Odd frames around navigation bar

Hi,
So far this forum has been so helpful! I am hoping someone can help a newbie here.
When I look at this web site that I designed in Dreamweaver, it looks fine in Safari but has these odd frames around the navigation buttons in Firefox. Can anyone offer me some advice?
Thanks!
Kathryn

Rather than posting a screenshot, it's always best if you post a link to the live site for these issues so we can see the page and code.
Even if the site is not ready to go live, upload to some temporary webspace, give us a link then pull the page down off the server.
At a guess, add the following to your CSS stylesheet
a img { border: 0; }

  • Frames and Navigator Bar

    I have a JSP with two frames, top and mainframe. In the top frame, I have a navigator bar with a custom button on it that will invoke another JSP URL. I need to have the top frame remain showing so that when this button is clicked the mainframe frame gets the URL invoked. I have tried setting the setTargetUrl of the custom button to "mainframe". When I do this, the URL is invoked without the top frame. When I don't set this, the top frame invokes the URL and leaves the mainframe frame alone.
    I have also attempted to place HTML code ahead of the bean <BASE TARGET="mainframe"> and that does not work either. Please help.

    Hi!
    Try to set target url like "yourUrl\" target=\"mainframe\""
    But I think you need refresh and navigator frame too. So you must write script to do this. If you have luck - plese let me know.

  • Odd blue frames around rollovers in Firefox

    I get blue frames around rollover graphics in Firefox, but
    not IE or Netscape usually after they have been clicked. Some stay,
    others disappear. Any ideas what is causing this? All are jpgs and
    look to be lining up correctly.

    I know of a css correction that may help, though usually I
    see the same in IE so I'm not sure if this is the solution for you.
    Try adding this to your css:
    img{
    border:none;
    a{
    outline-style:none;
    The browsers add default outlines / borders. If you are
    seeing this only after the images are clicked, you might want to
    look into the css visited pseudo classes if you have set them for
    the site.
    let us know if this does not solve your issue so someone can
    help you troubleshoot further.

  • Why has the "Reload current page" control been moved to the navigation bar Firefox 29? I would like to be able to place it where I had it in Firefox 28.

    After getting the Firefox 29 download I tried to rearrange my buttons\controls to where I was used to having them in Firefox 28 and prior. I noticed, in particular, that the "Reload current page" control is no longer available to be set in front of the navigation bar where I've had it for years now. The reason I chose Firefox in the first place was because I could customize it to my liking. I know you can simply right click and "Reload" the tab or just get used to going to the end (right side) of the navigation bar but that defeats the purpose completely for me.
    Here's an analogy; Ford decides they will now replace current model cars in the US with British standard style vehicles. Every car sold by Ford will now be right-hand steer. While this may seem like a "no biggy" to some, others, especially those of us who are inclined to drive standard transmission vehicles, may be a bit resistant to that change. Not sure if I successfully made my point or not but hopefully I did.
    Initially I thought I'd start by "Has someone fallen and hit their head?' or "Did Steve Ballmer suddenly take over Mozilla, in particular the build of Firefox 29, because this one smells like a Windows 8 (aka the aroma of a full sewer tank on a hot day)?" It is understood that updates are required and as an IT guy, I've been around for many a faux pas where the kinks just need to be worked out. They happen. Maybe some consideration will be made with Firefox 30 to those of us in the states that are used to left-hand steer vehicles.
    I may be missing something here, and will gladly fall on my sword if that is the case, but there is no indication that I've seen from the Mozilla sight that the "Reload current page" control can be manipulated in any way as of Firefox 29. On the bright side, I now have a good reason to go back and review some of the browsers I discounted back in the day when I decided to go with Firefox.

    As far as I know, [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ the Classic Theme Restorer add-on] is the only way move the Reload button outside the address bar.
    # Install [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ Classic Theme Restorer] and restart Firefox when prompted.
    # Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
    # Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
    # On the Main tab, make sure "Movable back-forward button" and "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" are checked. You might also want to check "Combine stop & reload buttons". Close the options window when done.
    # Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
    # Drag the Back/Forward, Stop and Reload buttons onto the navigation toolbar.
    # Click the Exit Customize button in the lower right corner when done.
    That being said, I should point out that you can reload pages in other ways.
    * Right-click any tab and choose Reload.
    * Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Reload.
    * Press F5.
    * Press Ctrl+R (Mac: Command+R).

  • Open Firefox 4 in new window gives a Window frame and address bar does not refresh the current url

    Using Firefox 4 in Windows 7
    I have customised the position of tabs (Tabs on top) and which toolbar items I would like to see.
    The first window I open of firefox 4 always has the configuration as I set it.
    Whenever I open a new window of firefox either:
    - Right-click a link to open in a new window
    - Click a link anywhere (such as an email) to open a new window
    - When a website opens a page in a new window
    Bad Results:
    - The new window does not have the configuration as set in the main window (Tabs on top)
    - The new window has a windows type window frame around the firefox window (see two sets of window controls eg. "minimise", "restore" and "close")
    - The open page does not show the url - navigating to a new page within this window will not update the url :: strangely enough clicking the url page icon will update the url as it should be
    - Sometimes when restarting firefox, it will open the first main window with the remembered tabs and then open approx 8 or so blank new windows as described above

    This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Create a new link in the navigation bar for cutom application

    Dear CRM guru's,
       I am new to CRM 2007 and I need to create a custom application which would present a web form to the user(all CRM business roles), user would fill in few details and upon submit action of the form, I need to write the data into z tables in CRM 2007 Web-UI framework. Can you please share your thoughts here.
    Thanks!
    Surya.

    Hello Surya,
    explaining everything you would have to do in detail is a little bit to comprehensive for this forum. Best thing is to finde someone to explain it to you in person. A colleague or even one of the SAP courses.
    To get you startet:
    Most important is TX BSP_WD_CMPWB here you can create and test your new component.
    From now on look in SPRO for the bold words it is in CRM->UI-Framework section.
    - After you created it, you have to make it known in the component repository and create technical links.
    - For the technical links you can create logical links.
    - These links can be assigned to a logical link group which is then part of your navigation bar profile.
    I hope this will give you a small idea how to get around. As mentioned above this topic is big enough to fill a whole day of training.
    When holding my first CRM 5.1 training back in 2006 it even took me four days to get the fellows started. With 6.0 it is no different

  • Top-Level Navigation Bar - Is it possible to make it 3 levels?

    Dear Portal Experts,
    Could someone please advise if it is possible to make the Top-Level Navigation Bar show more than 2 menu levels?  I looked at the document and it said we can only have 1 or 2 levels.  But I'm just wondering if there is any way around it.  Thanks.

    yes you are right .we can set only 1 0r 2 levels but good news is there is a workaround

  • Image Object Navigation Bar

    Hi.
    I am using DWCS3 to insert the navigation bar into my
    templates. Everything is woorking smoothly, except one little
    problem.
    My navigation bar contains rollever images are in different
    colors (e.g., red, blue, green) Home | Contact | About Us.
    When I clicked on About Us, I would like the rollerover
    button stay pressed down (green), so I know that I am visiting the
    page.
    Does anyone know what I need to tweak to get it to work like
    I mentioned above?
    thanks.

    I am finding browsers like IE6 increasingly impossible to
    work with, every error that dreamweaver seems to report for browser
    compatability seems to be because of this. As far as I know there
    is no simple way around this, I will be watching this thread to see
    what others have to say though!
    I have seen when looking at HTML some site's have a <IF
    IE6> or something along them lines, can anyone shed anymore
    light?
    Thanks,

  • Navigation bar not visible in edit mode

    Hi,
    is there somebody who can help me out of this: in edit mode my navigation bar is not visible, however once the site is uploaded the bar is visible. During edit mode i can only see a big dot which positioned in the navigation bar text box.
    I am using the latest version of iweb and OS 10.6.8
    looking forward to any good sugestions. Thanks.

    That is so unusual.  Usually it's the other way around: looks OK in iWeb but not after publication.
    Log into another user account on your Mac, launch iWeb, create an new test site and see if the navbar is visible.  If it isn't then the application seems to be the culprit and a reinstall of iWeb seems warranted. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iWeb" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
    Click to view full size
    Then install iWeb from the disk it came on originally and apply all necesary updaters.

  • Using Insert/Images Objects/Navigation Bar - weird quirks

    DW CS4
    When I go to the above path in DW to add a navigation bar and add a few elements, the code produced seems fine (I'm talking strictyl about the sentence case of the code - all lowercase). Now if I go to Modify/Navigation Bar to add a few more elements, the additional code is now in a different case (it's in sentense case - first letter capital). For example:
    When I first insert a navigation bar, some resulting code is
    onmouseover="MM_nbGroup('over','home','','',1)"
    but when I go to modify the navigation bar, the additional code added now becomes
    onMouseOver="MM_nbGroup('over','galleries','','',1)"
    I know how to quickly find/replace to fix this, but this is just weird to me why DW would use two different sentence cases. Is that just a function of the software, or is there some setting I'm missing to make sure ALL code is in lowercase? I already have my default tag case <lowercase>
    Test it out yourself and let me know if anyone gets the same results or knows why this is happening.
    Thanks...
    I just noticed something else... on initial creation, the code includes id="", but when I modify/add to the nav bar, there is no id="" included (I have to manually add that code)... what the crap is going on??

    Unicode is the character set encoding -- not the same as DTD.
    I can't recreate your experience with DW on Windows Vista.
    Here's the code I get from DW -- same as before and after editing the menu...

  • NAVIGATION BAR feature (or bug?)

    When I add javascript to a navigation bar entry HTML DB automatically adds a "width=1%" to the cell in the navigation bar table. This causes the navigation bar to move away from the right side of the screen.
    This "width=1%" is not coming from a template.
    Until now I have found now way to get my navigation bar back to right side of my screen.
    This looks like a bug to me.
    Anyone agree?

    I am running into this problem, too. Did you find a work around?

  • Navigation bar moves

    I've inserted a Flash navigation bar to the left of the
    larger photos on my galleries. It's positioned just fine for a
    panoramic but when I load another image, a vertical or full frame
    horz. the nav bar moves up or down according to the size of the
    photograph. I would like to have it anchored at a set distance from
    the thumbnail images in the upper bar so it's not bouncing up and
    down.
    Here is a test page showing what I mean.
    http://www.westlight.net/gallery/wildlifetest2.htm
    This is probably DW8 101... or less but...help!

    Put your navbar in a div above the gallery itself, center and
    style it as
    you wish .. then put the gallery in a div under that and it
    should stay
    within its div without interfering with the navbar.
    Nice gallery. :)

  • Images in Navigation Bar

    Hi I'm new to iweb I've just published my site online (still in progress) when I publish it from a local folder everything looks in order, however when i publish the site online it adds images to some of the tabs in the navigation bar. I've deleted the page several times and inserted a new home page but unfortunately this problem still crops up. I would be gratfeul if someone could help me solve this problem.
    Thx Martin

    I prefer clickable links :
    http://www.designamind.co.uk/
    Anyway, you mean this :
    I think you use the Modern Frame theme which has the links in the navbar right-aligned.
    You added tab-like images, but these do not fit the links.

    http://www.designamind.co.uk/Design_A_Mind/About_Me_files/shapeimage_3.png
    Solve it by hiding the nav bar and use textboxes with links and place them on top of the images, or use these images as background of the textboxes.

  • Navigation bar floating, can't seem to position to top

    Could use a second set of eyes. Bought a theme template and did some adjustments in DW. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the navigation bar - "top_bar" - is floating. it should be positioned at the top of the page. The footer also seems to be floating.

    Not sure if this is a css or php issue. I can deal with css, php is a little tougher on me. Guidance would ure be appreciated.

    I've been doing the drinking part...believe me!
    Here is the grid.css code. It seems only directed to the tablets, etc...which is maybe what you were saying...or is there supposed to be something in there directed at the full page site and it is missing?
