Nokia's Billing Blacklist

Hello,
I post this message today, in the hopes that someone at Nokia decides that customer service is in some way important, and seeks to help resolve this issuses that I and others have undoubtedly hit.
The way it has unfolded is as follows:
Upon re-entering my preorder (which I had to actively contact Nokia to find they had screwed up) for my N900 back in November, about two weeks later the order decided to charge through. However my bank's card security system blocked the charge. Nokia attempted to contact me, however that initial denial was apparently enough to blacklist my name and any other cards I have attempted to use with the system. All attempts to reorder with Nokia failed, and my patience ran out. I went with Newegg (whom I have hit the security before with and had no issues resolving) and received it in short order.
Today, for the second time since they've made it work (again) I attempted to buy Angry Birds Level Pack 1, for a whole 2 Euros (and you guys need to work your pricing out, 2EU != 2$) and when I placed my brand new card into the system, it was instantly denied. Mind you I have been using this card extremely frequently, it has a high limit I have barely touched, and have put many charges on the card for several times what is being asked for the level pack. I am certain, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this is Nokia's system permanetly blacklisting anyone who causes a charge to be denied for any reason and giving only a single chance for it to happen.
The phone support has been extremely unhelpful (especially since I can barely understand them, what with the thick Indian accents) and they are essentially powerless in what they -can- do.
So I post here, Nokia, and ask if you are willing to take responsibility for your systems, and help me find a way to give you money, or continue acting like you own the world and watch as the world walks away.

Pioneer?
Well n95 has almost the same camera like the n93 so you mean they are pioneer twise?
And when was it Nokia produced the first symbian smartphone?
And why did they put in less free memory in n95 than n70?
Take a look just on the camera differense. Why less memory?
They have experiense from the n93? the camera use alot of RAM when u record og would see a recorded movie.
14-15 mb out of 20 in a symbian smartphone.
I like n95 but i cant use it like a full symbian smartphone.
Not with this RAM and camera.
I hoped that a firmware will do the trick.
But now I have tryed 2 ...and it is a little worse now.
How will they fix this? They can't.
Therefore the 2 new upgrade model's got 128mb.
Btw: Do u mean 128mb of ram in n95? ...its only 64mb in the old n95.
N95 is only a "half" Symbian phone. The n95 is now called: "N95 Beta" by heavy symbian users.

• Nokia Lumia 820 Glass Smashed No Gorilla Glass

I bought this phone, only received it a few days ago and today its broken, i dropped the phone once and the whole glass is smashed now.
Was quite disapointed about this because i was under the imprssion that it had gorilla glass only to find the glass gets smahshed when dropped from a low level around knee level. Its also disapointed as i was an owner of Lumia 900 which had gorilla glass which i had dropped a few times since i had it and it never got a crack or anything. Very disapointed with Nokia as i went for the 820 because of the changable covers and the SD card and slightly smaller size. If i had known about no gorilla glass i'd never have got the phone, what a waste of money, i recommend not buying this phone as the screen broke way too easy.
What i'd like to know is how much do new screens cost for this phone, and i mean genuine ones from Nokia? or would i need to go to a care point? or are they available online somewhere on Nokia's website?
thanks

Solved!
Go to Solution.

Well I come home and opened my door on Friday night and my 820 Lumia drop from about knee height, put it on charger when got inside next morning went to get phone not working I found it had cracked Screen. Ok was the drop last night. So here I am with a $658 product from Nokia that's been made with little thought for the consumer. A phone that cracks the glass from a minor drop. The glass goes right to the edge of the phone, the phone is as heavy as a house brick.
I have taken it to be repaired it will be ready in 3 days at a grand cost of $180.00... I need my phone going thats why I brought it. Nokia Don't Care is a good Slogan, I took the phone back to Harvey Norman they didn't care, just advised me take it to a phone repairer in Penrith to get it fixed faster. Let's see what happens.
I will send Nokia a Bill for the repair because of the way they have designed this machine it is not fair to the consumer to have to have a weak machine like this. And I wished it would have happened within 21 Days I would have took it back to Harvey Norman, under consumer law you can not sell defected machines like this to people. Glass screens breaking so easly is not accpetable. It's daylight robbery, there working like crooks. I am in the right mind to take it all back to Harvey Norman and let them have the Phone and Optus Account as I only had it three months.
I should ring the Police. If some one steals something valuable they can goto goal. If a company like nokia robs you because of faulty products  they just ignore our complaints.
I am really cranky withnokia because of the Screen on this phone

• Nokia C3 chat/billing issues

Not entirely sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'll give it a go.
I recently (this saturday) upgraded my contract on orange (dolphin 15?) with a new Nokia C3, with a data bundle. I've been using internet and msn on nokia chat fine, until this evening it wouldnt let me connect. After calling orange, it turns out my bill is £10 over. So, 1) does anyone know if nokia chat is included in an unlimited data bundle, and 2) which access point am i meant to be using? There's an Orange GPRS WAP and an Orange WEB. Oh, and 3) why has it stopped connecting? Chat gives me a (code-2) and the Internet says the service is busy or not avaliable atm or something.
Thanks

Reasons:
1. Deleting the certificate manually from security settings.
2. Getting your phone flashed at an unauthorised repair shop. It is not recommended to do so for it voids the warranty, it deletes all the certificates from the phone and you may end up with a dead device.
SOLUTIONS:
1. Update your software using Firmware Over
The Air (FOTA). If there is any update available,
certificates will be sent on your phone -download & then install them.
2. Try reinstalling the firmware using Nokia Suite/ Nokia PC Suite. It will install the genuine software for the phone and along with it the certificates will get installed.
3. If nothing works please contact an authorised Nokia Care Centre that is near you. Please note that the above solutions work for S40 phones. I am not sure about other platforms such as S60 etc.

• Blacklist in S40v5? Nokia 6500

Hello, i was wondering if there is an application for S40 platform to blacklist callers? Thank you.

S40 phones only allow Java apps and cannot multitask, so you can't have another application running 'in the background' as you can with smartphones, meaning that it is not possible to do this.

My questions:
Is possible to configure an account to not to be filtered?
Can I do a rule in ORIG_MAIL_ACCESS with the domain (not address)? or there is another option for this?
No.
It's so easy to "spoof" domain names, that it's really of no use to even try that.
One of the real weaknesses of using RBL is that some of them falsly post many domains. There are other issues, including performance.
You may want to have a look at another product to add onto your system, "SpamAssassin". It's free, open-source software that integrates right into your Messaging Server, and eliminates nearly 99% of the spam coming in. It can be configured to do something similar to RBL, use SPF, keep local databases, to WhiteLists, Black:Lists, etc.

Since you say you spent 2 hours on-line using the phone as modem check with your service provider about the tariffs and re-concile the charges they want you to pay with amount you calculate based on the tariff and see if it matches. If it does then you need to pay.

• Need Help With Nokia 6680

have a Nokia 6680 and it keeps turning of and back on by its self I have tried everything I have formatted it flashed it put the latest software in it but nothing helps and I even bought a new battery. Someone help me?????????

Did you try another SIM card (preferrably one that you know is working in some other phone)?
If other SIM cards fail, too, then the phones are broken (or blacklisted).
If other SIM cards work, then the first SIM card is broken (or you haven't paid the phone bill).

The issue of firmware on operator-variant models is a common sore point on these boards.
Unfortunately, Nokia's hands are tied. The operators have to approve new versions of the software before they can be applied to any phone sold to them by Nokia as their own variant.
You will probably find that the operators' customer service staff are trained only to give advice on network services, if you want answers on issues other than that you need to locate the operator's head office and pester them. If you are a contract customer, that address should appear on your bill.

• New firmware for Nokia E90

Today I received a notification that a new firmware revision is available for the E90. It is listed as version 200.34.73
My current version is 07.40.1.2.
Did Nokia make a tremendous leap in versions (07->200) or is this an error?
Furthermore, if this new version is the correct one, can someone tell me what the changes are?

@ gemini632003
Windows Vista is just one of several Operating systems for PCs
It is relatively new ..The most widely used OS is XP and that is the OS that Nokia first address.
Perhaps if you ask Bill Gates to be more forthcoming with the code for his Vista OS it would be easier for Nokia to be 100% compatible with all Windows OS.
Also the latest FW is not yet available for all variants of E90.
If your PCs NSU is not finding and up date for your phone it could be that the code indicates that there is not yet a new FW available.
I am still using FW V07.24.0.3 June 2007. it work just fine.
Nokia..."ignores the needs of it's consumers.!"...???
So how did they manage to get 40% of the world market.?

• Disappointed with Nokia Music service

I paid $170 for Nokia Music credit in June 2008.
I bought about $100 worth of music, but had a lot of trouble getting it to work.
After numerous service calls and emails, multiple PC and handset software updates, multiple backups and memory card formats, tweaking every conceivable mode and setting, and still no functioning music, I finally gave up in March 2009 and requested a refund. Nokia Music refused.
Since then I have repeatedly requested a refund or a fix for my problems.
In June 2009 my unused credit expired. I requested an extension of my unused credit, as per the user agreement, but they never responded.
Last month Nokia Music apparently decided that they had to cut off contact with me. Suddenly, mysteriously, the rights for my songs all expired at once. They said that they would no longer provide support as my song rights had all expired. They no longer respond to my emails.
So I’m very unhappy with the service. I have no playable music. I have lost unused credit that I was unable to spend. I have run up considerable phone bills on hold with the Careline. Most importantly I have wasted many, many hours over the last 18 months trying to get the music to work.
I've also bought songs from iTunes Plus and they worked first time, every time, on both my PC and Nokia handset. Currently I'm saving for an iPhone.

Well I called Dell and got my answer---They diagnose it over the phone if it can't be repaired that way then they ship a new monitor out and then ship the defective monitor back. This works for me. I'm going to call Apple now and demand a new monitor. If not I'll buy the Dell and sell the ACD on ebay or something.

• How I got fooled by Nokia Care, Bangalore. [Lumia ...

Hi,
I purchased a Nokia Lumia 720 on May 2nd week 2013 from an authorized Nokia vendor in Bangalore. Now, here are the issues I've faced, and here's how Nokia has been 'kind' to serve me.
> The phone has had reception issues from Day 1. The person on the other end of the line, cannot hear my voice clearly, which ends up in me shouting/talking louder than usual to make sure the person gets me. Initially, I thought this might be a network issue, or maybe because the phone is too new. I decided to give this a few days.
> Day 7, and things got worse. Poor reception, phone lagging, volume increasing decreasing automatically, notifications failing. On contacting Nokia care, they asked me to format  my 'seven day' old phone. That was done. No change.
> Day 10. I finally gave up and thought of switching networks in hope of getting better reception. Mind you, I was getting excellent reception at my house with this same SIM on my previous handset.
> Day 14. New SIM activated. Issues remain. Contacted Nokia, they asked me to move to 'Micro Sim' and not cut the normal 'Sim' as that might be the reason for the issue. Plus, the other issues increased making the phone unusable at times because of the lag.
> Day 17. Microsim activated, Issues gone worse. Planned to visit Nokia Care, Bangalore. Got told that I need to format my phone again and everything will be fine.
> Day 18. Formatted. Issues remain. Visited another Nokia Care in hope for better service. But well, got treated arrogantly. According to the customer 'care' rep at the Nokia Care, water has made it's way into the motherboard of the phone and that has been causing issues. When told that these issues were there since day 1, the customer care guy cuts you off arrogantly, and instead blames you of phone tampering. Like, really. The phone wasn't even taken to any service station apart from Nokia, and even when it was taken to Nokia, they did not open the phone. Apart from that, I have taken utmost care of the phone; no rough usage at all.
Now, it's pretty clear that the phone has had issues since day 1, and I've followed every instruction given by Nokia to hopefully fix my phone. Nokia on the other hand is hell bent on blaming the customer for the issues in the phone; also washing their hands off from fixing it within the warranty period since the supposed motherboard does not come under warranty, and has billed me Rs. 1200/- and asked for SEVEN day period to fix the phone, today being the second day of waiting period.
I do not understand why I have to pay Rs. 1200 to fix a brand new phone which has had issues since day 1, plus, why is Nokia so stubborn in proving that the customer is always wrong, a fool; and whatever the reps at Nokia Care say, are as accurate as it can be. Oh, not to forget the arrogant behaviour of the reps which make you embarrased infront of the others queued up to service their phone.
A truly apalling experience for a Nokia lover like me, do not think I'd ever buy a Nokia phone ever; even if given for free. I'd rather save myself the harrasment the reps intend to cause you.

P.S. I can give you the various acknowledgement, jobsheets, and IMEI number of my phone in case you need to retrieve any detail.

• How do I update blacklist

I need to install a blacklist.  You know "Blacklist After Effects.txt" which tells After Effects to ignore my Premiere only plug-in.  I get bogus After Effects error as my Premiere plug-in is Premiere only.
What if there already is a blacklist file in C:/Program Files/Adobe/Common/plug-ins/CS6/MediaCore
I think that my ZXP will overwrite the file or ask the user if they want to replace it.
The user is clueless about blacklist files and this should not be up to the user anyway.
How do I get Extension Manager to handle blacklist files correctly?

Hi Bill,
Extension Manager cannnot handle it. If the user launch a command line window with admin priviledge, and isntall the extension with the command "XManCommand.exe -suppress -install zxp="xxx.zxp", then the overwrite dialog will not pop up( Actually, all confirm dialogs will not pop up ). However, I don't think most users will install the extension in command line mode.
Anyway, we will consider your requirement in the new version of Extension Manager. Thanks.

• Nokia C65 does not show me which Internet connecti...

I have a Nokia C65, and, to this day, I am not sure what operating system does it use, how do I check?
What worries more than this is that I have configured different connections including a WAP connection - provided by my telecommunications operator - Go plc, and, a number of WLAN connections configured so that when I am at the hospital, at home, at work - usually sitting on the loo , and, at a few places where WiFi is available - I can browse, check my email and keep on working.
The problem is that I receive bills from my mobile phone operator who would have deducted data roaming charges to my account, and, I am not sure how to control the connection that the mobile phone is using when browsing the Internet.  Sometimes I am prompted, but lately I am not.   However, the Internet connection setting reads 'Ask first'.
Does this issue happen to anyone else, or is it just me who is weird?
By the way any idea where do I download an application which takes screenshots from my mobile phone?
Is there a PC emulator for Nokia C65?

It would help if you clarified if device C5-** or C6_** here as not enough information in your post to draw the correct conclusion.
Unless it is S40 device I would suggest Best ScreenSnap:http://www.smartphoneware.com/screen_snap-for-s60-5th-edition-product.php
