OBIEE report filter and delivery ibots

Hi All,
One of my reports (with 20 cols) consists of multiple rows with repeated customer names (about 100 distinct customer names and approx total 5000 rows). We wanted to automatically filter out the report on customer names and send the filtered reports to the respective customers. So these 100 customers will receive their own 50 rows. We were wondering how we should go about doing this. We thought of maybe using a) iBots or b) GO URL with dummy dashboard. I was wondering if anyone has experience tackling this issue and what will be the high level design steps that will be required.

You must filter the data directly in the RPD.
1)
Create a session variable that contains the name (or ID or whatever) of the customer.
If the name of the customer is the login he will use to connect to OBIEE, you can use :USER.
Example 1 : suppose you have a table that contains list of customer with their name and their login.
Select name from customer where login = ':USER'
That is your initialization block that will populate your "customerVAR" session variable.
Example 2 : you don't have such a table, but customer name = customer obiee login
go directly to point 2

Filter the table with this variable.
Example 1 :
+"table.customer = valueof(NQ_SESSION.customerVAR)"+
Example 2 :
+"table.customer = ':USER'+
3)
As a result, when a customer will connect to OBIEE and display the report, the data will be filtered. He will see only data that he's authorized to see.
When you will create your iBot, this filter will be used depending on the destinary (= the customer).

    I have a column formula in an OBIEE Analysis that queries data based on a specific File Date:  31-Oct-2013.   the formula looks like this: SUM(CASE WHEN "CLOV - File Date"."File Date" = '31-OCT-2013' AND "Pending Claim - Process Time"."Claim Date" <= TIMESTAMP '2013-01-31 00:00:00' THEN 1 ELSE 0 END)
    The issue is I have other columns that need to query data as of the most recent File Date available.  For that, I usually use this in the report filter section:  SELECT MAX("CLOV - File Date"."File Date") FROM "VETSNET OPERATIONS REPORTS".   this will pull the most recent date available.
    What formula(s) do I need to use so I can have other columns pull the most recent data while the other column always uses the 31-Oct-2013 date?

    If you like to port the same logic in Analysis then that might be easy to do.
    Not sure how to handle other column ie Claim without looking data, but try with a new metric max(File Date) and set the content level may be Year or as per requirement and use that column in the same expression

    I am using OBIEE 11g,
    I am trying to use a filter which is based on the result from another analysis. I have an analysis A which is as table 1, and I want to filter the respective columns of analysis B (Table B) based on analysis A to remove the duplicates for march 01, 02, and 07 , but it is not working properly. I took a max of start and end time when I created analysis A. Please let me know if I did anything wrong. thanks.

    Why avg here?
    What columns you want to show in the report?
    for a employee for given date if he have 2 rows then you may sum up hours right?

  • BOE XI 3.1: Problem with Simple Report Filter.

    Hi everyone!.
    One requirement that i have in one customer is about the use of simple reports filters, the customer doesn't want to use the input controls.
    If i add one simple report filter and save the report, the final user can add other simple report filters, but the problem is that the name "Others" appears with all the variables than i have created to be used in the report.
    Is it possible to hide the group "Others"?

    If I understood you clearly, I think you have few variables created and one set of variable is called Others and you dont want users to see it.
    There are couple of things you can do.
    First one is to Use Othere filters as constant and it will not appear.
    Second you can use others filter at Report level and it will not prompt to users.

    If I give an 'Or' between two prompts in the report filter, as below:-
    Value Date is prompted
    OR Trade Date is prompted
    ... then the condition does not apply on the report.
    I am using dashboard prompts
    OBI version is 10.1.3.4.1
    Is there a way around this?

    Hi,
    If I hard code in the report filter and use or between the conditions then it works fine.
    The prompted filters are not working with 'Or' in between.
    It looks like a bug. Can something be done about it?
    Using a presenation variable should work, but it will have some other limitations.

    Would like to know if it's possible apply report filter when using the web serivce ? Read from Oracle doc that there's this applyReportParams() method in ReportEditingService that could do the job. Can anyone confirm this ?
    Currently we've tried to access the report using the WebCatalogService, read the xml and retrieve the result using the XMLViewService successfully. However there's an additional requirement to pass in the report filter on the fly.

    I have a question regarding the OBIEE Web Services,
    We are using C # for Automation code to test Obiee Analysis Web Services,while designing filter in C # to call report we are facing difficulty with Presentation Variable using Variable value. Where as it is working fine for Column value.
    Note: The choice list has 2 custom values.
    So please guide me in this regard.

  • QSUF (Query string url filter) and SQL Server reporting services report viewer parameters

    Hi,
    this is my issue:
    I have a SQL Server reporting services web part on a page with a report with 1 parameter, lets say it's a client list
    Then i have a QSUF that will be used to filter the clients list through the URL
    However, once i connect the filter and the report viewer web part, the parameter goes away and is no longer accessible
    I'd like to somehow keep the parameter visible, in case there is no parameter sent through the URL, i would like the user to be able to choose a client from the parameter drop down list
    I saw that there is a "send empty if no values are passed" option, but i can't seem to get this working properly and i don't know if this option will make the parameter visible again
    Any help would be appreciated

    According to your post, my understanding is that the query string url filter web part not worked well with SQL server reproting services web part.
    Did you use the Wiki page layout in your environment?
    You can change the page to a web part page, then check whether it work.

  • Crystal Report for Sales, Delivery and Payment.

    Hi Guys,
    Need some expert advice over here. Currently, our sales team are using 3 separate report, one report on sales per month for each specific customers, one report on delivered amount per month for specific customers again and the last one report on payment received per month for specific customers as well.
    We have the idea of joining this 3 report so that I can report on sales, delivery and payment all at once so that they can see the trend better. However, after trying for quite a few times, we fail to create a common joining between ORDR, ODLN and ORCT. Is there any possible way to work something out ?
    I have thought of using subreport, but I just cant find the way to plug in the figure correctly.
    Need some advice over there.

    Based on what you have told me, then you should then join Sales Order, Delivery, Invoice and Incoming Payments into one.
    The reason I say Invoice table also is because, you cannot directly link Delivery and Incoming Payments window.
    Also you it is not enough that you link the ORDR, ODLN and ORCT, you will need to get the details from RDR1 and DLN1.
    In SAP Business One, each line in SAP Business One can have a different Delivery documnet.
    The TrgetEntry, TargetType will give you this information. For example, if a line for Sales Order has TargetType 15, then TrgetEntry will be the DocEntry in the ODLN. But if it TargetType is 13 it means the Sales order was converted directly to and Invoice and bypassed the creation of Delivery step, which is possible in SAP.
    So here is how I think you will need to link Sales order and Delivery
    RDR1.TrgetEntry INNER JOIN DLN1.DocEntry AND
    RDR1.TargetType INNER JOIN DLN1.ObjType AND
    RDR1.LineNum INNER JOIN DLN1.BaseLine
    Now this could get a little more complicated if you do partial deliveries. For example if a line in your Sales Order has say 10 items and 6 of them are delivered using Delivery Note 123 and the remaining are delivered using Delivery Note 124, then the join will give you 2 different lines.
    So basically you will need to link the tables in this fashion
    ORDR <-> RDR1 <-> DLN1 <-> INV1 <-> RCT2 <-> ORCT
    Unfortunately, this linking process can get complicated if you do not follow certain steps, like for example if you do not create a Delivery Note and converted your Sales order to Invoice. Then the link would be
    ORDR <-> RDR1 <-> INV1 <-> RCT2 <-> ORCT

    I want to fetch all the sales orders based on the ship date (LIKP-WADAT_IST) of the delievry.

    VBFA has VBELV and POSNV can be used to map VBAP (sales order item) i.e.
    VBFA-VBELV = VBAP-VBELN AND
    VBFA-POSNV = VBAP-POSNV
    with VBTYP_N = J Values available in VBFA-VBELN and VBFA-POSNN will be LIPS -VBELN and LIPS-POSNR
    VBTYP_N/ VBTYP_V = J stands for delivery and C stands for order

  • Linking to an OBIEE report without showing the user and password

    Hi!
    we are trying to access to an obiee report from an external portal (coded with php).
    The idea is that the user clicks on a link an gets the report in pdf format. For that purpose we are using this url:
    http://ttivobiee01:7001/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/Prueba/ogp_obi&Action=Print&P0=1&P1=eq&P2="Criteria"."Key"&P3=1402&NQuser=user&NQPassword=pass&format=pdf
    But this url is expossing OBIEE's user and password.
    In order to avoid this security issue we tried to do an wget of the url but it doesn't return the report. Instead we get an html, which seams to download the report chunk by chunk (using javaScript).
    The question is, is there any way that we could let our portal ussers access to an obbie report without expossing the user and password?
    I have been looking into oracle forums and have found this: OBIEE Go URL with password protected
    but we couldn't use this aproach due to security issues.

    Is there any report in SAP, which can show invoice number and delivery document number, I know the SAP table, but is SAP standard report available?
    Example:PO: 5500075241, plant abraod delivery number 3510000174 and plant abroad Invoice number 3550000019, we need report which gives Delivery and Invoice no.

    No standard reports shows both delivery and billing references in a single report.  You can develop a query in SQVI by table joining VBFA, LIKP and VBRK.

    Can any one help me to add two more column for standard report that is purchase order and delivery dates for Internal order wise.
    But here problem is when i checked with ABAP team they said there is no standard functional module to add two column.

    My client suggested : S_ALR_87012993 this tcode to run, but we suggested with S_ALR_87013019 as in this tcode we can get all the details
    That is required output fields, as it is showing all details but on yearly basis, he wants this to be period wise and also Abap team is not able to find standard functional module in the second tcode as well.
    Out Put fields to Pop up
    1) Orders.
    2) Budget
    3) Actual
    4) commitment
    5) Alloted
    6) Available
    These are two additional column
    7)Purchase order
    8) Delivery date.
    Require your help to know which all tables are included to extract above out put fields please help me.

    Thanks for reply, can you please let me know is there any other way to show the output fields.
    As my client is very specific to run the report on period wise, i also tried to execute the standard tcode S_ALR_87013019 and were we are getting all the required outputs to pop up but this is on year wise, but we can also check by period basis by clicking on order number and actual period basis where we can see period basis.
    Also one more question,what is the commitment table which is popping up in this, please advise.
