OCI Drivers in JDBC receiver

Hi All,
Brief Scenario: Insert data to CLOB field (source field may be more than 4000kb). Requirement to use OCI drivers in JDBC receiver adapter.
When calling Stored Procedure to insert CLOB data field, exception thrown by AE or Oracle server:
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'SP_ORDERS' (structure 'STATEMENT'): java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected %s got %s
I want to confirm whether SAP support OCI drivers using Stored Procedure?.
Thanks,
Rajesh Yallabandi

  • Not able to insert the data in JDBC receiver

    hi Team,
Please help me i am working on IDOC - JDBC interface i am not able to insert data into the table.
error says that table doesn't exists, but if i check in the database the table exists..
below is the error getting triggered.
could not execute statement for table/stored proc."A_PORDER_REG"(structure " STATEMENT") due to
java.sql.SQLException: ORA - 00942 table does not exist
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vishnu vardhan.

Might be u have given table name is diffarent, table name must be match in table field of jdbc receiver structure and table name of data base tables.both places u must give the same table names . this is one reason another one u might be given jdbc structure is wrong. u must specify jdbc structure like this.
       STATEMENT
       TEST
action(attribute) (action u specify as INSERT)
TABLE( here  u give the table name )
access ( below u write the fields)
and one more is u check the receiver communication channel in that u check properly u have given jdbc drivers, connections , user name and pass word.
check all those things definatly u wil find the error.

  • Installing 8.1.6 OCI drivers with 8.1.5 RDBMS

    Hi,
I developpe an application in java 1.2.2 which have to connect to an
    Oracle 8.1.5 Database.
Or 8.1.5 OCI or thin Driver don't support java 1.2.x so I try to use
8.1.6 OCI with 8.1.5 Database as it is said in JDBC FAQ :
    "JDBC 8.1.6 drivers can talk to RDBMS 8.1.6, 8.1.6sdk, 8.1.5, 8.0.6,
    8.0.5, 8.0.4 and 7.3.4."
"8.1.6 OCI and THIN Driver - JDK 1.1.x and JDK 1.2.x"
I would prefer to use OCI Driver due to performance so I would like to
know how can I install 8.1.6 OCI Driver? Should I install a 8.1.6 Client
to connect to an 8.1.5 Database?
    Thanks,

all jdbc oci drivers require the matching client install on the same platform.
(i.e. The 817 JDBC oci driver requires the RDBMS 817 client install, etc.)

  • Transaction Handling - JDBC Receiver Adapter - Multiple SP Calls

    Hello,
    I have the following scenario:
I send an XML-SQL structure with multiple statment elements (each of them calling a different stored procedure). A stored procedure raises an error back to the JDBC Receiver Adapter in case of error.
Is it possible to have transaction handling in the JDBC Receiver to ensure:
    - Commit only after ALL stored procedures where succesful (no error risen during calls)
    - Rollback of ALL already called stored procedures in case an error has been risen
How can I implement these requirements in the JDBC Receiver Adapter?

One more comment, I have found the following info for JDBC Drivers:
<i> "JDBC driver's default is to autocommit, meaning that the result of every SQL statement is permanent as soon as it is executed. This is why the course hasn't had to be concerned with transactions so far, and is perfectly acceptable in many cases."</i>
So I think that each SP-Call is automatically commited in case autocommit on JDBC Driver Level is set to "true". Does anyone know where I can change these settings? Directly on JDBC Receiver Adapter or do I have to go to Visual Admin for those changes?

    HI Cuong,
It seems something wrong with the installation of JDBC driver or in the config parameters for Adapter.
Not sure if driver is case sensitive.
But from the log it shows "oracle.jdbc.driver.Oracledriver".
    Try putting "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver".

  • JDBC receiver error urgent

    Hello Friends,
I am using file to JDBC scenario.
i am getting following errors in the JDBC receiver though i have set all the parameters correctly.
the same scenario is working when i used XI server but it is giving errors when i am connecting to remote server.
i used sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver driver for the same.
Error when attempting to get processing resources: com.sap.aii.af.service.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=//bomwsap020/sugeet/AIP/DATABASE/Flight.mdb': SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'.  It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
    Please help on this.
    thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Sugeet.

    hi Sugeet
first check whether your user has the right to access Data base
Then check whether you have deployed the drivers correctly
You have to deploy the required JDBC drivers for the database before making connection. Ask the database provider or your vendor for the drivers That should be deployed using SDM tool
Start visual admin of XI and select service "Deploy" and then select option "Deploy and start" to select file and deploy it
    Three option available:
    1. Using SDM
    2. Using Visual Admin
    3. Using NW development studio (Not available for Production)
We will use Visual Admin u201CDeployu201D deploy service to deploy
    Steps:
    1. Goto VM->Deploy service
    2. Select option u201CDeploy and startu201D
    3. Select EAR file provided for deployment
    4. Restart the service.
    5. Done

I think you may have followed their documentation and it is wrong. You
    may
    have set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to
oci80x_x but you should look for ...weblogic/lib/soloris/oci80x_xinstead.
You are picking up the NT dll not the soloris so.

  • Difference Between Thin and OCI drivers

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the OCI and thin JDBC drivers. Or point me to some documentation.
Why would you use the thin driver over using the OCI driver??
    Thanks for any help.
    Steve

    - The thin driver is easier to deploy, since you don't need any Oracle software installed on the client.
    - The OCI driver will have slightly more functionality than the thin driver because it's able to leverage the Oracle client.
    - If you're doing a lot of data retrieval (lots of bits over the wire), the OCI driver will tend to be faster.
    - If you're not retrieving a lot of data, the thin driver may be faster, since the OCI driver incurs a context switch when it goes to make OCI calls via JNI.

  • OCI drivers on Linux

Hello, I am running weblogic and using Oracle's thin drivers. I
would like to reconfigure and use the OCI drivers instead. How
    exactly do I do this?
    -- thanks
    null

    ORACLE_HOME=/opt/instantclient_10_2
export ORACLE_HOMEYou don't set ORACLE_HOME with Instant Client.
    PATH=$PATH:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    export PATHThis is unnecessary.
    CLASSPATH=/opt/instantclient_10_2:/opt/instantclient_10_2/ojdbc.jar
    export CLASSPATHThis is wrong.
    It should be:
    CLASSPATH=/opt/instantclient_10_2/ojdbc14.jar:<whatever else you need there>
    Java.library.path=/opt/instantclient_10_2
export Java.library.pathThis is useless; java.library.path is not an environment variable.
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc10 in java.library.pathThe case is pretty clear. You want to use the OCI driver (your URL starts with "jdbc:oracle:oci:"), so the Java Virtual Machine is looking for libocijdbc10.so in the Java library path but cannot find it.
What is also clear is that the program does not use the CLASSPATH environment variable you set, because then it would never have found the Oracle Driver.
So it seems that your program is ignoring the environment you set (which would explain why it also ignores LD_LIBRARY_PATH which you set correctly).
You must have the environment variables set and exported in the shell that starts the "java" executable.
Also, check that there is no other ojdbc14.jar on this machine (use "find").
To help you debug your problem, let me explain how Sun Java sets Java library path on Linux:
    - If you start java with "java -Djava.library.path=/some/dir:/other/dir ...", the Java library path is set to exactly that value.
    - If you do not specify -Djava.library.path, the Java library path is taken from the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
    - Directories listed in /etc/ld.so.conf have no influence on the Java library path (which gave me quite a headache in the beginning).
Do you really need the OCI Driver? If you can do with the Thin Driver (i.e., use an URL that starts with "jdbc:oracle:thin:") you don't need any shared libraries at all.
    Yours,
    Laurenz Albe

  • Calling stored procedure multiple times in the JDBC receiver

    Hi,
I am calling the stored procedure(SP) to update a DB table in the JDBC receiver.
SP has 10 input parameters, and SP can receive one value for each parameter at a time.
In my case, i will have multiple rows to insert using SP.i.e multiple values for each parameter.
Its working correctly for a single value for each parameter, but when i have multiple values i want to call the SP multiples times.
    Is this possible and how?
    Thanks,
    Varghese.

    Varghese,
I think you can have multiple statements in the JDBC Adapter's XML, as in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/96fd3f2d14e869e10000000a155106/content.htm.
Here the StatementName1 node can be inserted into your JDBC XML as often as you want.

Not necessary. UPDATE can be asynch as well.
Can you turn the trace on like pointed by Michal and then you can see the Query in the Audit Log of the adapter montioring. Try to execute the same query from your DB Client like TOAD and see what is the Syntax error you are getiing.!
The problem looks like some field has some dataype / column name mismatch.

  • How to use Native SQL statement in JDBC receiver interface

    Dear All,
Can any one please help us in using Native SQL statement in a JDBC receiver channel. The reason why I need to use Native SQL statement instead of standard XML structure is that I need to execute a dynamic SQL query in third party database system lke:-

    Hence I need to know:-
    1. What message mapping I should use in case if I have to use Native SQL statement.
2.What operation mapping I should use in case if I have to use Native SQL statement.
If guess correclty I may have to use Java mapping to do the above activities. Hence I want to know

You can use a stored procedure, and call it from jdbc receiver adapter.
I also solve this issue, with a DBLookup in message mapping. You can refer to my blog, and this usefull 3d:
