!oerr ora oracle_error ...????

Hi ,
I have found in a Tom's Kyte book the following:
ops$tkyte@ORA10GR1> !oerr ora 1743
01743, 00000, "only pure functions can be indexed"
// *Cause: The indexed function uses SYSDATE or the user environment.
// *Action: PL/SQL functions must be pure (RNDS, RNPS, WNDS, WNPS). SQL
// expressions must not use SYSDATE, USER, USERENV(), or anything
// else dependent on the session state. NLS-dependent functions
// are OK.When i tried to reproduce it in my DB10g. v2 in sqlplus i got the error...:
SP2-0734....
Is this because it is depreciated in v2 of 10g db ..., or something else...???
Thanks...

  • What is the equavalent of  "oerr -ORA   #####"  in DB6?

    Hi!
In Oracle , any Oracle error is linked to a code like ORA-12345 or SQL-12345.
    We can therefore use command
    oerr -ORA 12345
    or
    oerr -SQL 12345
to get the long text and quick fix for this error.
What is the equavalent of above command in DB6?
    Thanks!

    hi,
the db2 equivalent is the command
    db2 "? SQL####"  (for example 'db2 "? SQL0911"').

  • Getting OERR: ORA 12705 error when trying to connect.

I have tomcat running on red hat and I'm trying to connect to a remote server running Oracle 10g using a thin driver. But I keep getting this error when I try to connect. I've tried setting NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8, NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.US7ASCII, and NLS_LANG=.
I'm not doing any ALTER SESSIONS. I wrote a test app and all it does is connect and does 1 simple select query.

Unset it on the client and try again.

  • Ora-00604 error while taking tkprof of a trace file

Sorry i am giving the full erro but omitting exact table names
    Hi ,
I have an error while taking tkprof of a trace file.
I gave the following command ---
    tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela explain= /
    error is --
Error in create table of EXPLAIN PLAN table : unix_session_user.prof$paln_table
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-20001: Step-6:DDL

    ORA-06512: at line 162
    ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled
    user-defined exception
    EXPLAIN PLAN option disabled.
i searched for the error and in oracle forum i found a solution .. http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=844287&tstart=0
but after giving the table option it is giving the same error
    tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela table=old_schema.plan_table explain= /
it again gave the same error.
In both two cases it gives elapsed time results, library cache missing etc but before giving this it throws ORA-00604 error as stated above
then i again correct the tkprof statement ..
    tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela table=new_schema.plan_table explain= /
say this schema name here i used is dummy schema name.
My question is did this error came as we had not sufficient previlages in the old_schema but that previleges we have in new_schema?
    My databse version is 9.2.0.4.0
    Thanks in advance

Please post here full error message, there should be lines with ORA-00604 and then some other ORA as well.
And are there any trace files generated during this error?
And as You can see from error description, probably You will have to contact with Oracle support in order to solve this case:
    oerr ora 00604

// can be corrected, do so; otherwise contact Oracle Support.

  • Ora-00604 error while runing script

    Hi Guys..
    Let me describe the environment
My OS is windows 2008 R2 server 64-bit.. Database version is Oracle 11gR2
I recently upgraded the oracle DB from 11gr1 to 11gr2 .It upgraded successfully without any errors and the updated DB on 11gr2 is working fine..
Now one of the employee is getting below errror while executing a script which calles a plsql package.
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-00001: unique constraint (SYS.I_PLSCOPE_SIG_IDENTIFIER$) violated
I googled around and found that its related to plscope_settings parameter..
    select name,value  from  v$parameter where name = 'plscope_settings';
    the output was IDENTIFIERS:NONE
Further investigations revealed that my DB is running with the (default) init-parameter “plscope_settings=IDENTIFIERS:NONE”, while my SQL-Developer (v3.0) started every session with the default-setting “plscope_settings=IDENTIFIERS:ALL” (see menu EXTRAS>PREFERENCES>DATABASE>PL/SQL-COMPILER).
so i changed the settings to NONE in Sql Developer too..then recompiled the package but the error is still there when i execute the same package..
Its high time..i need to resolve it over the weekend..so can u plz share ur valuable comments..
Let me if u want any info from my end so that u get more clearer about the prob...
