated one and go over this dead battery issue. I was able to do so successfully in the past week smoothly on several devices.
But since this Monday, the Desktop Manager is saying "An updated Blackberry Desktop Software component must be installed before you can continue" when downloading the Desktop software and will appear "There was an error updating your software, an error has occurred while downloading the Blackberry Desktop Software.Please try again." and preventing the process. Seems there are some change on the server side starting this week which has caused this problem, but there's no error code to locate the exact issue.
I tried on 2 different computers as well as completed uninstalling and re-installing the Desktop manager, also tried to disable the automatic update as been advised in some threads. So no clue how to deal with it for now. It will be highly appreciate if some one can share some idea.

First I would like you to do a Back Up of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software.
This can be downloaded for free from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
After the Back Up is complete I need you to unplug your PlayBook and then push and hold down the Power Button until the unit Force Powers Off.

You should see and error screen from Desktop Software pop up that has the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
QUICKLY choose the Update option.

Once it's complete your PlayBook will need to go back through the setup wizard, and you can then perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your information. The only thing that won't come back after the restore are the apps that you downloaded from App World but they can be easily Re-Installed using the My World feature in App World.
