Note 533276 - Setting the batch management requirement indicator

Hi;
we have found an oss note for setting the batch management requirement
indicator.. but the program mentioned in oss note does't exist in the
attachement part.. we urgently need your help..
how can we find program RVBCONVMAT2BM?
Note 533276 - Setting the batch management requirement indicator
Solution
Here, the standard procedure is to clear stocks of the current and the previous period as well as to complete the open documents. Note 30656 provides further information about this.
Alternatively, in the case of a large data or document volume, you can use a conversion report from the batch development that sets the batch management requirement indicator without the necessity of manual preliminary works such as the posting of the stocks or the completion of open documents.
We have developed the main features of this report, but it must be adjusted to individual business processes in a customer project that is subject to charges.
If you require further information about functions of this tool or about running such a customer project, you can send an e-mail to the consulting department ([email protected]).

Hi,
You also need to check for open sales order, open production orders, open WM transfer orders and open deliveries. These documents needs to be closed/completed.
Check OSS notes 533276 - Setting the batch management requirement indicator.
Following is the details of this notes;
Summary
Symptom
The attempt to set the batch management requirement indicator for a
material in the material master record maintenance fails because there are
stocks or documents that are not completed such as production orders, sales

  • Batch management requirement indicator

    Dear experts,
Due to an error during test-conversion, I have a number of materials that should have gotten the Batch management requirement indicator. At this moment the system does not allow me to change this indicator, because it detects stockpostings.
Since it is an inactive client I have the possibility to change whatever is needed, so I removed the stock. But apparantly this is not enough.
Does anyone know a way to enforce the Batch management requirement indicator?
    Thanks for your help!
    Best regards, AJ

  • Easy or flexible ways to deactivate the batch management!

    Hi Experts,
In our company , we want to deactivate the batch management for some materials.
I know it is not an easy way to do this according to the SAP Note  30656:
to clear stocks of the current and the previous period as well as to complete the open documents.
It is very painful to do the standard procedure as SAP provide.
I want if there is some easy or flexible ways to deactivate the batch management.
For example , to change for new material number.
Or we can set the batch number value to a fixed value, for example "1234" for all these materils.
Are there any other easy or flexible ways to deactivate the batch management?
May be do not need toremove the batch management indicator in the material master?
Just make it simple for all the goods movement that with batch number value input?
    Thanks for any reply!

Dont just state a program name without giving the warnings and further explanations from the OSS note:

  • Material getting set for Batch Management in O/B delivery

    Hi Folks,
For a material which is not batch managed, I created an outbound delivery.
For some reason, the material is getting set as 'BatchManagement' even though the Batch Management indicator is not set.
Due to this PGI is not possible.
Any thoughts on why the 'Batch Management' indicator has been set and how to resolve this?
    Regards,

    Hi Jürgen  ,
I am unable to replicate this problem in Q. Its occuring only in P while doing a goods issue.
    Message is
"The batches are not defined for delivery item XXXXXX".
As I said earlier, we have not set the batch management check box in MM.
However the outbound delivery has the batch management check box selected .
Anything I missed to check? Q is almost identical to P. But still issue is only in P.

  • Reg: material needs the batch management

    Hi All,
The material needs the batch management. We have created without the batch
first and the few movements were done, then tried to put the flag after the
stock remove and sales order deletion, however could not process. System
messaged as below in italic. Please let me know how we could change the MM
date for the batch. The sales order alive now.
    The batch management requirement cannot
be changed for the following reasons:
SD documents exist (orders or deliveries) that have not yet been
processed or that have been processed only in part.
    Thanks & Regards
    Siva

    Hi,
This was asked in LE forum also, please read this thread:
reg. activating batch management for existing materials
You should fully process the sales documents (sales order - delivery - invoice) or you should delete them and after setting batch requirement for your material master you could recreate the them (SO, delivery).

  • Material forgot to tick the batch management but the GR and IR is done

    Hello,
Material A should be in batch managed but the settings in the material master is forgot to ticked. PO is created as well as GR and IR is already completed. The invoice is posted and according to finance it is paid already and cannot cancel the invoice anymore. When trying to tick the batch management in the material master, an error is "Stocks already exist at plant level". Checking also MMBE, stocks showing in the Open Order quantity since the GR is cancelled.
Is there anyway I can tick the batch managed in the material master?

to set the indicator is less restrictiv than removing it. so just make the inventory in current and previous period zero.
you can see how much inventory you have in thosee 2 periods in MM03  valuation view or plant stock view.
follow instructions  given in oss note 30656

  • Item not relevant for billing - Batch Management

    Dear Experts,
I'm testing the Batch Management with the configuration detalied on the Building Block - J19 from SAP. So I've created a new item position called YG05 which is working for the batch spliting.
But now the problem is that when I'm billing with Tx VF04 or VF01 it gives me the following error and doesn't create the invoice.
VF 044 The item is not relevant for billing
Now, the problem fixes when I go to Tx VTFL and change the position TAN in the field Copying Requirements from 004 Delivery - Related Item to 003 Header / Dlv. - Related. I can do the billing, but when the system print the invoices it print for each position type, I mean this.
"Before the system printed 3 copies of the invoice, but now not only print the 3 copies, now it send printing the 3 copies and also 3 blank pages (i assume that those are por the YG05 position"
If anyone have and advice if the fix i did first is correct.... And also have a solution for this last problem. Please reply...

  • 351 movmnt type doesnot refers the Batch managed items with respect to P.O

    Dear SAP Gurus,
For Stock transport order, i am using the 351 and 101 movement type.
The batch managed items are provided in the Purcahse order and the same batch is displayed while receiving the material -101 movement ytpe  with respect to Purchase order, but while performing the Goods issue - 351 movement type , the batch is not displayed in the line item.
Kindly help me to solve this
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks and Regards,
    R.Diwakar

    Dear SAP Guru,
    Thanks for your kind response
yes, the batch managed material is already available in both plants that is material already extended.
Manually the batch is entered by the receiving plant (what they required for STO), but while performing the Good issue against the  Stock Transfer order the batch is not referred or automatically flows to the batch managed items.
    in 351 movement type.
    Kindly guide me on this.
    Thanks and Regards,

Note:The batches are received at the time of receiving.

  • Batch Management Requirement - SD document

    hi all,
I am trying to activate batch management in MM02. But it has error:
SD documents exist (orders or deliveries) that have not yet been processed or that have been processed only in part.
It lists two SD document: one SO and one DN
This is the only error the system gives. I am sure the material has no inventory in previous period and this period and no other outstanding document
Then I changed the DN qty to 0, posted it
And I changed the SO qty to 0 or reject the SO item
But system keep giving the above error
    Could anyone advise?
    Thanks

    hai;
First you have to cancel the DN .Take VL09.Reverse the goods movement then take VL02 select the document and delete the items from it and save.
Then goto VA02 and type the SO number and delete the item .and save it.
Now the stock will be greater than zero.
Once again make it as zero and activate the batch management.
Hope this will serve you better
    regards.

  • Batch Management Requirement

    Dear Experts,
We are going for Batch management in our rollout project.
Scenario we wil be as follows:
1] SFG material need to be handled by Batch
2] FG material need to be handled by Batch
3] We want the Batch output of SFG to FG
Ex: let say we have manufactured SFG as ABCD123, this need to be processed again become FG at this time also we want batch as ABCD123.
How this can be achived & which is better either internal OR external.
    Please suggest
    Thanks
    DN

    Hi Don,
First things first both the SFG and the FG need to have the Batch Management indicator activated in the material master. Secondly in SPRO you can choose to activate Internal batch number assignment or leave it at default inactive status. Thirdly maintain the BOM for FG and SFG. When you are manufacturing or procuring the SFG you have the freedon of mentioning the Batch number in the goods receipt tab of the production order or in the batch tab of the MIGO transaction.
Once the SFG is in stock you can create a similar batch for the FG at the time of production and this is because both these materials are different and can be produced or procured or sold independently. So the batch becomes material specific.
I hope the solution was helpful
    Thanks and Regards

  • Any advantages to setting the AP-Manager and Management interface to an untagged vlan?

Any advantages to setting the AP-Manager and Management interface to an untagged vlan? Currently, our controllers have their management and ap-manager interfaces on the same untagged vlan. Would it be wise to change this? Are there any gotchyas I should be aware of?

No really, there won't be a problem. Management an AP-manager can be on different vlans.
The vlan you chose to untag is the vlan you should declare as native on the switch, that's it.
No advantage in having interfaces configured in a way or another.
Some people want the management to be in a "management" subnet and the ap-manager will be in the subnet with all the APs. Some others have several AP subnets so the ap-manager is in the same as management ... no importance whatsoever as long as the config is coherent.
The only thing that is worth considering is the size of AP subnet to me. If you give a /16 for APs and have 1000 APs in a single subnet, ARP and broadcast storms will be hitting the fan. But the vlan tag/untags that you chose are not important
