Number of logins in an single ADF Application

Hi All ,
We have developed an application in ADF 11g , now we have a requirement to find out how many logins are there in an application ,
Can any one help us in this ..
Thanks ,
Karthik

Hi,
chapter 30 of the ADFdeveloper guide is about security and shows a programmatic login sample. Upon successful login, you can count up a counter - e.g. managed bean in application scope. However, you need to find a way to detect users that disconnect from your application, which is not trivial as they could just close the browser

    Hi,
    There are lots of STATE is available for composite instances, like mentioned in the below query. I hope you will get answer from the below query.
    SELECT (CASE WHEN STATE=1 THEN 'OPEN AND RUNNING'
    WHEN STATE=2 THEN 'OPEN AND SUSPENDED'
    WHEN STATE=3 THEN 'OPEN AND FAULTED'
    WHEN STATE=4 THEN 'CLOSED AND PENDING'
    WHEN STATE=5 THEN 'CLOSED AND COMPLETED'
    WHEN STATE=6 THEN 'CLOSED AND FAULTED'
    WHEN STATE=7 THEN 'CLOSED AND CANCELLED'
    WHEN STATE=8 THEN 'CLOSED AND ABORTED'
    WHEN STATE=9 THEN 'CLOSED AND STALE'
    WHEN STATE=10 THEN 'NON-RECOVERABLE'
    ELSE STATE || ''
    END) AS STATE, component_name, COUNT(*) AS NUM_OF_CUBE_INST FROM CUBE_INSTANCE where composite_name='PASS THE COMPOSITE NAME HERE..........'
    group by (CASE WHEN STATE=1 THEN 'OPEN AND RUNNING'
    WHEN STATE=2 THEN 'OPEN AND SUSPENDED'

  • Error while loading a 10.1.3 ADF application login page on JBoss EAP 6.0.1

    I have a 10.1.3 ADF application that runs well on Web Sphere and OC4J. I'm trying to run it on JBoss EAP 6.0.1. The ear file was deployed successfully to JBOSS and according to ADF logging the connection to Oracle database is established.
    But when I try to load the application login page, I obtain the following exception

  • ADF Application and Oracle Portal Login Page

    We have developed ADF application and deployed it in Oracle AS 10.1.2 along with the custom JAAS module, which is working fine with the application custom login page. As a next page, I want to use Oracle Portal login page for the authentication and authorization.
    How can I accomplished it? Any idea?
    Thanks,
    AP

    Shay,
    1. I created blank ADF project
    2. I copied myreport.jsp file (this one was generated by Oracle Report Builder) under ..ViewController/public_html directory
    3. Created directory 'lib' under ViewController/public_html/WEB-INF/lib
    4. Copied reports_tld.jar file under the directory created in 3.
    5. Created simple jspx page with the af:link (btw af:goLink does not exists in JDev 12c), set 'destination' to myreport.jsp
    After the steps above I could not even compile the application, many problems too many to list here, Basically JDev is trying to build the project with .jsp file generated in Report Builder and is unable to.
    So to be sure we are on the same page: I am trying to embed JSP report files generated by Report Builder into ADF project, then create EAR file and deploy on standalone WLS. Finally execute JSP web only report.

  • How to pass parameter from SSO login page to ADF application page?

    We have ADF-JSF application (running on AS 1013) that is being protected by OID running on AS 1012. SSO login page contains (among others) paramter ssousername and I wish to pass this to my ADF application. For the testing purpose I created ADF application entry point page that has something like this:
    <h:outputText value="#{param.ssousername}"/>and my sso login page has:
    <input type="text" size="30" maxlength="50" name="ssousername" value="<%=str_user%>">OID and ADF OC4j are running on two different servers, same network.
    So after successful login, when my page displays param passed is NULL?!
    Why?

    I solved it with the following....when my page loads, I execute test method:
        public void processLogin(String ssousername) {
             Object o  = JSFUtils.getUserFromSSOLogin();
             if (o!=null) System.out.println(o.toString());
        public static Object getUserFromSSOLogin(){
            FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            return ctx.getExternalContext().getRemoteUser();
        }

  • Email address as an username for the ADF application login.

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement in our ADF application by creating usernames as an email address .We created an ADF application and deployed on the server by creating some users in the jazn-data.xml in our project code with the users as "admin1","admin2" as the actual requirement is to created the usernames as an email address say example "[email protected]".
    Can we create the user names with the email address as i have created some usernames in the Enterpise Manager as it dosent allow the special characters other thatn "."
    Any help in this highly appreciated.
    Please see the below link
    Re: Email address as an User in ADF application.
    Regards,
    Nagaraju .D

    Nagaraju,
    You can configure the application to use a different security mechanism other than jazn-data.xml (known as the file-based provider). Using something like LDAP or a custom JAAS provider would enable you to do what you want.
    The security documentation for OC4J is [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/web.1013/e12514/toc.htm]here

  • How to implement an audit system to track ADF applications DML activity?

    We have implemented a complete audit system for one of our databases in order to keep history for every table and every value that has been modified.
    The solution that we currently have can be split into two discrete parts:
    1. Keeping a record of all connections to the db account
    This is achieved via a table ‘user_sessions’ into which we record data for every session in the database with the help of on-logon and on-logoff triggers and some PL/SQL procedures:
    Column name        |  Explanation
    -------------------|-------------------------------------------
    US_ID              | PK, based on a sequence
    SESSION_ID         | sys_context('USERENV' ,'SESSIONID')
    USER_NAME          | sys_context('USERENV' ,'OS_USER')
    LOGON_TIME         | when the on-logon trigger fires
    LOGOFF_TIME        | when the on-logoff trigger fires
    USER_SCHEMA        | sys_context('USERENV' ,'SESSION_USER')
    IP_ADDRESS         | sys_context('USERENV' ,'IP_ADDRESS')
    us_id |session_id |user_name|user_sschema|ip_address|logon_time               |logoff_time
    560066|8498062       |BOB      |ABD         |1.1.1.2   |14-SEP-06 03.51.52.000000|14-SEP-06 03.52.30.000000
    560065|8498061       |ALICE    |ABC         |1.1.1.1   |14-SEP-06 02.45.31.000000|14-SEP-06 04.22.43.0000002. Keeping the history of every change of data made by a given user
    For every table in the account there is a corresponding history table with all of the columns of the original table plus columns to denote the type of the operation (Insert, Delete, Update), start and end time of validity for this record (createtime, retiretime) and us_id (which points to the user_sessions table).
    The original table has triggers, which fire if there is an insert, update or delete and they insert the data into the corresponding history table. For every record inserted into a history table the us_id taken from the user_sessions table is recorded as well, allowing us to determine who has modified what data via the combination of these two tables.
    Below is an example of a table TASKS, the history related triggers and the history table TASKS_HIST.
    At the moment we are developing new applications by using ADF. Since there is an Application Module Pool and Database Connection Pool implemented for the ADF, one connection to the database could be used by several users at different moments of time. In that case the history records will point to a database session logged into the user_sessions table, but we will not know who actually modified the data.
    Could you, please, give us a suggestion, how we can know at any moment of time who (which of our users currently making use of an ADF application) is using a given database connection?
    By way of an example of the problem we are facing, here is how we solved the same problem posed by the use of Oracle Forms applications.
    When the user starts to work with a given Forms application, user_sessions table would attempt to record the relevant information about he user, but since the db session was created by the application server, would in actual fact record the username and ip address of the application server itself.
    The problem was easy to solve due to the fact that there is no connection pooling and when a user opens their browser to work with Forms applications, a db connection is opened for the duration of their session (until they close their browser window).
    In that case, the moment when the user is authenticated (they log in), there is a PL/SQL procedure called from the login Form, which updates the record in the user_sessions table with the real login name and ip address of the user.
    Example of a table and its ‘shadow’ history table
    CREATE TABLE TASKS (
         TASKNAME     VARCHAR2(40),
         DESCRIPTION  VARCHAR2(80)
    ALTER TABLE TASKS ADD (
         CONSTRAINT TASKS_PK PRIMARY KEY (TASKNAME));
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TASKS_HISTSTMP
    BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE OR DELETE ON TASKS
       BEGIN
         HISTORY.SET_OPERATION_TIME('TASKS');

    Frank,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I checked the site that you mentioned.
    I try the sample “demo with bundle. The sample worked.
    But it needed to start separately with the application.
    I do not know how to build a help system with the existed web application developed with Jdeveloper (It has two projects: model and user-view-control. It is deployed on Oracle Application server).
    Could you help me step by step to build the help system?

  • Configuring Multiple Schemas in Oracle ADF application

    Hi,
    Thanks all for the replies for my previous posts :-)
    We have a requirement in which we need to configure our application for multiple Database schema. At runtime based upon the logged in user we need to get data from the schema related to that user.
    These schema may be on same Database instance/server or may be on different DB servers.
    The requirement is like this
    Logged in User DB schema configured
    "A" ASchema @ 127.0.0.1
    "B" BSchema @ 127.0.0.2
    "C" ASchema @  127.0.0.1
    "D" Dschema @ 127.0.0.2
    based on the User login (which is happening through one OID system), I need to fetch data from different schema (configured for different application).
    These schema have different set of tables but set of table we require for our application are of same structure.
    Same structure means same Table names with same relations.
    Please let me know can we do the same in Oracle ADF application and How?_
    One more requirement is that if i add a user at runtime and configure the DB schema for this user, All data related to this users will be loaded from this Schema which is configured for this user.
    Thanks in Advance,

    You can try the below example to change database at run time.
    in the filter change the connection and not the credentials
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/dynamicjdbchowto-101755.html#03.
    Most of the other part is done to handle state management tables, which you might also have to do unless you use a file passivation store or if its ok to passivate to a single database always.
    If its ok to passivate to a single db always. Hard code the jbo.server.internal_connection in the AM configurations to a DB jndi name.
    Adf allows you to activate and passivate to a different database other than what you are connected to get and put data.

  • ADF Application Architecture

    Hi All,
    I am new to ADF and working with some vendor to transform our in-house Oracle Form Application to ADF Application and we have more than 300 Oracle Forms to translate.
    Basically after the login page, we will have a main menu, and then from the main menu, user can access to different modules (e.g. Customer Profile / Supplier Profile / Order Processing etc..). One of the critical point is that there will different shared variable pass from the main menu to each module and from each module back to the main menu.
    We have successfully translate a few Oracle Form to ADF JSF Application. However, before continue the project, we would like to confirm the application architecture.
    Checking on Oracle Website / different ADF forum, basically they will packaging all their ADF program in 2 different approach.
    Approach (1):
    i) Create a common workspace which put all the common EO, VO, AM, Task Flow Template, Page Template, Skin, etc and export as an ADF Library
    ii) Create different Bounded Task Flow Workspace with its corresponding Model and View Controller for different modules (e.g. Customer Profile / Supplier Profile / Order Processing etc..) and then export as an ADF Library
    iii) Create a master workspace with View Controller to contains an Unbounded Task Flow to tier all the different modules together as an EAR file.
    Approach (2)
    i) Create a common workspace which put all the common EO, VO, AM, Task Flow Template, Page Template, Skin, etc and export as an ADF Library
    ii) Create different workspace with its corresponding Model and View Controller for different modules (e.g. Main Menu / Customer Profile / Supplier Profile / Order Processing etc..) and then export as an EAR file
    From Approach (2), when I need to pass parameter from Main Menu to Customer Profile, since they are from different application, I can only pass it through URL or database. But it seems to be not a very approach. May I know is there other way to passing parameter between different ADF Application ?
    From Approach (1), it seems that the parameter can be passed using the bean since they are under one master workspace. However, from some of the forum said, if there is too many modules (my case is ~ 300 modules, there will be a problem on the CPU, RAM and JVM may not be able to start.
    May I know is it correct from my assumption ? Also may I know which approach should I use ? Thanks !!
    Best Regards,
    Eric

    Hi Timo,
    Thanks for your reply. Yes I have watch the ADF Architecture TV Episode too. But I still cannot figured out which approach I should using. From the video, it said that sum of the parts may risk from the start up of JVM when you have too many application. Pillar architecture can solve that problem however parameter may need to pass through different ADF application since they are compiled as different EAR file. But passing the parameter through URL / database package seems not an excellent idea.
    Moreover, since all those ~300 modules are different and may not related from each other, so it may not be a suitable case to put multiple forms into one ADF application in my case. Also our system have frequently change request from the user and those request are usually handled by different developer. So I guess it may be better to put it in different ADF application instead of putting in a single one.
    Any advice ?  Thanks !
    Eric

  • Large ADF Applications - Best Practice

    Hi
    We have a single ADF project (one model, one view/controller) with the following model components:
    68 AMs
    387 VOs
    175 EOs
    This project is ever expanding, and we are suffering some well-known performance problems when open JDeveloper or open the view/controller project.
    Are there any best-practice guidelines on how to structure your ADF projects?
    e.g. what is the maximum recommended number of AMs/VOs/EOs in a single project?
    We have kept everything in a single project after some advice from Oracle to help us to re-use common modules easily.
    We use JDeveloper v10.1.3 and use JHeadstart v10.1.3 SU 1 to generate our view/controller layer, using multiple faces-config files.
    Thanks
    Denis

    Hi Denis,
    We have exactly the same problem in expanding our application but we have a single AM and less EOs, VOs than you right now. There are some threads discussing this issue but I haven't found a complete and standard solution yet. The only thing I know is that almost every thing can be segmented in ADF like projects, application module, faces-config.xml, ...
    Another thing which is very important is that segmenting an application is a tradeoff, it has some advantaes but problems in SCM, security, ...

    I'm using Jdeveloper and i note the Jdev inserts some servlets into the web.xml file ! is it possible that the probleme is related to this ? (below the web.xml file)

  • Creating Extranet and Intranet in a single web application?

    I'm confused ... again! Maybe you can help.
    Microsoft's best practices for setting up SharePoint 2013 is to utilize a single web application in a single web application pool.
    My Network Topology
    I am setting up my intranet AND extranet in a back-to-back perimeter network topology using Claims and Kerberos Constrained Delegation. I will have a dedicated AD instance on the DMZ which my clients will be added to. My corporate users will access the site
    via ADFS using their credentials on our internal network. There will be only a One Way Trust wherein the extranet AD will trust the corporate AD. We will be using Host named site collections and giving clients their own URL. They will basically be accessing
    a single list and perhaps a page that gives them some reports about tasks across a few sub-sites and the a status of a single workflow on the root site of their site collection.
    My SharePoint Topology
    I would like to follow MS' Best Practice as stated above but I'm not clear on a few things.
    1. Does it matter whether my extranet or intranet is on the Default Zone? I'm thinking that the intranet should be on the default since that is where Search crawls and that's the only place where search will be used in any way.
    Is it possible to have two sets of permissions on a single web application, one for internal and one for external, without extending the default zone to create the extranet and thereby creating a new IIS website (webapp) in the process?
    Thank you!

  • How to access to a resource in the ADF application?

    Hi
    I have a jasper report file named report.jrxml in the following path in my ADF application named “app”:
    app\ViewController\src\org\nmp\app\view\report
    I wanna access to this file inside a java file located in the ViewController project as follows:
    InputStreaminSt = new FileInputStream(new File(“app\ViewController\src\org\nmp\app\view\report\report.jrxml”));
    But I get the following exception:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: app\ViewController\src\org\nmp\app\view\report\report.jrxml (The system cannot find the path specified)
    How could I access to this resource in my application? I am using JDev 11.1.2.3
    Cheers,
    Ferez

    Timo,
    I made a test case named fileaccess and uploaded it here:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/2200118787/fileaccess.zip
    Just open the project in JDev 11.1.2.3, the Model project is empty and in the viewController project there is a single page named home.jsf in which contains a commandButton. Clicking the button executes the #{fileAccess.readFile} method. The fileAccess bean is located in org.company.fileaccess.view.beans and introduced in faces-config.xml. Body of readFile method is as the following:
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(new File("/org/company/fileaccess/view/resources/file.txt")); file.txt is located in org.company.fileaccess.view.resources and viewController project is set to copy .txt files into output directory. Clicking the button causes FileNotFoundException.
    Thank you in advance,
    Ferez
