Number range for transport request re-initiliazed

Hello,
We use CTS+ to manage non-abap system transport request (in our case : portal content request).
We just change the domain controller and now the new domain controller begin to generate the transport request number from 0 (the first ONE is SIDK900001). AS you can understand we want to continue the transport request with the immediate following number from the last transport request generated in the old doimain controller.
How can we achieve that ?
Is there a number range to change in the new domain controller or anything else to customize it ?
Thanks for your help.

Hello Mathias,
Honestly, I am not sure for non-abap transports.
For abap transport:
The number of the latest transport request is stored in field TRKORR
of table E070L. You can change this number using database tools.
Be aware that problems will occur if requests from another system with
the same <SID> are transported to this system, as they could have the
same range number.
Check also the following notes:.
106911 - Transport system: number range filled for requests
12799 - Old correction numbers reassigned after recovery
Hope this helps also in your situation.

Paul

• Number Range for Asset Class

Dear All,
We are going to develop a new asset class for the internal purpose. I can dvelop all the scenarios but my concern is how to do the number range?
Because, our system is already under live and now we are going to create the new asset class and new number range.
As I understand that for transporting the number ranges, we have to do manual tansport and assign the transport ID. In the taget system, first we have to delete the existing number range and import the transport.
But in our production server, already some number ranges are being used for existing asset class.
How should I do transport the new number range to the production server as already functioning?
Please also tell me what is the table name for Asset number ranges.
I request you to all, please give your values
Regards,
Ran

Dear Ranesh,
It is better to create the number range directly in the production system. The path for the creation of the number range is
SPRO > Financial Accounting (New) > Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) > Asset Accounting > Organizational Structures > Asset Classes > Define Number Range Interval
Assign points if useful
regards

Hi CIN experts............
In Development server I created 3 excise Groups (E2,E3 and E4), the same I was transported to Production.
J_1IRG23A1, J_1IRG23A2 object number ranges are Excise Group specific.
When I go to Tools - Number Ranges to maintain number range for J_1IRG23A1, J_1IRG23A2 objects I didn't find these excise groups.
Im able to see these Excise groups in Tools - Number ranges in Development server, but not in Production.

• Number Range for PO based on company code and document type

Dear All,
I've a requirement to assign a separate purchase order Number Range for a company code for the following document types.
ZNB Standard PO
ZRB Return PO
ZUB Stock transport ord.
ZLPA Scheduling agreement
ZLU Transp. sched. agmt.
(Number Ranges are different for each of the doc types mentioned above)
Is it something like I've to create 5 different Number Range objects and then provide the condition in the corresponding user exit , so that the appropriate document could pick its corresponding Number range.
Does anyone have any specific advice / experience on this , I am new to SAP and please advise me as how to go about this requirement. Thanks !!
Srinivas G.

Create the five different number ranges via configuration the configuration for PO. Usually a user exit is not needed. You've really posted in the wrong forum.
There is a lot of work involved in creating a different PO types. It is usually done in materials management.
If everything is done:
In spro go to materials management -> purchase order -> define number ranges.
Once they are defined they should work automatically or be entered manually depending on how your number range is set up.

• Define a number range for settlement documents

Hello,
We are getting below error while doing T-code AIBU asset settlement.
Define a number range for settlement documents
Message no. KD 522
Diagnosis
No number range for settlement documents defined in controlling area ACA2.
The settlement document is a document type in its own right, which is used for cancelling settlements and repeating month-end closes.
Procedure
Define a number range for settlement documents. Choose Maintain number ranges for settlement documents.
Thanks,
Ratnam

Hi......
Try to use the following T.code : SNUM,
1. Group -> Maintain and Group -> Insert
2. Give your number range a description.
3. Specify one interval for the number range. If you use up this range, you can add more intervals.
4. Select one or more of the controlling areas listed in the block "Not assigned".
5. Place the cursor on the number range to which you want to assign the selected controlling areas.
6. Use Assign element group to assign the controlling area(s) to the appropriate number range and save your entries.
Note that all intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.
Dependent tables are not transported or converted. Note that the appropriate application table is also transported for number range objects used for group maintenance.
And use :OKG6
I hope you will get some idea.

• Asking for transport request whie table data updation

Hi All,
I am trying to update a table TCJ04 using transaction OPS6. When ever I am adding a new entry or edit the existing entry and click SAVE, the table is asking for Transport request number.
This table carries a master data and should not be asking for transport request. Rather its access has to be controlled by user authorisation.
Please tell me as to what is the reason of asking for transport request.
regards,
Gaurav.

Hi Gourav,
If you go table maintanance generater of the table TCJ04 in SE11, you will find that Standard recording routine radio button is selected. That is the reason you are asked to provide transport request while updating data.

• External number range for SUSPO in SUS-MM

Hello there,
I'm running ECC 6.0 with SUS-MM 5.0 (SRM server 5.5). When transferring ECC purchase orders from ECC 6.0 to SUS-MM the resulting SUSPO is created using internal number assignment.
Thus I'm having an ECC purchase order 45xxxxxxxx referring to a SUSPO 30xxxxxxxx.
I do have an external number range of 45xxxxxxxx in SUS-MM.
Any suggestions/comments very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Franz

Hi ,
This is what i got from HELP
>
Define Number Ranges for Purchase Orders
Use
In this IMG activity, you specify the number ranges for purchase orders in SAP Supplier Self-Services (SAP SUS).
Only carry out this IMG activity if you create purchase orders locally in SAP SUS.
Activities
1. Choose Changes Intervals -> Insert Interval.
2. Specify at least one number range.
Note that you must enter the number ranges specified here when you edit the transaction types. For more information, see
Vorgangsarten festlegen.
3. If you set the External indicator, suppliers can enter their own numbers in SAP SUS. If you do not set the indicator, the system generates numbers automatically (internal number assignment).
Further notes
To export number range objects, go to the Maintain Number Ranges screen and choose Interval -> Transport.
Note that, before the target system imports the number range objects from the source system it deletes all of the intervals for the selected number range objects. This means that after the import, the target system only contain intervals that were exported from the source system.
You cannot transport or convert dependent tables.
>
so according to this , it should be possible to have external number , please check wether you have maintained customizing for SUS purchase order numbers at correct place.

Hi There,
It is asking for the transport request for each new entry in the table since the Delivery class in the attributes is set to C( Customizing table, maintenance only by cust., not SAP import ), If it is set to "A" it will not ask for the transport request..
Try creating a custom table and play around with the Delivery class, A and C, you will come to know the difference.

Appendix D: How to do Automatic Packing?
Appendix E: How to do Goods Movement for Handling Unit Material?
Appendix F: How to Unpack the Handling Unit Material?
A handling unit is a physical unit that consists of the packaging materials (load carrier / packaging material) and the goods contained therein. A handling unit is always a combination of materials and packaging materials. All the information contained in the material items, such as batches and serial numbers, is always available by way of the handling units.
Handling units can be nested, meaning that you can also create new handling units from several handling units as often as you like.
Handling units have unique, scannable identification numbers that can be formed according to standards such as EAN 128 or SSCC.
Figure 1: Handling unit example
Structure
The handling unit object contains the following attributes:
• Identification number
• Dimensions
• Weight
• Volume
• Status
• Materials and quantities
• Packaging materials
• Packing instructions
A handling unit consists of a handling unit header and handling unit items. For identification purposes, it is given a unique number.
Handling unit header
The header data of a handling unit is divided in the following way:
• Weight/Volume/Dimensions
• General data
• Means-of-transport data
• Additional data
• Output determination procedure
For more information about each of these detailed points, see Editing detailed data for handling units.
Status
The handling unit is linked to general status management. In this way, the various physical states (planned or implemented) and other attributes (weighed, loaded, blocked or posted goods issue) of handling units can be documented.
You can use the HU_ST_INIT user parameter when you create handling units without object reference to set which initial status the handling unit is to have when it is created.
If you want to implement a status of your own, you can define a user-specific procedure for the packaging material type (see also Define Packaging Material Types).
Handling unit item
The items of a handling unit can consist of material items, packaging materials or other handling units that appear in an overview. For more information about this overview, see the Contents section of Editing detailed data for handling units.
To access the item data of an individual handling unit, select the handling unit concerned and choose Goto  Detailed HU data  Contents.
Integration
Handling units can be used in all processes within the supply chain.

• Number range for Workflow in SWU3

Hi,
The workflow numbers are client independent and will work for other client as well, the why we need to maintain number range for all other client(so may be for customer task which is client dependent).
And when will go for customer task? I am not clear on this number range definition.
Regards,
Vadamalai A

You don't need to maintain number range for all other clients. I normally maintain the number range for only the client(s) where I am developing. It just means that when you create new workflow templates or tasks (or workflow rules or whatever WF object), they will get the number from this number range. If you would develop in two different systems/clients, then it is necessary to have different number ranges so that you don't "overwrite" any objects if you happen to transport them into a same system.
Kind regards,
Karri

• How can I setup different number range for each company code?

Dear GURU,
Is it possible to setup different number range for material document by company code? If yes, what should i do.
Thank you in advance.
Thammarit

Hi,
you maintain the number assignment for the following documents:
material documents
physical inventory documents
The number assignment for these documents is not to be confused with the number assignment for accounting documents . The number assignment for accounting documents depends on the document type which is allocated to the transaction.
The number assignment for material documents and physical inventory documents depends on the transaction/event type which is also allocated to each transaction in Inventory Management. The transaction/event types are divided into groups of number ranges. A number range interval has to be defined for each group.
You cannot change the transaction/event types. However, you can change the number range intervals or you can allocate transaction/event types to new groups.
Caution: Change in the Fiscal Year
If, at the time of a fiscal year change, you reset the number range in the new fiscal year, separate number range intervals for the previous year and for the current year must be maintained for one month to allow postings to the prior period.
Example:
Interval for 1995: 4900000000 to 4999999999 status: 4900451234
Interval for 1996: 4900000000 to 4999999999 status: 4900000000
If only one number range interval exists for both years and you make any postings to the previous period, the system will assign numbers that already exist in the previous year. This would lead to an update termination.
In the standard system, the transaction/event types and number range intervals are preset for Inventory Management as follows:
Physical inventory documents
Number range interval from 0100000000 to 0199999999
This group contains the following transaction/event types:
- IB Physical inventory documents
- ID Physical inventory documents for counts and differences
without reference
- IN Physical inventory documents for recounts
- IZ Physical inventory documents for count without reference
- WV Physical inventory documents for difference postings in the WM System
Material documents for goods movements and inventory differences
Number range interval from 4900000000 to 4999999999
This group contains the following transaction/event types:
- WA Goods issues, transfer postings, other goods receipts
- WH Goods movements for handling units (HU)
- WI Material documents for inventory adjustment postings
- WL Goods issues for delivery documents (SD)
- WQ Goods movements for usage decisions (QM)
- WR Goods movements for completion confirmations (PP)
- WS Goods movements for run schedule headers (PP)
- WZ Documents for batch status changes
Material documents for goods receipts
Number range interval from 5000000000 to 5999999999
This group contains the following transaction/event types:
- WE Goods receipts for purchase orders
- WF Goods receipts for production orders
- WO Subsequent adjustment of subcontract orders
- WW Subsequent adjustment of active ingredient materials
Inventory sampling numbers
Number range interval from 0200000000 to 0299999999
This group contains the transaction/event type SI.
SAP recommends that you accept the settings defined in the standard system. In this case, no action is required on your part.
Note
For performance reasons, 10 document numbers are buffered on the application server. In this way, gaps in number assignment can occur.
Actions
Check whether you can use the predefined groups and number intervals.
If you want to change any groups, proceed as follows:
a) Choose Group -> Maintain.
b) Select the transaction/event type that you want to re-allocate.
c) Place the cursor on the new group and choose Edit -> Assign element group).
d) Save your settings.
If you want to define new groups, proceed as follows:
a) Select Group -> Maintain.
b) Then select Group -> Insert.
c) Enter a text for the number range group.
d) Maintain the number interval for this number range group.
e) Allocate the transaction/event types to the number range groups (see step 2).
If you want to maintain new number range intervals for an existing group, proceed as follows:
a) Choose Group -> Maintain.
b) Select a group and choose Interval -> Maintain.
c) Choose Edit -> Insert year.
d) Maintain the number interval for the new fiscal year.
If you do not want to use the year-related number assignment method, enter 9999 in the field Year.
Note on transport
You transport number range objects as follows:
In the initial screen, choose Interval -> Transport.
Note that all intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.
Dependent tables are not transported or converted.
Thanks and regards

• Internal HU number range for 2 different plants

Hi,
I have one plant with WM-HUM and internal number range for HU is 1.
Now implementation for a second plant (same controling area but different company codes), with his own WH number, is going to use WM-HUM.
I'm wondering what internal number range should be used for plant 2:
- same number range than P1 then no need to create new packaging material types. Just check if both plants accept to share numbers
- different number range to fastly identify which plant belongs to the HU number (without using HUMO)? But need to create new packaging material types.
Are there other SAP impacts of these solutions?
I have to precise there will be stock transport orders with deliveries between both plants.
Thank you.

Hello Cathy,
I would suggest to use the same number range considering the scenario you have mentioned .
Cheers
