OAS 4.0.8.1 & UPLOADING
I want to upload images/files and store them into the database or into the Server's File System for future downloads.
I do know that OAS 4.0 lets you upload images and other files into your database(Using PLSQL toolkit).
Please, If anyone knows something I would like to reply to me and give me some guidelines.
(I am really dissapointed with the instructions of ORACLE's manuals)
i also has same problem. seems it is very easy in ORACLE OAS document. I follow it but it doesn't work. Help!

Uploading file using OAS 4.0.8.1
I am trying to upload files with an application using OAS 4.0.8.1 in
linux (kernel 2.2.14). I am sure that all the environment are
correct installed and my application wait forever.
I'm using PL/SQL catrige.
My database doesn't have any invalid objects.
If somebody can help me, please.
Thank you !
nullSome weeks ago I wanted to get to work it too. Without any success. It seems that file is going to server because of high traffic but I could not find any storage changes in the server even uploading large files. So I came to solution to use a PERL cgi script which stores file on the server filesystem and then passes filename and other attributes to a plsql procedure to save file attributes in tables. If you are interested in this script mail directly ([email protected]) or search for an example in http://cgi.resourceindex.com/

Thank you !David,
Thanks for the reply. I neglected to mention that file upload do work on the server, it's just the Zend FW implementation that doesn't. The Zend FW is basically what is in your book, and nothing happens when I try an upload, but I know that the code is talking to the FW (e.g., if I provide an invalid path, I get the appropraite PHP error). If I don't use the FW it works. So the following code correctly uploads a file on the hosting platform:
if ($_POST['send']) {
//validate the user input
$val = new Zend_Validate_Alnum(TRUE);
if (!$val->isValid($_POST['name'])) {
$errors['name'] = 'Name is required';
$val = new Zend_Validate_EmailAddress();
if (!$val->isValid($_POST['email'])) {
$errors['email'] = 'Email address is required';
$val = new Zend_Validate_StringLength(10);
if (!$val->isValid($_POST['message'])) {
$errors['message'] = 'Required';
if (!$errors) {
foreach($_FILES as $temp_name => $file_array) {
$file_name = str_replace(" ","_",$file_array["name"]);
if (is_uploaded_file($file_array["tmp_name"])) {
move_uploaded_file($file_array["tmp_name"], "$file_dir/".$file_name) or die ("Couldn't copy");
$new_names[] = $file_name;
//start building the mail string
$msg = "Name:\n\t\t".$_POST["name"]."\n";
$msg .= "E-Mail:\n\t\t".$_POST["email"]."\n";
$msg .= "Message:\n\t\t".$_POST["message"]."\n";
foreach ($new_names as $name) {
if ($name != "") {
$msg .= "Link: xxx/uploads/$name"."\n\n";
Using this code I wil email that contains links to the uploaded files, which I can then sucessfully download. So it's the FW code that fails... and note that the Zend validation code above does work correctly; I get errors if invalid entries are made.
Also, I note that my hosting providers only support PHP 5.2.14, whereas on my XAMPP installation I'm using 5.3 Could that be an issue? -
Image upload failed after deploy to OAS
Hi, I've made an application to upload image to database with OrdImage type using adf:inputrender (adf library)
When I access that page via web browser, I got an JBO-26041 that says "no such file or directory".
I think this is because the application read the directory from OAS, not from my local computer... Is there any solution for this problem?
Should I set some settings in my web.xml file before I make the deployment profile?Hi,
I don't have much information to go on here. But did you try the example for adf upload in:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/training/products/intermedia/index.html
Did you make your upload multipart/fom-data? Is your problem in Jdeveloper, or does it work correctly in jdeveloper?
In upload, there are two pages involved. The upload form page, and the http post location. Is it that you cannot see the upload form? Or, when you do the upload is that when you get an error?

Today we are using an Appserver with HTTP mod_plsql, the code for the form looks like:
htp.formopen (
curl => 'FileUpload',
cmethod => 'POST',

the "FileUpload" takes care of the file and inserts it in the dbThe question is how does it do it? A file upload via mod_plsql/EPG is done via the PLSQL document table. It, mod_plsql/EPG, takes cares of the actual upload part - reading the Mime stream of the upload from the browser and inserting it into the document table.
Unfortunately, seems that the 11g documentation lacks details in this regard. Please consult the Oracle® HTTP Server mod_plsql User's Guide (10g).
<li>section 1.7.1 describes the format of the upload table you need to define
<li>section 1.7.4 shows a sample HTML form doing a HTTP post, and the post-process upload PL/SQL procedure that needs to be written to process the contents of the row just created for the uploaded file in the document table -
Questions about OAS Portal Forms to upload files
Hello,
I have quetions, about uploading files, see I need to creat a form that will be used by other people to upload information that later will be presented as downloads in the portal...
so I created a form in my provider with a file (binary) field, and it mimes to my table in the DB, to the field "Archivo", then what I do is use a omniportlet and using HTML format I present like a link using the info in the field Archivo
and when I clic on it it takes me to this link
http://desarrollo06:7778/pls/portal/38173.PDF
but the file I uploaded does not appear
can aniyone help me to solve this?
thanks in advances for the suggestions and your time ^_^The method you used to setup upload of file seems fine. I suppose you would have used a blob type to save the file in your db table.
basically, you can develop a report offering a link calling perhaps a procedure which would query from the table and download the file.
In that procedure, you would look for the file (vblob) and the mime_type from that table using a sql-query. then use them to setup the mime type for the http protocol, and download the file as follows.
owa_util.mime_header(mime_type);
owa_util.http_header_close;
wpg_docload.Download_File(vblob);
hope that helps!

1. Stopped OAS
2. Install ADF Installer 10.1.3.5 by extracting files, changing adfinstaller.properties, and running java -jar runinstaller.jar adfinstaller.properties

<import-shared-library name="oracle.ws.jaxrpc"/>
5. datatags directory was malformed in the sense META-INF/application.xml and other .xml file was not created at all.
6. Since ADF requires only libraries to be available, I removed this 2 enteries and started up the OAS.
7. Started the OAS

1. Stop the DBConsole. (set ORACLE_SID first & ORACLE_HOME)
cd %ORACLE_HOME%\bin
emctl stop dbconsole
2. Update the <ORACLE_HOME>/<hostname_sid>/sysman/config/emd.properties file.
Change line from:
tracelevel.main=WARN
To
tracelevel.main=DEBUG
Decomment this line, so that the line becomes :
EMAGENT_PERL_TRACE_LEVEL=DEBUG
3. Update the <ORACLE__HOME>/<hostname_sid>/sysman/config/emomslogging.properties
Change line from:
log4j.rootCategory=WARN, emlogAppender, emtrcAppender
To
log4j.rootCategory=DEBUG, emlogAppender, emtrcAppender
4. Remove/backup all log files from ORACLE_HOME/<hostname_sid>/sysman/log
5. Start the dbconsole and upload the output of each command
- start the dbconsole: "emctl start dbconsole"
- issue "emctl clearstate"
- status the dbconsole: "emctl status dbconsole"
- check the status of the agent until it comes up: "emctl status agent"
- force an upload: emctl upload
6. Check If you are able to view the dbconsole Page & login
check below logs may be you can see the close error messages to solve the issue.
<ORACLE_HOME>/<hostname_sid>/sysman/log directory
<ORACLE_HOME>/<hostname_sid>/sysman/config/emoms.properties
Otherwise re-create the DBconsole using the metalink doc 278100.1 : How To Drop, Create And Recreate DB Control In A 10g Database. (Please check the steps from Recreate/ReConfig DB Control, if you want to re-create)

NoClassDefFoundError ClientDataSupport when uploading OrdImage IAS 10.1.2
Hello,
I'm trying to upload ordimage into db (10g) using ADF. In JDev 10.1.3 with embedded OC4J it works fine. After deploying to IAS 10.1.2 I got the following error: javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdbc/driver/ClientDataSupport. I've read that there was bugfix in IAS 10.1.2 which was related to ClientDataSupport. Can anybody help?
thxThanks for the reply Avi,
OAS 10.1.2 supports ADF with some limitations but we haven't had any major problem so far because of the version difference. Moreover displaying OrdImage is working fine. The problem is when we try to upload ordimage objects.
We have a simple bypass solution for the problem. We call a stored procedure with a blob parameter in JDBC. This stored procedure creates the ordimage object and inserts it to the db.
m_ordimage := ordsys.ordimage( ordsys.ordsource(p_blob, null, null, null, sysdate, 1 ),null, null, null, null, null, null, null );

Depoly to OAS 10.1.2.0.2

I was wondering if someone has successfully deployed an ADF Faces app developed in jdev 1013 into OAS 10.1.2.0.2 with file upload into a ordDoc column type?
I can't seem to make it work when I try to upload, when I try to commit the upload, it raises a very odd error:

I found this class only in the classes111.jar file that has been depreceated!!!
Any help would be appreciated
