Note to moderators - mark sticky notes

I only occasionally come to this forum and each time i am a bit disoriented on the top of the forum trying to figure out which messages are sticky and which are new.
Can someone edit those message titles to all have *** or to have [sticky] on the front or back end of the message title.
I am not sure if all of the current stickies are relevant, but that is for someone other than me to decide.
Thanks for your consideration,
Rob.

Rob,
First 3 items are Folders (i.e. sub forums) - they're sticky by default and we cannot easily add markers to them, even if it made sense to do so, which it doesn't.
Fourth item down "Performance & Auto-write XMP" is already sticky and locked. You'll see that it has **- before and after the thread title.
Fifth item down "Pixmantec RawShooter Premium FAQ" is like the fourth (i.e. it's sticky), and it has **- before and after the thread title".
Sixth item down "Lightroom 1.4, Important Note from Adobe, March 16, 2007" is a note from the Product Manager. It's also sticky, but on a short life span (i.e. it will cut loose and drift down by itself in the near future).
>I am not sure if all of the current stickies are relevant, but that is for someone other than me to decide.
It's me or one of the other Hosts who might happen by who decides what is sticky or isn't, what can be seen or made invisible, etc, etc, etc. Occasionally an old thread/post will be sticky
and visible when it shouldn't be, that's an oversight on my part. Since I can see everything it's not always easy to pick out the odd thread where this happens. Furthermore, some threads might be set up by another Host but they forget to set access for the rest of us. When that happens we need to get the Sysop to fix the problem.
Finally, threads you haven't read will have a red flag. Threads you have read will not. So, distinguishing between the two is fairly easy.

  • How to move the sticky note in adobe touch reader?

The sticky note in adobe touch reader is automatically places right in the middle of the page. How can i move it ?
If it helps, im using windows surface rt
any help would be appreciated... thank you

When Adobe Reader Touch opens a sticky note, it places the open sticky note right in the middle of the screen like this.
(Click the image above to enlarge.)
But it does NOT mean that the sticky note itself has to be placed in the middle of a page.  You can move it to anywhere within a page.
To move a sticky note, select it with a mouse or your finger and start moving to where you want.  Please note that you cannot move a sticky note outside a page.
Once you select it, the sticky note icon becomes bigger with the blue border to indicate that it's ready to be moved.

  • I can't use the sticky note function-Help!

I have version 9 and I am not able to makes sticky notes in reviewing the work that is sent to me. I had version 5 where all worked well and recently got a new hard drive and installed Adobe Reader 9. I read that the document has to have permission to make comments and when I go to preferences it says that this document does not have permission....but when I call the person who sent it(graphic artist who works in Quark) -she said that nothing has changed and that it does have permission. Help! What do I do to be able to use the sticky note function again.
    Thanks,
    Glen
    [email protected]

I have noticed a similar problem at my friends computer. The small company he works for has a regular Apple Quad tower running Version Cue 3 w/ Leopard. The system has Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional installed. When he logs in and creates a PDF review, he is able to see the review window open up in Safari with the commenting features. Granted, since he has Adobe 9 Pro, he doesn't need to "Enable the Commenting" feature.
So we tested on his lap top that just had the Adobe Reader 9 (AR9) recently installed on a fresh copy of Tiger 10.4.11. He got his invite email and went to the server and was able to do all the functions except for one: when he went to check out the review and clicked to open the PDF, it came up with an JavaScript error indicating that the: This Document is Available for Review in Acrobat Reader. You must use Adobe Acrobat .. blah blah
So I did the next obvious step and went to AR9 and and "Enabled the Commenting". Saved it as a different document name and re imported it into the Version Cue through Bridge. I went back in and tried to initiate a new review with the updated file. SAME ERROR POPPED UP. Now, I was able to directly open the PDF document that I exported from AR9 on my friend's lap top (solo Reader) and the document loaded successfully.
The users all have the proper permissions. It works on a system with Acrobat but not with just the Reader installed. Any ideas out there?

  • 'Mark as not junk' not available

I have had some mail messages in brown indicating possible junk. There is an option under 'Mark' for 'Mark as junk mail', but not one for 'Mark as not junk'. What do I do, except file the message away and accept it? Or add sender to my address book? (I am new to Lion.)

    Hi David.
If you (successfully ) label the mail as JUNK, the Mail program eventually learns and when Mail arrives from that source, it auto marks it as JUNK.
Yes, simply highlight any unwanted mail, then delete and off it goes to Trash. Then review trash every so often, highlight the totally unwanted items ... and delete.
There is a bounce option under Apple menu > 'Message.   Not wise to use it as it signifys that the email address is open and manned ... the last thing you want them to know.
Hope this wraps up the rest of your inquiries.

  • How do I search for sticky notes in a PDF doc?

Several people (at work) have commented on a 440-page document that I created, using sticky notes to write their comments in. When I first open the document, the sticky notes are all closed. The icon for a closed sticky note is pretty small and not brightly colored, so they're easy to miss when scrolling through hundreds of image-heavy pages. I am hoping that it's possible to search for each occurrence of a sticky note.
If there is no way to search for the notes, is there a command I can use to open all the notes in the file (in one action) so that they are larger and easier to spot?
    Platform: Windows 8 PC
    Version: Acrobat 8
If this is not a feature available in Acrobat 8, is it possible to do this in later versions?
Apologies if this is not the right community for this question, but none of the ones listed seemed like the obvious choice, and there is no "miscellaneous" or "general" category. If there is a better community for the question, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Joyce.

Out the gate you've a problem.
The Acrobat 8 product family passed into "End of Support" many years ago (well before the release of Windows 8).
"End of Support" means -- well, just that eh.
The Acrobat 8 product family is not compatible with Windows 8.1, 8 or 7.
The Acrobat XI product family is compatible with Windows 8 / 8.1.
Regarding Comment and Mark Up Annotations:
With Acrobat 8 Pro use the "Comments List".
Same wit Acrobat 9 Pro, X Pro and XI Pro.
May be available with the various versions' "Standard" release.
The contents of a Comments List can be exported to a PDF report.
The filter an be used to display specific characteristics / attributes which then become the reports content when you output a report.
Having "8" the Help PDF file got loaded with the install of "8".
Use it to review the information provided on the Comments List.
    Be well...

  • Sticky notes for user sometimes are huge amongst other errors acrobat 9.5.5... repair did not fix

    The user writes:
    Hi,
Lately my PDF has been having small issues when I use it in engagement. Work paper references come up either giant or tiny. If I want to leave a "sticky note" it comes up as giant and then if I try to click on it to write in it its super
zoomed in and I can't even see where I would write, sometimes work paper references want me to do this too. When I try to resize tick marks they will also sometimes zoom in as a comment section. Today it has been occasionally freezing on a page and not letting
me scroll at all unless I toggle between the fit to screen and show one page buttons- it's like that resets the scrolling. It never used to do this so I'm not sure why it is now.
    Any suggestions would be great.
    Thanks,
    Dan
Edit: I should add we tested and indeed it's with all pdfs not just ones coming through engagement.

This problem was solved; the above note is just an aid for users experiencing similar problems.

  • Brighten Sticky Notes in Acrobat X?

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I couldn't find it.
I have Acrobat 9 on my desktop, and Acrobat X on a shared server, and use sticky notes to help mark sections of documents. These sticky notes are color-coded.
Sticky notes in Acrobat 9 are bright, primary colors, and are easily distinguishable when viewing them in "comments": it is easy to differentiate light blue from dark blue, red from pink, green from yellow, etc.
However, the same sticky notes when viewed in the "comment" view in Acrobat X interface all have a pastel hue to them, and it is very difficult to distinguish colors: what appears to be green may actually be blue, what appears to be pink may actually be red, etc.
Question: is there a way to "brighten" the color tone of the sticky notes in Acrobat X? They appear as bright primary colors when SELECTING the color of the sticky note in "properties," but when viewing them in "comments," especially when there are several sticky notes in a single document, they all just kind of blend together and it's very difficult to tell one shade from another.
Is there some kind of "classic" view, or a way to turn off the "pastel" effect of the sticky notes when viewed in the "comments" view?
    Thanks!

  • New "SQL Developer Team Announcements" sticky note

In the new SQL Developer Team Announcements sticky note posted a couple of days ago:
<li>Is "SQL Developer Team Announcements" the right title? It appears to be hard enough to get people to read these things anyway, and this suggests that it's either targetted at the SQL Developer Team, or contains information about them.
<li>The SQL Developer Exchange link for Enhancement Requests links to the sticky note, not the Exchange Feature Requests page.
<li>Suggest using "Forum Tips" or some other alternative instead of "Forum Etiquette": "etiquette" too obscure a term?
<li>"When asking a question, provide all the details that someone would need to answer it.": Can these be spelled out? e.g. SQL Developer version, DB version, Java version, OS etc.

Sue, thanks for the prompt attention.
3 sounds good: News, Posting Guidelines, and a FAQ for the rest? (sorry, I'd lump "collateral" in with "etiquette" as clarity goes).
    A FAQ with Qs like:
    <li>How do I report bugs?
    <li>Where do I request enhancements?
    <li>Where can I find extensions?
may be the best way to handle the "collateral" as it can retain the same (easily understood title) whilst being extendable to cover virtually anything.
As an example, I think Mark Drake has handled this well on the {forum:id=34} forum.

  • Sticky notes/comments

I'm having no luck trying to add comments/sticky notes to a large pdf file in a trial version of Acrobat 9.3. I'm assured I have document rights enabled. I can't access the Navigation toolbar. I can't access the sticky note cursor. My email is [email address deleted by host]   Thank you. Adrian

    Yes,
Adobe Reader does not provided comment & mark up functionality by itself.
    It is simply a "viewer".
If a PDF is "enabled" or "extended" with Acrobat Professional (8 or 9) then Adobe Reader can permit a user to make comments.

  • Sticky Notes and How to Manage Them

    Hi there,
I'm a tech author whose client uses Adobe Acrobat (I think)
to review PDF that my company generates (using Jaws I think). When
the reviews come back they are normally covered from start to
finish in 'sticky notes' containing feedback from a multitude of
sources. My question is fairly simply (although I fear the answer
will be expensive!): is there any way I can mark or in some way
keep track of which notes I've actioned/discarded in Adobe Reader?
    Thanks,
    Alex

  • Comments/Mark Up Not Showing

I was e-mailed a PDF with the Comments/Mark Up function enabled so I could edit it, but when I downloaded and opened it the Tools drop-down menu was not showing it as enabled. I know others have been sent the same file enabled in the same way and have had no problem. I got partly round this by upgrading from Reader 9 to Adobe Reader X, which has the Highlight/Sticky Note functions as standard and accessible by everyone, but unfortunately the Text Edit tool is still out of reach. Any ideas why Comments/Mark Up is being blocked in my case?

Thanks for sharing the screenshot John.
However, from what I can see from the PDF properties, I can see that the Commenting is indeed allowed on the PDF.
However, the PDF does not have the Extended Rights enabled. This is what is causing the Edit Text tool to not be displayed/enabled for you. Once the PDF is reader enabled, you will be able to see those options (as detailed at: http://blogs.adobe.com/dmcmahon/2011/09/17/acrobatreader-x-how-to-enable-the-typewriter-to ol/).
You will have to ask the initiator to resend the file post enabling the Reader Extended features. Instructions on as to how to go about it are detailed at: http://blogs.adobe.com/dmcmahon/2011/09/10/adobe-reader-fill-out-a-pdf-form-or-type-text-o n-a-pdf-file-using-adobe-reader/

  • Are sticky notes compatible with Cloud RDS 2012 R2 Server?

Greetings tech wizards.  We are running an RDS 2012 R2 Server in the Cloud, and I would like to pose a question: is the default windows sticky notes application compatible in a Cloud environment?  Multiple users would be using the application
at the same time.   Any expertise is appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi,
From your description seems you have performed all the steps and that’s the proper way for removing. Apart from this, there might some database left behind related to RDS server and we need to remove it for completely remove it.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Opacity and Windows Flip behaviour for Sticky Notes

I really like the new Sticky Notes application, but I would like that it would have opacity options, just like the old sticky notes sidebar gadget on Vista. My sticky notes look really out of place in my desktop with all my semi-transparent gadgets, and they block my wallpaper.
Also, could it be possible to remove them from the Windows Flip (alt-tab) windows? They don't appear in Flip3D, so there is no reason they would also appear in regular Flip.

You can move the file from the system gadgets folders to your user gadgets forders and edit the html of the gadget to do things like transparency.

  • Sticky Note (Text annotation)

    Hello,
I decided to add some sticky notes (text annotation) in my pdf document and I was surprised to see that the sticky notes were not printed. I used the "Document and Markups" option for the print and even in the print preview the Sticky Notes were not present.
Regarding the PDF Reference a sticky note is a Markup so it has to be printed.
Is it a bug? A normal behavior?
While I select the "Print notes and pop-ups" option in the Preferences - Commenting then the Sticky is printed (but also all notes and pop-ups

The Preferences > Commenting > Print notes and popups option takes priority when printing sticky notes - if it's deselected, they don't print at all. If it's selected, sticky notes will print in whatever state they're in (collapsed or open) provided they don't have a non-print attribute set against them.
Most people don't want stickies to print, as by their nature they are either collapsed (hence meaningless on paper) or will obscure some other part of the page. Text markups, stamps etc. can be printed without such issues, hence the above preference defaults to off.

  • I have safari in my iPad but bookmark is not working. I can not book mark any things.  How do I get back my bookmark working so that I can open the web page I have already booked marked.  Thank you for your answer

    I have iPad 2.
The safari bookmark was working yesterday.  Today book mark is not working.  I can not book mark anything.
Did I do anything to prevent stopping bookmark to store?  Please help me how to get back working my bookmark.  Thank you.

    See if this works.
Quit the Safari app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
