I'm new to this site and I'm planning to do OCA and OCP Certificate on oracle 11g.
I have an 1.5 years of experience on oracle as a DBA role,
But i don have certificate to prove that,
So please can u send me OCA and OCP course materails for to my mail id.

Most likely, it doesn't matter too much. I doubt that most employers are terribly concerned with what recent version of Oracle you have a certification on.
That said, if it matters
- What does your organization use? What are their plans to upgrade? If your company still uses 9.2 primarily and has plans to upgrade to 10.2 this year, you're probably better off with a 10g certification. If your company is already running mostly 11.2, you're probably better off with an 11g certification.
- What do most employers in your particular part of the world tend to use? What do job postings in your particular part of the world generally list?

Oracle 9i OCA/OCP Exam

Hi,
I just want to know that is it compulsory to study in any prometric centre for appearing in all exams of 9i/10G? Someone told me that, i will not eligible to appear in exam, until and unless i am not student of any prometric centre. Is it right?
I am sorry, i do'nt know; whether i should post this query here or not?

Sir, Thanks you so much. I checked the link provided by you and there is nothing mentioned like "a person must be a student of prometric / oracle authorized centre, for eligible in 9i oca/ocp exam". It means, if i prepare myself and study the oracle, i am eligible to appear in the exam (no need to be student of prometric / oracle authorized, bocz this condition is no where mentioned).

I've now read on your subject what you meant by fundamentals +(if all else fails read the original posters question)+.. ie 9i DBA OCA and 9i DBA OCP .... no for you forget those and and follow the link to the Pl/SQL developer track ....

Exam order is not important, but you dont get certificates unless pre-requisites all met. The is an interesting cheap beta exam arround at present if you are up for it ... 1z0-144

OCA/OCP study guide

Hi All,
I have a question about the 1Z0-803 and 1Z0-804 exams study guides. what do you think? Is it OK to use "Sun certified programmer java 6 study guide by kathy sierra" as a study guide for OCA/OCP exams?

Yes the book is very good for 1Z0-803 exam along with oca 7 training lab. For OCPJP 7, we are yet to find study books.

I have completed the training on E-Business suite Essentials and General ledger program on 11i
from oracle affiliated institute and I did not write any exam,
Is it possible for me to write OCA or OCP exam on R12, with out attending the any training programs on R12.

I gave my OCA exam on the 16th July and OCP exam on the 21st July 2010. I would like to know how long does it take for the OCA/OCP certificates to reach?

You may choose whatever test preparation you feel more comfortable with. But I suggest you to setup a practical test environment where you can test all features according to the topic guide provided by oracle at the Oracle Certification site, you can find it by following the certification link at http://education.oracle.com . Besides I suggest you to document each topic with the official documentation manuals from oracle.

Professional development - OCA/OCP

Hello
I'm looking at doing my OCA/OCP certifications and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or suggestions for good training companies to do them with in the UK?
I've had a look at QA Training, and they seem to be pretty good, and I know there's the oracle university.
I just want to make sure I do them with a reputable firm if it's not oracle themselves...

The OCP Oracle 10g New Features for Administrators Study Guide, SBEX
has 8 Chapters of instruction, 25 questions / chapter, and 2 practice tests. Very helpful. SBEX box self study guides are a favorite of OCP test takers.

OCA for 10g ------- 11g OCP?

So, I just passed my OCA exam for 10g, but my question now is what do I do about the OCP? Do I take the OCP exam for 11g, or 10g? I know they were changing the format as of December 1st. Anyone have any idea? Thank you.

You need to complete Oracle 10g OCP DBA then you can upgrade to 11g OCP DBA (by passing 1Z0-050, Oracle Database 11g: New Features for Administrators).

Confused about OCA, OCP & OCM (Need some clarifications)

I want to do Oracle Certification.
I have following queries and would appreciate, if someone can answer me in detail.
1. Do I need to pass OCA first and then only I can appear for OCP? Cann't I directly just pass OCP exams and become OCP?
2. For OCP, I have read

I would say, Oracle should have something on their website, where it will ask, what course you want to do and generate one PDF file with the steps need to be performed/complete for the certification preparation/completion. Information is too scattered on oracle website.

2) Pass Oracle Database 11g: Administration I 1Z0-052
By passing the above two exams, you become 11g DBA OCA. To become 11g OCP DBA, you need to do the following after getting the 11g OCA DBA:
3) Complete one of the approved instructor-led online or in-class courses
4) Pass Oracle Database 11g: Administration II 1Z0-053
5) Submit the Hands On Course Requirement Form
