ODP Data Source Delta issue 2lis_11_VAHDR 2lis_11_VAKON

Hi Expert,
I am pulling the data from SAP using ODP data sources. 2LIS_11_VAHDR 2LIS_11_VAITM 2LIS_11_VAKON.
For all the data sources I am doing the initloads. For 2LIS_11_VAITM data source after init load its enabling the delta.
For remaining data sources even if you try to pull the delta it's loading full load.
Steps I am following
LBWG do the deletion of setup tables.
OLI7BW fill the setup tables.
Run the data services job which pull the initial load. It loads all the data.
Change the ODP data source settings to Init load to No (Capture only delta)
In SMQ1 all the delta records will be captured
Run the Jobs which pull the delta records to ODQMON from there if you run Job in data services it has to pull the Delta records.
This is happening for 2LIS_11_VAITM but not for other data sources 2LIS_11_VAHDR and 2LIS_11_VAKON.
Event if you try to pull the delta records its loading all the records.
Can some one throw some light on this

In RSMO, go to the details tab and check in which stage the load has failed. If the issue is with extraction then go to Environment > Job Overview in the source system. Check if this job is complete.
I hope you must have cleared the Delta Queue, so now go and check if any entry is being displayed for 2lis_11_vahdr

I have created a generic delta source (transactions) with the following options: -
- using the extract structure
- enabled the generic delta with billing creation date as delta specific field
- calendar day selected
- safety interval upper limit = 1 calendar days
- additive delta
carried out the folling steps in BW
- Full update from above generic data source (all records)
- Init upload without data transfers (1 record)
- Delta enabled
Now, even though i am editing / modifying any record on my own extract strucutres record on R/3 side, it is not getting reflected in RSA7 (delta queue).
P.S:- I have modified one of the record from full update.
Ideally the modified record should be shown in RSA7, but i am not getting the same.

I also thought the same point. But the records modified / edited yesterday are not appearing in today's delta. I am wondering why.
Is it anything to deal with FULL / INIT without deta transfer / DELTA procedure..

I have couple of questions regarding data extraction.
1.     If you have Data Source a Flat File e.g. Excel file I know that you have to create Data Source at BW side. How do you upload updates, by selecting Delta Update when executing next Data Load? Do you ever u201Cconvertu201D this Excel file into Application Tables to become SAP Source 
2.     Can you please give me example of situation where you had to create Generic Data Source? What is difference between Time Stamp, Calend. Day and Numeric Pointer. Which one is most common to select?
3.     I read somewhere that Generic Data Source does not have Setup Table. I thought that you have to have Setup Table in order to load transaction Data otherwise you will lock the Application Tables. Where am I going wrong im my thinking please?
4.     What are steps in terms of IP before, under and after Delta Initialization. I belive that you can do two ways:
Full Update - Initialize Delta Process (without Data Transfer) u2013 Delta Update or
Initialize Delta Process (with Data Transfer) u2013 Delta Update
Am I right? What is most common method and why?

Once you create Datasource for A flat file extraction then it is file source system specific hence you cont change to Application table source Data source
In info package you can change the source as application server instead of desktop no need to change the DS

When we don't find any standard extractor then we can go for Generic(if i want information sales along with finance information in a data source then generally we dont get standard one hence we can go for generic DS)

for Delta capturing you can use
Timestamp(if the table has time stamp filed so it can stamp the last changed record in that table hence it is easy to get delta based on the time stamp)
Calday- (If the table doesn't have the Timestamp filed then search for Calday where you can stamp the delta based on the date when documents are changed )
Numericpointer : If the table doesn't above both then we go for this option where you can the numeric value change stamp )

Generic datasource nothing but we extracting data directly from the database table without any interface between the application/systems

Once you add the new field to structure(DS) you will get the data as on date onwards not historical data hence what is the concept of setup table ( delta records come from the Delta Que not from the setup table )
If you want histaric data to new field then you need to setp table deletion ...etc...

Extracting delta's with ODP-data source 0MATERIAL_ATTR from SAP ECC

We are using ODP-replication to extract data from SAP ECC to a MS SQL-database by SAP BusinessObjects Data Services.
For extracting Material-data we use the standard data source 0MATERIAL_ATTR in SAP ECC.
This data source delivers a full load with all Materials in it.
In the properties of this data source (tab attributes) we saw that this data source is Delta_Extractor_Capable.
Therefore we set the extraction mode from 'Query' to CDC (= Change Data Capable) and did a new initial load to get all Materials again.
After changing a Material in ECC, we did a delta-load, but unfortunately we received ZERO records.
Is there anyone with experience on extracting delta's with data source 0MATERIAL_ATTR or another standard masterdata data source in ECC?

Delete the Queue in LBWQ/RSA7 and then freshly load Init and Check the Delta.
Once you load the Init then if there are no new records then it won't get any data. so 0 records
Check in SM37 in ECC why the job is terminated. See in ST22 also.

The Generic delta of the Data source is based on Time stamp with Upper Saftey Intreval 1Sec
When i extract delta consutively with 1 Hr gap i am getting an delta evn tough the table is updated with etries

Issue with 0SRM_TD_IV data source delta

Hi experts,
I have an issue with the invoices numbers not updated correctly when one of invoice item is deleted in SRM.
For example:
In SRM:
Invoice number: 50001168
Invoice item : 1, quantity: 30 - deleted ( deletion indicator - x)
Invoice item : 2, quantity: 4
Invoice item : 3, quantity: 7
In standard extractor (0SRM_TD_IV) RSA3 : exactly same as SRM data.
In standard DSO (0SRIV_D3) : only invoice number and invoice item one is present, which suppose to be deleted in BI.
Invoice number: 50001168
Invoice item : 1, quantity: 30
When I did the full repair for this invoice number from SRM. I got all the 3 invoice items. It did not overwrite invoice item 1, which is deleted in SRM. the way it works in SRM is, it didn't delete the invoice item but flaged with the deletion indicator x.
Know every thing look good up to extractor RSA3. what should I do know to fix this issue? I see that we don't have tranformation rules in BI 7.0 insted we are using trnasfer rules and update rule. Please let me know.

Hi Chandu,
The way I understand your issue is that,
when you do a full upload, you get the information correctly in RSA3 and DSO.
when you run a delta, you are not getting all the line items.
1) Please check whether there are any relevant SAP notes for this extractor to fix this delta issue.
2) Please check whether there is any code in the update rule or transfer rule that deletes the missing line item

Generic Data Source - Delta

Hi,
I am trying to extra delta record from generic data source, but I am not getting any record in RSA7.
I have done the following setting for generic delta source
- customized table from VBRK
- Deltas Specific field (ERDAT) - Date on which record was created
- Time Stamp (As i need to run this delta process every one hour)
- Safety interval upper limit = 900 Sec.
- Safety interval lower limit = 0 Sec.
- Additive Delta for target info cube.
Can you please help me to debug this issue.

CRM Data source 0CRM_OPPT_H issue with full update

Hi Gurus!
When I tried to start Full Upload via 0CRM_OPPT_H data source at BW side I faced with issue that
No data available
Diagnosis
The data request was a full update.
In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not
contain any data.
System Response
Info IDoc received with status 8.
Procedure
Check the data basis in the source system.
I have checked the data source via RSA3 at CRM side and can extract 11 entries. The table CRMD_ORDER_INDEX has 39 entries.
What have I done:
1. Activate data source at CRM side in RSA5 and can see it in RSA6
2. Activate BW Adapter Metadata in BWA5
3. Tried to start full uploading at BW side but got error(No data available).
4. Initialized delta-upload and can see active status for 0CRM_OPPT_H in tr. BWA7 at CRM side in active status (Delta active = TRUE, Initial upload = empty).
5. There is no any authorization issues (user has SAP_ALL in both systems)
6. RFC connection between systems is Ok. Extraction via 0CRM_OPPT_I was Ok.
Have you any ideas how to start full uploading for BW via 0CRM_OPPT_H?

Sharepoint 2013 Excel External Data Source Refresh Issue

I have been facing this issue for quite some time now.. i have created an Excel sheet in Excel-13 and have imported data from an external data source [SQL server 2012].
Everything is working fine, with the excel sheet on the desktop. Data refreshes, every-time i open the excel file and also at regular intervals that i have configured in the data source properties.
The problem begins when i save that excel sheet on my sharepoint server. the issues that i am facing are :
1. Changes made into the original data source, are not reflected immediately inside the excel sheet inside the browser. after 5-10 minutes, it reflects the changes..
2. The data doesn't refreshes automatically. After i update my data inside the sql server table, i have to manually trigger the refresh of the data connection when viewing the excel sheet inside the browser, even though i have marked "Refresh when opening
the file", and refresh every 1 minute inside the excel sheet. Any solutions ??
I have been troubled a lot by this issue, and seek for some quick solution.. Any help here ??

I found the solution finally, my self ..
Issue - 1 : It's going to take atleat 5-minutes to refresh the data connection, that is generally not a big time span.
Issue - 2 :
--> Set Your connection to refresh everytime the file is opened. go to internet explorer -> file -> internet options -> general -> Browsing History -> Settings -> Check for newer versions of stored pages... Check 'Every time I visit the
webpage'.
Now everytime i update your original data source, wait for 5-10 minutes and refresh my web page containing the excel sheet.. The Contents of the excel sheet are updated as desired..

How to make enhanced fields of data source delta enabled?

I have a scenario, in which we are using the DS 0CUSTOMER_ATTR to load the master data.There are some fields added to this data source but this fields are not delta enabled. I have tested these fields from R/3 side using BDCP, CDPOS tables. All the fields are writing the changes correctly. But when extracting them using delta they are not capturing.If we load the full,it is capturing all the changes.
So running full load every week is taking more time.
Can any one suggest how to make this fileds delta enabled to capture the change in BW side as well to extract only changed records?
Any help will be greatly appriciated !

HI,
It is not possible to load delta this data. Your datasource only detects changes in the customer table and when any customer has been modified the record is loaded to BW. In this moment the datasource fill the append extructure.
The problem is that if you modifies some record from the append extructure the datasources doesn't detects the changes. When you does a full load you are filling the append extructure for the entire records and it works.
If you want to catch this deltas you should make a delta datasource for CDPOS but depending on the number of records of the tables it won't be possible.
You could check if there is any event to detects the modification and create a delta queue datasource for the append extructure.
Then, you can mix both datasources in a DSO in BW.

SSRS 2008 R2 data source authentication issue

End-users with Browser permissions for the necessary SSRS folders and reports are getting "The permissions denied to user [Windows user] are insufficient for performing this operation (rsAccessDenied)" even though the data source for the report is configured
to use "credentials stored securely in the report server" and "Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source" is checked. Users who are members of the local admin machine hosting the Report Manager site don't get the error. But users with full
control permissions to the SSRS directories, including the config files, do get the error. Obviously, the solution shouldn't entail giving end-users local admin or even full control permissions to the SQL Server SSRS folders. Moreover, the error only
occurs when using Windows credentials but not when using only a database credential, i.e. non Windows credentials. This workaround doesn't work for me since I'm also using a data source connection to SSAS, which doesn't appear to use database logins
- only Windows credentials that are added to roles.
Please advise.

Generally, the error "The permissions denied to user [Windows user] are insufficient for performing this operation (rsAccessDenied)" should be caused
by one of the following reasons:
1. User Access Control (UAC). Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 limit the overuse of elevated permissions by removing administrator permissions
when accessing applications. Because the operating system removes permissions, members of the local Administrators group run most applications as if they are using the Standard User account.
If this issue is caused by UAC, please run Internet Explorer as administrator. From the Start menu, click All Programs, right-click Internet Explorer,
and select Run as administrator. For more information about UAC, please refer to this document:

2. User has insufficient permissions to perform the operation. Please check the following items:
a. End-users belong to "Browser" role. In Report Manager Home page, click "Folder Settings", make sure the end-users are in the security list and with
Browser role permission.
b. "Browser" role has permissions to perform the operation. You can use SSMS to connect to report server, expand Security/Roles, double click "Browser",
and then check the tasks list.

Generic Data Source delta is not extracted

There is a problem in extracting the delta records using Generic Data Source. Delta records ( New / Modified records ) are not posted in the RSA7.
I'll Explain you the Scenario I have done. Created a generic data source in R/3 using view. In the view there is a field Sales Order No. I have enabled the delta update for this field. In the generic delta i have chosen delta type as Numeric pointer.
Extracted the entire record using full update and after initializing the Delta, it extracts the delta record well ie. it only extracts the sequence of Sale Order No. First I extracted nine records(i.e 10001 to 10009) using full update. again I entered a record in underlying table with sale order no as 10011-10013. It extracts those records into BW system. Then again I made an entry in the table with sales order no 10010. But the record is not extracted. Even though I tried of specifying safety lower limit as -3. Still it not extracting the record(10010).
And what if I posted a value of sale order 10014 with the same. what should I do?? Help on this plz.

I followed this in my scenario. But I don't understand why it is not extracting? even I specified the safety limit of upper and lower values in the generic delta.
Here the below explanation shows that the delta record can be extracted even if the pointer value is greater than the posted value.
Numeric pointer (last extracted value 10011; Data in underlying table (Max value = 10025) )
Data would be extracted from a min-value of 10010 (lower limit adjusts the last counter 10011 by specified value u2013 1)
max-value of 10020 (after adjustment for upper safety limit u2013 by 5). The current pointer would now indicate 10020 in
RSA7.

JDBC Data Sources: Potential Issue with JDeveloper 10.1.3.4

I think I found a bug or issue with the latest JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 release when using JDBC Data Sources on the Embedded OC4J container.
To state the issule bluntly, If I use a JDBC Data Source in an ADF Faces application, I get the following error on the screen when I run my application if I create a simple page using a Form layout for database data:

It must be something on your side. i just tried the same thing using the employees table from the HR sample schema (it has a date column). It works with JDBC URL and datasource both.
Just out of curiosity - if you look at the properties for your Business Components project at the business components section, what does it show for the SQL Flavor and Type Map?

Generic data source delta setting

Dear All,
We have a custom table created in ECC system as per the scree shot. Period(ZMonth) is the only time related field in the table.
Questsion is how to set the delta settings in the generic data source as shown below.
What should be the correct setting for delta to work?

how the delta records changes are applying. only creating new records or changes are applying on old records too?
ifs its only new records are entering source we can consider numeric pointer delta method.
as per the presented fields at your data source level, there is no option to handle delta loads thru timestamp or calday.
other option is , Use dso in your data flow before the info cube.
so we can load daily full load to psa and dso, from dso to cube we can make delta settings.

Safety inteval is nothing but for ex you have updated your data from R/3 to bw at 11 am If client want the data in between 11.1min to 11.4min the records which are going to present in between the 1 min to 4 min that records only can updated if and ony if your data source is going to make as an generic delta.
