NUMC characteristic with a range + offset restriction

Wondering if someone knows a way to fix this:
I built a report that has a characteristic that contains the numerical difference between two dates. then I setup columns that filter a range 0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20. Up to now everything works fine.
Now, a last requirement is implemented which breaks the whole thing:
They must be able to specify a grace period to this range of dates. So what I did is I setup a variable on this characteristic and setup my ranges as shown below:
(the + are set as offsets to teh variable)
0-5 grace to grace+5
6-10 grace6 to grace10
and so forth.
If I run this report with the variable containing 0 (actually #), it works fine. But the moment I try to change this vaue I get:
Message: Moved value is not within the allowed value range
Diagnosis
You wish to move the value of a variable. The result is consequently no longer in the permitted value range.

Anyone has a clue how to get around this? The only thing I found so far would be to apply the grace period to a report filter like >grace. This way though my column ranges wouldn't be dynamic and if someone chose a grace of 5, the 0-5 column would be empty and so on... Not the perfect solution... Anyone has something better? (I always give proper points).

This was a code 18 error...
In case you wonder:
One of my ranges (the >20) actually contained
Grace21 to Grace999
So the moment grace>=1 my value became >1000 which is bigger than the characteristic which is 3 characters...

Restrict Characteristic on value range in Query Designer

Hi,
In 3.5, it was possible to restrict a filter in the query designer on a value range, even if the start- and end values of that range did not exist in the master data.
In 2004s, it is possible to restrict single value filters to a non-existing masterdata value. However, for value ranges, this does not seem to be the case. Do you know any workaround for this?

1. Between
2. Greater than or equal to
3. Less than or equal to
4. Greater than
5. Less than

CS6 Mixing Down Sesx With Marker Ranges Past The Last Clip

This does have a little to do with a previous thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4440234), but is specific enough to not add to that thread.
I just noticed some strange behaviour (and erroring) in CS6.
I have a sesx with 5 minute marker ranges from 00:00:00 to 02:30:00 (30 marker ranges).
Let's say a clip (or group of clips) is only 01:05:23.
If you do Mixdown To New File - Entire Session, the resultant mixdown will be 01:05:23 (as you would expect), but it will have all 30 marker ranges (extending past the end of the timeline).
If you select marker ranges 1-14 (14 is where 01:05:23 falls within) and export selected markers to files, you will get a 23 second file as the 14th file.
On the other hand, if you include marker 15 in the selection (or select all, for that matter), you will get an error for every range that it tries to export that doesn't have audio.
If you do a time selection, in multitrack, and Mixdown To New File - Time Selection, the extra marker ranges do not get included in the mixdown.

A bit of background as to why we are using the session this way...
We use Audition, mostly, for editing sermons preached at our church that are to be produced for cd.
The audio is recorded in as a mono file (directly from the microphone channel), is edited in mono, and stored in mono (stereo takes twice the hard drive space and is an unnecessary conversion for a mono signal).
These sermons are, generally, parts of a series that will be available as a series (as opposed to individual sermons).
Once all the individual parts of the series are edited, they are imported into a session for that series (based on the afore-mentioned template with 30 marker ranges).
Part 1 is track 1, part 2 is track 2, etc... (all sermons start at 00:00:00).
In this fashion, it's easy to see which sermons are longer than 01:19:58 (IE...go to 2 cds) and we can use volume envelopes for the fade out of cd1, fade in of cd2, and whatever we want to overlap between the 2 cds.
Track 1 might be 01:26:32, track 4 might be 00:48:22, track 13 might be 01:15:01, etc... (02:30:00 was chosen as the ending time as we've had 2 sermons longer than 02:20:00 but none longer than 02:30:00).
In AA1.0 and AA1.5, there was a simple option to right-click on a clip and Mixdown To New File - Selected Clip that was removed in AA2.0 (I think) and hasn't made its way back since (I plan to submit a feature request for this).
The biggest reason why we use multitrack for this is that the mixdown will automatically convert the mono file to stereo and transfer the marker ranges from multitrack to the resultant mixdown.
Yes, we could just manually convert the mono file to stereo and add marker ranges.
That is a lot of unnecessary work, though, when it happens in the mixdown.
AA1.0 and AA1.5 worked perfectly, for this function, as it had the ability to mixdown selected clips.
The resultant mixdown would be an exact duplicate of the clip, in stereo, and with marker ranges that were correct.
There may be some different functionality that hasn't been explored, but what I have found is we simply have to do more work to get the same result.

Thanks. I don't see any error message, but I do find Audition locks up when attempting to export Marker ranges that don't have audio data associated with them. I'll write a bug and get it assigned this morning. While out-of-bounds markers are perfectly legitimate and have valid use cases, Audition should handle them more gracefully when asked to perform certain tasks.

Sure, the function you're looking for is in the ANALYSIS panel under the "CUrve Fitting" palette-- it's called "Linear Mapping". You will need to create the desired X channel prior to calling this function, though, so you will probably need to use the ANALYIS function "Generate Numeric Channel" in the "Channel Functions" palette.

Dimention values with date range

Hi All
We have a requirement to have dimensions which have date ranges like
today's
yesterdays
last week
last month etc
When tried to add dimension I can see only string integer and float values
Do anybody knows how to add Date with the range??

The solution we've worked with in the past is to convert the dates to YYYYMMDD and store in the index as Integer values. Thus you can use range filters by converting any incoming values to the same format. Your interface layer will have to written to accommodate those mappings.

MDX Filter with date range

I tried your code, it works but the results are not correct. As per manual calculations, there are 28 unique customers who has positive sales on Week to date (2014-11-03), but result shows only 19.
For the first day of week (2014-11-01), there are 9 unique customers, which is correct. But for the following days it is not giving correct result.
Further, performance of this approach is very poor

IN: int a, int b; OUT:Vector filled with numbers ranging from a to b

Hello,
is there any method to fill in a vector with numbers ranging from a value "a" to value "b"? Of course it can be done using a for-loop, but I was wondering if there is not a simpler way to do it. Thanks for your advices.

I am configuring ip access-list policy with port range on Nexus1000v. I want to block traffic of a VM based on specific port or port range. Following is the example showing, blocking of rdp service (port - 3389) of vm x.x.x.x. But the scipt blocks all traffic of x.x.x.x.
Can any body verify the scirpt and tell whats the problem with the script?

Help.....Creating ACL with time-range

Hello Everybody,
I have Cisco AP 1200 router....I have to block all wi-fi traffice from 9:00 morning to 3:30 evening so i created an Extended access-list with time-range 09:00 to 15:00 & implemented on dot11radio0 but it did not work........
I created the access-list as follows.......
#ip access-list 101 deny tcp any any www established log time range XYZ{name of time range}
can any one tell me what is the problem here & how to create the accesslist which blocks wi-fi traffic for certain time of period.

Process message characteristic with more then ( ) 30 digits in PI-sheet

Dear all,
I am looking for a solution to populate a process message characteristic with more then 30 digits in the PI
sheet and not during control recipe generation.
I have defined a customer characteristic (with O27C) in the `Additional data for Process Instructions
and Messages` with a length of 40 Characters. Next to that in my process message i added a function
to retrieve the material master text (40 digits) and to put it into the customer characteristic as an output.
However in this set-up I get an sytax error that blocks the generation of the control recipe. The syntax
erro is due to the fact that the long text characteristic should have a value. Obviously it does not,
because I want to retrieve it from the material description. Note that the material number I use to retrieve
the text, is selected in the PI sheet itself an is unknown (unplanned Issue) at generation.
Please advise.

I have reloaded the cube and maintained Index, checked DB Stat, Roll up , compression all are done, but still facing the same issues.

Query variable for characteristic with texts

Hello experts,
I need some help on the following issue:
I want to do master data reporting on a characteristic of type numc that has texts.
I need to filter on a certain text range of the characteristic by using a variable, e.g. select all records between E* and F*.
The problem is that I can only access the numeric ranges of the characteristics and not the texts directly.
Any ideas?
