No translation in customizing

Hi guys,
Just for your information:
In customizing no translation exists for "Optimize Performance for Cohort"
(Campus Management - Procesos en Campus Management - Cohortes

Hi Elisabeth,
sounds like you are seeking for a correction in the software... you can actually create an OSS message for an issue like that. This will then reach those people who can correct this and they can sent you a correction note etc..

  • Where to maintain Turksih translation for customer specific status?

    HI gurus,
    How was your New Year?
    I am kindaa of stuck at maintaining translations from English to Turkish. To maintain translation e.g. For Ee grp I go to Table T501 > on the menu GOTO > Translate > select the language > enter Turkish words. but for the following the translate option is coming dim for me. I don't know if there any other place to maintain it. I am having trouble with the following:
    - customer specific status    Table: VV_T529U_1__AL0   or  Prnl mgmt. > Pernl. admn. > Custm proc. > Create cust. Spec. status
    - Marital status  V_T502T   or Prnl. Mgmt. > Prnl. admn. > Personal data > Personal Data > Create Marital Status
    - Pay scale type V_t510A  or Prsnl mgmt. > Prsnl admn> Payroll data > Basic Pay > Check Pay Scale Type
    Thanks a ton,
    JEss..

    Hi
    I was able to do the translation for customer specific status and MArital status. For this, when logging in change the language to Thai > Use Tcode SU3 > on the second tab change the language to Thai. from here, everything comes in Thai. you can easily maintain it from there using your table or through SPRO.
    Thanks,

  • How to organize translation of customer developments

    Hello everybody,
    I am having a hard time finding documentation on how to organize translation of customer development objects. I've had a look at the articles in service.sap.com\globalization and also at the SAP Online documentation, but I am having trouble getting the overall picture.
    We have a 3-tier system landscape with installed languages english, german, italian and 2 clients in every system, one primarily used by german users, one for primarily italian users. In both clients, there are development activities, so we have ojects with original language german and others italian. Is it useful to create an extra client which is solely reserved for translation? What are the alternatives and what consequences do they have on the translation process?
    Anybody any experience on this topic? Where else could I find documentation on this topic?
    Thank you for your help, regard, Kathrin!

    Hi Kathrin,
    I've never seen these transactions before (SLWA/SLWB).  Every time you turn over a stone SAP presents another whole new raft of functionality that you didn't know about.
    From my experience (rolled out one European solution, in the process of doing another) however, I'm not sure that use of these is really required.  Maybe there is benefit but it seems a little excessive to me (after only a quick view).
    By before migration, I mean before moving to the next tier in your landscape (from DEV to QA).  So, one of the quality checks on all objects before they are allowed to leave the DEV system is checking to ensure that they are translated to all languages (by a native speaker for each language to check for accuracy).
    Hope that helps.

  • Help needed for translation of custom objects

    Hi All,
    We are currently in the process of upgrading from 11i to R12.1.3. We have a lot of custom reports and forms which needs to be translated based on language preference set at user level. The approach we have taken is as follows:
    1. Created one unique look up type for each of the custom objects.
    2. Each lookup code is mapped to a field of the custom object (report or form).
    3. Entered the translation for each of the lookup codes using Globe icon (Translation Form) available on the lookup form.
    4. When the user logs into his account, we are filterting out the record specific to user environment language using the condition:
    language of fnd_lookup_values = usernev('lang') and getting the translated labels for each of the fields in the custom object.
    Now what we would like to understand is if there is any other better way of doing translation based on user preferred language.
    We have heard about Oracle Translation Manager (OTM) but not sure how the same can be used in our case. Also we would like to know how Oracle does translation for the languages that are enabled in a particular instance. We would like to know if a similar approach can be followed for custom objects as well.
    Thanks & Regards,

    We had the arrayList/collections lecture today.
    I asked the teacher about sorting objects and he started explaining hashmaps and then he mentioned another thing which we will only be learning next term, I'm sure we must only use what we have learned.
    How exactly can this be done. I have asked a few questions in the post already.
    ThanksWell, there was probably a gap in the communication. Hash maps (or hash tables, etc.) are instance of Map. Those are used to locate a value by its unique key. Generally, to speed up access, you implement a hashing function (this will be explained hopefully in class). Think of name-value pairs that are stored where the name is unique.
    Contrast this with items that are sorted. Any List can be sorted because its elements are ordered. An ArrayList is ordered, generally, by the order you inserted the elements. However, any List can be given its own ordering via Comparable or Comparator. You can't do this with an ordinary Map. The purpose of a Map is speedy access to the name-value pairs, not sorting. The List likewise has different purposes, advantages, disadvantages, etc. List can be sorted.
    A Map is generally similar to a Set. A Set is a vanilla collection that guarnatees uniqueness of each element (note, not name-value pairs, but simple elements). There is one concrete class of Map that can be sorted, TreeMap, but I doubt your professor was referring to that. The values or the keys can be returned from the Map and sorted separately, but again, I doubt he was referring to that.
    Take a look at the Collections tutorial here on this site or Google one. It is fairly straightforward. Just keep in mind that things (generally) break down into Set, Map and List. There are combinations of these and different flavors (e.g., Queue, LinkedHashMap, etc.) But if you can learn how those three differ, you will go a long way towards understanding collections.
    (Oh, and be sure to study up on iterators.)

  • Translation of custom development

    Hi all,
    We are about to embark on a journey of translation... English to French.  We have all the information and understanding of what SE63 can provide for us.  What we are unclear on is strategies for the areas where SE63 does not cater for.  For example, how do we handle cases where there are hard coded literals?  Any tools, strategies to make this less painful?  Important to note we have over 3 million lines of custom code to get through, so a manual solution is not a good option.
    Looking for general comments on others experience in this area of Custom Development where the Standard Translation Environment doesn't meet all the needs.  Even if you have comments of areas that were a pain, but don't necessarily have all the answers.  Would appreciate comments on things we may not have thought of yet.
    Regards,
    Chris

    Hi Chris
    What I have seen at one of our customers was to get all customer program objects from TADIR, scan then and produce a report of what text literals were used where.  Still be a big job to replace these with text elements though.
    One of my colleagues suggested writing the ABAP to BABELFISH the literals and create the text-elements as the report runs, but I am of the opinion that this could be a mistake as BABELFISH can come up with some unusual translations.
    Good luck

  • Portal content translation with custom theme

    Dear Gents,
    I am experiencing a very strange problem.
    I have tried to change some english iview names to arabic using portal content translation. Since I wont understand properly what each word means, I used hindi names instead of arabic.
    So far so good.
    For this test user, I am using a brand new portal desktop with copied framework page.
    Everything works lovely when using SAP standard themes in my custom desktop But when I use my own theme, the theme does not load. I can see the roles and full navigation hierarchy, but without theme images or colors..
    Has anyone faced the similar issue before? Please guide
    Regards,
    Ankur Agarwal

    Hi Ankur,
    so when you log into the portal by using your theme than you will see your desktop but without any images and colors of your theme, isn't it?
    Are you sure you have define a proper desktop rule?
    So this desktop rule switch to your Portal Desktop?
    The desktop is assignt to the portal framework page and the theme?
    And the theme itself is stored successfully during the saving process?
    So perhaps open your theme once more and save it once more.
    But wait until you have really saved your theme. This takes time.....
    During saving of the theme all the needed css files will be created.
    Best regards

  • Suite Page Builder: Translations of Custom Catalog

    Hi Experts,
    We are creating some custom catalogs using Suite Page
    Builder Admin Page.
    Is it possible to perform any translations on the texts of
    the Catalog Title and of the titles of the chips that are included in the catalog?
    If yes can you please guide us on how to do this?
    Thank you very much in advance and Kind regards,

    Hi Michael,
    Thank you very much for your response.
    Indeed that is the correct note. This note has been released as a response
    to the relevant incident that we raised to SAP.
    For our case we also had to apply note 1960113.

  • SPAU - Node "translations" contains customer objects

    Hello,
    we're actually upgrading from 4.6B to ECC6.0. We've already done the SPDD. Now we're working on the SPAU. In the SPAU we find modified SAP objects - no problem. But in addition, we have a lot of customer objects in node translations (as far as I can see, all of these objects have a different source system, i.e. we perform the SPAU in DEV-system 1 and the source of the objects is DEV-system 2).
    My question is, why do these objects appear in SPAU and how to handle them (do we run into problems, when we do nothing)?
    btw - I've had already a look at the SAP docu and the OSS, but I couldn't find something related to this issue.
    Best regards
    Stephan

    Hello Suhas,
    thank again for your reply. Actually we're upgrading our development systems (we've already upgraded copies of our productive systems as sandbox systems -> even in the sandbox system, belonging to the original dev. system of the objects, the SPAU contains these customer objects). Now I'm waiting for the SPAU of the dev. system 1 (hopefully we will get it today). I'm really curious, if the objects will appear in the SPAU of this system, too (I don't think so - otherwise I'm completely confused).
    btw - if I logon to the system e.g. in frensh, all the translations are available, w/o doing anything in SPAU. Therefore I think it isn't mandatory to work on these objects in the SPAU, for application purposes.
    I wonder, why these objects appear in the SPAU and, if I do nothing in SPAU, if we'll run into problems in the future (e.g. with the next Hot package implementation).
    Best regards
    Stephan

  • Translation of custom texts thru se63

    Hi All,
    I have some hard coded texts inside windows. when i execute the form according to some conditions these texts must be displayed in english and as well as in french. will it possible for us to do the same using se63 transaction.
    Thanks,
    BJR.

    Hi,
    Sorry, but no. The translation of the form in SE63 applies to output language of the form.
    You should be able to do it using include texts in your form. Then you can assign an output language of the texts.

  • Translate customer name in different languages

    Hi All
    how can I translate the customer name in different languages.
    I tried to look in XD02 with no seccessed
    Please Help
    Thanks in Advance Kobi

    Hi Kobi,
    We cannot translate the customer name in differnt languages.
    if you want to create the customer in differnt languages first you should have the Access to Particular Languages that you are going to use in your Key board.at the time of  loging to the system you suppose to use that particular language after mentioning your user id and password.
    Please reward points if really helpful,
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Currency translation differences with an effect on earnings

    Product Version: SAP R/3 46.C
    Componente: EC-CS-CSF-E Currency Translation
    In currency translation program of ECCS (tx CX40) the prior year portion of translation differences that affects earnings is posted in current period in the earnings retain item (ER) which according to SAP documentation "Currency translation differences with subsequent consolidations" is correct, however when we run the currency translation on subsequents periods this amount is posted again generating a multiplying of differences on each period.
    In accordance with section u201CBu201D of SAP note 553586, the carryforward item (retain earnings) was assigned to translation key 5, to avoid multiplications of this difference in every execution of currency translation for current period. This correction was applied successfully, however the problem is now generated when we run the currency translation in every subsequent period.
    SAP notes 582815 and 553586 was applied succesfully.
    We also verified SAP note 1045402 changing the translation key 5 to 1, for balance carryforward item (retained earnings) this avoids the difference effect on subsequents periods, but  generates a translation differential effect undesired on this item, since this is a historical item that not must be altered by currency translation.
    Additionally we read SAP note 509509 and we think that this issue corresponds whit symptom 2 of that note.
    Step by Step:
    Transaction: CX40
    Setting of Translation SET in translation method:
    1.- MARS-GAP-Monetary:
    1.1.- Items of balance sheet
    1.2.- Translation Key 1
    1.3.-  Item for differences: income statement item with an effect on earnings
    2.- MARS-GAP-NonMonetary
    2.1.- Items of balance sheet
    2.2.- Translation Key 6
    2.3.-  Item for differences: income statement item with an effect on earnings
    3.-MARS-MOR-Monetary
    3.1.- Items of P&L
    3.2.- Translation Key 5
    3.3.-  Item for differences: income statement item without an effect on earnings
    4.-MARS-MOR-NonMonetary
    4.1.- Items of P&L
    4.2.- Translation Key 6
    4.3.-  Item for differences: income statement item without an effect on earnings
    5.- MARS-HIST
    5.1.- Items of balance sheet
    5.2.- Translation Key 6
    5.3.-  Item for differences: Balance sheet item without an effect on earnings
    6.- ANI-BS-FX
    6.1.- Items of differences SET MARS-HIST and Carryforward Item for special items in transaction CXD3, the same item for the balance carryforward (retained earnings)
    6.2.- Translation Key 5
    6.3.-  Item for differences: Balance sheet item without an effect on earnings (the same item for the SET MARS-HIST)
    7.- ANI-BS
    7.1.- The special balance sheet item in Transaction CXD3
    7.2.- Translation Key 5
    7.3.-  Item for differences, the same item
    8.- ANI-IS
    8.1.- The special income statement item in Transaction CXD3
    8.2.- Translation Key 5
    8.3.-  Item for differences, The same item
    Note:
    1 .- According to the point A of the note  553586 was included the FS Item 484051011(difference item for SET MARS-HIST)  in the conversion SET ANI-BS-FX
    2 .- According to Section B of the note 553586 was included the account for carried forward  481000001 the special accounts set up in the transaction CXD3 in the conversion SET ANI-BS-FX
    3 .- According to Section C of  note 553586 are included special accounts set up in the transaction CXD3 390000 and 251200, in the conversion SET ANI-IS and ANI-BS respectively.
    When run the currency translation in the new year 1-2011, the prior year portion of translation differences that affects earnings is posted in current period a credit to earnings retain and debit to account difference in SET for this account. This amount is same on special balance sheet item 251200, in tx CXD3, also found on the statistical FS item.
    Then in subsequent periods, 2 - 2011 it posting another credit to earnings retain and debit to account difference in SET for this account, generating a multiplying of differences on each period, even though the difference for this account (ER) in the log of the translation currency is equal to the difference posted to the previous period, show this in transaction CX34 for items of translation (1) for this account until 1-2011.

    Hi,
    just a information how I did a workaround about this:
    The opening (movement type 100) of the balance sheet item "differences of currency translation" is customized with "don't change...".
    Every increase  to "differences  of currency translation" works with e.g. movement type 120 and will be carried forward to 100.
    Maybe this is a scenario you can use...

  • Oracle Translation Builder: Japanese characters in question mark (????)

    Hi All,
    We need to translate a custom from labels from English to Japanese, so that both US and Japan can use that form.
    So we have used Oracle Translation Builder to specify the translation. As an initial step, we just changed the labels to some other english words. And now we have generated American .fmx and Japanese .fmx. And we are able to see the difference.
    Now in Oracle translation Builder(OTB), if i paste Japanese characters in the translation editor, we are able to see the Japanese characters. But if we save&close the OTB and re-open it, we see all the question(???) marks. Even if we generate/upload the Japanese.fmx to applications, we are seeing the same Japanese ??? marks in the applications.
    Can you please let me know, what am i missing...
    (I have installed the Asian language (ARIALUNI.ttf) in my local system.)

    May be You should set the environment variable NLS_LANG to "JAPANESE_JAPAN.WE8MSWIN1252" or "AMERICAN_AMERICA.JA16SJIS" will allow you to store Japanese providing the input data is truly JA16SJIS and if the database is also in a character set that can store Japanese like UTF8 or JA16SJIS).
    Or use Oracle Translation Hub it is useful tool. It replaces the OTB :-)

  • Translation of heading in Excel file.

    Hi frnd,
    My requirment is to send a report in excel format to the customer in customer language.
    The headings of each coulmns are translated to customer language format.
    I defined the column heading in Text symbols.
    Goto>text elements->text symbols.
    I have maintained the translation for each countries using:
    se63>translation->R3 enterprise->short text->S3 abap text---->REPT text elements.
    Here i give the object name as my report name and my desired languages.
    i could able to maintain the laguage.
    I am reading the heading using CALL FUNCTION 'LXE_OBJ_TEXT_PAIR_READ_RPT4'.
    My code:-
    y_lv_lang = y_wa_cust-LANGU.
      refresh y_it_label.
      CALL FUNCTION 'LXE_OBJ_TEXT_PAIR_READ_RPT4'
        EXPORTING
          t_r3_lang       = y_lv_lang
          s_r3_lang       = y_lv_lang
          o_r3_lang       = y_lv_lang
          objtype         = y_k_obtyp
          objname         = y_k_objn
         READ_ONLY       = 'X'
      IMPORTING
        PSTATUS         =
        tables
          lt_pcx_s1       = y_it_label
    Here the y_it_label will contain the translated colomn heading where as y_k_objn is the prog name ,y_k_obtyp is the object type which contain 'RPT4' and y_lv_lang contain the language.
    I am able to send report in excel format in customer language via mail. But when the customer is of Russia and ukrane the columns hedaing are printed as
    Ex:-
    'Material' is printed as    > 4  8 7 4 5 ; 8 O insted of of the russian language 'Код изделия'
    when my customer recieves the report as an excel file it gets the coulmn heading as this type wong character.

    Hi Sowmya,
    when you refer to my Excel Export tutorial on SDN: <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/0mQ">Exporting Table Data Using On-Demand Streams - SAP NetWeaver 7.0</a>:
    use <b>LinkedHashMap</b> instead of <i>HashMap</i>:
      private Map getProductColumnInfos() {
        Map columnInfosMap = new LinkedHashMap();
        columnInfosMap.put(IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.QUANTITY, "Quantity");
        columnInfosMap.put(IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.ARTICLE, "Article");
        columnInfosMap.put(IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.COLOR, "Color");
        columnInfosMap.put(IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.PRICE, "Price in EURO");
        columnInfosMap.put(
          IPrivateTableCompBasketView.IProductsElement.TOTAL__PER__ARTICLE,
          "Total Per Article In Euro");
        return columnInfosMap;
    This keeps the order of key-displaytext-pairs passed by the client (table component) to the service (excel export component) stable.

  • Webbean prompt translation - Text localization

    Hi !
    I'm working on a specific Oracle screen with JDev 9i. Everything works well but I have to localize all labels depending on the language chosen by the user while login.
    It seems that I have different solutions.
    For error messages, I used the Message Dictionnary but for webbean prompts I think it's quite annoying to load all the labels with java calls at the screen's loading and I'm looking for a more "sexy" solution.
    I read about using attribute sets or lookups but there is no further information, so I don't even know how to do this.
    Another question : The majority of the webbeans are binded to oracle attributes. I'd like to know if there is a simple way to get the "Display name" property of the attribute, as the standard does, so that the admin can change the prompts by changing the "Display name" of the appropriate attribute.
    Thanks a lot..

    JNIG,
    If I understand the question correctly, then the question is:
    1. How to translate a custom OAF page, thats been developed from scratch and hence has no personalization?
    - You have to use XLIFFExtractor to get the .xlf format of the file. Here is an example
    java oracle.jrad.tools.trans.extractor.XLIFFExtractor like - $APPL_TOP/admin/patch/oracle/apps/fnd/irec/worklist/webui/AdvancWorklistRG.xml
    - copy the .xlf file to language specific folder
    cp $APPL_TOP/admin/patch/oracle/apps/fnd/wf/worklist/ webui/customizations/site/0/US/AdvancWorklistRG.xlf
    $APPL_TOP/admin/patch/oracle/apps/fnd/wf/worklist/webui/customizations/site/0/FR/AdvancWorklistRG.xlf
    - Edit the .xlf file, change the <target-language> target value to appropriate language and manually translate all the text in the <target> tags
    - now upload both the custom page (use XMLImporter for .xml) and the .xlf file into the MDS (use XLIFFImporter for .xlf). Here is an example of XLIFFImporter
    java oracle.jrad.tools.trans.imp.XLIFFImporter -username APPSNAME -password APPSPWD -dbconnection "(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp) (HOST=yourserver)(PORT=yourport))(CONNECT_DATA= (SID=yoursid)))" $APPL_TOP/admin/patch/oracle/apps/fnd/wf/worklist/webui/ customizations/site/0/FR/AdvancWorklistRG.xlf
    This way you would translate every displayed text on the page.
