Please, I need help (who doesn't)
I have Nokia E71 and i trying to connect to cisco ASA but i get "Unable to activate VPN connection" and under log there is "Failed to activate VPN access point 'xyz' reason code -5".
I created vpn policy through Nokia configuration tool and i'm using Nokia VPN client 3_1_081126.
I don't see any packet on debug that comes to Cisco device.
Thanks,
Please help!
Are you all using the latest version of MfE?
I have had issues with 2.9.158 with a bug that causes the handset to become disconnected after a short while. I cured this by reverting back to 2.7.

There are some details in that thread above that may help with your problems if you are running version 2.9
I would have a look there first, whilst it doesn't detail the specific problem it might be related to the problems that you are experiencing.
Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black

Cheersguys we all used e-series before, try moving the messages to the 'other' memory from the messaging app settings, what i mean is if they were on the memorycard move them to the internal memory, if they were on the internal memory card, move them to the memory card.
if that didn't work, jus backup everything, hard reset, and restore everything (skip the settings in the backup/restore) .
Reality is wrong....dreams are for real... 2pac .

Unable to establish VPN connection on rv016 router through QuickVPN
We have an RV016 router with a VPN tunnel configured for remote access called Home. I installed the QuickVPN software that came with the router and tried to establish a connection. I get an error right away stating that a connection couldn't be established and lists some probable problems. I downloaded the latest QuckVPN application and again tried to get a connection and get the same problem. When I check the wget_error file it says bad port number. I have the software configured to use Auto for the port number. I also disabled the firewall as suggested and still the same error. It's an XP client with SP3. Is there a way to tell what port the tunnel is using and maybe set that port number and maybe get a connection?
Ok, try to do the following:
- Go to the VPN clien Accounts and generate a new certificate, DO NOT EXPORT IT.
- On the local machine, remove the previous certificate.
- Try to connect again, you will see a warning message in regards to the certificate, hit NO and continue.
Hopefully that will get it to work. -
Nokia N95 - unable to activate mass storage mode
I'm having trouble with my Nokia N95 8Gb and mass storage mode.
WWhen I can eventually activate this mode after shutting down apps (just intellisync and location tracker), it usually lasts no more than 90s before the phone reboots itself.
This makes copying music rather difficult since
- The music apps on pcsuite/nseries pcsuite are useless and crash on any attempt to sync (Vista x64)
- Nokia music doesn't see the phone
- file copy in pcsync is slow
- USB mass storage mode doesn't work (ie for using iTunes sync)
I'm on the v20 software.
Any ideas?
I love my N95 8Gb -- but this is why people but iPhones/iPods... it's just too hard.07-Jul-2008 10:12 PM

Thanks for the hint. However I'd rather not do this just yet. I'd prefer to figure out which app is in error.
So Q: Can one retrieve the cause of a phone crashing/rebooting? Is there a "system dump" ????.........
Point taken, but more often than not it's the O/S itself that is causing a problem, hence the need to perform the reset. And I don't think there is a core dump anywhere that you can examine. Even if there was, would it mean anything to you? You don't know what system variables are where (there won't be any debug symbols) and I'd challenge you to reverse engineer the system stack (if you knew where it was) in order to find the point in execution where the failure occurs.
This is, of course, assuming it is a software problem. If the problem persists after a reset and, optionally, a firmware reinstall, then it could well be a hardware problem that a Nokia Care Point should take a look at.

How to make CSD call in NOKIA E71
Hello,
I bought two Nokia E71 mobiles with BSNL 3G connection. My service provider(BSNL) providing 3G service. E71 is connected to PC there i dialed to another phone which is conneted to other PC. when i dialed from hyperterminal in winxp by using ATD commnad with out semicolon. I am getting connection error messge on my phone. NO CARRIER on hyper terminal.
I don't know what the problem is i tried with all commands no use. Is there any setting required for NOKIA E71. How to make data call (CSD call) by using Nokia E71.
You help is very much appreciated..
-VijenderHi
this may or may not be of help.
I was having a similar problem with a 6230i.
When trying to make a data call the No Carrier signal would come back.
After some research I changed +cbst form 0,0,1 to 7,0,1
at+cbst=7
This apparently gives the receiving modem more time to connect. It sends the no carrier signal 30 seconds later after appearing to connect, I still dont get the connect 9600 response. -
Nokia E71 possible to auto-activate bluetooth only...
Nokia E71- possible to auto-activate bluetooth only when receive s call?
I have Nokia J bh-806 bluetooth which activates only when remove it from clip. This way it saves bluetooth battery. I wonder if is possible to auto turn on phone bluetooth with some application ,only when receive a call because since I activate it bluetooth battery of the phone (e71) is reduced to 50%.Hi,
There's no application that can do that actually. and the phone itself does not have the said feature. You have to manually turn on the bluetooth of the phone if you want to connect to your bluetooth headset.

Nokia E71 Connect to PC Ridiculous
Hey, I have spent the past 2 days trying to connect my laptop to the internet using the connection from my Nokia E71.
I have tried everything I can to get it to connect, including using
- Nokia PC Suite
- Ovi Suite
- Nokia PC Internet Access
I have been able to successfully establish a connection with my exetel account using both Ovi and Internet Access however when I open up a browser to use the internet, it simply doesn't work. PC suite is a little less co-operative, If i make a connection in Nokia PC internet access and then click connect to internet in Nokia PC suite it says it is connected however If I try to connect using Nokia PC suite I get an error.
I have literally spent hour upon hour trying to solve this problem. I have not read of anyone else having this problem and am unable to understand why I am having such incredible and frustrating difficulty achieving such a simple task.
When not connected to the computer, I can browse the internet using the phones dataplan.
Also, If i check the status of the connection, there are packets being sent and recieved. I have tried multiple browsers.
Please help me, thanks in advance.

Don't use PCSuite and OVI at the same time (driver issues). Uninstall one of them. Check your firewall and make sure your PC browser is set to online.

Using the personal hotspot feature on the iPhone 5, I am able to connect to the internet. We also use Juniper NCP client to access our local system from a remote location. A VPN connection is created, but I am unable to access servers in our network. This same functionality works using my colleagues iPhone 4.
Both phones are running iOS 6.1.3. I tried to reset network settings, but still unable to ping servers in our network. This is a feature that our sales team relies heavily on when out of the office. Hoping someone has some suggestions on what is different between the 2 phones.Hi,
Generally, this issue should be related with something called split tunneling, since you’re using a F5 vpn client, you need to look for something related to split tunneling in the F5 VPN client's documentations.
Here is an example, share it with you as a reference.

In addition, you can refer to the link below for more solution about this problem.

Unable to access local resources or RDP over VPN Connection
Dear Tech People.
I have a Windows 7 computer that I have created a VPN service through Windows on. I am able to connect to the VPN from outside of my network with my Macbook Air. However, I am unable to connect to the computer via RDP, nor can I ping my PC that
I am VPN'd into (192.168.1.252). When I am connected, the IP address that I am assigned, is 192.168.1.150. When I run ipconfig /all, I can see the "RAS < Dial In> Interface for VPN, and it is setup with an ip address of 192.168.1.151
with a /32 subnet mask. There is no default gateway listed, which is why I believe that this is not working. I cannot determine any way to make this change.
Basically, I have a VPN connection that I can do nothing with. I cannot access shared resources, nor can I start a remote desktop session. The pass through is setup for PPTP with my router, which I believe is working, as I couldn't even connect
prior to this. Below is the full results of my ipconfig /all command on my Windows PC:
C:\Users\Zach>ipconfig /all

Connecting laptop to nokia E71
Hi i just got a Nokia E71 from straight talk i was wandering if i could use it to connect my laptop to the internet if so how can i do that. I have downloaded pc suite on my computer but its having trouble connecting to the internet. Thanks in advance for the help
Hi, check out this tutorial first to make sure you do it the correct way: http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/pc-suites/how-to/connect-to-the-web
If your device is brand new, I would check that you have the right internet acces point settings installed in your device. If you are missing internett and mms settings, you should usually be able to get them from your service providers internet site. If you cannot find it there, give them a call.
You will have to connect using your service providers net on your phone, beware of that if you don't have a surf plan, I would check out the costs. -
Got an (unlocked) iphone 4s from US and tried activating in India but it throws an error saying 'unable to activate bcos the activation server cannot be reached' ..I tried connecting to itunes through my laptop but it does not detect my iphone..pls help

Got an (unlocked) iphone 4s from US
As kb1951 states, unless this phone was purchased directly from Apple, it is not officially unlocked. In the US, only Apple sells officially unlocked iPhones. The message you got generally means your phone was hacked to unlock it...jailbroken...Apple's servers have detected such & are preventing your phone from activating...there's nothing wrong with the activation servers.
You'll need a sim card from the carrier your phone is locked to in order to activate it. If you don't know what carrier, you'll have to call AppleCare in the US to determine this info. Be aware, US carriers will not authorize official unlocking unless you are a customer that used the phone on their network. Thus, there is most likely no way for you to get this phone officially unlocked.

Nokia E71 Mail for exchange "Connection Error. Try...
Hi
I have used /Nokia E71 with latest MfE, i got my details from my Employers Microsoft outlook 2007 like exchnage server, domain and user name.
I just want to synchronise E-mails, whenever i try to synchronise i get "Connection Error. try Later".
Please help me , i am just stuck on that,Try following the below steps and let me know if we still have the problem.
Choose Yes to create a profile.
Enter these items
E-mail address - e-mail address of your exchange server
Domain - Domain name of your exchange server - Your Exchange Administrator can provide this information
Username - Domain username
Password - email password
Access point - choose the connection you are using. Most likely this is your data plan cellular connection
The Exchange Server will be discovered and populated for you automatically in most cases. If the Exchange server is not discovered, select the Exchange Server field and enter your server information given to you by your email administrator.
Verify the Secure connection is set to Yes. Change to No only if your Exchange Administrator dictates the change. The wrong value will make the connection fail.
Press Options
Select Save
From here you can verify if all is setup correctly by watching the Current status.
Press Options
Select Exit
