Ocx file

I want to incorporate the components in this .ocx file that I have into a
labwindows project. I choose 'Create ActiveX Automation Controller' from
the Tools menu. I do not see that particular server (.ocx file) on the selection
menu, so I browse and try to add it. It gives me a 'Type Library not compatible
for ActiveX Automation'. Why is this so and how would I be able to work
with the vendor to be able to have these controls available to me?

When you look closely you will find that CVI is NOT fully supportive of
ActiveX Comp. The word from NI is that it will be in the next release,
which is due sometime in 2001.

The longer this thread continues, the more ancillary comments you throw in that aren't directly pertinent to your problem with your DVR software not working with Firefox 4.0. Sorry, I don't intend to continue with this discussion.
I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is.

  • How to make view Java Bean as .ocx file.

    Hi All,
I want to use a visual Java Bean in Visual basic. So that I can modify all the bean properties as modify properties in a ocx file.
I used ActiveX Com bridge downloaded from Sun's site. But the packager
    makes a .tlb file .
This file can only be added as a reference in visual basic but not as a ActiveX control. Is there any way out to do that???
    Thanks & regards.
    Nimesh

The packager creates a registry file and a tlb file.
After registering this .reg file, java bean can be used as an ActiveX control.
From within Visal Basic, select the "Tools" menu and "Custom Controls" item and add the Bean control that was generated.

  • I can register an OCX file in Windows 7 x64 without incident but with Windows 7 x32 I get a p-up that says "DllRegisterServer failed with error code: 0x80004005. What gives???

Hey yeah.  not much else to say.  The title says it all.
I'm trying to register an OCX file that my video editing application requires to work properly.
I'm using a  Registry (Regsvr32 and Regsvr64) tool to Register DLL/OCX files.  Both bit Registry tools work fine. I can Register any DLL or OCX file with Windows 7 x64 and everything goes smoothly.
But, when in Windows 7 x32, again, no problem with merging the Regsvr32 tool, but when I go to register the OCX file message says it was loaded but the DllRegisterServer failed with error: 0x80004005.

    I don't know what happened.
My Video Editing software was working fine a few days ago in Windows 7 x64.  Tried using it this morning....couldn't load the .mpg video clip.  Just stood there looking stupid like it does in the 32-bit version of Windows 7.
I was hoping the x64 version of Windows 7 RC 7100 was going to make a decent run against my XP Pro SP3 setup. When I was able to register the required .ocx file for the video editing application, I thought "cool".  I made a TV recording then used the Video Editor to edit it and it worked fine.  Earlier this morinng I made another TV recording, went to go edit it and the video editing application couldn't load the .mpg file at all.  This problem just annihilated any chance of me ever purchasing Windows 7, 32 or 64-bit.GA P35 DQ6 Mb, Intel Wolfdale 8600 3.33Ghz C2D CPU., 4x2Gb Mushkin DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 Ascents Memory Mods., PNY-nVidia GE Force 8800 GTS (640MB), 4-Western Digital Caviar SATA(2) HDD's (internal), 1 EIDE-USB External; Hauppauge PVR 1600 TV tuner, Dual Monitor: (1) Standard up top, (1) WideScreen below; Altec Lansing Speakers. How do I attach a button to a method of an ocx or active x file? Is the activex component available on the front panel?

You should probably browse directly to the OCX file if the component isn't registered with the system. If it is compatible with the front panel, you can simply drop it into an ActiveX container on the front panel (which requires the OCX to be a control (???)). Otherwise, you can create an ActiveX reference, and browse to the OCX. This will allow you to create invoke and property nodes.
If you have trouble browsing, please post again, but it should simply be a matter of selecting browse, and then browse in the submenu to get file dialog to point to the OCX file directly. One possibility is that even though the control is registered (which makes it show up in the selection dialog), it may not have an obvious name. It is also safer to point to the OCX fil
e, as this prevents your code from breaking if the OCX is upgraded or otherwise altered.

    I tried the following:
-Rename WMS.exe to WMS.exe.old to make sure it will not get installed.
-Create an application for CDO and put that application as a pre requisite for Groupwise.
In my task sequence, before groupwise is being installed, the CDO component will get installed first.
In my latest test, the installation of groupwise failed with the same error message then before.
For the installation step, I am using this command line: "WIN32\setup.exe" /s /V"/qn /le C:\Groupwise.log"
The task sequence will download the files into is cache then start the install appending the path to the exe file to the command line. All the files are present in the cache folder.
The VCRedist 2005 is installed prior to the installation by another software but I did made some test that let Groupwise installed is own VCRedist. Still an error message.
The exact error message is: Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files (x86)\Novell\Groupwise\gwab1.ocx failed to register. HRESULT -2147010895. Contact your support personnel.
I am deploying Groupwise during a task sequence on Windows 7 SP1 with IE9 and .Net 4.0 installed with some update. At the moment groupwise is installed as the second software.
The version being installed is gw8.0.3HP3_client_win_multi.
When installing the previous version, using the same exact task sequence, there is no error and the installation is done.
I did validate that the Windows NT Messaging was not installed.
If I can provide any othe information please let me know.

The files are for a Programming Tool done in Visual Basic.Comdlg32.ocxCwui.ocxMSCOMCTL.ocxRightx32.ocx Riched32.dllThese get installed in the system32 folder, that works, but the Tool can’t access them till they are (regsvr32) this has happened several times on a Vista windows. No problems with XP and not sure if it happens on all vista computers. How can I avoid having the customer (regsvr32)?

  • Activex (.ocx) file does not install unless installed through Internet Explorer

Please fix this Adobe... I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out why it was not installing the activex (.ocx) file when I installed it through firefox or chrome. Low and behold if you install it through Internet Explorer than it installs the activex file. Other programs use the activex (.ocx) file.

It doesn't matter if you download the installers from Firefox, or IE, or whatever browser.
    There are two installers:
one for IE that installs the ActiveX control
one for other browsers that installs the plugin

    Hi,
What program are you running from that shared drive? Have you tried to launch this program in a local place or just reinstall the program? Check the Event Viewer for detailed information.
Some files might got deleted by accident\malware, so check your recycle bin or run a security scan or run sfc/scannow, check if there can make any differences.

  • Use pdf.ocx or AcroPDF.dll to open a pdf file in a form

    Hi to all,
I have this kind of problem.
I need to open a pdf in a form, just for reading.
Even if my project is written in VB6, this is not the problem. It could be also in .NET, so I hope you don't reply anything about the development platform.
In a couple of threads, I found two ways to open a pdf in a form: using pdf.ocx or acropdf.dll.
In both cases, this solution works for me in debug, but not in deployed release.
I have two kind of problems:
    -  if the computer where I execute the program HAS NOT Adobe Reader  installed, I have an error "missing dependencies" concerning acropdf.dll  or pdf.ocx
    - if the computer where I execute the program has Adobe Reader installed, I have an error concerning dll or ocx file version.
The solution works only if the AcroPDF.dll file included in my project has a version equal to the Adobe Reader version installed on the customer's computer.
How can I solve these problems?
The best would be if I could use one of this components without installing Adobe Reader.
If this is not possible, my further question is: if the Adobe Reader version installed on the customer's computer is greater than my AcroPDF.dll, will my project work?
If you need further informations to understand the problem, you can ask me.
    Thanks in advance for replies.
    Bye
    Nino

PDF.OCX was an UNSUPPORTED COMPONENT that stopped being included as of Adobe Reader 7.  Also, VB6 support stopped with Reader 7 as well.  As Adobe only supports Reader 8 and later, there is no need to worry about either.
AcroPDF.dll is part of Reader - it isn't available separately.  So yes, your users will need to have Adobe Reader 8 or later installed on their computer.
As long as you target Reader 8 or above, and AcroPDF.dll - you'll work with Reader 8, 9 and X...
