Not recording whole programmes

Recently, (about two weeks) my you view box has been dicking about with recordings. We have a few season records set up and now and again when I go to watch an episode it has only recorded 4 mins, it's usually 4 but sometimes it's 2. It also happens when recording films, I would sit down to watch a movie I recorded two days ago and to my horror I see the dreaded PART RECORDED and I feel like launching the box out the window. Anyone got any ideas, I've done the usual full reboot but still dicking about. Thanks in advance, Ryan.

QT7 Pro Not recording whole movie. (only a few seconds)

I hit New Movie Recording and Quicktime record for a while. When I hit the stop record button it gives me dialog box asking me if I want to keep the recording (it wasn't doing this a few weeks ago). When I select that I want to keep the movie it save it. The problem is is that it is only keeping about 10 - 60 seconds of the recording! I can't find what is causing this. I've repaired permissions. I've deleted all of the preference files for QT. I've run Drive Genius on my hard drive. There aren't any problems found when run. There aren't any other posts that I can find to fix this problem. Help!
I'm using a new G5 20" iMac with the iSight built in. I had QT 7.4 (??? Latest version), and now have moved back to 7.1.1 and it didn't help.

If you are still under warranty and/or have AppleCare, call them. Let them deal w/it.

Programmes not recording

I have already checked and no FAQ answers are applicable. The program showed as set to record on EPG, but was not available (ie not showing at all) to start watching from the recorded list after the program had started. When selecting the program to watch from EPG, it suddenly started to record (part way through). This is not the first time that for no reason a program has not recorded. It was on series record, good signal, no power interruptions, no turning of machine etc. the box was supplied new by BT within last six months and is up to date with latest software. The box is set to over write old programmes when the drive is full.
Are these boxes just unreliable or is their a fix for this problem?
Incase it is relevant, it happened with 2 programmes at the same time (1) Silent Witness, BBC1 21.00 tonight (12/01/15) and (2) Broadchurch on ITV at the same time. Heathfield transmitter.

I'm having problems with advaced recording,when its only recording for 1 minute before its turning its self off. Is anyone else having the same problem? Anyone got an answer?

My i phone 4 seems to have less storage recently, i can not record any radio programmes on tune in radio.

my i phone 4 is recently suggesting i have used up memory. this has never happened before. App Tune in radio wont let me record any programmes. i also had trouble taking some video. i have cleared a load of photographs and deleted a number of Apps but the Tune in radioi still tells me there is not enough disc space. i think i have managed to turn off all the i cloud settings

Have you tried checking your email on a computer and deleteing it there?
If I have to go to the apple store I will be there for HOURS!! I have never made it out of there in less than 3 hours and I don't have time to do that
Make sure you sign up for a Genius appt before you go. Then you aren't waiting around.

New BT Vision does not record from start of a prog...

One of the best features on BT Vision seems to have been lost. The ability to start recording a programme half way through - with the whole programme then recorded to the disc (as long as the box was switched on and on the channel that you want to record). Now it appears that the recording starts from the moment the record button is pressed and not the start of the programme. There have been many occasion where part way through a programme we have decided to record for ourselves or another member of the family to watch later but this option is no longer available. The overall funtionality of the new service is not much better than before and this issue, in my view, makes the whole upgrade a step backward! Can this feature please be reinstated?

Agreed! I've only just go the new system and there is nothing about it I see as a real improvement. Please BT, sort it out.

F10 - create video DVD from recorded TV programme

When I try to create a DVD from a recorded TV programme on my Qosmio F10 I get the following message-
"Media in the CD/DVD drive is not writable by Media Center"
I know that the media is writable by the Qosmio under normal windows but under Media Center it doesn't work on any format of DVD - data, video or DVD slide show.
Any ideas?

Not Recorded!!!

I have tried recording Eastenders and Top gear this week and they have not recorded or are unable to be played. When i go to BBC replay I am still unable to watch them. Please can someone tell me if there is a problem?

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting.
Does the program actually record and then fail when you try to watch the recording? Do you get any error messages when you attempt to watch the recording?
I have a blank screen when I play back a recorded programme This could explain what happened. However, drop me a reply when you get a chance, with the answers to the above questions so that we can get to the bottom of this.

Scheduled Recordings not recording

Why are my scheduled recordings not recording. Sometimes the record light is on lilke it is but if I check my show is not listed. This goes for movies as well as series recordings.

You could try using other TV software, but that may not work either as it looks like your broadcaster is protecting some programmes to prevent recording, for copyright reasons.

AppleRAID enable: The target disk must be an existing volume, not a whole disk

I have a Samsung 750 which failed to spin up a time or two the past year. Scrounging I found a Seagate 750. Seeing as how I have plenty of drive bays I think the right thing to do is bind the Samsung and Seagate into a mirrored RAID. This volume is used for Time Machine.
Did similar to my Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server when it was new without wiping the original filesystem. But can't get there from here today following similar instructions.
The Samsung is disk2, Seagate is disk1. In Terminal.app I start with:
% diskutil appleRAID enable mirror /dev/disk2
The target disk must be an existing volume, not a whole disk

This message, and threads like yours got asked daily for over two years, now it is only a couple times a week!!
Is it so hard to follow through? you were to have backup already, clones are best, then erase/format and restore.
Then partition.
Some have been able to use Disk Utility booted from OS X DVD or another drive, and repair the drive.
You have to use Boot Camp Assistant (99.9% anyway) to create and achieve a proper Windows Master Boot Record partition.

For non-purchased music like CD rip music, or website downloaded songs, you need some third party software to copy the music from iPod to mac. If you need details, here is a guide about how to get music from iPod to macbook. Hope it helps.

It sounds like maybe 8.0.1 has downloaded onto your phone but not installed. You can check for it in Settings > General > Usage > Storage, Manage Storage. If it's there you should see it at the top of the list of apps. Swipe to delete it. 8.0.1 was pulled by Apple quickly after it was introduced due to issues and replaced by 8.0.2. Once it's deleted you should be able to download and install 8.0.2.

So if I understand you correctly, you want to be able to sync only certain songs, artists, and albums correct? If so you can configure this set up from under the iPod's Music configuration tab in iTunes as described in the Syncing Automatically section in the Apple support document you linked in at the top of the page. Note that you cannot select only certain songs, but you can set it up to sync selected Artists, Genres, and Albums.
If the tab and its configurations are grayed out, it is likely because your iPod is set up for manual management, meaning the manually manage music and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab.

Page Setup, including page orientation, is done in the File menu. The setting applies to the whole document. As Peter says, you can rotate the contents of a page (not including the text layer of a word processing document).
As an alternative, you could use Numbers, where Sheets are empty canvases onto which you may place images, charts, tables and text boxes, and where page orientation may be set for individual Sheets. The main tradeoff is that you lose many of the built-in word processing and page layout features of Pages.

How do I remove an obsolete e-mail address of a friend (not a whole account)

People change their provider and get a new e-mail address. From some people I have 3 addresses but 2 are obsolete. I can't remember which ones. So I want to remove the old addresses, not a whole e-mail account.
If I send a new e-mail to a friend and I have typed part of my friends name, I don't want to see obsolete addresses as options. I only want to see 1 correct address.
If your answer is something like "Go to the Adress Book", please do tell me - exactly - where this Address Book is and how I will be able to edit and save it.
I have Thunderbird 31.5.0.

All suggestions come from your address books. You are going to have to find the old addresses and edit or remove then.
You have two address books by default. The personal and the collected books. Check them both and any other books you may have created.
There is a button to open the address book window.
