Number of clips limit in Ppro CS?

Is there a limit on how many clips Ppro CS5 can load into the project window for editing...and handle adequately?
I presently have a project that's loading 150 clips from 3 external hard drives into the project window for editing and it's doing fine. However, it will probably quadruple in the next week and it would be helpful to me right now to make a guess as to how many it can handle.
Anyone have a thought on this? Thanks.

There is probably a limit somewhere, beyond what one's computer can handle, but I do not recall seeing that.
One limitation is the 24 hr. Duration on a single Sequence's Timeline, but multiple Sequences get around that.
In earlier, I have done a Project that ended up being just short of 4000 SD-sized stills (not the same, obviously as Clips), several 100 MOV 3D animations, almost as many DV-AVI's, 100's of Titles, and 12 Audio Tracks, going to a 5.1 Master. Not one problem. These Assets were also on a FW-800 external. Yes, it took about 4 mins. to load, but no issues.
The connection of your externals could present problems, but with FW-800, or eSATA, there should be none. Working from FW-400 was too slow for me, and USB 2.0 connections came with their own set of issues.
Now, I was editing to/from, so it was more intense, than just accessing Assets. Hence, YMMV.
Maybe Todd, or Jeremy will know what the real "ceiling" is, but do not think you will be near that - whatever it is.

Max Number of Clips for Batch Capture?

Is there a maximum number of clips for batch capture?
I've had two failures today - FCP quit when tackling 208 short audio clips (around 4 - 10 seconds each). No video involved at all.
Is this too many for my expensive super-whizz quad thingy?
Over 360 GB free on my Hard Drive. Could it be my power save settings?
Currently tackling 30 at a time to be safe (we'll see).

I'm inclined to agree - it would have been easier all round if I'd captured the whole tape and then made subclips. I tend to shy away from this because when I used FCE, I had problems with longer captures going out of synch.
FCP seems to be coping OK with 30 at a time but doesn't appear to like 50. I know what you mean about all the shuffling - but surely it's only like asking the Mac to do a large calculation?
I've discounted the power saving theory as it happened after I changed the prefs to 'never'.
If anyone can shed more light on this topic, I'd be really grateful.

I dont see possibility to allow the changes in this field......

Be careful when you are using credit reference customer as system will take the overall overdue items (both the customer and reference customer) into account during credit processing. If it is a functional requirement then only you should suggest this.

Clip sent from PPro showing black in AE

Using a Windows 7 PC and PPro CS6, we added keyframes to a clip to adjust speed within that clip. Next, we sent that clip to AE in order to create high quality frame blending for smooth slow motion. Our problem: when we send the clip edited in PPro to AE using Adobe Dynamic link, it comes into AE black. What are we doing wrong? Is there a setting we need to change or steps that we need to do differently in order for the clip to come into AE correctly?

We sent the clip to AE via Adobe Dynamic Link.
We are less familar with AE and therefore used PPro and keyframes to do adjust the speed because we already knew how to do that. However, we've been told that AE does a much better job of creating high quality slow motion and that's why we were wanting to use it for frame blending. If you could lead us to a good overall tutorial on AE that would help us learn it better than we do today, that would be helpful.

SE30 - Unable to end the measurement (error number 5, Time limit reached)

I wish to perform a complete ABAP trace using SE30 for a program running for 4 hours. The system is R/3 4.6C.
However I got the error message below once I clicked "Back" button or F3 when the program finished after 4 hours.
Please note that ST12 is not available in the system I logged on.

The ABAP trace results only managed to capture the first 45 minutes of the ABAP calls (due to timeout i think). I would need the whole and complete ABAP trace result for 4 hours, NOT the first 45 minutes. Is there any setting in SE30 can be set for this purpose? Note that there is no ABAP error for the program I traced.

It's 4293 Actually and you set it on SE30 by change the Measurement Restrictions, tab Duration/Type.

Contract Number Display in Limit PO screen

Hello All,
I have some queries on Limit Items:
1) I reference a Contract while creating a Limit Order. But the value of the Limit PO is not added to the released value in the Contract (call off). The call offs happen perfectly well when we create a normal Purchase order.
2) In purchase orders referencing a contract, at the item level of the PO, the contract number is displayed. But in case of limit POs, the contract referenced is not displayed.
Is there a way to display the contract number in Limit PO?
Any inputs and guidance will be highly appreciated.

moreover, the contract call off for limit order is not a standard functionality.

Number of cocatenation limit

The company I work for develops software and for logging purposes they use concatenations:
"+ (String Concatenation)"
Now, we often have over 800 concatenations in our stored procedures when it concerns logging, but we heard from one of our foreign developers that the limit for these concatenations in SQL 2012 is 200. Now, I'm fairly sure this is not the case (and if it was,
would it not be a number like 256?), so I'm wondering now if there IS a limit and what it is?
Because if it's limited to a number like 256 we've got quite some work to do to rewrite all our logging procedures.

At some point you will cause the optimizer to exceed the stack limit and get error "8631 Server stack limit has been reached". But this will be a large number. Exactly what that number is will depend on what else your query is doing since other
things also consume stack space. And the number is much greater than 200. For example the following SQL builds a statement that concatenates 3500 strings, and then executes that statement successfully.

There is no formal limit, but issues like the amount of RAM and disk space you have can come into play.

Question Re: connecting 2960C switch to 3750 stack, max number of VLANS limit...

Hypothetical question: Let's suppose for example I've got a 3750 switch stack in a data center with over 300 VLANs defined on the 3750 stack, and that stack is also my VTP domain server. I wish to connect a small compact 2960C switch (which has a max limit of 255 VLIDs) as a VTP client to the 3750 stack's VTP domain and have the port at each end of this uplink connection set up to be an 802.1q trunk, but limit the VLIDs trunked to the 2960 to just a small handful (let's say just 3 or 4 vlans) via for example something like "switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2,11,18" on the uplink port of the 2960C switch. Will the mere fact that there are hundreds of VLIDs present in the vlan configs on the 3750 stack confuse the little 2960C switch's max 255 vlans limits? Or will the 2960C with its "Lan Base" software happily show all 300+ vlans present in the parent switch stack in a "show vlan" command but simply only let you activate up to the 255 limit locally on that switch?
Normally I'd just use a 3560C switch with IP Base software for this purpose and not worry about any vlan max limit, but we're having to penny-pinch the project and save a few hundred dollars on this compact switch purchase and I've never used the 2960 family before. The small compact switch will be used to host a non-Cisco, 3rd party wireless LAN controller with several APs that will have a handful of different SSIDS, each on a separate vlan, and will not be located in the data center, but in another building connected by a fiberoptic link that will carry the "trunk".
EDIT: I found an old discussion thread where someone else was faced with a similar scenario, and he discovered that even with using "switchport trunk allowed..." and "switchport trunk pruning..." commands on the interfaces at both ends of the link, that the 2960 switch would still fall out of VTP client mode into transparent mode, which make you lose the benefit of having centralized management of a VTP domain. Seems the VTP protocol will always publish the full list of vlans from the server and this blows the mind of the small switches which drop into VTP transparent mode because they cannot handle all that many spanning tree sessions. Looks like the 2960 simply cannot be used in a high-vlan-density network if you wish to preserve central VTP domain management features. Rats.

The house network machine can browse and playback/stream video fine, however at the same time the machine on the wireless shows significant slowdown when browsing the web.
The issue is defiantly on the wireless side, If i plug a machine directly into the switch and assign it a static ip, i do not get slowdown, so this is happening before it reaches the poe switch.
So many factors affect the way to stream data up and down wireless. Sure, I have seen >40 clients on 802.11a AND 802.11b radio of a single 1140 AP. But this is not good. Why? Because wireless is a very "noisy" environment. When one talks, everyone else has to stop, listen and waits for their turn. The > 80 wireless clients connected to the 1140 AP had a detected maximum speed of 11 Mbps and they couldn't get any higher than that. They couldn't get any lower than 11 Mbps because I've disabled lower data rates.
You said you hard-code the channels to 1, 6 and 11 but what is the co-channel interferrence like in your wireless environment?

Number of characteristics limit in list mode of BMBC

We have a class that contains 232 characteristics,
When we try to display a list view of the selected batches in "Selection result for stock" section we get Message no. 12527: Not all characteristics from selection class XXX are displayed.
Does anyone have an idea how I can change this limitation?

i now have a $350 a year site but i have up to 3000 100k
limit. Can one have the same amount here too?

Each "Photo" page can only hold 99 images, how many pages you can put into a site......I have no idea. I have 8 albums on one site (not max'd out to 99 images), I am sure that others may be able to chips in with numbers

i think in the BBPS_MON_SC_ITEM structure we can know the contract no asigned to limit item PO as in that structure the ITM_TYPE field specifices whether it is a normal Shopping cart or Limit cart. And there are many other structures which you can search via SE16.

Number of Bars Limit - Can it be turned off?

Having made the jump from Sonar, I am not used to the limiting of the number of bars in a project. I know how to increase it, but is there a way to have it off as a default.
Secondly, what purpose does limiting the number of bars serve? I don't get it.

If the length of the Project is defined (as per the Arrangmenet End Marker or the End Bar number in the Transport), the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the Arrangement begins to make sense and it's a lot easier to navigate. Also, you define the length of Freeze files by this. And the length that looped Regions run. I'm sure there's more, even.

How to put edited AE clips back into PPro? (CS5.5)

Okay, so, here it goes.
I edit my main footage in Premiere Pro. I recently purchased a denoising software that only is compatible with After Effects, so I have been using the denoiser plugin in After Effects. After I edit my basic video cut in Premiere, I select all of the clips (including audio) in the timeline, and open it in a new AE comp. After it has been opened, I do all of my major video touch ups in AE (such as denoising). Now, when I try to export the project as a Premiere Pro (PP) project and open it in Premiere, it doesn't load the project. It's just an empty sequence. That is not a big deal though, because I tried something else. I tried linking the AE composition from AE to PP which works, but it is very slow and precomposes all of the individual clips into one video clip.
So, just to go over it again, this is what I did: Cut clips in PP > Selected all clips in the timeline of PP and opened them in a new AE comp > Edited the individual clips inside the AE comp w/ effects that are not supported by PP (only AE supports the denoiser effect) > opened the edited AE comp in PP > then the comp came up as a precomposed video clip instead of individual clips.
So, my question is, how do I get the comp from AE to stay as individual clips when I open it in PP in case I need to adjust something? Is there a way to do this? Or should I just do the denoise effect very last?
Two other things:
(1) I noticed that it is extremely slow in PP to render parts of an AE comp... is it just because of the added effects?
(2) I transcode my video footage to ProRes 422 before I bring them into PP. Once I bring the clips into AE and then back into PP (if I figure out how to), will the clips still be the same ProRes codec? I need them to be the same codec due to color grading and effects later on in post.

I select all of the clips (including audio) in the timeline, and open it in a new AE comp.
That's where you messed up. Instead, right click on each clip you want to fix, and choose Replace with After Effects Composition. Then redo your effects.

Capture Clip Limit 9:25:15

I just installed Final Cut, bought my computer with specificiations chosen for the program, and while trying to capture clips it stops at exactly 9:25:15 saying "There is a lack of disk space." I have a 500 gb hard drive and 500 gb external, and 2gb of RAM that I know the computer isn't utilizing fully. As far as I can tell I can't find limiters to recording time. The consistency of clip time before "disk space" error is strange as well. Any help would be amazing!
