Not starting MakBook Pro (possible SSD failure)
Not starting MakBook Pro with message "com.apple.launchd 1 com.apple.coreservices.appleevents 63 Exit timeout elapsed (1 seconds). Killing". Is there a way to do something at home, or just give it to service?
I am very new to this. Can I just RMA it with such little fuss? There should be about a month left on the warranty. Do I just ring them up and see what they say? What hardware do I need to purchase if they do not solve my problem? (Things like this never end happily in my experience).
Surely I could just replace both of the SSDs with a single one? The super raid card should work with just one SSD in it, right? Would I have to buy two? I don't like the idea of relying entirely on MSI allowing me to RMA it, it has to be fixable surely?
It would be nice to put a single msata SSD into the super raid card and just have one SSD so there's less things to break. Would that work?

'error 1069 - (The service did not start due to a logon failure) in BAM
I installed BAM on XP SP2, i do have IIS configured and XE DB, after installing when i tried starting the services as per post-installion guide.i did found the error 'An error 1069 - (The service did not start due to a logon failure). In google i could find a remedy saying
Remedy: Go to Start /Programs / Administrative tools / Services. Right-click the Goodlink Server and select Properties. Click the Log On tab. Retype the correct password. Start the Goodlink service.
i did so but did found the same error. So i tried changing a few things in LogOn tab such as " Earlier it was logging in from machine name and pwd , since it gave an error" i changed it to local system account ." now all services of BAM have started except Oracle BAM Active Data cache.
Anyone pls rep how do i resolve this? Do i need to re-install? i need this to be done very urgently.Windows XP is not a certified platform for BAM. However, the product works fine on XP for evaluations and demos. For production, use a certified/supported version of Windows as is documented in the Software System Requirements section of the BAM Install Guide.
All Postinstall steps apply to all versions of Windows that BAM runs on except for the Postinstall step called "Required Configuration for Microsoft Windows Server 2003". As indicated by the step name, this one is for W2003 only.
"network not found windows 53 error" is generally a network, account or password issue. Please follow the Install Guide step by step to avoid installation issues like this.
See "Troubleshooting Start Page Issues" for start page problems.
As indicated in the Install Guide, you can use host names or IP addresses:
"12. On the Configure location of Oracle BAM step, enter the host name or the IP
address where each component is to be installed, even if it is not being installed at
this time, then click Next."

Hey. I have a problem. I updated my mac os x to 10:8 for I can not start Acrobat Pro, which I bought six months ago.
Proglamet says that the computer does not support Power PC. Help
When I try to start it says (program "Acrobat 6.0.2 Professional.app" can not open because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.)
Please helpThe version of Acrobat you have is a PowerPC application and will not run on Mountain Lion. You will need to upgrade/purchase an Intel version of Acrobat Pro, probably Version 9.
It might have been worth checking to see if the apps you run are supported on ML before upgrading. If you backed up your system before the upgrade you could always revert to your previous level. -

IPad not starting...possible drool connection
So, I left the room to get some laundry out of the dryer. My eight year old was with his baby brother. Baby brother started fussing, so eight year old (without my knowledge) put the iPad on the floor for him and walked out of the room when that seemed to calm him down. When I walked in a couple minutes later, the baby was on top of the iPad--along with his drool. I picked it up, and wiped it off. The drool didn't seem to be near any buttons or anywhere that it could have seeped into the unit. A couple hours later, I picked up my iPad to check my e-mail, and it would not turn on! It's been hours, now and it still won't turn on! What should I do?
Have you tried rebooting the ipad by pressing the home and off button together until the apple appears(about 10 secs) ignore the slider. this does not affect any of the data or settings

After BI install SIA and Tomcat could not start with service account.
Hi BO Gurus,
I want to install BO child node (Expand the parent install)
Client IT prepared a system with MS Server 2012 with Windows 8 as OS, and assigned a Service Account for me.
I gave service account following permissions -
Act as a part of operating system
log on as a batch
log on as a service
After this I rebooted the system and logged in with Service Account credentials. Started the installer, performed custom/expand install.
the install was successful.
When I opened CCM, both Tomcat and SIA are running under 'localsystem' account.
I want them to run under service account --> i sopped SIA and changed credentials in 'Log on as' box under SIA properties.--> Click on 'apply' and 'OK'
When I go on and start SIA I get following error -
' The Service did not start due to log on failure'.
The same service account runs services on 3 other BO boxes including parent node of the above install and 2 other DS boxes and everything apart from this machine works exactly fine.
Please help!
Thanks,
MaitreyeeMaitreyee,
BI 4.x Platform will NOT work on Desktop OS like Windows 7 / 8.x / 8.1, it required 64bit Server Operating system. See attached screenshot.

Assign "Log on as a service" to the service account on this computer. You can use Local Security Settings (Secpol.msc) to do this.
If this computer is a node in a cluster, check that this user right is assigned to the Cluster service account on all nodes in the cluster.
If you have already assigned this user right to the service account, and the user right appears to be removed,
check with your domain administrator to find out if a Group Policy object associated with this node might be removing the right.

I have a MacBook pro that has power issues and will not start but the hardrive is fine. I do not want to lose all of my files so I was wondering if it's possible to transfer my hardrive from a older Macbook pro to a new one if I were to purchase a new one? Also, the software is not updated as the computer hasn't worked for about 2 months.
Also, if it is possible to transfer the hardrive, would my iTunes music transfer as well? It is not saved in the cloud.
Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated. You computer is probably perfectly repairable, but if you want a new one anyway, it is perfectly possible to transfer the data from the faulty one.
But it would be a mistake to simply put the old HD in the new computer.
These are the steps:
Remove Hard drive from faulty computer. (very easy on Unibody MBPs, do-able but not so easy on older MBPs)
Put it in a cheap enclosure
Connect it the new computer
Boot up new computer.
If the new computer has never been run before the Setup Assistant will ask if you want to import your apps, data, settings etc from either another mac, another HD connected to the Mac or a Time Machine back up.
Obviously chose the second option (another HD connected to this Mac) and follow prompts.
If the new computer has already been run (so Setup Assistant doesn't run when you boot it up), you will need to use Migration Assistant...or run the installer again so that Setup Assistant runs again.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 10 does not start anymore
This happened to me three times now. One time Adobe Acrobat Pro 10 is working properly for weeks. It crashes once and after that it does not start anymore without providing a message or clue.
What I used to do is remove CS6 completely and reinstall it. But this is tedious. Just uninstalling Acrobat Pro and reinstalling it doesn't do the trick.
My guess is that a setting is stopping Acrobat Pro from starting. Is it possible to reset Acrobat Pro settings to the factory default? I've already remove the folders under
%LOCALAPPDATA% \adobe\acrobat and
%APPDATA% \adobe\acrobat
but this doesn't help.Ok. This occasion I had a bit of time on my hand and found a solution yuhu!
Make sure you have access to you license key as you have to enter it new after this procedure
1) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache
2) Delete or rename the file cache.db
3) Open Acrobat Pro, you will be asked to license the software again under your Adobe-ID again.
4) If asked to connect to your Adobe-ID and re-enter the license key.
Now Acrobat Pro is working (as are all the other CS6 applications. -
My mac book pro 2.3ghz intel core i7 will not start up. I get the apple and the circle thing but thats it. Please help!!!
Give this a try:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
My MacBook Pro will not start up and it is just showing the grey screen?
My Apple Mac book pro is not starting up ,the screen is grey
If you are running Snow Leopard:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
If you are running Lion/Mountain Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
