Here are my main gripes with Ovi Suite:
1. PC Suite was better and faster.
2. Takes about 3-4 minutes to connect the phone.
3. When syncing contacts no opition to make the phone no. 1 priority for sync, therfore you often end up with multiple copies of same contact and/or deleted contacts re-appearing - probably from Ovi online and Ovi Suite.
4. Doesn't recognise personal folders in messages.
5. Often crashes when syncing contacts.
C'mon Nokia get your act together

workaround to fix crash is to disable synch contacts with ovi.com - many people have the same problem with many phones and o/s but it appears either Nokia does not care, or never looks in here or inthe Beta Labs area where the same undocumented feature is reported

Adobe, when can you get your act together?
I just installed Master Collection CS6 on a new machine and updated it to the latest versions.
But, the installer is still so utterly stupid and I have been complaining about that for years, filed numerous feature requests, but nothing happens. It is still the same approach as three years ago and nothing has improved.
What do I mean:
Every program in the Suite installs up to 40+ languages in the AMT directory, it repeats that in the Legal directory, then again repeats that in the OBLRes directory , sometimes even in the LMResources and RegLoc directory.
On a typical install this eats up more than 3 GB of space, just in order to show me the EULA in Afghan, Rumenian, Finnish, Arabic, Mandarin, Bulgarian, Taiwanese and what have you. Not only that, these files are replicated a multitude of times, slow down the download and installation and require quite some effort to get rid of that crap.
Adobe, why can't you make a simple installer like Microsoft that installs in either the selected language or the location that is set for the computer.?
There is no use for me to see your legal rights in one of the many (for me) unintelligible languages. Make it simple and save people time and around 3-4 GB space. Additionally, store all that crap in a central place like Adobe/Common, instead of replicating this all over the place for each and every application in the Suite.
Since you have never done anything with my earlier feature requests, this may be the better way to get your attention.

I will certainly be happy to pass on your feedback. So that I can also verify this behavior can you confirm which operating system you are installing on? By the reference to Adobe/Common it would appear you are using a Windows operating system?

Why is installation so complicated? Why can't Adobe and Microsoft get their act together?
I was offered an update to Flash Player. Downloaded it but then was told I had to agree to the licensing agreement but it will not show me the agreement except for a few lines of it. Why do you make things so complicated? Explorer tells me there is a know compatibility problem with Adobe. (I'm running a 32 bit Vista system.) Why can't Adobe and Microsoft get their act together?
I don't know what (exactly) your problem is, or what Microsoft has to do with it, but did you click the little checkbox left of "I have read and agree..."?

Has anyone overcome an issue with logging in to a Citrix server and getting the following message: Contact your help desk with this information: cannot create connection file “CitrixID”? I can log on, but once logged in, the apps available to me will not launch. All worked fine before I upgraded to OS X Mavericks. I do a lot of foreign travel and Citrix kept me connected to the office. Unfortunately, our IT team aren't really "Mac Guys" so they are just as perplexed as I am. I have deleted and deleted Citrix Receiver several times as posts on other sites recommended, but to no avail.

Yes, they can play games - there are hundreds if not thousands of games available in the iTunes Store. Beware of the "free" games; many are free for the base game but charge for things like additional levels, "coins" etc. and those paid add-ons can add up quickly, to dozens or even in some cases hundreds of dollars. I'd strongly suggest you set up restrictions on the iPad to prevent your children from making unauthorized purchases. See:

You will need an Internet provider of some sort; Apple is not a provider and so the iPad does not include a data service. You can either use a home Internet connection with a WiFi access point (aka "router") or you can get an iPad with WiFi+Cellular and sign up for a data plan with a cell carrier. WiFi through a home Internet service will probably be cheaper.

Will this software make my Canon Powershot A700 work with os x 10.8.2 and iPhoto 11 v. 9.4.1? Is there any way to get my camera compatible with this computer?
First Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If that doesn't help apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory. -

I can't get my iTunes together with my Library onto my new user.
I am having a lot of difficulty getting my iTunes together with my Library onto my new user that I just created on my XP. I can get my iTunes and Library folders over there, but once there, I can neither open my Library nor put it onto my iTunes. I am getting very frustrated. Can someone help me, please?

Cannot install windows, starting to get really pissed off with this PLEASE HELP
ok, i'm starting to get agitated with this.
i cannot install windows XP, 2003, OR Longhorn on my machine.
right now, i have the following setup:
msi 865pe neo2 motherboard
intel p4 3.2ghz w/HT (factory HS/Fan currently)
1 dimm of PC3200 crucial DDR400
30GB maxtor HD plugged into primary IDE
pioneer dvd/cd drive as sencondary IDE
alps 3.5" floppy drive
antec true blue 480wt PSU
i do the following:
format with maxtor cd
boot from OS cd
start setup, reboot, continue
the farthest i can get is 'registering components/completing installation' i either get a blue screen stop error which isnt the same everytime, or it just locks up and doesnt do anything.
ran the memtest checker and get errors on test #4
i had a DIMM of kingston that gave the same errors, so i RMA'd it and got another. same errors, so i RMA'd again and got a Crucial stick. same errors.
so i RMA'd the motherboard since i figured it had to be that. and it improved from the problems i had earlier. (the problems i had before were worse before.)

even with new mobo and ram, i'm getting errors in memtest86 #4 test as i always have. i've tried different slots with same problems.
i only have one module because i dont want to waste anymore money on a non-working system. once i get it up and running i'll add another 512. -
My ipod nano has been working fine for at least three years. All of a sudden I get two messages. First, "there is a problem with this drive, scan and fix it".

My IBM laptop was stolen yesterday and I am trying to recover on a Dell laptop.
Mozilla Firefox is installed, but how do I get your Calendar program showing up under Tools, like it did on my first laptop?I don't think it was a Google Calendar program. It came some time (years) ago with Mozilla Firefox. Its name may have included "Reminders". Originally, the icon of a ribbon showed up on the top of the browser, like next to "Help". You clicked on it there you got the Calendar. A few months ago, the ribbon icon disappeared and you had to click on "Tools" and that program showed up in about the 4th position. I think the data was stored on the Web, and therefore I was hoping to recover it.

Why is it that Apple can't get their bluetooth technology right? I cannot connect to my Honda Civic VTI-L 2011 model using the bluetooth? While I can do that using my cheap Nokia phone ($59.00)? I shelled out $380.00 and this is what I get...
It will not even connect to my HP Elitebook 8540P??? Before anyone starts, this is what i have already done:
Installed the latest OS 5.1
Switched on the bluetooth on both device
And they are next to one another
So don't post here saying things that I have already done. Used the Bluetooth technology frequently so those carp from Apple about making sure devices are discoverable blah blah blah...don't even go there.

It does have bluetooth technology. It will connect to may types of devices via bluetooth.

Iphone connect to other devices as well. I connect via bluetooth all the time to my car. Like any other phone, it does not connect to ALL devices for ALL purposes.
You seem to have very little understanding of bluetooth technology. Perhpas you should read up on bluetooth before you begin a rant based on your ignorance of the subject. -

5 reasons why I’m sorry I settled on Photoshop Elements 6 as my photo organizer:
1. Difficult or impossible to reload the program on a new hard drive or computer and have it mate up with the photo catalog created by the user. To play safe, is necessary instead to backup the catalog (organizer) onto an external hard drive, then re-import the entire catalog and all photos from the external drive into the new computer. Dumb, dumb. (What if your hard drive crashes and your backup isn’t up to date?) I’ve had a couple computer whizzes shake their heads at the difficulty and uncertainty when a user tries to mate up a newly loaded copy of Elements with all the work created by that program (namely the catalog), as you easily can with any sensible program (Word; PixToExe slide program; Corel Draw; Publisher; Audacity sound editor; I-Tunes; etc. etc.).
2. When you change the date of a photo (esp those scanned in to the computer), Elements writes the date to metadata as one day, month or year EARLIER than what the user types in. If the user specifies a photo date as October 19, 1995, Elements will save it as October 18. If the user specifies only a year, say 1987, Elements will save it as 1986. Extremely frustrating.
3. Elements scrambled the captions and tags on something like 200 or 300 of my early photos. Thus a portrait of my dog will have a caption that talks about a sunset over the mountains, with tags for mountain and sunset. This perhaps has something to do with duplicate file names or some such -- I’ve not yet figured it out. And I still don’t know if I’ve actually lost photos, or if they are all there, simply with the caption and tags from some other photo. Truly a disgusting phenomenon.
4. There is no way to gang notes. In the properties of each photo in the organizer is space for notes. A note can be written only to a SINGLE foto. If you want the same note to appear with multiple fotos (often the case), it’s necessary to methodically put the note in each photo’s note space, one by one by one.
5. There is no way to highlight or click on a tag on a single photo and have all the other photos with the same tag appear. It’s necessary to go to the Keyword Tags listing in the organizer and wade through all the tags (I have many) until you find the tag you want, and then you can call up all the photos with that tag. Unnecessarily cumbersome.Not all that uncommon for resellers to be a better source than the actual manufacturer. I personally recommend Amazon for software. Great prices and no sales tax in most states.
