Nokia "does not" Care ! [6681 Burns out while maki...

Being a very avid and keen cell phone user ever since GSM services were available i've used a wide range of handsets right from the extinct siemens S6 to the latest Nokia N Series, after much thought and contemplation i finally decided to go back to a Nokia again from my Sony Ericsson P900, and i decided to buy a 6681 and it suits my needs, meets my style factor, Its been less than three months since I bought the phone from an Authorized Nokia Distributor, Now let me describe to you what just happend with my phone :
The Experience
I took my phone to make a call, put it against my ear after dialling the number, and wait for the call to connect,i feel my phone heating up against my face and then it pull it away as it gets very hot, the next thing i notice is that the phone has gone off and there is smoke coming out of the speaker vent and i remove the back panel to find a super hot battery that almost burns my hand and more smoke coming out from there, now upon inspection at a Nokia Care Center, in Jaynagar, Bangalore (INDIA) headed by a Mr. Naveen, it was reported that a resistor is burnt in the lower part of the circut board and it was opened clearly and demonstrated in front of me, I was adviced to approach "BRIGHTPOINT Communication" which is the biggest Nokia Care in my city as they are the only ones capable of fixing this

So i approach Brightpoint communcations as adviced promptly, and when i walk in i find a hall with atleast about 100 people waiting, some yelling impatiently (i'd understand their need to be impatient as the Air conditioning has been deliberatily turned off in a closed room, it just adds to the frusturation !) and approach the Counter, where a very rude woman asks me to write my name and take a number and wait for my name to be called out before i can be attended, i oblige despite my plight, and take a number, After 2 (yes Two !!) whole hours, my name is finally called and im let into a small cabin that has 4 people assisting customers, I take a seat and describe my problem to him and ask him if they've ever had a similar case before, he says NO never and then quicky changes his words say, that is has before ! Nevermind that, even before inspecting my phone he says "Nokia does not offer any warranty for phones that are burnt or water logged" , u think i set my phone on fire ? or offered it a cigar maybe ??! and then he opens it and says it will be covered under warranty as its only a resistor that's burnt and promises it to be fixed in 3 days, i doubt that will seriously happen after my past experiece 2 years ago with nokia when i owned a 3650 that was held at a service center for 6 months for a software fix that they didnt have or could not get. Never mind that too !
My point here is, what were the chances that i could have been seriously injured if the battery had to explode in my face ? Does nokia even test its products fully before its released to a consumer ? This time im not going to keep quiet about this, I have already written a e-mail to Nokia that has not been responded to, so this is my last resort, If anyone from Nokia is reading this, I'd like to ask in the most polite and diplomatic way, how u can help me out here ?? Because, I have no faith in that phone again that it might not happen a second time and the next appointment will be maybe with a Plastic Surgeon and not Nokia Care !

Nokia takes product safety very seriously. I advise you to immediately call your local Nokia Care and tell them what has happened. I think they will be interested in hearing about this and they should also be able to answer all your concerns.

Large file download does not start and times out while loading

I've been trying to download movie files from a website and it does not work. When I click on the link, the download begins preliminarily, but does not seem to actually start downloading the file. It stays like this:
The MBs continue to go up for a while, but a download progress bar never appears (just the spinning striped bar) and I never get a time remaining on the download. After a few minutes the download just fails, and it says something like "network error." I've tried it on Chrome, FireFox, and Safari and the result is always the same.
I asked someone at the company about it, and he said they never heard of this problem and that their downloads work for other customers. Is this a problem on my end or their end?
Does anyone know what the problem may be? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I don't know what route Apple will take. Sure, they can boot it in firewire mode and try to reinstall
the update, but in the interest of time or other factors they may take another route.

"This disc does not allow more burns" message - iPhoto bug

A strange behavior in iPhoto 6 :
Easy to reproduce, it happens all the time (on my machine at least).
* Select a couple of pictures (+/- 150 MB)
* Go to Share > Burn
* Insert a blank CD
* Burn.
OK, it burns nicely. But ...
* Eject the CD
* Put that CD back in the computer to read the pictures.
* I have the message "This disc does not allow more burns. Insert a Blank CD"
* Then iPhoto ejects the CD.
Workaround ?
* Quit iPhoto
* Insert the CD again
* It reads and works OK.
Anyone the same trouble ?

I just encountered that problem this morning. I quit iPhoto and put the burned disc back in and saw in the finder that the burn worked. I did not try opening iPhoto again.
But ... I did just try to put that disc into another Mac. While the disc loaded in iPhoto, it did not show any thumbnails. I had to manually drag the photo originals from the disc into iPhoto to import them.
Anyone else like to chime in on this?

You need to go back to the person you bought it from. Sounds like they may have sold you phone that is not as described.

This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

For double NAT the reset didn't work at first and I had to unplug all the connections but eventually got it back. I also checked "Enable detection of router-behind-router conditions" in the RG. Not sure if that did anything but I'm not seeing any AE warnings anymore.

cursor does not click the sign-out button in yahoo, rediff etc pages. E.G once I open my yahoo page, the cursor pointer will not change it's appearance to the finger type when I try to click the sign-out or inbox button. This does not happen with chrome or explorer.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar or the Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

[SOLVED] after upgrade : /sbin/init does not exist. Bailing out, ...

hi, after having upgraded today my archlinux, I cannot boot it. I get the following message : "ERROR: Root device mounted successfully, but /sbin/init does not exist. Bailing out, you are on you own. Good luck."
The last time the system was upgraded was in june 2013, before the "Binaries move to /usr/bin requiring update intervention" advisory (https://www.archlinux.org/news/binaries … ervention/). So before upgrading I followed the instructions given in this article and was able to upgrade. But after reboot I got the error message I'm reporting here.
Here is a copy of the config I'm using to boot arch in grub:

It's now much better. But a lot of errors are reported and the system hangs, but still rebootable with Ctrl + Alt + Del.

My Imac G5 spits blank DVD's out...does not let me burn.

Is there an update I can perform for the DVD drive or something I can do to make this work? The computer accepts blank CD-R's and audio CD's and DVD's but I can get blank DVD's to work. The batch of DVD's is one that I have used in the past and have burned many DVD's from so I can't understand why it stops accepting these.
I also tried a different brand of DVD and it does not accept those as well. Please help. Thank you!

Your drive may need cleaning. Cleaning kits can be purchased from any store that sells CD/DVDs.
Make sure the DVDs are not dirty, scratched and/or smudged. Also make sure they are high quality.

My Toshiba L305 - Both Buttons Broken (AGAIN) - TOSHIBA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS

So my left button broke (i didn't do anything) and so since it was under warranty, I was directed to a local authorized repair shop and they had to order the whole new keyboard that includes the little piece of junk plastic piece underneath the button. They fixed it the same day as I watched them and they did a perfect job. They also showed me the little cheap, litte, junky little piece of plastic that supported both buttons and that broke in my case. We both concluded that of course it would break again. Anyway, time goes by and the inside of the power piece broke off. So we go through the same routine. I go to the repair shop, they fix it and they say its common. In this case they even somehow strenghtened it so it would not happen again! So more time goes by (still under the year warranty as of Dec 21, 2009). Now, both my buttons again no longer work (big suprise). So since it is still under warranty, I call Toshiba but now they are saying they changed the rules since two Mondays ago and that I can no longer take it to that local authorized repair center (even though they rocked) but now I have to send in my laptop to Toshiba's official repair center. Needless to say, i wouldn't get my laptop back for 10 days. I run my business from my laptop so how on earth can I send it in? Anyway, I fought a lot with them on the phone and even got to the 'top' of the customer relations department, a frustrated lady named Mina, but she says there is nothing else they can do. No loaner, no replacement, can't get my money back, etc. The only thing I can do is send in my work laptop and not have it for 10 days. So what is ironic is I purchased a Toshiba laptop because I heard they were one of the best made computers. I now know that I was GREATLY misinformed. This is the worst situation I have ever seen in a computer business. The good news is that I am in IT and have lots of clients and so now I have the priviledge of telling my clients to run from Toshiba. I write all this for any of you out there who may have the same problem (because I am positive there will be many more since it is a tiny little piece of plastic underneath your buttons). It is clear to me that this is a defect.
My two big problems with this whole thing:
1. How can anyone expect someone to not have their laptop that they use to run a business for 10 days?
2. Why even have it fixed it if is just going to brake again?
3. So because of the 3 defects of this computer, now Toshiba is punishing me further!
If anyone is reading this who is thinking about buying a toshiba laptop, DON'T DO IT. Save yourself a lot of time, frustration and punishment from the company called, 'Toshiba'. Go with a Dell. Go with anything other than Toshiba. I will say it again: Tosbiba laptops are defective and Toshiba's policies show that they clearly don't care about the customers!

At least Toshiba is covering your repairs under Warranty. My ex-wife's new HP had one of the touchpad buttons break on her system and they want $400 bucks to fix it claiming that physical damage like that isn't covered.

Verizon does not care one bit about the 5% heavy user base, They want you GONE!

In making several calls and asking pretty much the same questions to different people at Verizon Customer Service, I have come to a few surprising conclusions (well sorry, not surprising).
1.) An opperator pretty much told me they do have information NOW about what is going to be happening with the new plans, but has been instructed to NOT release it. In other words, they don't want you to know the truth about what's going to go down, until it's too late.
2.) Most of the opperators I talked to kept saying the same things, "Well sir even those you use around 6-8 gigs of data a month, 95% of our user base does not". See this is where I get mad. And I replyed with, "Well I really don't care what OTHER people are using for data, that is there business and there needs, if your plans suit there needs then fine, but I'm not concerned about them, I'm talking about MY usage needs, and your talking to me, and should be worring about what the customer you are currently talking to is needing". All this does is prove my point, that Verizon can give one crap about the heavy user base. Wow people whom actually USE what they pay for? Unlimited data, means I can use 100 Gigs if I wanted to. If you didn't like people taking full advantage of what they were offerened and paid for, then you should have never made it an option in the first place! Just like when the Cell Companies too away roll over mins. If I paid for X amount of mins, they should roll over, BECAUSE I PAID FOR THEM! O but once time my service was out and I said, "Ok, how much do I get credited back, since you failed to provide me with uninterupted service for a month I'm paying for, I want a credit, I don't care if it's 5 cents.." They didn't know what to say. Wow a customer wanting what he pays for and calling foul when he doesn't get it, what a concept.
Anyway, thought I would share this with any fellow heavy users. Soon as my pre-paid card and my HTC Nexus One S get here, I'm buying out of the remaining contact, and NEVER comming back. At this point it's about the companies lack of integrity! So CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!!!?

Along with what you said about how the phones are gobbling up more and more data, wouldn't it make more sense that we should have MORE to our data plans not less. And if it's is a strain on there network, that would tell me they are trying to sell a produce and/or service and don't have the means to support it. And then in stead of investing to update there network to handle the traffic, they in turn punsh people who use what they pay for (I don't know why people don't understand the meaning of UNLIMITED). I would think, unless they have some brain dead people running the show, that when they first put the unlimited plan out there that they would have a percentage of users that would be HUGE power users, and would gobble up the GB's. So I find it hard to believe that it was a big surprise to them to have 5% of the people be heavy users. But no matter, they can change what they want, per there contract, and I can buy out and leave, per my own choice. And that's what I'm doing. So problem solved. They can find millions of others to screw over, I just won't be one of them anymore..

Idvd does not sync when burning to dvd

I am using a MacBook Pro with OSX, FCP 7 and iDVD 7 or 8 (it's burning now, so can't confirm). I have a 64 minute video (that includes motions, etc in iDVD. I exported the FCP to QT movie using the default settings. Everything remains in sync in FCP and iDVD. When I burn to a disc, it goes out of sync about half way through the movie. I have searched for solutions in the support community but things I have tried do not work.
I have one more question, but I may have to go to FCP community. I export to QT with default settings. Is there another way to export that does not compress so much?

I did notice the "sequence" indicated 32 bit and all the clips, wav music, etc. are 16 bit. Is that normal?
May be but I would.
• Convert all material to formats that FinalCut has easy to use and that match the Final product (Movie)
• especially the Audio file .wma, wav etc and 32-bit - is no good start
- convert them to .aiff 16-bit 44.1kHz or 48kHz
• Set up a NEW Project - BUT FIRST select - right kind of project depending on material - AND FINAL MOVIE PROPERTIES.
THEN FIRST - Start a NEW PROJECT - Else it will not work.

Control does not stay in case structure while using motion VIs

Hi,
I have a motion control card PCI 7344 connected to my PC. I am able to control the motor at the required speed till the required position using an encoder. Now I have put my motion control VIs in a case structure in such a way that, if Case1 is selected then the motor should to position P at speed S, if case 2 is selected then the motor should move to position Q at speed S and if case3 is selected then the motor should to position R at speed S. I am selecting cases 1,2,3 etc. by scanning a set of numbers seperated by spaces which look like this,
1 2 5 7 3
This number scanning is done using a while loop. Now, when the first number is scanned in the above set of numbers. The number 1 is obtained and the control is switched to case1. But before the motor reaches position P, the control switches to case2 and before completing the execution, the program scans case5 and so on. That means that the control does not stay till the move in the case 1 is completed. I'm sure there must be a way to retain the control to a case and stop the next number to be scanned before the functions in the particular are completely executed. I thought of one method, i.e. by using the move complete VI provided in LabVIEW, but I could not implement it. Please help me out with this.

Hi,
Our motion controllers allow you to preemptively start a move in the middle of a current move. For example if you are moving from point A to B and based on some logic, you determine you need to immediately start moving to point C. A preemptive move allows you to just load the new target position and call start. You do NOT have to first stop the current move and then start the new move.
In your case, you want the first move to complete before the second move starts. There are two ways to handle this. First, wait for the move to complete via a Wait For Move Complete function/VI call, or use the Check For Move Complete function/VI in a loop. Second, use Blend Start instead of the regular start. A Blend Start (if blend factor is set to 0) waits for the first move to complete before the second move starts.

Hello Friends,
I am trying to post GR from BAPI 'BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE' but some time it post successful and some time it does not post..gives error 'Document does not contain any items'....i have search all option but did not get any solution why this error is coming....kindly help me if you have any information regarding that.
The strange thing is i have alrady posted GR with some test data and later on again am trying to post GR with same test data but it is giving error as above.
For your information...i am using enhancement spot in standard program for GR posting...could it give any problem.

Solved by my self...problem was i were using enhancement spot in standard program because of this it was creating problem have search new enhancement spot and put my code out there now it is working fine.
