OC4J "classpath+properties" issue

Hi,
Is any fix available for the OC4J classpath+properties issue?
It can't find *.properties files even if it is in the classpath.
It's not convenient to jar properties files and edit the manifest.mf file in orion.jar every time you want to add new file

The classpath for the Oc4j is entirely different than what is normal classpath. If you start your oc4j with -jar option the system classpath will never get effected. If you want your properties files to be recognized keep under the possible classpaths. Oc4j takes every thing from lib directory so you can keep there.
If you have an application you can add <library path=""/> tags to your application.xml and keep the properties files in that directory.
If you have webapplication usually web-inf\lib added in classpath.

From the error listed it appears that you have a path that is specific to your development machine which does not exist on your server. It is good practice to avoid placing jars and libraries that your application is dependent upon in directory structures which only exist on your development machine. So if you have oc4j on your dev box, put the taglib in a path relative to an ORACLE_HOME environment variable and deploy taglibs to same on the server.

Convergence 2 Timezone in calendar properties issue

Hi. I'm using Convergence 2 with patch 1 so when i set default timezone in options tab on calendar genteral to Asia Bangkok and check calendar properties in Calendar tab. It's turn into America Denver but in Directory server user profile icsTimezone and sunUCTimeZone has set to Asia/Bangkok. I'm not sure is it a bug or not. Anybody got this issue? I'm need help. thanks

Sorry it isn't a software bug. Course of when calendar 6.3 create new user's calendar DB it will set timezone in calendar DB by timezone config in ics.conf file for the first time. After i edited ics.conf to change timezone parameter then delete user's calendar DB. It' fine now after new create.

OC4J Classpath problem

I've installed OC4J on my Windows NT4 development machine.
I have a system classpath that points to lots of standard classes, for utilities, etc.
If I start Orion with the command "java -jar orion.jar" then it doesn't pick anything up from the classpath,
if on the otherhand I start Orion with the command "java -jar -cp %CLASSPATH% orion.jar" then I get a java.util.zip.ZipException error
with the following message "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect"
Do I need to set the classpath elsewhere?

In the config/application.xml you can set the librarys you want orion to know about.
Example:
<library path="../lib" />
<library path="../../anotherlibrary/anotherlib.jar" />

OC4J port binding issue

This thread is in OC4J/J2EE forum, but it feels like it could be an Redhat AS2.1 port handling issue, so I'm copying here...
I'm having some problems with OC4J standalone. Starting and stopping OC4J gives error:
"Error starting HTTP-Server: Address already in use"
and sometimes "Error starting ORMI-Server. Unable to bind socket: Address already in use
and almost always "Error starting JMS-Server: Unable to bind socket: Address already in use
Starting and stopping a few times usually results in a successful restart, but this is intermittent success and not predictable. Reallocating with a different port numbers means successful start fist time, but then it follows the same pattern.
This is OC4J standalone 9.0.3 pure java deployed on Linux RHAS 2.1...
Java version is 1.3.1.1_02-b02
My start and stop scripts look like this :
startoc4j.csh
#!/bin/csh
java -Xmx100m -Xms100m -Dscm.logon=true -jar oc4j.jar -userThreads &
stopoc4j.csh
#!/bin/csh
java -jar admin.jar ormi://localhost:50501 admin ias_admin1 -shutdown
Has anyone seen this before? Is there a standard start / stop script for OC4J standalone on UNIX that I can use?

This was found to be a JRE on Linux bug. Solution was to upgrade to Javasoft 1.4.1...

Skype Properties "Issue"

Have posted this recently but still looking for an answer
In Skype Properties - Security - Group or User Names there are the following

Account Unknown S-1-5-21 .........

Interactive
Should the User "Account Unknown" be there as I do not see it on my laptop or old Desktop. Is this a problem or is it maybe because I have a newer version on my new Desktop. Sorry I haven't given you a snapshot. Would welcome an answer Thanks

Adobe Print Properties Issue

I am having an issue with the print properties being extremely delayed when hitting the print icon on Adobe Reader XI. I reverted to Adobe X to see if that would fix the issue, but it did not. I am running adobe reader XI on several (32) different Terminal servers that are on a Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. I also have a server running Adobe Pro that is used by the people that have been assigned licensing for it. Both are displaying the same issue. Sometimes the print properties can take as long as 4 minutes to appear after hitting the printer icon. Once the print property is open, the file prints normally. The printers are all networked and running on a print server running the same OS as the terminal servers. I have unmapped the the printers and remapped them as well while troubleshooting.

UV Properties Issue

Hey,
I was having an issue with my UV maps, so I went to Photoshop and decided to change it over there. My problems started here.
I edited the UV properties and started doing the texture job on this little model:
After finishing the very first part above, I decided to try it out on other applications (C4D or Unity).
So, I exported it as .DAE and .OBJ just in case.
For my surprise, when I exported the files, the UV mapping did not change on the exported object, making the textures go completely wrong on other applications, except on Photoshop it self.
How can I fix that and export the new UV Mapping with the file?
Using Photoshop CC 2014.

PS does not change the actual UV parametrization on the meshes, this is merely an internal thing. Simply the wrong tool for this work.

Syndication Map properties Issues!!!!!!!!!

I am having some issue while doing settings for "SYNDICATING ALL RECORDS TO ONE XML FILE".
I had followed instruction as per SYndication guide pg 140,where it says:-
To syndicate all records to a single XML file
1. On the Map Properties tab, click in the Value cell of the XML File
Output property and select Single File (All Records) from the drop-down
list.
2. Click in the Value cell of the Repeating Record Node property and
select the repeating XML element which contains the record structure
But the issue is when i do the above still field "Repeatable record Name/Node" is greyed out and doesnot allow me to select IDOC segment.
So is this the issue with XML schema file OR is there something i am doing wrong?
Please let me know if anyone has got these issues..

Issue is, we had a XSD to which we added/extended some more fields..As a result root node of XSD was changed and the whole map now needs to be redone.
Old XSD was/is still allowing us to select Segment in Reapaetable node in Map Properties, but new XSD doesnot allow .
How is this possible that for same MDM version system allows to choose Repeatable node segment selection(in Map Properties tab) for one XSd and stops doing it for other?
Also if we dont select the repeatble node how will you map qualified tables?

Deployment of AM as a web service on the OC4j server raises issues

Hi,
I need to create an application with BC4J components. The AM needs to be exposed as a Web Service. Then, some of the VO s and some custom methods would be exposed as Service Methods.
I have followed these steps:
1. Created the required application.
The AM has a VO(say, VO1) and a custom method, say, getSum.
The signature of getSum is:
public int getSum(int a, int b)
2. I have included getSum method and the GetByKey method of VO1 in the Service Interfaces editor.
3. Created a Business Components Service Interface deployment profile in the project where the service interface is defined .
4. At the Application level, created a EAR Deployment profile whose "Application Assembly" section includes the "Common" and "MiddleTier" Jars from the Business Components service interface deployment profile above .
5. Deployed the application using the application-level EAR Deployment profile.
Deployment completes successfully.
When I try to access the Service methods, the Invocation comes up fine.
Two issues crop up after that:
a) If I invoke getSum, by passing in 2 valid integer values, the following error comes up:

OC4J 11 deployment issue?

I am having issues deploying applications to OC4J 11. I am using Seam and finding that I have to put a lot of jar files in the j2ee/home/applib folder in order to deploy my ear file. This does not make sense to me coming from a JBoss and Weblogic background. I have added an orion-web.xml file and told OC4J to look at my war file first for class loading but it still does not find the classes. I am having to do something similar to http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=SeamOC4J11g . Is this because this is a preview release or is this just typical behavior from OC4J?

first of all, most of the jar files are JBoss and Sun specific, which means they don't ship by default with OC4J. So if your background is JBoss then possibly these libraries are contained by default. Note that in OC4J there will be JSF 1.2 pre-configured (a requirement for JavaEE compliance). If however Seam requires a specific version of JSF then still it might be required to deploy already existing JAR files with the application.
A war file s a deployment file and contains jar files that are stored in the application's lib directory. Even in a JBoss and Weblogic environment I don't believe that WAR files are referenced as ibraries (especially if they are contained in an EAR file for deployment). I could be wrong on this statement because I don't know Weblogic well enough, but its kind of ultra strange if they would do this.
Oracle OC4J has the concept of shared libraries, which allow you to configure libraries for all applications to use. This has been introduced in 10.1.3 already and continues in OC4J 11.
as you assumed, OC4J 11 is in preview and I cannot exclude that classloading has a problem. This however is what you should be check soon when we bring out a second preview that has more functionality added and completed.
Note that if - using the newer preview - you still have issues as we move along with new versions, just do another post and I am happy to take this up for either the developers to look at or the doc team to explain in our documentation

Properties Issue

HI all
We have defined some properties. Some of them are of type String and rest of Date. We have developed custom upload webdynpro application which attaches these properties to documents.When we upload the document all the properties are getting saved under Miscllaneous tab. Through code we are also enabling the versioning for the document.
Previously we were using KM SPS9 till that time there was no problem at all.
But when we upgraded to KM SPS11, from that time we are facing following strange issue.
When we see the properties of versions only properties of type String are shown and properties of type Date are missing.Please suggest the solution.

The properties are present under Miscellaneous Tab. But these properties are not shown with any version not even version1.But when we click on save button under Miscellaneous tab then new version gets created with these properties.
Note that the problem is with DATE type properties only.

OC4J classpath & environment variables

Hi,
What do I have to have in my classpath?
What environment variables I need to have?
Do I have to install JDK X.XX before I install OC4J or does OC4J comes packaged with a JDK?

I think you should install JDK1.2.2_07 or 1.3.x before you install OC4J. I am using JDK 1.3.1 now. I had used JDK 1.2.2_05 and _08, but when I start OC4J, there was a NON-FATAL error message. Although it's NON-FATAL, I still don't like it. So I moved to JDK 1.3.1. My classpath in system environment variable is ".;", nothing else.
But if you are going to use OCI8 JDBC driver,
you'd better replace the classes12.jar under OC4J\lib with classes12.zip coming with Oracle8i Client 8.1.7.3. otherwise, you will encounter an "UnsatisfiedLinkError" when you use the datasource to get connection. In addition, you should set the "path" variable in order to run Oracle8i client. You can find the information from Oracle8i'd documentation.

OC4J class loader issues

I'm developing four JSF-Icefaces web apps. with Eclipse and OC4J as required for my customer.
I created a common classloader inside of the folder C:\oc4j_extended_101340\j2ee\home\applib in order to avoid the repetition of the inclusion of several common jars (like commons, jsf, icefaces among many others) inside the folder web-inf/lib for all these apps.
However, this approach is not working, for some reason OC4J always throws all kinds of "ClassNotFoundException" when using this common classloader, so I have to copy the bunch of jars in web-inf/lib of all apps.
What's wrong? Thanks!!!

Like we told you. If the code for a class changes, Java will not automatically notice and load the new version, until you start up the JVM again. If you do not want to re-start the VM, you can create a new ClassLoader (CL), and use it to load the new code for the class.
Now, the problem is, the second CL may think it has to reload many of other classes, since it has no record of loading them itself. You will end up with duplicates of many classes.
If that doesn't suit you, there is not much alternatives.
You could rename the new version of the class, which would mean you'd have to manually track down all the old versions and upgrade them ( by using the new Ctor). You'd then have to update all the references to make them point to the new object. You can make that particular job easier by making both classes (old and new) extend a common base class, or implements the same interface, and use the interface reference (i.e program to an interface).
Another less-than-perfect possibility would be to use serialization where you serialise version-marked objects and reconstitute them with new code...

Audio Properties issues in CS5.5

I'm trying to add audio to my Flash project by importing a .mp3 file to my library, selecting a frame, selecting the .mp3 file under properties, and putting Stream as the Sync setting. However, The audio won't play, and the layer in my timeline won't change into a waveform display. I'm trying to follow the instructions for adding sound shown in this video: Ep 10: Lip Sync | Happy Harry's HuHa Two How Tos - YouTube.

I should also mention that audio in my timeline will play with the Event or Start settings, but not Stream. However, I need to be able to pause and play my sound at the same time as my animation, which I'm assuming (maybe incorrectly) the Stream setting will allow me to do.
