Odd issue after SP3 RU 5 Installation

We installed RU 5 for SP3 last night and this morning we are seeing a few odd issues.
The main one being that people that have additional mailboxes attached to their mailboxes are receiving messages that Outlook is unable to expand the folder. They still have permissions to the mailbox,
but are not able to access it.
We have gotten around this by removing the mailbox from Account Settings and adding it back, but just wondering why this would be happening.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jessica Cochran

Hi lzbit2011,
Based on your description, there must be something changed with the profile.
And according to the error message, i found a KB for your reference:
You receive an "Unable to expand the folder" error message when you add another mailbox to Microsoft Exchange Server service in Outlook

Hope it helps,
Best regards

  • Exchange 2010 - Issues after rollup update installation.

Exchange 2010 - Issues after rollup update installation.
We are having issues since we installed SP3 Rollup updates 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Issue1 - People get an error messages constantly popping up when they access our webmail. The error messages are:
An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled. and
Your network connection is unavailable. Please reconnect and try again.
Issue2 - When I open the Exchange Management Shell I get the following error:
Failed to connect to an Exchange server in the current site. Enter the server FQDN where you want to connect.
Issue3 - We have been using third party software to filter spam email. It is installed on our Exchange server. Since the updates it has not been working and we have tons of spam coming through. I dont think that this issue is that important at the moment and
hope that it will be fixed after resolving issues 1 and 2.
We uninstalled all four rollup updates in hopes that everything would go back to normal but it hasnt. We still have the same issues.
Currently we are running Exchange 2010 SP3 on 2008R2 SP1.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Based on the description, you got the error below when you tried to accessed OWA after rollup update installation.
"An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled, and Your network connection is unavailable. Please reconnect and try again."
For this issue, I recommend you check the OWA virtual directory to see if "Redirect requests to this destination" is checked. If it is checked, please uncheck the option. Then please restart IIS service to check the result.
Open IIS Manager -> owa -> HTTP Redirect -> uncheck "Redirect requests to this destination:"

  • RAM issues after installation (Late 2009 iMac)

I was trying to upgrade a late 2009 iMac computer from its original RAM of 4GB. I purchased 8GB of memory from Corsair off Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Channel-204-Pin-SO-DIMM-CMSA8GX3M2A1066C7/dp/B0050 5EZYW/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1403201294&sr=8-6&keywords=mac+memory+notebook+8+gb), which, despite saying is "Notebook Memory" in the description, there are numerous reviews stating that it works in late 2009 iMacs and the packaging itself says it will work with iMacs. I've installed memory before on two other Macs, including another late 2009 iMac (from 4GB to 8GB), but have had issues with this most recent installation. Like I said before, the computer originally had 4GB of memory, with 2x2GB cards in their original slots (the two slots closest to the stand). So, I installed the 2x4GB cards in the bottom two slots (slots closest to the display).
Upon rebooting the computer, I get a single loud tone, repeated every 5 seconds, which, according to other support articles, means that there is no RAM installed. I took out the RAM cards and tried various installations, and can't even get the original two cards, by themselves and in their original slots, to work. I'm pretty sure I am installing them correctly - I don't hear a loud click when I slide them into place, but the fit definitely feels snug and can hear them shift into place, plus I get a nice click when I've popped them out with the tabs.
Other things to note - there seems to have been a fair amount of dust when I first removed the plate where the memory is held, but that was easily blown away, but I could have possibly lodged dust further into the slot. But I highly doubt that is the issue. I installed it on a carpeted floor to protect the screen, which looking back could mean there was a slight static charge, but am not sure if this would result in damaging the cards to the point where the computer does not recognize them anymore. I didn't realize this till after the first failed installation, but there was a refrigerator-type calendar magnet (very, very weak) on the front of the computer that I am wondering might also have something to do with the issues.
I could try installing the RAM on the other late 2009 iMac but don't want to risk ruining another computer...
Please let me know if there's any additional information I can supply. I wanted to include any possible sources of issues so I can pinpoint exactly what caused this to occur, or if there's something I am simply not doing correctly.

Not sure if it's a permanent solution, but found something that works. Not sure exactly how the locking mechanism for the cards work, but I had an idea that possibly one side was seated poorly, causing the issue to occur. I therefore tried two cards on the left side, found that didn't work, and tried two cards on the right side, and that did work. I tried two cards on the right side, with one card either in the top left corner or top bottom corner, and the top left corner worked, but caused the computer to start beeping again shortly after turning on. Took out that card, restarted the computer, and now it works fine, albeit with less memory than I originally wanted. It did once run into an issue shortly after turning on when it did 3 short beeps, 3 long beeps, and 3 short beeps. I saw an error online with the inverse (3 long, 3 short, 3 long), but couldn't find a definitive answer for what my particular pattern meant (someone said it was a logic board error). Anyway, I left it by itself as I looked for an answer, and in the meantime it restarted again and ended up fixing itself.
Not exactly sure if this will start another series of issues, but that seems to work in the meantime.

  • Odd, but minor, issue after last update

    Hi all,
A couple days ago, I finally updated OSX from 10.4.7 to 10.4.8, and I think in the Software Update routine there was an Airport update, and several other updates for Logic Pro, iMovie, etc., etc. All were minor updates.
However, now I have an odd issue. Every time I boot up my Intel iMac, I get a message saying that none of my trusted wireless networks are available, and it asks me if I want to connect to Apple network "xxxxxx" -- of course, the "xxxxxx" that the message refers to is my normal Airport network, so I click yes.
And that's the end of the issue until the next day, when I boot up the iMac again, and again I get the message. It doesn't seem to effect the actual performance throughout the day.
This minor issue began immediately after the last update, and only effects my Intel iMac. My G4 iMac, which was updated at the same time, to the same software specs, is unaffected.
Is this a bug, or is there something I can do to resolve the issue?
    Thanks!
    Kevin

I heve the same problem. Two laptops and a desktop that used to connect automatically to my WPA protected AEBS. Since 10.4.8 none of them auto connect anymore. They never drop the connection during regular use, nor waking from sleep. But on shut down or restart it will not auto connect.

  • SP3 Almost completes installation but freezes at the Finishing stage showing "Running processes after install"

I have an HP Pavilion zd7000 laptop with Windows XP & SP2 update installed. Processor is Intel Pentium 4. My system is clean with no rubbish software running. I have several anti-malware & anti-spyware systems installed but they are dormant & not running during the attempted installation. SP3 almost completes installation but freezes at "Finishing" stage showing "Running processes after install". Anti-virus is of course switched off. The system then hangs fore-ever with hard disc activity showing intermittently but nothing else happening. Luckily, by holding down the laptop on/off switch I can always eventually restore to previous settings & recover full use but without SP3! This is annoying & frustrating. I have seen a lot of threads about this problem but no real answers. Can anyone help please?

What is Shmrate.exe is not running?
This can be read two different ways
One well if you look at it like this
    User>shmgrate>Operating system>drivers>computer. Result is denied!
If you have something like this
User > User Account Control >Operating system>drivers>computer. Result is denied again!
Note that an adminstrator is only a adminstrator and Computer Adminstrator can install Sp(s). Which I believe is tyour question. Which is my guess.
Which is the reason some people reccommend installing from the "Adminstrator" account Which generally is not a User account. Yes some people add and modify there account access by using Subinacl.exe and reset.cmd, which bumps the account from adminstrator to Computer Adminstrator. An alternative is to boot into safe mode. Pressing the *F8* key before the windows welcome screen starts up. And selecting safe mode. Which is why more people report success with using the .ISO install.
To add to your confusion. Windows Sp2 usually has windows installer 3.0, or windows installer 3.1
Table us types of accounts. I wish windows 200 documentation had made it completely into Xps documentation. They had an excellent table with tthe types of accounts
Limited user. Not able to run more then basic programs. Not able to ;install device drivers, not able to install progras, not able to install Sp(s)s
Power user Able to run more advanced programs. IE Defragger.
adminstrator. Mess with the operating system, back up things, able to install programs, add users. When Windows Xp is installed this is the type of user associated with adminstrator. NOT CA
Computer adminstrator. Able to Install of all things Sp(s).
Hopefully this helps you out. Of course there is the release notes, Xp solution center and of course things to do before installing Sp3.

  • Boot Camp Update 2.1 for Windows XP after SP3 installed?

I accidentally installed SP3 on my Boot Camp Windows XP installation, and now BC update 2.1 will not install (fails). I currently have BC 2.0 running.
Is there any way to get BC 2.1 to install AFTER SP3 has already been installed? Can I roll back SP3?

Well, I had similar issues, at least, in that I had not installed the update before SP3, actually, I wasn't even aware of the update until today when I started hunting for a driver update for my graphx and soundboard, since some games that used to be stable were crashing on me all the time.
As I actually have a licensed OEM version of XP on my bootcamped partition, re-installing it may cause me to have to call to MS to even be able to activate and I really didn't feel like doing that...
What I found out is that you can unpack the .exe file using 7Zip (and probably other similar tools) which yields two new .exe files, one of which with almost the same name, unpack that one too and you should end up with a directory named "BootCamp20ToBootCamp205" containing a bunch of files that start with "binary.". Figure out which ones are important for you (for instance, I needed Binary.Nvidiamobile_XPBin for my MBP) and add the .exe extension to the file-names, run them and follow the instructions.
This will give you at least a partial update for those components that are causing problems. Now all we have to do is wait until Apple makes an SP3 compatible installer-bundle so we don't have to go through this crap by ourselves...

  • HELP !! Installation stops immediatly after language choice - Windows Installer configuration window

    Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to solve this probleme for 1 month now.
    Problem :
I'm trying to install the 30 days trial Premiere Elements 9 on my system : Win XP SP3 - with Windows Installer 4.5 (enough RAM/Disk space etc...)
Each time, I double click on the " SET UP.EXE", the install stops just after the language choice window, finishing its process by showing a Windows Installer configuration window providing unuseful information like this (it is in French) :
    "Windows ® Installer version 4.5.6001.22159
    msiexec /Option <Paramètre requis> [Paramètre facultatif]
    Options d'installation
    </package | /i> <Produit.msi>
      Installe ou configure un produit
    /a <Produit.msi>
Installation administrative - Installe un produit sur
      le réseau
    /j<u|m> <produit.msi> [/t <Liste de transformations>]
      [/g <ID de langue>]
Publie un produit - m pour tous les utilisateurs,
      u pour l'utilisateur actuel
    </uninstall | /x> <Produit.msi | Code produit>
      Désinstalle le produit
    [...ETC.............]"
The windows has a "OK" button : I click on it and then the installation stops here without any other message. Everytime.
I tried to resolve the problem by checking/modifying windows installer services process in Win XP, running Windows Clean up utilities, Ccleaner  etc..
    No way, still the same.
For information, Photoshop Elements 9 trial installation worked on my computer..
    Please help if you can.

  • After installing itunes 10 installation was successful but then tells me error 2 (windows error 2), After installing itunes 10 installation was successful but then tells me error 2 (windows error 2)

After installing itunes 10 installation was successful but then tells me error 2 (windows error 2).

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunesSetup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Odd issue

I own multiple palms devices, and I am having an odd issue. I have used a Palm m505 for a while now, and recently upgraded to a Zire 72. after installing the new desctop, I discovered that I can no longer sync the m505. just sits there and can't connect, while the Zire connects without issue. could it be that you can't have more than one USB palm device syncing with the same computer?
    Post relates to: Palm V

Nothing at all. that I find to be the most curious. the palm dektop version is 4.1.4, and it does not respond at all. to the m505. I suspected the cradle was bad, when I found it would not light up the charging light no matter how much I wiggled it on the base. So from there, I picked up a m515, just to get the cradle. no joy. this did not help. I still cannot sync or even get it to respond. I've tried different USB ports, but this has not changed. (the motherboard is an ABIT v17) what's annoying is that the zire does not seem to be affected at all. syncs all day. on demand. anytime I press that button. the computer does nothing, the M505 and 515 both give the timeout error message. little red roundle with a white X in the middle, "Hotsync Problem" The connection between your handheld computer and the desctop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again. There's not a lot to check. the update manager has two tabs for modem connection, but none for USB. is there an update for the basic manager as opposed to the palm desktop?

  • Odd Issue when using Firewire drive with Leopard-Locks up Dock, etc.

I have an odd issue that has developed on my MBP using OS X 10.5.1 Leopard. It only appears to occur when I plug in my External Firewire Lacie Rugged Hard Drive. I only use that Hard Drive approximately once a week when doing a complete mirror backup of my MBP's Hard Drive using SuperDuper. As far as I can tell the issue occurs only once the Hard Drive is plugged in, not because of SuperDuper or the Backup.
Here is the issue: For some reason within a minute of plugging in my hard drive my Dock doesn't work. It scrolls when I put the mouse pointer down to the Dock but it won't open up any icons I click on. It's just like it doesn't recognize the left mouse button. Also, I am unable to select any menus at the top of the screen. I can left click on them and even right click on an icon such as Macintosh HD on the desktop and there is no response. I am able to drag Windows across my desktop though but it seems overall that my keyboard becomes inactive. For example in a open Numbers spreadsheet I am able to use the left mouse button (so it works then) to select a textbox and get the blinking cursor but yet if I type and use even the delete key there is no response. Even after I'm done with the Hard Drive if I drag the Lacie to the trash to eject it won't eject. The only way to eject it is simply pull the Firewire cable out.
I had a few issues with my system earlier and found out I had some bad memory. The memory was replaced and the problems went away. I am worried I had some corrupted files from that time but what puzzles me is I have used my laptop for weeks with no problems. It is only while I plug in this hard drive. In a worse case if I can't figure out how to fix it I feel I'll have to do a complete format and reinstall Leopard and I don't want to have to do that. This only occurs when I do the backup but can be a pain. Any ideas if I can fix this?

Erase and reformat the ext HD. Then, redo the SuperDuper! backup.

  • Various Issues After Update To Bootcamp 3.2 (MacBook Pro, WindowsXP)

    Hi all,
i'm experiencing various issues after i updated to Bootcamp 3.2.
I first was running Bootcamp 3.0 (everything worked just fine, except some nv4_disp.dll bluescreens). I updated to Bootcamp 3.1 and then to Bootcamp 3.2.
Everything seemed to be fine firstly, but now i noticed various issues:
    1. I can't access the Bootcamp control panel (crashes when i try to open it (applecontrolpanel.exe at Offset 0004703a)
    2. Everything USB doesn't seem to work (except external USB drives), like USB printer does not print, camera attached via USB does not import photos)
When i check the Driver-Manager i'm seeing multiple USB hubs, root hubs and host conrollers (4 root hubs, 2 openHCD usb host controller, 2 usb hubs...). When i try to configure the USB port the printer is connected to i also get an error ("not supported").
    3. When i try the extended display settings i'm getting an "NVIDIA display panel extension can't be displayed".
MacBook Pro 13inch, Windows XP MediaCenter Edition (SP3), NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.
    Thanks: Lars

Answered my own question, but want to post how I did it in case other users have the same problem.
I am assuming this issue appeared because I live in Canada. When I installed the Bootcamp 3.2 update, for some reason it changed my regional language of my system to French (Canada) - Canadian Multilingual (Apple)
To change it back I went in Windows XP to Control Panel, Regional and Language Options. Languages tab. Under Text services and input languages clicked Details.
Under settings tab changed Default Input Language from French (Canada) - Canadian Multilingual (Apple) to English (Canada) - US. Click apply.
Wait...it was working, but in the time it took me to type this it suddenly reverted and Im back to weird character mappings inspite of the language setting being changed.

  • Color (onscreen/print) issues after update to 10.4.9

I am on the hunt for any new information - I haven't found it yet. I am convinced that one printer profile has gone haywire after the OSX 10.4.9 update. I can no longer use it accurately to onscreen proof nor application manage print in Aperture. The other printer profiles seem to be working. Using PSE4 I get the same preview and print results - major yellow/orange colorcast. My other two printers are working ok.
I understand proofing may/will present a shift in lightness, contrast, etc. and you can create an Aperture version to make adjustments for that profile. But I am experiencing a major shift that is difficult to adjust in the overall image.
Has anyone experienced "all of a sudden" icc profile / onscreen proofing / printer issues after the update (FYI ColorSync was updated in that)? I have tried just about everything except un/reinstalling Aperture.

Did you find out anything about this? I'm having exactly the same problems with Aperture and 10.4.9. Onscreen proofing is completely useless for all profiles supplied by HP (I have a B9180 printer). It might of course be an issue with these particular profiles, but odd thing is that it's only the screen rendering that looks wrong (yellow or reddish cast) while the prints looks just great.

  • Bluetooth Issues After 2.2

I apologize in advance for the lengthy thread, but this is a very odd issue that I have been troubleshooting for over a month.
I pair my Droid X with my Kenwood KDC-X994 stereo via bluetooth to stream music, handsfree calls, and navigation. Before the 2.2 update, the phone paired perfectly and I never had an issue. Immediately after the "update," the phone started randomly rebooting while paired with the stereo and streaming audio. During the reboot, the phone goes to the red eye and once it starts back up, I can press play on the stereo to resume audio playback. Here is the kicker....the phone will now be stuck in landscape....even the home screen. It looks as if you put the phone in the car dock, but closed out the car dock app to the homescreen. There is a link below of someone else with this issue and includes pictures. The only way to return to normal is to restart the phone. I mostly pair the phone while it is not in the car dock, but have had this happen while in the car dock and navigating (it has happens whether its in the dock or not.) When it happens while navigating, I have to restart the navigation, which is risky when traveling long distances and through places with no reception. The only thing I have done to the phone is install a few very basic apps (facebook, mint financial app) and put music on the sd card.
Another person with same issue and pictures:
Droid X Random Stuck In Landscape / Horizontal Mode | A 'lil KnowHow
I have contacted both Verizon and Motorola. They both recommended a hard reset, which didn't work, so they replaced the phone...which also didn't work. To add fuel to the fire, after the hard reset on the first phone and recieving the new/refurb phone I now have issues getting the phone to automatically connect to the stereo. It seems to hang up when pairing the phone portion (phonebook, handsfree capability, ect) and gives an error. I have to manually go into bluetooth settings and connect, which usually takes more than one try. Before the update, all I had to do was have bluetooth turned on and start the car. I tried unpairing the devices and repairing with no luck. It never asks for the pin code for the stereo when pairing for the first time, which seems to be the issue. After the hard reset of the first phone, I somehow eventually managed to enter the pin code and it seemed to have fixed it. I haven't had such luck since I swapped the phone out. Basically now all I get from Verizon or Motorola is "sorry, we don't know of any issue with this." My thoughts are "well, now you do so fix it!!" Apparently I am on my own with correcting this issue now so I was curious if anyone here has this problem or has any ideas. Needless to say, I am very frustrated with the phone, Verizon, and Motorola. Thanks in advance,
    Chris

Try doing a hard reset on the device.
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
    Touch Settings.
    Touch Privacy.
    Touch Factory Data Reset.
    Touch Reset Phone.
If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
    Touch Erase Everything.
