Non Script pop up?

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a way to have a pop up window with no
javascript. So I have my page with a link, this link is to a form,
however I would like the form to open up in a window/div/layer on
that same page (on-top of everything else). And then the user can
fill the form out and submit without leaving that page. But I don't
want to use javascript as this is then no longer available to all
(trying to get away from a current javascript heavy form solution)
any help would be appreciated, thanks

Why does a "script' text in design appear as non script (block) in browser preview in CS5 on a Mac?

I have amended text within the design field and selected "Brush Script MT Italic. In the design view in Dreamweaver CS5 it appears in this script but when I preview it either in Dreamweaver "preview in browser" or after uploading and viewing in browser the text appears in a non script format.

I am using a Mac with Lion OS. I have tried many script font but the result is the same.

There are only a minimal amount of web safe fonts to be used in your webpage design. Frush Script MT Italic is not one. What happens is it might display on the computer that has that font, but on a person web browsing computer, if the font is not installed, then it will use the default font (usually times new roman or equivelant on Mac). It is best to stick with the web safe fonts (google it) unless you use the font in a graphic.

1and1 Webmail signing out only on this computer, won't sync, blocking non-existant pop-ups & windows

My webmail is auto signing me out several times a day, but only on this computer. It's set for 'private', I've uninstalled and reinstalled that program, cleared cache and re-started, same thing with Firefox.
Firefox is also frequently blocking pages from opening that apparently don't exist, and blocking non-existent pop-up windows as well.
Today I got an error message that my sync password was rejected, which is odd since it's set to manually sync and nothing's been changed. All the resets happened days ago. It also wouldn't let me use my password, but let me change it.
Since this is the only computer I'm having the problems on I'm assuming that it's either the version of Firefox that I'm using or something in my computer that suddenly isn't playing nice with Firefox, but I don't know where to start, other than once again un and re-installing it (which did nothing).

I kept getting that error message. I thought that since I'm syncing with my corporate email so the calendar syns wirelessly with Outlook, that it was causing a conflict.

How to remove a java script pop up

Hi,
I imported a robohelp document from another company and i am
catering it to my company's needs. The problem is they have popups
which refer to .bmp and it is in java script. If i highlight the
word which has the pop up and remove the popup and then highlight
the normal word again and refer it to my topic in the project
manger; it still refers to their image and not mine. It is strange
but true. I don't know how to remove the java script cos each time
i hover over the highlighted text there are 2 red squares on the
left and right hand side of the word highlighted which i want to
change from their image to mine.
Any help would be much appreciated .

if you could paste this code on your word doc and try to
search for .bmp it exactly shows where it is used i tried removing
that line but it acted strange as even when i added a pop up to a
word it does not show anything in the view mode.

I keep getting 'unresponsive script' pop up which slows firefox n thunderbird, is this a bug?

Both thinderbird n firefox for desktop slow down, then i get a pop up saying unresponsive script with options to 'stop script' or 'continue script'

I keep getting "Warning Unresponsive Script" pop ups. All of them have to do with Chrome. Is there a fix?

I tried to research what Chrome was and I think it has to do with Google. The only thing I ever tried of Google is Google Earth and it didn't work right. I can't find anything by Google on my add/remove programs page. I deleted Firefox and Adobe Flash to reload and see if it helped. It was better without Adobe Flash, but I still got the same warnings. but not as often. When I downloaded Adobe Flash I got all kinds of "Warning Unresponsive Scrips" pop ups again!
If I click on Don't Ask Again and then Stop Script will it alwys do what I'm telling it to do or just not ask me to stop the script? Thanks for your help!!!

Non-scripter attempting a metatagging script

my script is doing everything i want except it is converting all spaces and periods to semicolons in the final metatag and i cannot figure out why.
It will be VERY obvious that the attached script is nothing but a bunch of snippets clipped together to perform most of what i want...
I want to run this script at the end as i am completing a project to insert the needed metatags.

i want the copyright info
i want keywords to include all images used in the document
i want to be able to add keywords.

Non Blocking Pop up

I have 3 JFrames, after some random period of time, each of them is to display a popup (im using JOptionPane for popup) to display its status.
When im working on frame3, and there's a popup on frame1, then frame1 gets focus... i want the pop to be nonblocking, user should be able to carry on working on a frame even if there's a popup on another frame.. plz suggest!!

You can check if the window is in front (called active) before showing a popup. If the window is not in fornt, you can enqueue the message and show it when the window comes to front.

Batch file processing with non-scripting app (Preview)

Well I RTFM and spent MANY hours on macscripter et al, the answer is just not going to come to me. I have some RAW files in an obscure Canon format that is only recognized by Preview, which is not scriptable. I'm dealing with hundreds of files from a stop-motion animation project so batch-processing is a must.
The Goal: Individually open several hundred RAW image files in Preview, then save them as .PICT files in a new directory.
Automator doesn't want to play - it simply refuses to do this as a batch job, so I'm left with manipulating the UI through Applescript. Below is what about 10 hours of head-beating has produced:

Hiroto, no I didn't have it checked. I don't know why I was able to get as far as I did but enabling access for assistive devices didn't change anything. I am able to emulate /almost/ any keystroke, except the up arrow, which normally allows me to move up in the "file type" selector button. The script below is ... functional ... except that it forces me to save each file as a 58MB uncompressed .tiff, and it refuses to respond to the "close front window" or 'keystroke "W" using command down' scripts. Getting through 300+ files this way will eat up my memory and hard drive in a matter of minutes. I suppose I could '$sh kill ####' from terminal if I could find the window process, but this is getting really hoaky!

List permissions script pop up dissappears

I've created a script for the help desk that works. Thing is when the help desk double clicks the powershell shortcut the scripts executes and gives them the info and the window closes.
I would like the window the stay open so that they are able to read what is in there and also pipe the results into a csv file for them on the root of their C drive.

A lot of that code isn't correct, either syntactically or according to your intentions, so it's hard to understand what you're needing it to do. Maybe if you explain thoroughly with just words it would be more clear.

Non-Script Way of Setting Visible Property

Why hello there!
I am looking to set the "visible" property of a movie clip in
the Flash CS3 designer, as opposed to using AS3.
In my movie, I set a movieclip to invisible in code
immediately. However, I sometimes see the artefact of the image for
a split-second on running the swf in my browser. I would therefore
like to set the property in the designer.
I am guessing that there is not a way of doing it. Are there
any suggestions?
I'm now considering setting the alpha value to 0 in designer,
and then setting the alpha value to 1 in code when I need to be
able to see the mc.

I appreciate the prompt response. Sorry I wasn't clear enough
in my initial message.
I am simply looking to be able to set, say, a rectangle
primitive to invisible without having to set in the code. At the
moment, I am setting the visible property to false in the first
frame in the code. However, as a result, I sometimes (not
frequently) see artefacting when I run my movie. The rectangle very
momentarily appears before disappearing.

Unresponsive script screen pops up constantly freezing the browser

It started when using the chat of Facebook but after also when playing it's games, that this screen "Unresponsive script" pops up constantly and the browser freezes till I click on the markers "Don't ask me again" and "Stop script"
This started to happen when I updated Firefox because this never happened before.
I loved Firefox but now it has become very annoying.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Pop-up box & condition

Hi,
We have created some pop-up boxes (Text object with html), but we would like them to be displayed based on certain conditions. For instance, if a function is executed successfully, the pop-up box should not appear. Or if a key figure has a specific amount, the pop-up box should appear.
Is there a way to build a logic to achieve that?
The white paper 'How To validate key figure values in Manual planning' can issue error messages but does not give the user the ability to execute or not a subsequent function.

What are your javascript skills like?
You could use javascript to read the contents of the message box, check for successful planning functions, then throw up a pop-up choice to execute a BPS planning function (search the forum - there are a few threads for executing functions using javscript) depending on a condition determined by a range of key fig values that you specify....
Marc Bernard posted the following script as a way to sort through the message box and only return messages of a certain message number...........use this as a start to scroll through a return/find certain message types, then write a little script which executes the relevant BPS function.....

Can I suppress dialog outside script?

I have a start up script that is used in cross-plattform production. It fixes the links of pictures. Works fine but the user still gets the warning message before the script does its work. If the document is opened by script I can suppress the dialog but I did not find a way for the regular InDesign Open action.
Is it possible by script?
(I think it was the case in the old days that setting userinteraction level to neverinteract would get rid of all dialogs but this seems to be no longer the case.)
Any idea?

Okay, sometimes it is a good idea to simply ask a non-scripting guy. One can just turn off the dialog in the InDesign preferences.
I am sure you all knew that.
