Nokia 101 is not playing half my MP3 files

Bought a new Nokia 101 couple days ago.
Installed an SD card with several MP3 files (mostly audio books, some music). All these files play without a hitch on all devices I'v tried them on - right from bare basic phones, smartphones to comps.
Bit I find that a approx half of them won't play on the Nokia 101!. Error message displayed - "File format not supported. Please select another song".
Discovered that this phone has a ridiculous limitation of not being able to play MP3 files of bitrate lower than 32 kbps. So checked all the files and after eleminating the < 32 kbps files, it is still not playing about half the files that are well above 32 kbps. The other half or is, it plays well. So its not like the MP3 player is totally broken.
What could be the issue? Please help, as I need the phone to play these files if it is to be of any use to me.
Quite disappointed with Nokia, as no other phone or player has such issues with playing anything.

@Srikant - Are you sure? Nokia Care told me on phone that it can be done; and asked me to bring the phone. My concern is that I currently don't have the time for it, and was hoping to find some solution here. Nothing is worse than having to take the time and effort for taking a brand new product for service.
I don't see a PC interface port on the 101 like the one on my 1112. But I don't know if there is one inside the cover or something... haven't checked.
While we would all like to use MP3s of high bitrates, its not always a choice we can make. I have some files of <32 kbps, and I now know this amazing phone can't play them. But I really don't understand why it isn't playing half my files that are in the whereabouts of 50 kbps. Its not possible to get these files at originally higher bitrates. I guess I could try to encode these files at higher bitrates, but thats not going to increase their quality! Besides, these are audio books and no music, so the files at existing bitrate are fairly good. And really, why should I be spending time in doing all this, when every other phone, including very basic ones can play these files on the same SD card without a hitch?
I mainly bought this phone as a secondary phone for some voice calling and for its MP3 player. It fails badly at both jobs as its single speaker design makes any privacy on calls impossble - everyone around can hear the opposite person loudly. And as an MP3 player it fails for the reason above, for having a barely ok speaker (not quite good enough even for audio books) and for being so bare bones as to not even have a seek option, which is a REALLY bad thing when you are listening to audio books.
Even no-name Chinese phones can do a better job.

NOkia 101 rm 769 brought to canada not working wit...

Hi,
When I was in Asia, i got a Nokia 101 RM 769. I took it with me to Canada to replace my stolen Nokia, but it is not working with my provider's SIM card (CHATR). How come?? What should I do?
There is not information on the website, no way to talk to someone at custumer service...
The provider checked the IMEI number, says its not working.
Help!

Nokia 101 - Summary After Call option missing?

Hey guys,
So I recently got a light set for my everyday use, it's the Nokia 101 with 6.65FW installed...
Now I'm confused as I cannot find the "SUMMARY AFTER CALL" option anywhere on the phone !
For those who don't know what it is, it shows how long was the call made, in other words the call's duration after the call has been ended.
Does anyone else see the option on their sets?
Also I cannot see lifetimer when I dial *#92702689#

Hi Synv,
from memory the 101 runs on Series 30 operating system, which doesn't have the Summary After Call option available. I too found it didn't have this setting, when i looked on my 1616 which is also a Series 30 Nokia phone. There's nothing anyone can do about this lack of feature.

Nokia 101 - Assign SIM to contact

Hello everybody, I just got a Nokia 101 (FW 7.20) and I noticed there is the option to assign SIM1 or SIM2 to text or calls.
Is it possible to set a specific SIM to a specific contact, so that all communication (call + text) with that contact goes through that SIM?
I use the phone for work and I'd like to use the Work SIM for the Work contacts, and the private SIM for the private contacts.

Nokia 101 - install new dictionaries?

Hi everyone,
my Nokia 101 doesn't have the selection of T9 dictionaries I need. Is there a way to install another dictionary, or replace an existing one?
More about my situation: I bought this dual-sim phone in Sweden, and the languages I have are English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Icelandic. I'd like to use English, Swedish, German and French. The phone has a uSD slot, at least, so it might be possible.

Nokia 101 Nightmare

I have unfortunately bought a Nokia 101 and have inserted the memory card (Sandisk Ultra 8gb) for the MP3 player. the memory card has 138 songs but the Nokia only shows 36 songs. The memory card shows on my PC that it has 138 songs, and they are all the same format.
So what gives with this nightmare of a phone? Anyone encountered this problem before?

2. check type of files, the 101 is a basic, cheap phone. might need to transcode the music files.
Just because the files show up on a PC doesnot mean they are suitable to be used on the 101. Maybe take a breath and not take this negative attitude on this as it is far more likely you are doing something wrong here.

Nokia 101 doesn't support data transfer via USB, it is a device intended for basic use. It supports micro SD card upto 16Gb.

i just got a nokia 101.
Really happy with it as i have a dual sim and no need to carry 2 phones all the time. Moreover both the sims are online so i can get call on any sim - no need to select switching.
I have also taken a 8 GB micro SD card for the 101 as in offer.
Okay here is my doubt -
THE PHONE BY DEFAULT HAS 1000 ENTRIES OF CONTACTS THAT CAN BE STORED
I HAVE A 8 GB SD CARD.
CAN I SAVE ALL THE PHONE ENTRIES (CONTACTS) TO THE 8GB SD CARD?
Please advise.

Nokia E71 Housing panel replacement

Recently I changed my nokia e71 housing panel but I was replaced with out microphone panel and USB/memory card rubber I want to know whether the both will come with with the housing panel or we need to buy them separately
why I am asking is at some nokia centers they are giving with USB/memory card rubber and some are telling that we need to get them separately
to my bad where I replaced the panel there I did not get these two
please advice

A genuine E71 cover should come with the USB/MicroSD covers attached to the cover.
Did the Nokia Center fit the cover or did they sell you the part to fit yourself??

Hello everyone I've recently bought a Nokia N8 silver version from vodafone RO.Anyway I've dropped it a few times and I've wanted to ask if there's any hope in replacing the housing cover?Of course I will pay for it as it's most likely not under guaranty.Anyway is it possible?Also can I get a black color case even if I had silver before?Also what would be the price if I went to Nokia Care Center for a replacement? I am experiencing exactly the same problem. I recently purchased Nokia 3555 and HS-49 headset to listen to music in stereo. However, I only get mono sound from the right. I called customer care services before I purchased HS-49 and they said it's compatible with Nokia 3555. Yes, I can listen to music, but it's not in stereo. I turned on "stereo widening effect," but it doesn't change anything.
Accoring to the catalog on the web, the phone has stereo bluetooth capability...So, I think it should also produce stereo sound through a wired stereo headset especially with HS-49 which is listed as a compatible headset.
I really appreciate if anybody can teach me how to listen to music in stereo on my Nokia 3555.

Nokia 101 will not access Contacts on either SIM c...

Each SIM card operates for calls or SMS.
Phone will not touch (read or create) Contacts on either SIM card, says "SIM card not available" end of story.
Phone has no USB socket of any kind, menus do not mention BlueTooth, so I cannot relay Contacts via a PC or whatever.
Reset To Factory failed when done via dialling *#7780# then asked for Security Code, went ahead when done via menus. No change in behaviour.
SIM works fine when replaced into a Nokia C1-01.
What next?

The device needs to be inspected at authorised Nokia Care Centre.

Hi, does anyone know how to change the covers on the Nokia 5310. The keypad on mine has broken and I need to replace it, not sure how to do this and cant find anything on the internet. Thanks

It's not designed to be changed by the user and you will most likely cause more damage (especially to the microphone or speakers) if you attempt to open it.
You should visit a nokia care point/service centre and ask them to repair it using official nokia parts.
