I reviewed the ODI related OBE in oracle site. It look like basic. I reviewed the getting started guide, user guide and ODI blog (Which have some pieces for golden gate, not for ODI).
What are the other sources to know/learn more about ODI?

OAF Tutorial Extension - To add Site Name in Purchase Order Summary Page

I have gone through all steps for adding Supplier Site Name for Purchase Order Summary Page. It works but seems it shows SiteID instead of Site Name.
The main instructions says
Step 2.3 Create Your New View Object (VO)
Make a copy the PoSummaryVO query statement before you begin creating your new VO. Expand the oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server package in the Navigator pane and edit PoSummaryVO. In the View Object Editor, select Query to display the query statement for this VO. Make a copy of the query statement.
Create a new VO, named <YourName>PoSummaryVO, that extends oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server.PoSummaryVO.
Create the VO in the <yourname>.oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server package.
Add the oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.schema.server.SupplierSiteEO entity object. Leave the Read Only and Reference checkboxes checked. We are going to use this entity object only for read-only purposes.
Add the SupplierSiteId and SiteName attributes from the SupplierSiteEO entity object.
Paste the query statement that you copied from PoSummaryVO into the query statement field for <YourName>PoSummaryVO. Now append the following SQL phrases to the copy of the PoSummaryVO query statement to compose the query statement for the <YourName>PoSummaryVO.

Step 2.8 Personalize the UI to Display Your New Attribute
Rebuild the ExtendLab project and make sure you have no errors.
Run the <Yourname>PoSummaryCreatePG.xml page with personalization turned on (see Personalizing Your Pages and Portlets for more information on how this is done).
Select the Personalize Page global link.
In the Choose Personalization Context page, select Page: <Yourname> Framework Toolbox Tutorial: Multistep Create from the Scope poplist and select the Apply button.
In the Personalize Page page, check the Complete View radio button for the Personalization Structure. Expand the Stack Layout: Purchase Order Summary Region node, locate the Table: Purchase Orders Table entry in the page hierarchy and select the Create Item icon.
In the Create Item page:
Set the Item Style to Message Styled Text.
Set the ID to SiteName.
Set the Prompt to Supplier Site
Set the View Attribute to SiteName
Set the View Instance to PoSummaryVO1
Select the Apply button
In the Personalize Page Hierarchy page, locate the Table: Purchase Orders Table entry again and select the Reorder icon.
In the Reorder Contents of Table page's Site list, move the Supplier Site item to be sequenced immediately after the Supplier item.
Select the Apply button.
In the Personalize Page Hierarchy page, select the Return to Application link. Now you should see the Supplier Site column added to the Orders Table as shown in Figure 1 (you should see your name in the page title).
Note: We set the View Instance to PoSummaryVO1 and not <YourName>PoSummaryVO1. The BC4J substitution will take care of properly creating an instance of <YourName>PoSummaryVO1 at runtime in place of the PoSummaryVO1.
It does not show site name, it shows site id after havig done personalization.
Any idea why it would show site id and not site name.

What I found is there are 2 variables SiteName and SiteName1, if you use SiteName1 then it shows proper value as a site description. I replaced SiteName with SiteName1 and it works. This might help to all who are like me and trying Tutorial example.
I am not sure how many may have tried OAF - Tutorial examples. They are really complicated and not easy and in most cases they are not coming out in first try but if you really try then it will give lot of understanding.

Cannot Get Tutorial Builder to Work

Hi,
I am running CS5 on a 64-bit Windows 7 PC. I think I have followed all of the instructions properly, but I do not see Tutoorial Builder in the Extensions dropdown menu.
Here is what I did.
1. I downloaded both the Tutorial Builder Vers. Preview 2 and the Tutorial Player
2. I copied the scriptlistener.8li file from the scripting/utilities folder to the Adobe Photoshop/CS5/Plug-ins/Automate folder for the 64-bit CS5 program. The instructions read install and activate the scriptlistener plug-in. Have I activated it in this step with the copy process?
3. I double clicked on the unzipped Tutorial Extension file I downloaded. The CS5 AEM ran and seemed to install the Tutorial Builder in both CS5 64-bit and CS5 32-bit.
4. I double clicked on the downloaded Player AIR file and it appeared to install ok.
5. I restarted CS5 64-bit program, but the Tutorial Builder is not listed under Windows > Extensions.
I tried to redo the appropriate steps for the 32-bit version of CS5 with the same results.
I then deleted the scriptlistener.8li file from Automate folder as suggested.
What have I missed or what did I do wrong?
BTW I had to look on different links to put the above instructions together. I would be nice if all of the steps including those on how to handle the scriptlistener were in one spot. I have never done this sort of thing in CS5.

Thank you both for your replies. I have it working now. The reason why I deleted scriptlisterner from my Automate folder when I was done trying it out was because the documentation suggested that. Otherwise it would keep capturing steps generating a large file. I would just copy it in again whenever I would try to run Tutorial Builder.
Here's how I got it to work. I had done the installation properly (the manual approach) etc, but I know nothing about using scripts in CS5. In snooping around I found and did the following.
I clicked on File > Scripts > Scripts Events Manager. In the dialog that opened, I checked the box that says Enable Events to Run Scripts/Actions. That did it. Now Tutorial Builder runs. I have written/used Actions without this box being checked. I have no idea what it does or how it is used, but by putting the check mark there, things work right.
I don't think it was mentioned in the documentation. If it was I missed it.
Now the fun begins to actually play with the tool.

ODI Staging Area Confusion

I am following an ODI Tutorial from http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/odi/odi_11g/odi_project_ff-to-ff/odi_project_flatfile-to-flatfile.htm. Basically it is writing a flat file to another flat file. My question in this case where will be the staging area?
in the article it is using knowledge modules IKM SQL to File Append and LKM File to SQL; based on the knowledge modules used it means staging area is in Oracle btu Idon't know why it is so.
Please help me in this regard and I will be very grateful.

Your staging area has to be a technology with transformation capabilities i.e a relational DB. This could be a dedicated database such as SQL Server or Oracle or an in memory database such as SUNOPSIS Memory Engine. As both your source and target are files and don't have these capabilities you will have to choose the staging different from target option in your interface and then select the appropriate relational technology available in your ODI architecture.
The 2 inerfaces you have mentioned are not technology specific which means that you can choose any relational technolgy with SQL capabilities as your Satging Area, it does not have to be Oracle

Image Gallery with Accordion Widget.

I have an accordion widget with link image thumbnails inside. I want to have them enlarge outside, and next to, the accordion when clicked (or hovered). I did this years ago with GoLive and can't remember how, and it's very frustrating searching the web all day when I don't know what terms to use.
Anyone know of a simple tutorial, extension, or anything? I think I used to use a simple show/hide of layers... but it's been so long.

Try saving following page as .html file and run it (but making certain changes to it before that)...Hope that is what you are looking at.
1. use images and image path based on your settings
2. I have inline style at places but that is just a short cut right now. You use external css or styles in the page <Head> only.
3. Modify javascript to suit your behavior.
4. Make sure your reference for Spry files (JS and CSS) are also in sync with where you save this code.
4. Do go through the complete code to understand what is happening - In brieft here is a DIV with id ''right" used to capture the bigger images when you mouseover a thumbnail in accrodion panel. Similarly on mouseout the main image disappears (you may not need this).

Looking for tutorial or developer to for hotkey extension for Flash Pro.

I'm using Flash Pro CS6 on a Windows 8 touch/pen tablet. In put tablet mode, some of the common commands, especially undo, are difficult to reach without hotkeys or keyboard shortcuts.
What I need is an on-screen panel with big easy-to-hit "Undo" and "Redo" buttons that I can use as hotkeys on the touchscreen, much like the hotkeys on a Wacom Intuos or Cintiq. I have a little programming knowledge, but don't know where to start in creating an extension panel like this.
Can anyone suggest a good sarting tutorial for this type of add-on, or would anyone be willing to bash out such an extension?

Thank you for the suggestion but I had already looked at that.
I am looking for a working example or step-by-step tutorial that updates a table in SAP, using ABAP webdynpro. The PO example provided with Designer does not connect with SAP; also, the tutorial steps provided in the Designer Help do not even match the way the example form is constructed! (Help says use table object, the example pdf uses a repeating subform).
My problem seems to be in the binding between the form and SAP. I have tried various changes and nothing I try is transferring any data except the first row of the table.
I hope someone has a SAP example for this situation.

4Level Lightbox extension tutorial... PLEASE???

Could someone please post a better tutorial for the 4Level Lightbox Dreamweaver extension?
The existing one seems very incomplete and confusing.
Just check it out and you'll see what I mean. Here it is
The tutorial explains how to name new picture sets and add a set to existing sets and so on.
But....
The tutorial just doesn't seem to address how to:
add new images to an existing lightbox or set or whatever
add thumbnails
open anything else in the lightbox (like an html doc...etc.)
I don't seem to be able to add multiple photos to a set. (I can only do one photo in the lightbox using the plugin module )
I absolutely concede that it may just be my limited reading comprehension that is making it so difficult.
But please, please someone help. I just don't get it.

Managed to unzip it ok. Now I am stuck as there are .jsx files and script files but no instructions.

i hava a problem in running odi on IBM AIX, when i write ./odi.sh. the odi can not start ,
"Product extension oracle.odi could not be loaded. The product cannot start." This is error message, why?
by the way IBM AIX's version is 5.3, ODI'S version is ofm_odi_generic_11.1.1.3.0_disk1_1of1 ,It is correct?

Where might I find a good tutorial on creating an HTML-5 based extension for Flash Pro CC?

I have extension builder 3 installed in eclipse and it appears to be working like normal. I'm able to create a new extension builder project. I need help taking the next steps.
Previously in extension builder 2.1 and Flash Builder 4.6 it auto-created the .mxml and .as files for me so all I had to do was insert a bit of jsfl into the as script section and save and could see it show up as a panel in my Flash Pro panels menu. With EB3 I can't really tell what it's doing and am unsure on how to continue, are there any boiler plate files available I can plug in? I want to start simple and add a button, a bit of jsfl, and progress but can't seem to get past installing eb3. Any help or tutorials available? Thanks

Barnes & Noble is an excellent source of knowledge; I often end up there with a notebook and a pen myself. It is true though, sometimes trying to find information about programming can be an obscured journey; there are often times when something so simple, if explained better would have saved hours of trial and error. I don't think there's a person on this forum that hasn't experienced this exact scenario, and probably more than once.
As unfortunate as it is, this is the way it is, programmers don't always make the best writers. Assumptions are made and people don't always have the time to write out all the specific details of a how-to, but in a way you have to learn to read through that. If you're interested in really learning how to program in any language, I can't think of a better way to learn it. When you read a snippet of code and it doesn't work, the only thing you can do is figure out why it doesn't work or to abandon the code and move on. As harsh as this is, it can really help improve your knowledge; it forces you to really understand the tool(s) you're using and once you understand it, you start to progress much faster.
I know you were probably were wanting more of a straight-forward answer, but I think it's important to know that we all have and still go through the same sort of frustrations.My suggestion is to find a site, book, a user group, or a class that teaches you what you need to know, and in a way that makes sense to you. I removed extension files (.kext) of AMD Radeon after following a unhelpful tutorial, how can I get these files back?

If they are in the trash, you can simply control click on the file and select >Put Back
