No SMTP server specified for CFMAIL.
In order to send SMTP mail messages, ColdFusion requires that
a default SMTP server be specified. You can set the default SMTP
server using the Mail page of the ColdFusion Administrator.
Alternatively, you can make sure that all CFMAIL tags have a
SERVER= attribute provided. In this particular case, no SERVER=
attribute was provided and no default SMTP server setting has been
specified.

you can specify mail server directly in the <cfmail>
tag, without having
to specify one in cf admin:
<cfmail server="your SMTP mail server address here, eg.
mail.yourdomain.com" ...>
if your SMTP server requires authentication, then you will
also have to
add username and password attribute to the <cfmail> tag
along with the
server attribute:
<cfmail server="your SMTP mail server address here, eg.
mail.yourdomain.com" username="your user name, usually the
first part of
or full email address" password="password for the username
specified in
the username attribute" ...>
PS: you may want to download CFML Reference Manual from
adobe.com - it
has explanations and examples for all cf tags and functions.

  • Email SMTP server setup for Adaptive Job Server

    Hi,
    I am trying to setup SMTP server to send mails while scheduling webi reports.
    I have given Domain name, smtp server name and port number 25.
    Once I do schedule, the schedule instance is showing success. But mails are being sent.
    Please guide me, how I can solve this issue.
    Regards
    Gowtham

    My problem has been resolved.
    Regarding that, probably you should check with SMTP server admin.
    For me, the shcedule was success but didn't receive mail. I think the SMTP server admins cleared any firewall filters.
    Not sure. Please check with your SMTP server admin.

    Hey rehankhwaja,
    Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
    When sending an email message do you receive a clock icon or an error message stating Protocol layer was unable to send a message?  If so, please contact your network service provider and ask to be transferred to BlackBerry so we can gather some logs to help with our investigation.
    Thanks.

  • Why is Gmail SMTP server working for only one of two accounts?

    iPhone 4S, with all updates.
    I have two gmail accounts, primary and secondary.  I have both accounts set to use smtp.gmail.com, with password authentication for each account.
    Primary account can send just fine using SMTP.  Secondary account cannot send through it's "own" server (i.e., [email protected]) and sent messages failover to the primary account server ([email protected]).  Of course, that means recipients see the email as coming from the primary account, which is totally contrary to the reason I have it.
    Settings for smtp are identical, except for username and password.  I can send using the secondary account in Mail on my Mac, using that server, with messages showing properly (i.e. from [email protected]).
    Any ideas what's going on?

    On the iPhone that can't send or receive iMessages, make sure iMessage is On in Settings > Message.
    Also, try the tips in this Apple doc -> iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    If you still can't send or receive iMessages
    To send and receive iMessages, your device must have a valid cellular or Wi-Fi data connection.
    iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    iOS: Troubleshooting cellular data
    Ensure that iMessage is turned on in Settings > Messages.
    iMessage registration validates your Apple ID for use with iMessage. If you are unable to activate iMessage, follow this article.
    If iMessage is unavailable either on the sending or receiving device, SMS will be used. You can turn this on or off in Settings > Messages > Send As SMS. Carrier messaging rates may apply.
    Verify that the Apple ID or phone number is listed in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
    Note: To receive iMessages sent to your phone number on your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, you must meet the following requirements:
    iPad or iPod touch using iOS 6 or a Mac using OS X 10.8.2.
    Verify that you are signed in to your Apple ID account on Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

  • SMTP server settings for Ziggo

    I have a new iMac, and try to set up my Ziggo e-mail account. I have followed all instructions. I receive incoming e-mails from POP.Ziggo.nl, but I cannot send e-mails - the iMac cannot connect to the smtp.ziggo.nl server. Can anyone help? I have "un-ticked" the SSL settings. Everything seems OK, but same error message everytime "cannot send message using smtp.ziggo.nl server". Can anyone help????

    Hi Steve,
    Don't know if I can help you but I'll try.
    Do you have an email with ziggo.nl or something like casema.nl?
    If you do have something other than ziggo.nl then you have to change the smpt "address".
    For the last couple of days I've been getting a message that the Ziggo certificate is not trusted. This too is causing a problem with sending. What I do is wait until I get the message you have, then click on connect.

  • What is the AT&T smtp server for? The SSL is set to "off"

    I was looking around at my Mail settings on my iPhone and noticed there's an AT&T smtp server window. You access it my Settings/Mail Contacts Cal/one of your email accounts/SMTP server/. At the top is the smtp server for your email address which is on, and below are smtp server panes for your other email accounts which are set to off. But one of those smtp server panes is for the AT&T smtp. For what function is it used for? It's vreyed out but SSL set to OFF for the AT&T smtp and the Yahoo smtp, but all the other smtp's are set to ON for SSL.
    Isn't it better for the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to be on? Why is Yahoo's and AT&T's set to OFF. I can't find where to access a non-greyed out AT&T's smtp window pane.

    Allan Sampson wrote:
    when sending/receiving via AT&T's cellular network, all data is encrypted over the network, which is a GSM standard.
    Note that in the USA a weaker version of the GSM encryption is used than in Europe.
    http://www.gsm-security.net/faq/gsm-encryption-algorithm-a5-cipher.shtml
    Also, the GSM encryption has been broken a long time ago, but someone whould have to sit between the phone and the basestation to capture and decode the traffic (or they must have access to the network operator's, so called, Legal Intercept interface).
    http://www.gsm-security.net/faq/gsm-a5-broken-security.shtml
    And, AFAIK, the GSM encryption is only in use on the wireless connection between the device and the basestation it is connected to (not on the operator's backbone network, and not when the traffic exits the operator's network and goes to the Internet outside, which it must, in order to get to SMTP servers not in the operator's machine rooms).
    And a last point: Even if you use SSL/TLS between the client and the SMTP server, it is not necessarily used from the SMTP server to the receiving email server (which might mean that the message travels through tens of systems unencrypted until it reaches its destination).

  • HT4519 Unknown SMTP server and user name in my Ipods mail settings???

    I have an ipod touch 4th and four yahoo email accounts set up on it. My primary smtp server is yahoo smtp. Now i recently checked my email account settings in "SETTINGS" and noticed that under my primary smtp server is a catagory called "Other SMTP Servers" and underneath that shows "smtp.aol.com". So, curiously, i clicked through to see the "Outgoing Mail Server" category which lists Smtp.aol.com as the host name and "on**********[email protected]" as the user name. Now I have used that user name with yahoo before but i do not have and aol account! And I certainly didn't add these settings myself. What could this mean??

    Hi,
    I know that the SMTP server settings are correct as they work correctly for the work email account. The home account (that is not working) uses these same settings.
    In the iPad OS when you go into the Mail settings and click through to the menus to get to the SMTP servers there is a primary smtp server specified this is globally used across all the mail accounts. As I say I know that my settings for this are correct as it works for the work account.
    I have however taken your advice and confirmed with my service provider and re-entered all the smtp settings to this primary server and the iPad confirms that all the details are verified, however I still get the same problem with the work emails sending correctly and the home ones stuck in the outbox. To me it appears that the problem is not with logging onto the smtp server the problem is with the iPad actually sending the message to server.
    Any other suggestions?

  • How to check whether a SMTP server is supporting Authentication or not

    Hi All,
    We are using Java Mail API 1.3.1/1.3.2 to send the messages. some of the SMTP servers that we use are supporting authentication and some of them are not.
    As the SMTPTransport.supportsAuthentication() is not available only in Java mail API 1.4.1, we are identifying the SMTP server whether it is supporting authentication or not in the following way.
    Socket clientSocket = null;
    InetSocketAddress socketAddress = null;
    OutputStream outStream = null;
    InputStream inStream = null;
    InputStreamReader inReader = null;
    OutputStreamWriter outWritter = null;
    try
    clientSocket = new Socket();
    socketAddress = new InetSocketAddress(host, port);
    clientSocket.connect(socketAddress, timeout*1000); // convert timeout from second to miliseconds
    // 1: now try to execute the given command by passing that on Out-Socket
    outStream = clientSocket.getOutputStream();
    outWritter = new OutputStreamWriter(outStream);
    outWritter.write("ehlo localhost" +"\n");
    outWritter.flush();
    // 2:Read output of above command
    inStream = clientSocket.getInputStream();
    inReader = new InputStreamReader(inStream);
    // This array limit would be fine to get "AUTH" extension of smtp server.
    char[] arr = new char[16384];
    StringBuilder strBuilder = new StringBuilder();
    inReader.read(arr);
    for(int i=0; i< arr.length; i++)
    strBuilder.append(arr);
    System.out.println(METHOD_NAME + "SMTP server response for ehlo localhost command ->"+strBuilder.toString());
    // The output EHLO command comes like below :
    // ehlo localhost
    // 250-ap9058pc.us.oracle.com Hello ap614ses.us.oracle.com [130.35.33.43], pleased to meet you

    // 250-DSN
    // 250-ETRN
    // 250-AUTH GSSAPI DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN
    // Since for XATUH ( like internal IP),
    // we are not sure, so just checking for AUTH capability.
    supported = strBuilder.indexOf("250-AUTH") >=0? true : false;
    As shown in above code, we are issuing 'ehlo localhost' command to SMTP server, if the response i. 'strBuilder' contains '250-AUTH' then we are assuming that it is supporting authentication.
    But for one SMTP server the 'strBuilder' value is showing as '220 mail.durofelguera.com ESMTP Service (Lotus Domino Release 8.5.2) ready at Thu, 16 Feb 2012 13:57:20 +0100' only which is socket connection output but not 'ehlo localhost' command output.
    where as the telnet test output is showing correct only as below
    # telnet mail.durofelguera.com 25
    Trying 172.20.16.65...
    Connected to mail.durofelguera.com.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    220 mail.durofelguera.com ESMTP Service (Lotus Domino Release 8.5.2) ready

    yu
    250-HELP
    250-AUTH LOGIN
    250-SIZE
    250 PIPELINING
    AUTH LOGIN
    The question is why the 'strBuilder' is not showing 'ehlo localhost' conad output where as the telnet test results are showing correctly, what is going wrong here?
    Is there any other way to check that whether SMTP server is supporting authentication or not?
    Edited by: sarojak on Feb 19, 2012 10:11 PM

    There are so many things wrong with your code, it's hard to know where to start...
    Basically, the problem is not as simple as you think it is.
    For example, some servers might not allow authentication until you've issued
    the STARTTLS command.
    These days, essentially all servers allow authentication. You're probably better
    off just assuming the server supports.

  • Want to reply to some mail through separate SMTP server

    Here's the situation--my grad school uses a Lotus webmail application for their student mail, which is annoying for several reasons, not the least of which being that it's not compatible with Safari.
    I asked if they could give me the IMAP server name so I could just access my school email through Mail, but they told me IMAP isn't supported for students (which is weird, because it is supported for faculty/staff).
    Anyway, they do allow students to set up mail forwarding, so I can get my email that way. Problem is that when I reply it comes from my mac.com address, not my school address.
    I have the SMTP server information for my school, so is there a way to set up a script that basically says, "if mail is recieved from an address with @odu.edu, reply through SMTP server smtp.odu.edu with username xxx and password xxx"? The mail rules are too simplistic for this function, and I could probably do it with AppleScript, but I have no idea how to write scripts.

  • Call Home w/o SMTP Server

    The Cisco 9216i switch's mgmt interface is on a private LAN that does not have an SMTP server. Is it possible to route outbound email through a gigE interface which is also an FCIP ISL?
    Has anyone had success at implementing Call home without a SMTP server? For instance, it would seem feasible to forward either SysLog or SNMP Traps to a receiver then have email initiated from the receiver.
    This seems like a weird limitation given all of the other capabilities of the switch.
    Thanks, Craig

    Hi Craig,
    Callhome through the gigE won't work. Reasoning is as follows. When you do a Callhome alert, the Callhome process will attempt to setup an SMTP connection. If you define a static route out the gigE interface then it will at least initiate the first TCP SYN out the gigE interface. The SYN packet is destined for the SMTP server (tcp port 25) and will be sourced with the gigE interface ip address. But when the SMTP server replies the TCP stack behind the gigE interface will issue a RST (reset). This is because the gigE TCP stack will not accept TCP connections other than FCIP or iSCSI. This is by design. For the same reason you cannot bring up the MDS http welcome screen through the gigE ip address.
    You can however use IPFC to route the Callhome SMTP traffic over the FCIP ISL to a remote switch that is acting as a default IP gateway, but of course the remote switch must have ip connectivity via it's mgmt interface to the SMTP server.
    Lastly, Callhome always requires an SMTP server. Forwarding traps to an external management server that then uses email or pager is an alternative to Callhome...you won't need to enable Callhome feature to do that.

  • SMTP Server Name

    Good Morning:
    I am installing Mid Tier of OCS. Could you guys give more information about the SMTP Server Name asked during installation: guidelines says: "SMTP server name for Subscriber Administrator and Users access thier passwords and log into Oracle Files". Should be this Server name the same host in wich I am installing MNidTier, or ?
    Thanks in advance for any explanation.

    Hi!
    This is asked during the files configuration. The files component will send out an email to the admin when users are synchronized and when other issues arise in the files environment. The mail server could be the one you just installed but you might choose a different one as well.

    Is there any possibility to change the SMTP server setting for email on nokia 6500 slide? When adding an email account the phone automatically assumes that you would like to send the emails thru the mobile providers ISP, but i have an external ISP with SSL login at port 495.

  • SMTP Server set up for emailing

    Can anyone advise which BO documents sets out the procedure for setting up the job server for emailing, etc? The Admin and deployment guides talk about it, but don't specify how it's done.
    Thanks.

    CMC > servers > job server > destinations
    enable SMTP and configure the default options from there. Some information may be required from your email admin.
    Then schedule a report (that uses that job server) and select email as a destination. You will have the ability to select a specific address or use the default (configured on the job server in the 1st step). The accounts used will have to have access to send to the email SMTP server.
