OBIEE 11.1.1.6.7 export to excel - cells not suppressing

When exporting a table to Excel, cells are repeating in the excel report, despite the fact that these columns are set to "Suppress" in Column Format.
The values are suppressed in the table on the dashboard, the values are suppressed when we export to PDF, but when we export to Excel suppression is not working.
We have another report where suppression is working fine when exporting to excel so it does not seem to be due to which excel version we are using.
The suppression in excel worked fine in 10g for this report, and when we migrated to 11g, that is when it stopped working.
When comparing the two different reports, we can't find any difference in properties that could affect the suppression.
Any ideas on what we can do to fix this?
Best Regards
Joel

  • "Export to Excel" does not work for query based on Master Data InfoSet

    We have many queries based on InfoSet consisting 2 or more PS Master Data. After we upgraded from BW 3.1 to 3.5, the "Export To Excel" function no longer works via BEx Browser. It returns all blanks where master data should be shown. Only the non-data area like column headings are exported to excel.
    Is this a bug introduced in BW 3.5?
    Thanks,
    Kinuko

    It seems that BW 3.5 SP10 may fix this problem.

  • RDL reports(2008).File name after using Export to Excel is not comming properly in mozilla firefox.

    I am using Export to Excel functionality in rdl report.
    File name should be "Profitabilty By Buyer". It is working as expected in IE and chrome.
    But in mozilla firefox the file name appears as "Profitabilty".
    So the issue is it doesnt consider anything after space and user requirement is such that I cant put underscore("_") also instead of space.
    Kindly suggest the proper solution.

    Hi Mukesh,
    Reporting Services, we use a Web browser to view the report that deploy to Report Service. However, not all report functionally is supported by all browsers. Such as, the print button is not supported in Mozilla Firefox. It works only in Internet Explorer
    due to it uses ActiveX for the print button.
    I have tested it on my local environment, (SQL Server Reporting Services 2008, Firefox 28.0), we cannot reproduce this issue. So the issue can be the custom setting of your browser. Since SSRS reports are not about targeting NON-IE browsers, so in your scenario,
    we recommend you use IE to view report on Report Manager.
    And you said that you cannot put underscore ("_") also instead of space. However we can do this which you can see on the screenshot below.

  • Export to Excel is not working for List View Web Part after filtering using Query String parameters in SharePoint 2010

    Hi,
    I am filtering SharePoint list view web part based on Query string parameter and I am doing Export to Excel by using following code.
    <a href="#" onclick="javascript:window.location='../_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List=0DC67399-BE11-48F3-ADFC-E911FB8B5845&View=54671412-3EFE-4281-835A-9EF747AE774E&CacheControl=1'"><img
    alt="Excel" src="/_layouts/images/icxlsx.gif" border="0"/>&nbsp;Export to Excel</a>
    Issue: Able to do Export to Excel when there are no filters applied on list view web part but if applied filters on web part and do export to excel , only header fields are displaying in the excel sheet.
    I don't know why owssvr.dll is behaving like that .
    Please share your ideas.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create hyperlink to export to excel.
    The URL to execute the export is as follows:
    {Site URL}/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List={List GUID}&View={View GUID}&CacheControl=1
    After getting the GUID, you  need to “decode” the list GUID.
    Replace %7B with {
    Replace %2D with –
    Replace %7D with }

  • Export to Excel will not produce more than 2000 rows

    I am trying to export a sharepoint list to excel that has around 8000 items in it, however when it does...i'm only able to see 2000 entries and the other 6000 are missing.
    I'm working with SharePoint 2013 Enterprise and Excel 2013.
    Would anyone have some help to offer me on why this is no producting all of the entries in the list?

    Hi Jacob,
    According to your description, my understanding is that only 2000 items can be exported to excel in SharePoint list.
    I recommend to check if there are any indexed columns(which are enforced to have unique values) in the list.
    If yes, please remove the indexes from the columns in the list to see if the issue still occurs.
    For test, please export another large list to see if the issue still occurs.
    Thanks,

    Very strange, as I know there is no ü allowed. There should be used only ASCII.
    And if there is a ü, this should translated, e.g. with base64 encoding or sth. like that.

  • Export to excel error - NOT windows 2003 server

    hello everyone, I'm facing this kind of prblem: exporting to excel gives an error. no error when exporting in pdf or rtf. I read a number of threads on the matter: a hotfix was released to solve the problem on windows2003 server, which is not the case here. The used system is winxp sp3. I've also read that goig back to a sp2 might solve the problem, but that's certainly not an option. Anybody has any idea?
    using:
    windows xp sp3
    .net framework 2
    crystal report XI (not embedded)
    visual c# 2005
    thanks in advance

    With .NET 2005, you have to move on to CR XI r2 (11.5). No sense continuing with CR 11.0. As you already have CR 11.0, you can download CR XI r2 for free from here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006008462008E/crxir2.zip
    Uninstall CR 11.0 before installing CR 11.5. Use your CR 11.0 keycode when installing CR 11.5.
    Once you have CR 11.5 installed, check the version. I want you to be at 11.5.1838 (I am not sure of the exact SP that is in the download). If you are at a lower version, apply SP 6 from here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100015859952009E/crxir2win_sp6.exe
    The references in you r.NET project should be 11.5.3700.0. See how things go in your app once you are at CR 11.5.
    As an FYI.; Sp 6 runtime;

  • Export to Excel codes not working as expected

    Hello,
    I am using the code below to export data from a query to
    Excel.
    The fields of the query are as such : D,B,C,A, but when am
    using the code below to export it, the order of the columns is in
    alphabetical order (A,B,C,D), which I don't want.
    Can you please tell me how to modify the code below so that I
    get the columns in the order that it is in the query.
    Anyone to help me pls.
    thx
    (See4 my code below )
    <cfinvoke component="#variables.componentPath#"
    method="getOrds" returnvariable="qgetOrds">
    <cfinvokeargument name="mydate" value="#mydate#">
    </cfinvoke>
    <CFCONTENT TYPE="application/vnd.ms-excel">
    <cfheader name="Content-Disposition"
    value="filename=report.xls">
    <cfquery name="exportdata" dbtype="query">
    SELECT D,B,C,A
    FROM qgetOrds
    </cfquery>
    <table border="1" bordercolor=""#009966"">
    <cfoutput>
    <tr>
    <cfloop list="#exportdata.columnlist#"
    index="TDFIELD">
    <td>#TDFIELD#</td>
    </cfloop>
    </tr>
    </cfoutput>
    </table>

    Now you're talking about the internal bits that make Excel
    behave the way it does. There is an entire section in MSDN (
    http://msdn.microsoft.com)
    devoted to Office XML, which is what you'd have to use to serve up
    a fully-functioning XLS file.
    You can find an example on this site. The Google Groups
    address is
    http://groups.google.com/group/macromedia.coldfusion.advanced_techniques/browse_thread/thr ead/71abd01da20e186a/f192971168deae79?lnk=st&q=CFCONTENT+Excel+cell+format&rnum=2&hl=en#f1 92971168deae79

  • OBIEE 11.1.1.6.6 Exporting to Excel

    Hi All,
    Just noticed that when you are exporting a report into excel in 11g, there is a blank column where the rows end and measures begin. To explain in detail, in the pivot view if I have column1, column2, and in the measures I have column3, and export this into excel, I have four columns in excel. A,B,C(blank),D.  This is not how it worked in 10g.
    Has anyone ran into this issue? Is there a resolution/workaround for this?
    Thanks.

    OBIEE Excel data type is not XLS (even the file extension is), but is actually an MHTML file with XLS extension.
    Mac Office doesn't read MHTML correctly, as Windows versions of Office that can read MHTML. This was a decision made by Microsoft. So, for this OBIEE is working as expected.
    There is an Enhancement Request logged, Bug 12652014 - ABILITY TO EXPORT REPORTS TO EXCEL 2007 (XLSX FILE FORMAT). The ER go through a review process where development deems the feasibility of including this in a future OBIEE release.
    This particular enhancement will actually be included in 11.1.2.0.0.
    As a workaround you can export in CSV and open those files in Mac Office Excel.
    Mark if helps,
    Thanks,

    not preserved when we copy to another excel sheet.I tried resetting the "preserve visual appearance of workbook" to the
    exported excel sheet, but this didnot work.I am using excel 2007.
    Can anyone tell me how to preserve the excel formatting for WAD template.
    Thanks,
    Harsha

    Hi Roy
    Have you got the report set to bring back a specific number of rows at a time (ie retrieve data incrementally in sets of : setting in options)?
    If so set this to a larger number of rows, Discoverer will then return all data when the reports is run and will export all data to the spreadsheet.
    Hope this helps
