Number of uncommited transactions to a specific table

Hello!
Is there a way to get the number of uncommited transactions to a specific table?
Best regards
Dannie

Hello!
The problem is that I am doing a merge from an external table, and I want to know how many rows were actually merged into the table. Before i had to merge data into the table, I could simply do a select (*) from the external table to figure out how many rows were inserted, but I dont know how to get it from a merge. It does not work to select(*) on the target table before and after the insert, as its is VERY big.
Maybe there is a way to get a merge to tell you how many rows were affected by a merge?
Suggestions?
Best regards
Dannie

  • Set transaction statement reserving specific tables

    Hello,
    In the past ten years I developed on Oracle Rdb (on OpenVMS platform). In Rdb there's a possibility to reserve specific tables for shared read only, others for read write due to locking mechanisms. E.g.:
    SET TRANSACTION READ WRITE RESERVING EMPLOYEES FOR PROTECTED WRITE, JOBS, SALARY_HISTORY FOR SHARED READ;
    COMMIT ;Is there a similar way in 10gR2?

    There was a discussion on this last year.
    See Slightly off topic: Read-only tables pre 11g
    Then, again, 11g supplies this "out of the box"

  • What is the exact purpose of Transaction NACE and NAST Table?

    Hi All,
    What is the exact purpose of Transaction NACE and NAST Table?
    Pls help me…
    Akshitha.

    Hi
    When a Output type in an apllication doc is configured with a Medium, Partner, Lang and other communication paramters an entry is created in NAST table
    so to trigger the output an entry in NAST is compulsory
    Output is a link between the Driver Program and the Sapscript,
    An output type summarizes messages of the same meaning. It contains parameters that are valid for all its assigned messages, for example appropriate partner functions.
    Transmission medium is a medium which the layout will be come out, this may be printout, Fax or Mail
    Check this link.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c8/19884743b111d1896f0000e8322d00/content.htm
    ex-how to config output type.
    You will assign output types using Transaction NACE.
    Do the follow steps to assign output type
    1)Select Application Type V2 which will have description Shipping.
    2)Click on Output types button.
    3)Go to change mode by pressing Ctrl+F4.
    4)Select one output type which already exists
    5)Do Copy As(F6)
    6)Give your output type against Output Type field.
    7)Under General data Tab, Give Program and Form routine and Save the data.
    i think it a work of functional guy but at senior level i think it is not a big deal for abaper.
    Check the following documentation
    In NACE t-codewe have the application for each one. based on the application output type can be defined, based on output type script and print progrma can be defined.
    If suppose data can be read from EDI then we should go for condition records.
    So whenever we execute the script first composer checks the output type and then execute the program. in program whenever opn form FM will be populate then script will open first. After that again program till another FM will populate if it then script will populate........like it is cycle proces. Composer does all these things and at last it will submit that output to spool.
    Go to the Transaction NACE.
    choose the related sub module.. like billing or shipping
    doubel click on Output Types
    Choose the Output Type for which whcih you wanted your script to trigger
    Then select the Output Type and double click on Processing Routine
    Then go to create new entries--> Select the Medium (1- print output), then enter your Script and Print Program detls --> Save and come out
    Now go to the Transaction (for which you have created the output type)... Issue output--> Select the output type --> Print....
    Device Types for SAP Output Devices (Detail Information)
    Definition
    The device type indicates the type of printer to be addressed. When you define an output device, choose the name of the device type that was defined in the SAP System for your printer model, such as Post2 for a PostScript printer. In the case of frontend printing under Microsoft Windows, you can also use the generic (device-independent) device type SWIN.
    The system uses the information in the device type to convert a document from the internal SAP character representation (spool request in OTF or in text format) to a device-specific, print-ready data stream (output request). Since a device type specifies attributes that apply to all devices of a certain model, it can be shared among device definitions. For example, all devices in the SAP spool system that are compatible with Hewlett-Packard LaserJet IIID printers would use the HPLJIIID device type.
    You should not confuse the device type with the printer driver. The device type is the total of all attributes of an output device that the SAP System must know to control the output device correctly, such as control commands for font selection, page size, character set selection, and so on. These attributes also include the printer driver that SAPscript/Smart Forms (the SAP form processor) should use for this printer. The SAPscript printer driver that is to be used for devices of this type for output formatting is therefore only an attribute that the device type specifies.
    How do I choose the correct device type?
    • In most cases, the SAP System already provides the appropriate device type for the printer type for the printer model that you want to use.
    These standard device types are completely defined and need no modification or extension before you use them in device definitions.
    • You can also download missing device types from the sapserv server. For a current list of the supported device types, see SAP Note 8928 in the SAP Service Marketplace.
    • Most printers can be controlled using a generic format, such as PostScript. They can be switched to a mode that is compatible with one of the standard printers for which an SAP device type is available. In this case, a supported model is emulated.
    • Almost all printers are delivered with Microsoft Windows printer drivers. The system can control these printers with the generic (device-independent) device type SWIN. The Microsoft Windows spool system then performs the processing of the print data.
    • If the specified device types are not available, and generic device types cannot be used, you must create your own device type or edit a copy of an existing device type. We recommend that only those with specialist knowledge of the SAP Spool System and printer driver code do this. For more information, see Defining a New Device Type .
    Attributes of a Device Type
    A device type is distinguished by the attributes listed below. If you change an existing device type or create a new device type, you must change at least some of these attributes.
    • Character set: A character set specifies the codes with which characters must be represented in the print-ready output stream (output request). This code replaces the generic SAP characters set that is used internally by the SAP spool system (spool request).
    • Printer driver: You can specify different printer drivers for printing SAPscript documents and ABAP lists.
    • Print controls: Print controls represent printer operations, such as boldface or changing the font size. These print control are replaced by printer-specific commands during the creation of the output request from a spool request.
    • Formats: Formats specify the format supported by the SAP system. The system differentiates between SAPScript formats (DINA4 and LETTER) and ABAP list formats (X_65_132 = 65 rows/132 columns).
    • Page format: A page format is the interface between a format and SAPscript. It specifies the paper dimensions with which SAPScript can calculate the row and column lengths.
    • Actions: Actions are output device-specific commands that are required for the implementation of a format. The action printer initialization, for example, can contain a printer command with which the number of rows on a page is defined. There is a set of actions for every format supported by a device type.

  • How to query uncommited transactions

    Hi Does anyone know how to query Oracle database from SQL*Plus to view uncommitted transactions?
    Thanks

    I noticed after I posted that I had used a package I found on the web called list that includes several useful functions. So in case someone wants it, here are the package and body:

    -- list_in - A delimited list to be parsed.
    -- delimiter - The delimiter to be used for parsing the list. Defaults
    -- to a comma.
    -- null_item - What to do with null items in the list. A null item is created
    -- by consecutive occurances of the delimiter. Valid values are
    -- 'KEEP' to allow items in the list to be null, or 'SKIP' to ignore
    -- null items, ie. treat consecutive occurances of delimiters as a
    -- single delimiter. The default is 'KEEP'.
    -- delimiter_use - How the delimiter is to be interpreted. Valid values are

    -- of a delimiter which must be matched exactly, or 'ANY' to treat
    -- the delimiter string as a set of single character delimiters, any

  • No Of Transaction Per Schema Or Table

    Hi all,
    Is there any way to know how many transaction made on specific schema (insert,update,delete,query)
    Regards,

    Helios- Gunes EROL wrote:
    Just an idea, you may create trigger for DML and count them But what would the number mean?
    For example, the number is a 1000 transactions (commits) done for the day that updated/inserted/deleted rows in the INVOICES table as part of the transaction.
    It does not say how may rows from the INVOICES were affected. It does not say how much redo was consumed. It does not give an idea of the duration of the transaction. It does not say anything about how many other tables were affected by the transaction. It does not say anything about the amount of read and write I/O were spend by these transactions. That number of a 1000 transactions is meaningless.
    So a simple way to get the number of transactions per table is to use the following SQL:
    select table_name, round(dbms_random.value(:1,:2)) as TRANSACTIONS from user_tables order by 1;
    where
      :1 = minimum expected transactions (or roll 1d20 and multiply by 5)
      :2 = maximum expected transactions (or roll 1d20 and multiply by a 1000)Click here for proof.

    Total Calc Elapsed Time for [test.csc] : [1.44] seconds
    =============================================================
    I did a simple test on my Sample.basic application then ..
    loaded the calc data to it and then used the below script to export to a flat file
    //ESS_LOCALE English_UnitedStates.Latin1@Binary
    SET DATAEXPORTOPTIONS
                    DataExportLevel "Level0";
                    DataExportOverwriteFile ON;
                    DataExportColFormat OFF;
                    DataExportDimHeader OFF;
    FIX(
                "Jan",
                "Sales",
                "Actual"
    /*DATAEXPORT "File" "," "/home/hypadmin/samtest.txt";*/
    DATAEXPORT "DSN" "Abhitest" "sample" "sa" "welcome1";
    ENDFIX
    out put as below:
    "Sales"
    "100-30","California"
    "Jan","Actual",145
    Now In sql I created only 3 columns with name Jan/Sales/Actual and when I run this script again with comments removed .. I get the same error as what I have got in my first test case with other application ..
    but when I create the columns with same name as what its in export
    Sales/100-30/Califirnia/Jan/Actual
    It created the new rows successfully ..
    So with this I think the error which I am getting with my other application might be because of the same column issue  .. but then I have created all the columns by looking at the export file only as I did in sample ..
    Any idea would be helpful ..
    Thanks
    Abhishek
    I

    First make sure you add
    DataExportRelationalFile ON;
    to your set commands it is missing
    I alwats like to also add
    DataExportColHeader dimensionName;
    so I am sure what dimension is getting put into the columns.
    Then count the number of dimensions in your outline (exclude attribute dimensions). You need at least that many columns in your table  -1 + the number of  members you will be returning as columns in the export
    Taking your example Sample basic has 5 dimensions
    Measures
    Years
    Scenario
    Product
    Market
    Since you did not specify a dataexportcolheader it took the dense dimension Scenario as the columns. Your fix statement is limiting that to one member. Doing the math
    5 -1 + 1 = 5 columns in your table which is what you found works.  Suppose you fixed on bothe Actual and budget in scenario then you would need 6 columns 5 -1 +2

  • SQLPS - Checking for a specific table

    I am trying to check for a table existence in each database.  Any ideas why this does not work?
    Import-Module
    "sqlps" -DisableNameChecking
    $SQLServer
    = "wobdslezberg2"
    Set-Location
    SQLSERVER:
    $dbArray
    = Get-ChildItem
    -name -Exclude
    "tempdb*",
    "master*",
    "model*",
    "msdb*" |
    Sort-Object
    foreach ($DatabaseName
    in $dbArray)
    $instance =
    $DatabaseName
    #write-host  $instance
    if (test-path
    "SQLSERVER:\SQL\wobdslezberg2\DEFAULT\Databases\$instance\Tables\eConfig") {write-host
    "exists"}
    else {write-host
    "not exists"}

    I am trying to iterate through all the databases on the server and check for the existence of a specific table in each database.
    Actually that line does work fine because if I comment out the if test-path line, I get results as expected.  and I get list of tables like this
    dbo.SRC04_TABLES
    How do I put in the schema (dbo) in the test-path?
    The test-path does not seem to work as I get this message

  • Asigning Reports, specific tables and Url links to the Role

    Hello Gurus,
    could you please tell me the procedure of asigning Reports, specific tables and Url links in the role.actually i know the process of assigning T-Codes to the role but i dont know the procedure for reports and url links and tables...
    i hope u people will respond positively.
    Cheers.......

    Hi Srinivas,
    "i want to add only one particular table not all tables", you can do this using a Custom Transaction Code, the following are the steps to do it:
    1) goto se93, give a unique name, say zxxx
    2)Enter SE16 into the transaction field and select the flag the ‘skip initial screen’ field:
    3)On the lower portion of the screen, enter the following information:
    Name of screen field: DATABROWSE-TABLENAME
    Value: Enter the name of the table you want to browse with
    4)save it.
    5) Now add the transaction zxxx in th role, and assign it to the user.
    With this, when user executes the transaction, he/she will be able to see only the perticular table you added.
    "in PFCG what is the use of Exper mode for profile generation. what is the difference between general profile generation and expert mode profile generation".
    Expert mode has 3 options:
    1) Delete and recreate profile and authorizations---This will completely delete the old profile and add only  the new once.
    2) Edit old status----It will edit the old values
    3) Read old status and merge with new data----This will add the new values aithout actually disturbing the old ones.
    Hope it helps.
    Please award points if it is useful.
    Thanks & Regards,

    I am using  function module " BAPI_WARRANTYCLAIM_ADD_VERSION ".
    It needs to copy all contents of previous version to a new version.
    While doing so i am unable to copy fields like valic valoc etc. Any ways by which  i can copy this values.

    Hi Vishnu,
    You can do that through EEWB. Please go through SAP Note 484597. You would get the details of using Easy Enhancement Work bench.

  • Uncommited transactions remain after Instance Recovery

    After Instance Recovery, the database seems to contain uncommitted transactions. Please provide an explanation for the following:
    create table t1
    as
    select *
    from all_objects;
    commit;
    create table t2
    as
    select *
    from all_objects;
    update t2
    set object_id = 1 where rownum = 1;
    shutdown abort;
    Neither table t2 nor the update to it were committed (right?), therefore, once the database starts up t2 should not be there. On the contrary, it is still there. In the Oracle Database Backup and Recovery Advanced Guide 10g Release 2, page 11-9, explains how the uncommitted transactions are removed (rolled back) in the Roll Backward step (transaction recovery) of the Instance recovery process.
    Any insight on this is highly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Size of a specific table on disk? Queries over multiple (2) tablespaces?

    I am looking for a way to find out (for Oracle 9.2.0.1.0).
    How much space does each or a specific table require on disk?
    (whether with indices or without is the other question).
    And how much "payload" data is in each or a specific table?
    Another question - of my team leader - is:
    Is it possible to make queries over multiple (2) tablespaces?
    I assume - no - am I right?
    Thank you for precise answers as well as links to other threads in this forum (where I did not find it until now),
    and chapters in online documentation - or other sources.
    PS: I know SQL, PL/SQL a bit.
    We have Oracle Enterprise Manager console and SQL*Plus console.

    >
    The table size can not be found in bytes precisely, but in number of blocks of a certain size allocated for this table (index etc.).
    select segment_type,segment_name, Sum(Bytes)/1024 as kB from DBA_EXTENTS
    where tablespace_name = 'xyz' group by segment_type,segment_name;
    There are more blocks allocated for a table than space is needed by the current data amount.
    I guess, that this table was once bigger and has been emptied a bit.
    >
    A table grows in extents that get filled then with new rows. The columns
    blocks and bytes of user_tables get populated from dba_stats.
    In below example, the table rows have filled up to MB_TABLE the extents:
    SQL> select table_name,blocks*8/1024 as mb from user_tables order by 1;
    TABLE_NAME                   MB_TABLE

    SEGMENT_NAME                 MB_SEGMENT
    CUSTOMERS                    12
    SALES                       285If you later on delete again from the tables, that does not deallocate extents nor remove the high water mark unless you reorganize the table:
    SQL> select count(*) from customers;
      COUNT(*)
         55500
    SQL> delete from customers where rownum<25000;
    24999 rows deleted.

  • Error while running query for a specific table

    Hi All,
    I need your help please.
    I've configured everything correctly in my SCCM environment. And i used to connect the CAS database from a separate box(same domain) which has SSMS console installed in it. Now the problem is, whenever i try to run a query in CAS database locally, it runs
    successfully. But when i connect the CAS database remotely and run the same query with the same login i used in CAS, it says the below error. This is happening from past 2 days only. :'(
    Query ran :
    select top 100 * from v_GS_WORKSTATION_STATUS
    Error :
    Msg 18456, Level 14, State 1, Line 1
    Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.
    OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI11" for linked server "abc.domain.com" returned message "Invalid connection string attribute".
    I checked the SQL connection authentication information it says authenticated by kerberos using below query :
    SELECT

    Hi JaySmiley,
    According to your description, you get the logon issue when connecting to CAS database remotely and execute query. Right?
    In this scenario, this error can happen when the SPN account is registered without setting 'trusted for delegation' property. Account must be trusted for delegation in order for Kerberos delegation to succeed. Here's a blog talking about your scenario, please

    Hi,
    Based on the description, I understand that you want to add subreport in the main report. When previewing the main report, the subreport can be shown in detail. Please see the screenshots on my test:
    In Reporting Services, we can create parameters and pass them from main report to subreport in order to control the data dynamically.
