No stacktraces in JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270
Since a little while my JDev environment lacks printing stackTraces while running or debugging projects.
For example:
I have a bit of code which generates a NullPointerException. Normally I would get a stackTrace in the log inside JDev, where I could determine the line it went wrong.
Now I only get the following:
09/09/28 14:21:16 null
A timestamp and a real short message pointing towards a NullPointerException. This is hard to debug. It happens with all sorts of exceptions.
Can anybody help me out?

Generating Webservices proxy in JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270
Hi,
I have been using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.0.4 for creating .net webservice proxy for over a year now. Recently i upgraded the Jdeveloper IDE to 10.1.3.4.0.4270 and since then i m not able to connect to the webservice. Here are the steps i m taking to create the proxy which i did in the older version as well.
New --> Business Tier --> Web Service --> Web Service Proxy
WSDL Document URL -- https://ServerName/Webservice.asmx?wsdl
I am using all the default settings from Steps 2 thru 4
Step 5 -- Adding a package name, clearing the root package for generated types, checking all the other options on the screen.
Finally click Finish.
All of this still works if i were make the proxy in the previous Jdeveloper version. However with this new version i am getting the following error.
javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: bmtez.spidr.SPIDRInterfaceLocator

Thanks,
-Seema Abdi.Can you compare the Web Browser and Proxy settings in your jdev installation.(Tools->Preferences->Web Browser and proxy)
I case that does not solve your issue:
Where is this service hosted? Is it on your localbox or you are accessing it over the net.
Can you try migrating the project created in the earlier Jdev installation and see if you can run that successfully.

JDeveloper, Can not build schema - Help Required
Hi everyone,
I am facing a peculiar problem with Jdeveloper. (10.1.3.4.4270)
I am developing an ESB project. When referring to a XSD from within a XSD using a URL i.e. import, It's giving me error.
Here is the sample code:_
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
<xsd:import namespace="http://xmlns.mysite.com/q/types"
schemaLocation="http://192.168.8.10:7072/mySchemas/xmltypes.xsd" />
( [http://192.168.8.10:7072/mySchemas/xmltypes.xsd|http://192.168.8.10:7072/mySchemas/xmltypes.xsd] is accessible from a browser directly on the machine where project dir exists)
When opening the XSD is design mode its showing red(error) for any element that uses types from xmltypes.xsd. When opening the XSL mapping which uses the current XSD its gives the following error:
"Failed to open the target schema:
Can not build schema 'http://xmlns.mysite.com/q/types' located at 'file :/C: /....../*xmltypes.xsd*'"
+(It seems Jdeveloper is looking for the xmltypes.xsd in project dir, even though the import points to a URL)+
The same code above works fine in Eclipse Gynamade and elements in current XSD are able to refer to types in xmltypes.xsd.
What could be the problem. I am not finding any solution for this.
Thanks in advance.Thank you for your reply.ButI had assign the dba role to the user,and could you tell me what version can build the schema.I had use the RAM 6.3.4.0.0 Complete 6.334
Thank in advance

JDeveloper 10 - Go to Source in Structure View quit working
Hi,
I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270. After firing it up this morning , I find that "Got to Source" in the Structure View is not working. Double-clicking on any method (or right-clicking and selecting "Go to Source") has no effect. The cursor stays where it's at in the editor window instead of jumping to the selected method.
Has anyone seen this before? Any suggested fixes (besides reinstalling)?
Thanks,
--Rob RobertsThe problem seems to be the same one discussed in this thread: StackOverflowError on JDev 10.1.3 startup
The solution mentioned there fixed it for me.

JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 is slow
I download and install Jdev 11.1.1.3. Running an adf application needs 2:40.
My machine has 4G memory. OS is Windows XP
I add AddVMOption -Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen=false to jdev.conf file. Running an adf application needs 2:20.
However, it is still slow. How to solve this problem?John (or anyone who can answer this):
Is there a similar reason why our JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270, JHeadstart 10.1.3.3.88 DEPLOYED applications are extremely slow first thing in the morning? We are using Oracle Single Sign-On (SSO) which sometimes takes an extremely long time (5 - 10 minutes) to get to the Login Page, then we sometimes wait > 10 minutes that first time to get into the deployed application once a successful signon takes place. Other times we will wait that amount of time and receive a 403 Error screen. Closing down the browser (Firefox 3.6.8) or clearing out the cookies then trying again, will often times get us in eventually.
Once we are in the first time, then things seem to work at a more acceptable pace.
We are spending a lot of hours trying to figure this out. This is critical to us because the users are refusing to use the new applications since they are so slow. People can't be waiting this amount of time to bring up their applications first thing in the morning.
Any insight would be extremely, extremely appreciated.

Exceptions thrown while importing tables from SQL Server 2000
Hi all,
<MyProblem:
I cannot import the tables defined in my local SQL Server. An exception is thrown --oracle.jdeveloper.cm.ds.db.ValidationException: Columns of type varchar cannot have a size specified.
/>
<What I have done:
In Oracle JDev 10g, Created a new DB connection called "SQLServerConnection" to connect to the SQL Server and it works fine. I am able to see all tables by expanding the connection.
During the creation of a new partner link named "DBAdapter", I use the adapter wizard to select DB Adapter and then select the "SQLServerConnection" DB connection I have created. I select Perform an Operation on a Table and then check Select. After I pressed OK button on the[i] Import Tables dialog, a Error messege box emmerged indicating the Exception: Columns of type varchar cannot have a size specified.
I try to change the data type of the columns of the tables to char, there is still similar exception (Columns of type char cannot have a size specified).
/>
I got the stack trace from the prompt by using jdev.exe.

Hello,
We're currently on JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270. We just release a new version of our web app into production. This is an internal web application. application server is weblogic 10. The weblogic log is showing alot of these warning messages. I tried search on this forum and in google but unable to find any information. I really appreciate if anyone has any idea what could be causing these warning. Our users are constantly getting sent back to the login page to to user sessions lost.

[BC4J] JBO-27122 Invalid Column Type
Dear forum,
I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270 with ADF Business Components 10.1.3.42.70.
Here is what I am calling inside the validate method of a class that extends EntityImpl.
protected void validateEntity() {
super.validateEntity();
/* JBO-27122
// test
this.getParents(); // This call is enough to trigger the exception.
// trying to set the parent from the VO
this.setParents((ParentsImpl)this.getParentsView().getEntity(0)); // goes ok...
super.checkStuff(this.getParents().getChildren()); // and then fail at getParents
super.checkStuff((MyEntityImpl)this.geParentsView().getEntity(0)); // goes ok
}Any call to "getParents()" gives me a JBO-27122 error, caused by "Invalid Column Type".
The stack trace first line is "oracle.jbo.server.QueryCollection.buildResultSet(QueryCollection.java:836)". I have searched this forum and Metalink, and did not get a single hit.
Despite the fact that an invalid column type is reported, I know that my queries are ok, because
- The entities are synchronized with the database.
- I have tested the queries in SQL*Plus using adequate bind variables, with no error.
- The variables to be bound are instances of the right class (oracle.jbo.domain.Number in this case).
- There is no bound variables naming mismatch.
- The BC4J components are working as they should, except for the getParents that is.
- Recreating the EOs & VOs as well as their associations and links from scratch gives me the same result.
What bothers me is that casting the parent's viewRowImpl into an entityImpl goes fine, but getting the entityImpl directly does not.
Perhaps I am doing something wrong, or something that I shouldn't be doing.
Has anyone encountered this?
Cheers,
adsmHi Frank,
Thank you for your answer.
I have been unable to reproduce the error using the HR schema. Going on from there, I have also been unable to reproduce it on a new BC4J project in the same application.
I suppose that it has something to do with the BC4J configuration file, but I haven't been able to find what is wrong. What I have found out is that this issue only appears when dealing with more than one level of view link (ie: View1->ViewLink1->View2->ViewLink2->View3).
Anyway, this application has been migrated time and time again from an early JDev9 version, so something like that was bound to happen someday. A pity that we didn't catch this sooner.
Cheers,

How to Write Error messages to application.log file in OAS 10g.
Hi All i am in urgent need of writing log messages to Oracle Application Server10g application.log file.
Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270.
Thanks & Regards,
Renuka
Edited by: Renuka on Jan 18, 2013 8:00 AMZariel wrote:Boot from where? If you want the entire boot process you can use debug parameter. BUT I dont know what you will get becauseyour harddrive gets mounted during init, and during init it dumps dmesg to a log file, i guess dmesg gets its logs from minilogd which also gets started during init. The only way of doing it would be to get the kernel to log its output to ram then flush it to disk at the relevant time. Ive no idea if you can do this or not.
I just boot normally from my hard disk, but all the messages between "INIT version 2.86 booting" and the output from /etc/issue (when login is started), is gone. It's not in /var/log/messages nor do I get it via dmsg.
All the kernel messages BEFORE "INIT version 2.86 booting" are logged okay. -
APPS_WF_EVENT_T.xsd not found
Hello all,
I am trying to use the Oracle Applicaitons Adapter to try to listen to a business event on my R12 eBusiness Suite. I picked "Oracle Applications" Services as my partnerlink, found the business event that I was looking for but couldn't see the APPS_WF_EVENT_T.xsd anywhere in the file system to be imported. I am using jdeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270 Any idea why?
Thanks!create the business event partner link using Oracle Applications Adapter.
When at last step - it asks about schema , choose : Any Schema and create the partner link.
Then using receive activity, connect the partner link to receive and create variable.
Save it, based on the name of the partner link, a schema will be created in project folder : can be accessed from Jdeveloper applicaiton browser in SCHEMA Folder.
That is the schema for the business event standard and common to all business events.
let me know, else i will email it t you. -
Error Message "truePGItemModel" on generation
Hi All:
Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270.
JHeadstart 10.1.3.2.51
Upon the first Generate of a JHeadstart Application, I received the following error. I searched this forum and did not find a reference to this error. Any assistance is appreciated.
"Could not instatiate JhsApplicationGenrator class: No bean named 'truePGItemModel' is defined"
Mary
UofWHi Evert-Jan:
I greatly appreciate your reply. When I did a search on truePGItemModel in the specified application, none was found as shown below.
Looking for: truePGItemModel in: AREditAcademicFees.jws
Found 0 occurrences in 3339 file(s)
So I did a search on PGItemModel only and found the following, all in the jag-config.xml. This is a copy of the search output As you can see, only one is listed as "true". Would you like to see the entire jag-config.xml file?
Thanks so very much, I'm really not sure what to do at this point....

Parent child relationship for h:selectOneMenu
I am trying to create a h:selectOneMenu child list when the parent list is selected I want to use that selection as the value to build my child list with.
But when I use the valueChangeListener it does not fire.
So I am wondering if there is another way to build the child list based on the selection.
I am using jDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.4270, and i am only using JSF HTML components.
Thanks

Error while deploying to WebLogic from Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4
Hello,
For some reasons, suddenly Jdeveloper gives some problems when trying to deploy an application to the internal WebLogic. It used to deploy the app without any problems in the past. I must have done something wrong and I would like to know what it is happening other than a solution to the problem.

Any idea? I am stuck.
Do anyone have any idea about this matter? I really don't know where to look at.

I didn't edit web.xml file manually, please help.
Thanks,Is that al what you see in logs? If there is more then please go through again carefully. There are certain serlvet and filter dependencies that are required to be commented out in the web.xml to be able to run it. Also have a look at https://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/tip_to_quickly_test_jdeveloper
Hope this helps
