No paperless fax with windows 8.1

   With reference to:
PC: HP Pavilian PC 500-016 (H5Q30AA#ABA)
   OS: Windows 8.1
Printer: HP Officejet 6600 (wireless network)
Please note that there is no problem sending a paperless FAX from any other computer. Paperless fax does not work with the HP Pavilian, Windows 8.1 ( the other computers are windows 7). All other functions of the printer work.
I have tried to re install the printer software from the web. Note that I first installed the software from a disk that came with the printer; and, may not have been suitable to windows 8. Nonetheless everything seemed to work untill I tried to send a paperless fax, something I never gave a second thought to. I tried to change that c:\windows\system32\FXST30.dll, no dice. The fire Wall says all the Officejet 6600 programs are allowed. The device manager says there are no drivers for the FAX ; but, when I try to download the drivers from the HP website, the computer says all the drivers are up-to date! Clearly the computer recognizes the fax function; and the 6600 Fax printer appears alongside of the 6600 printer printer; but, It starts spooling and then cancels.
Stuffing paper in the fax machine is unseemly and impractical, they used to do that in the 80s

Actually I have no idea what wireless adapter I have, on the Lenovo page both drivers are listed. When I install the Realtek driver I at least see an entry in the Device Manager, whereas when I install the Intel driver nothing happens at all. I deinstalled the Intel Tools and reinstalled the Realtek driver afterwards, but nothing changed.
In my router's settings I can only choose between channels 1 to 13, as far as I know these are at 2.4 GHz, right?

  • How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files?

How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files? I need to look at several thousand PDF files. It takes too long to open each one individually. The only thing I could think of is combining them into large groups and then using the Navigation index. But I like the way windows Picture and Fax Viewer does it because you can keep the files separate. Combining PDFs causes loss of individual file names. That would be a problem since I do need to have the individual file names.

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is a DLL and is started via a rundll32.exe call and can't be set as an application to handle images in Firefox 3 and later versions.
Try to set Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer in Windows, then it should be listed automatically in the Mozilla Firefox Browse dialog.

I have an HP2840 running with Windows 7.  Everytime I fax from the computer the print spooler STOPS.
I have to start, then stop, then start again everytime before any of my printers are available.
Is there a setting I need to change?

it sounds to me that the print spooler is crashing. Typically if the spooler crashes, when restarted it will try and process the job in the queue.  If it crashes again, the job will be purged from the queue.

  • Is there a way to make my HP 6400 printer/fax compatible with WIndows 8.1?

I have tried to  install my printer software for my HP all-in-one 6400, but have gotten a message that it is not compatible with Windows 8.1.  Is there any type of "patch" or anyhting I can do short of purchasing a new printer?

  • HP Solution Center won't work with Windows 7

Are there any current workarounds to using the HP Solution Center (for scanning / faxing / printer) for HP Printers with Windows 7 ?
I have an HP Photosmart C7280 (wireless), have installed, re-installed, un-installed, installed from hp.com, installed from CD from HP, and the Windows 7 drivers for my HP printer over-ride the HP drivers.
I have followed every single firewall configuration for the HP printer software, network configuration, wireless modifications, etc, but windows 7 drivers always over-ride the hp.  Either the HP Full Install crashes with fatal errors during installation, or it will work for 5 minutes, and when I reboot the laptop or turn the printer on, the HP Solution Center will share that the installation is incomplete, and to run the setup again.
Although I love my new HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with Windows 7, I'm frustrated that my pile of paperwork to scan cannot be done until the HP "all-in-one" printers are compatible with Windows 7.  I can print, but am not able to do anything else.

  • HP Officejet 4315 with Windows 7 - How to scan into a .pdf file?

My Officejet under HP Solutions software worked wonderful at scanning files into .pdf with Windows Vista.  Now that I have an upgraded computer with Windows 7, I've found that HP Solution is no longer available and I have to use the Windows Scan and fax software which is very limited.  It only lets me scan into 4 different file types - .bmp, .tif, .gif and .jpeg.  None of my usual contacts can read and open the files I send them now.  What can be done here to allow me to do business as usual?  The only way around this that I've found is I can scan with Windows Paint and then insert the 'picture' into a word file which I can then convert to .pdf, but the quality goes way down, not to mention my time to do this goes way up.

OK, only solution I've found is to use a 3rd party program - try cutePDF.
    Thanks for nothing HP!

  • I want to use iChat video and file sharing with Windows users

Nowadays, iChat is compatible with AOL/AIM, Google Talk, Jabber, Mac.com and MobileMe instant messaging services. I know that Yahoo Messenger support will be available soon in Mac OS X Lion.
I tried using AOL/AIM and Google Talk natively in iChat in order to talk with Windows users which were using Google Talk application or web chatting (Me from: Google Talk - My friends from:  Google Talk, and Me from: AOL/AIM - My friends from:  Google Talk), but videoconference and file sharing were not available.
I also tried Windows Live Messenger in iChat via Jabber intermediate, but it is not efficient and doesn't work for videoconference and file sharing.
So, which IM service combination I should use to chat with Windows users in order to be able to use videoconference and file sharing using such a great app like iChat?
    Thanks you.

    Hi,
A lapsed Trial or lapsed Paid for MobileMe account will not work in any fashion, as a Screen Name in iChat/AIM apps or as a Email.  (Of course it is no longer an Valid Apple ID either).
Given that Google is a Jabber server iChat will Video (or Audio Only) Chat Jabber to Jabber.
With a Valid AIM name (AIM, MobileMe or @mac.com) then it is supposed to work to AIM on a PC
This tends to vary from person to person as to success.
From AIM version 6.5 AIM introduced a Send as Typing feature called "Real Time"
It does not work to iChat and in fact also has to be turned Off in the Buddy List at the AIM end for Video or Audio chats to work.
The AIM app also has to be allowed through the Windows Firewall as an Exception, preferably with UPnP enabled as well and UPnP enabled in their Router.
Trillian is a paid for App for PCs that provide an alternative.
Recently theri site offered 3 windows versions
The Pro version of verion 3.2 (known to work), a version 4 and a version 5 in beta.  The version 3.2 used to have a free Text chat version and only the Pro version was needed to Video.
Until the site was reorganised the 3.2 version was "On Sale" at a reduced price.
It seems version 5 is now out of beta
They are still separating out a Pro version.
    It is a multi-service client
There is also a Mac version although I have not tried it.
I am not sure what you mean by "Manage" your MSN Contacts.
How about using a MobileMe expired account screen name for using iChat with Windows-Google Talk users? Should I expect the same incompatibilities?
I have already addressed part of this. The fact the name will not work full stop.
However one way of reading this is that you are thing of linking AIM and Jabber (Google) Buddies in one Buddy List
Directly in iChat this cannot be done - unless you are the one with the Jabber Account and an AIM Transport set up.
You would be subject to the same Text Chat only restrictions.
It is a bit like the fact your phone line can be used for Fax, Telephone and DSL broadband. (in fact mine does TV as well)
You granny would not be able to talk to your Fax machine if that happened to answer the call.
Her Fax machine might be able to communicate with your computer if you had an active Fax app on there, and a dail-up modem active to answer.

  • HD Audio Soft Data Fax with smart CP

    Hello!
I have V6000 presario series notebook with a internal fax modem HD Audio Soft Data Fax with smart CP. With this modem I can send send faxes but cannot recieve them. Often I receive a message stating your fax machine failed to recieve fax from the sender. I did try to reinstall the soft ware and reinstalled the fax driver from the concerned site etc. By the way , I use windows XP professional software as my operating system. Any help regarding this impediment is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    6alza8

    Hello Rakmad,
I am afraid my driver version is 7.70.00 and driver date is 25/12/2007. Therefore the version appears to be the latest. I am dubious about the version as this was a common hassle for several with compaq presario V6000 series several with this series can send fax but cannot recieve them. I went over and over again with the configuration, microsoft fax was uninstalled and reinstalled but with no luck whatsoever. Is there any changes rather minor in the registry that can rectify this impediment? I have a hunch this is the portion to be dealt with to mend the same. Oh by the way! when I query the modem AT+FCLASS=?0.1 and AT#CLS=? COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED. Hope this information may reveal any clue to the diagnosis of this crises.

  • Windows Fax & Scan (Windows 7 x64 Home Prem.)

I have a Pavilion DV6T-1378nr.  It is equipped with an LSI HDA Modem.
Today, I cannot send any faxes via Windows Fax & Scan.  I get a Fatal Error message when the 3rd page is being sent.
Yesterday, I was able to send faxes with no problems.  In fact, I sent a 22 page fax and it sent perfectly.
I have searched google with no luck.  Any help with this issue would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

/Re: Xfi Xtrememusic and Windows 7 x64 home premFKeep us updated.
I put together a new system with a GA-X58A-UD3R and REVODRIVE + Win7 64bit and have the same problem but results in the BSOD and requires loading SSD drivers to recover.
I'm not 00% sure it's the X-FI card but the problem stopped when I removed the card and drivers. Using the on-board souns works but can't compare to the X-fi quality?or ALchemy effects when gaming.
I've had the system running stable for over a week now and am tempted to try the X-fi card again but it's extremely painful to recover from the crash..
I took this X-fi Xtrememusic card from my other computer which also ran Win7-64 and had problems with that one too but finally got them installed and working by installing them inthe "SAFE" mode. Once it was in it worked great.

  • Software for HP solutions center is not compatable with windows 7

I bought a HP note book pc with windows 7 64 bit operating system.  I'm using a HP officejet 4315v all in one printer that works perfectly using the driver detected by windows 7 installed using the USB cable.  Previously I had installation software for the HP solution center program that worked with XP and Vista.  When I tried to install the software in  windows 7 I received the message telling me it was incompatable with my operating system.  There seems to be  according  all my research in the HP system no updated software to use Window solutiions center with Windows 7 64 bit operating system.  HP says there is a work around that will open the toolbox in order to check ink levels but not much more.  It doesn't work.  I know microsoft 7 provides a way to scan and fax but HP solution center was by far better.  Are there any solutions I might have misses or suggestion?  I would appreciate any help given. TIA

The only solution for the officejet 4315v is the in-OS driver in WIndows 7,  there is no full feature software availible for this printer in that OS.

  • Will hp officejetpro 6830 work with windows 10?

will hp officejetpro 6830 work with windows 10?

Windows 10 is still in th pre-release stage and it is not published yet what will be supported, I expect this will happen in the next month as the July 29 release nears.  HP's site here will have compatibility information, check back in late July for information. That said, I would expect that current printers will be suported in Windows 10.  The current public Windows 10 Build 10130 does have a Fax driver for the Officejet Pro 6830 and print drivers that would be compatible as well.

  • Cannot send/receive Fax through Windows Fax and Scan

Having a problem with Windows Fax and Scan on Small Business Server 2011 Standard SP1.  When I call the fax number, I can see the line ringing in the Fax Status Monitor, but it errors out with "The incoming call cannot be answered as a fax
call".  I've also tried sending and receive an error: "No dial tone was detected"  I've connected a regular phone to the line and placed an outside call and received a call from an outside line.  No errors are logged in Event
Viewer, but If I check the Server Roles, Fax Server shows Event ID 32092, 32032 and 32031
Troubleshooting so far has consisted of:
    Restarting Fax service
Removing/Readding the Fax Account in Windows Fax and Scan
Checked Print Spooler and Fax queue for held documents to clear (none)
Uninstalled/reinstalled the fax modem in Device Manager
Run Windows Update(several security updates pending)
Checked the DeviceToMonitor key in HKCU to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fax\UserInfo matches the DeviceName key in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fax (at one point it did not match)
Removing/Readding the Fax Role.  In the process, also removing registry keys: HKLM_SOFTWARE_MICROSOFT_FAX, HKCU_Software_Microsoft_Fax, HKLM_SOFTWARE_Microsoft_Windows_CurrentVersion_Telephony_CountryList, HKLM_SOFTWARE_Microsoft_Windows_CurrentVersion_Telephony_Locations.

  • Faxing with Internal Modem - Mac Mini and DSL

I have a first generation Mac Mini with an internal modem, and am trying for the first time to send a fax. I believe I've configured the faxing feature correctly through the print/fax preferences. I have DSL connected through ethernet. When I send the fax, it shows in the menu that it is dialing (but no sound), and then on the status window, it says it's on hold. It then redials in another 6 minutes or so and then same thing happens again--on hold. Eventually after several tries it disappears from the status window, and there's no indication that the task was completed.
What I'm wondering is, is it actually possible to fax using DSL? I called my ISP (Earthlink) who said I needed an external fax machine, that I couldn't fax with in internal modem. This led me to believe he had no idea what I was talking about. He referred me to Apple. I called but they are closed.
I'm trying to fax to a governmental office, so perhaps they are closed to, and that's why it isn't going through?
Or do I need to be doing something differently.
    Help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Esther

Hi Esther Le Sieur: Unfortunately you can't fax through DSL. If you do have an internal modem you can certainly use that. You will need to use a regular phone line from the modem to a regular dial-tone jack. Depending on how your DSL is installed, you may have access to a regular dial-tone jack at or near where your DSL is connected.

  • Faxing with Apple USB Modem (external) - Can you do it?

I bought the new iMac G5 with built in iSight BUT no built in Modem. Apple offers a USB Modem and it says you can fax BUT one of the posts said they could NOT fax. Has anyone successfully sent and received faxes using the Apple USB Modem preferably from a new iMac?

The following appeared in yesterday's MacInTouch.com column:
Chuck Counselman sent a follow-up to his Nov. 16 note about faxing with Apple's new USB external modem:
I've since solved the problem. Now my Apple USB Modem not only sends and receives faxes; it also dials into Earthlink and makes a PPP connection to the Internet. For others' possible benefit, here is a description of what I did that worked. I don't know how much of what I did was necessary.
In System Preferences > Network, I defined a new Location (which I named "USB Modem," but the name is not important). In the "Show" pop-up menu, I chose "External Modem." Under the "PPP" tab I entered my Service Provider's name, my Account Name and Password, and primary and alternate telephone numbers for my ISP's modem pools; and I clicked "Apply Now." Under the "TCP/IP" tab, in the "Configure IPv4" menu, I left the default choice "Using PPP" unchanged. Under the "Modem" tab, in the "Modem" menu, I chose "Apple External 56K Modem (v.92)"; I left the other default choices unchanged; and I clicked "Apply Now". Then I closed System Preferences.
Via the data-modem menu in the OS menu bar, I chose "Connect," and was pleased to hear and see the familiar sounds and sights of a dial-up connection. I surfed the web for a couple of minutes just to test the connection; it was fine.
In System Preferences > Print & Fax, under the "Faxing" tab I had already entered my fax number and a "Save to" folder name. Now I clicked the "Set Up Fax Modem" button. A day earlier, clicking this button had gotten me an empty "Fax List" window. Now it got me a "Fax List" window containing one entry with the name "External Modem."
And now the Apple USB Modem answered calls, received faxes, and saved them in the folder I'd designated. Now I could send faxes, too, following the instructions in the OS Help.
I returned to my original Location, where my Network connection was via Airport, not via the USB modem. Now, in the data-modem menu in the OS Menu Bar, the "Connect" command was grayed out (as expected). However, the USB modem continued to function for faxing.

  • DaqCard 6024E intermittant with Windows XP

I am still having trouble running the PCMCIA DaqCard 6024E reliability
on a Winbook running home version XP. I could get by, but my customers
    can't.
I ordered two cards, one to upgrade a Winbook laptop running Windows Me
(from a DaqCard 500) (a little over a year old) and the other for a new
Winbook which came with XP installed. I also have a new Winbook running
XP (also home version) and working fine with a DaqPad 6020E from the USB
port. I am using the latest version of NIDaq, 6.9.2. Once MAX sees the
    card, LabVIEW has no problems.
Both of the DaqCards cards run fine in the old Winbook running Me.
Neither of the PCMCIA 6024E cards will run reliably with the XP system.
    >From a cold boot, I have to restart several times (usually between 5 and
10 times) before the card is recognized (little icon in task bar). Or
if I boot once and then just unplug and replug the card - hot - it also
requires about 5 to 10 of these cycles. Once its recognized, if I
unplug and replug the card it will not fail to recognize the card until
    between 15 and 20 tries.
Just to verify that the laptop is ok, I bought a PCMCIA ethernet card.
The box for the ethernet card (Netgear FA411) indicated that it would
run with Windows 95/98/Me and a sticker on the cellophane wrapper said
"Works with Windows XP". The sticker (afterthought) suggested to me
that if it would work with Windows 95/98/Me it would also work with XP.
I rebooted 25 times and the computer recognized it every time. I also
unplugged and plugged the either net card - hot - 25 times and the
    computer recognized it every time.
Winbook will not guarantee survival if I try to load 98 or Me in the new
computer. I think these systems are assembled and loaded in China and
they don't have the drivers in Ohio. By the way, this is my fifth
Winbook, and this is my first problem. Otherwise XP seems to run better
than Me. My new Winbook with XP and the DaqPad has never failed. I
have been using it nearly every day since February. I developed both of
    the DacCard systems with it.
I think the Winbooks, about $1000, and the DaqCards are perfect for my
customers. I hope we can fix this problem.
For the present, my clients are using the computers in the lab and are
able to leave them on continuously 24X7. But soon they will get
approvals and will have to go to the clinic for their study. They have
to move a cart into a room, plug in the equipment and can't be messing
with the cards when the room is $700 per hour and the Doctors are upset
(that's a mild term). If we loose a study, we have lost a consenting
patient, (they are not easy to come by these days). I suppose, if I
have to, we could use DaqPAds, but I don't want to do that, nor do I
want the lose the restocking fee. In addition, I am currently putting
another system together, which I will deliver at the end of July. Not
sure what to buy, DaqCard or DaqPad (prefer DaqCard).

    Harry;
We don't have anything reported yet about Winbooks and Windows XP.
One thing you can try out though, is to see if the Socket drivers in use by the Winbook are the Native ones provided by Microsoft.
If they aren't uninstall those and install the NAtive ones from the Windows installation CD. If that is the case, it's probably the cause of the problem.
    Hope this helps.
