Oc4j port change

Hi,
During installation my oc4j says
Port 9704 is in use. This may indicate another OC4J instance is running on this
machine. Please shutdown that running OC4J instance or the application that is
using port 9704 before proceeding with this installation to avoid OC4J port
conflicts.
so is there any way we can change the port while doing the installation?

Hi,
Step 1. Stop Oc4j service.
Step 2. Look for “default-web-site.xml“ file in the following directory in OBIEE home
OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\config
Step3. Edit the “default-web-site.xml” file and change the “9704” port to “80”.
Step 4: start the oc4j services

CSCtg82170: ip sla target port changes to 1967

I've been impacted by this bug significantly. The sla's are used for gathering stats that populate a customer portal. The bug basically causes the sla to fail when the event occurs and there's no indication that it's occurred.
For no reason the target port changes to 1967 which is reserved for IP SLA control packets.
example:

It took quite some time to work out what was actually happening and some time on a Tac service request before it was acknowledge as a bug.

If you've been struck by this bug I know you'll be relieved that it's actually a bug and your not going insane :-)
We currently have extra monitoring/checking in order to get on top of the issue but a fix would be really great.

We're having a similar issue with icmp-echo in that our source-ip address changes quite frequently in the running config (7201 rtr). The destination ip also appears to change when viewing sh ip sla configuration but not in the running config. We're currently running 12.4(24)T1. Looks like we'll be doing an IOS upgrade in the near future...

Failed to start SQL SERVER cluster after port changed from 1433 to 61433

Today, I did Geo SQL2012 Cluster installation with with 2 VIP different subnet. Currently i'm getting problem in changing default port 1433 to 61433, after changing port Cluster group not coming up, SQL Failing. I don't know and not sure, if SQL
service is depend on Port. Please help us , its producion issue.

How you change port ,Changing Port in clustered environment required different procedure. You need to run the command of remove checkpoints and add checkpoints.

If you are talking about (stand-alone) OC4J, there are several ports that it uses. You set them in the configuration (XML) files that are located in the "j2ee/home/config" subdirectory.
The nature of your question implies to me that either you haven't read the documentation, or you haven't understood it. I will assume the former. ISE 1.2 Sponsor portal port change not working

Has anyone else had an issue where they change the default port number of the sponsor portal on the Admin node, all ISE restart, but the sponsor portal still only works on the default 8443 port?

Hi,
As you know that default port is 8443, but you can change this value so ensure that the same value you assign to the switch and it matches the setting in Cisco ISE.

Port Changes in OBIEE 11g

Hello,
I know during installation you can use a staticports.ini file to configure the ports used by OBIEE. However, I was wondering if there was a method of modifying the ports after installation? I see that I can change the port range for the instance, but what if I only want to change the port for the persentation server? Any suggestions or pointers.

Exchange Server 2010 Edge - Port Change

I am learning Exchange 2010 and have set it up. BUT my ISP blocks port 25 so I thought no problem I have a windows VPS set up I will install an Exchange Edge Server there and then it will work. However it looks like exchange uses port 25 to send the messages
to the Edge server.
I have used this command to change the ports of the send connectors but my router shows it is still trying to send on port 25. Any ideas?
Set-SendConnector “EdgeSync - Home To Internet” -port 2525
Set-SendConnector “EdgeSync - Inbound to Home” -port 2525
Get-SendConnector | fl
shows the ports as set to 2525
Any Ideas?

For home learning I would recommend you approached this from a slightly different angle.
Don’t make any changes to your servers that you would not encounter in a real environment.
Get a POP3 connector (POPCON is cheap) and pull all email from your gmail account using that application.
That application will then dump the messages using SMTP to your Edge or your HT (you choose)
Outbound messages are obviously SMTP and you can configure your servers to authenticate to your ISPs relay and send messages in the normal way.

ISE Provisioning - Google Play Ports Changed?

Tested on Nexus 7 - Stock 4.2 and Galaxy Nexus running 4.1. Same result.
Following TrustSec 2.1 Guides for ACL.
When attempting to download and install the "Cisco Network Setup Assistant" from Google Play as part of ISE provisioning, getting errors when trying to download while in "CENTRAL_WEB_AUTH" status on the WLC.
TrustSec documents that tcp-udp/5228 need to be allowed on your WLC CWA ACL...but It looks like the ports used for Google Play have changed to tcp/80 and tcp/443 when I look at Firewall logs without any CWA in place...has anyone else hit this? It cant be best practice to open 80 and 443 to two 16 bit networks....

Replace Orion.jar with Oc4j.jar, Changing the container

I'll be really appreciate any help.
My application( web-based application based on Forms6i) is working fine with Orion.jar. I would like to upgrade this structure to Oracle9iDS using Oc4j.jar instead of orion. I have a main.jsp ( http://www.bmhub.com) file that after getting username/password, opens another window to show the main menu including all options(forms6i).With "Orion.jar" it works fine, I get message "Login ok" and so on.
I installed Oracle9iDS and I changed application.xml in "C:\oracle\Forms9i\j2ee\Oracle9iDS\config". After starting startinst.bat ( contains oc4j.jar), I entered username/password but I get message that "some fileds are blanks" and "Login Failed". when I changed the oc4j.jar to orion.jar, the sartinst.bat disappeared after 1 second.
Also I tried to replace most of the files in "C:\oracle\Forms9i\j2ee\Oracle9iDS\config" with my old configuration ( Orion configuration), the startinst with orion.jar works fine and I'm able to enter username/password. but nothing more. the forms9i dosent work anymore.(error HTTP 500).
Could you please help me?

It seems getParameter() just returns null. I use it in my User.java file to login from main.jsp page.

Un-announced printer port change

Hi,
We have the following print server :
windows server 2012 R2 - 4Gb memory - Latest windows updates
We are printing with driver CANON iR-ADV C5235/5240 PS3 Type 3 User mode
Our users are printing to an LPR print queue named TEN-Follow-Me-BW (port print queue) for performance benefits. On the print server itself the documents are being forwarded to another print queue Follow-Me-BW (port NUL:) on the server itself to get the correct
color profiles and functionality.
Since we implemented this solution the TEN-Follow-Me-BW changes from port Follow-Me-BW to NUL:.
We have another queue for color printing and this one doesn't switch.
Please advise how to troubleshoot.
I've checked the eventlog and the Print-Service Application and services log.

Look for event 306 for the printer in question. This is the Setprinter event. There is no data regarding what was actually changed when the call is performed but you may be able to determine when the issue is happening and you can see if this aligns with
something else that is happening on the machine concurrently.

OC4J port binding issue

This thread is in OC4J/J2EE forum, but it feels like it could be an Redhat AS2.1 port handling issue, so I'm copying here...
I'm having some problems with OC4J standalone. Starting and stopping OC4J gives error:
"Error starting HTTP-Server: Address already in use"
and sometimes "Error starting ORMI-Server. Unable to bind socket: Address already in use
and almost always "Error starting JMS-Server: Unable to bind socket: Address already in use
Starting and stopping a few times usually results in a successful restart, but this is intermittent success and not predictable. Reallocating with a different port numbers means successful start fist time, but then it follows the same pattern.
This is OC4J standalone 9.0.3 pure java deployed on Linux RHAS 2.1...
Java version is 1.3.1.1_02-b02
My start and stop scripts look like this :
startoc4j.csh
#!/bin/csh
java -Xmx100m -Xms100m -Dscm.logon=true -jar oc4j.jar -userThreads &

This was found to be a JRE on Linux bug. Solution was to upgrade to Javasoft 1.4.1...

Password has expired + port change

Dear friends, i have managed to install NW04 SP15, and can login using the admin/admin combination. when i create another user or try to login using the Administrator loginid it gives me an error "Password has expired". Can some one help me solve this issue.
Also i want to change the 50000 port to the default port of 80. is this possible if yes where is the option to get this done...any help will be appreciated

When you have created the users then you must have given some roles to them. If any of the user you have created has User Administration role, then you can change the password of the "ADMIN" user.
Apart from that you can also set the initial values of admin user from the visual Administration. You can change the setting of the Administrator UID/Pass to defualt which changes it back to admin/admin. I hope these would help you.
Also, I dont know why do you want to change the port to 80. Actually when you install Portal 50000 is the defualt port for it. It is not the 80 port which we generally wants. This is SAP specific port. The port number depends on the J2ee Instance installed at the installation of the Poratl. So I would say that there is no need for changing this port.
