Office 2007 Installation Issue

I was working with a faculty member this morning who had
Office 2007 installed under Windows XP. When we ran the installer
it gave an error message that we had to install Powerpoint first.
Is there any workaround for this?

  • Office 2007 installer run everytime i open excel only

Ok, I need some help on this one. I have office 2007 pro installed on a
terminal server for a couple of years now with no problems. The other day one
of the users called and says that the installer program open every time they
open excel. I logged in and sure enough it runs. When I open word, pp or
outlook, the installer does not run. When I look at the event log I get two
event errors, an event id 1001 and 1004. Below is the one I think that might be
    causing the problem.
This is the event id 1001. Detection of product
    '{90120000-0012-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature 'EXCELFiles' failed during
    request for component '{0638C49D-BB8B-4CD1-B191-052E8F325736}'
This is the event id 1004. Detection of product
    '{90120000-0012-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature 'EXCELFiles', component
    '{8BE509B9-BD83-4EEF-99C1-8F6EF615B8FB}' failed. The resource 'C:\Program
    Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART\' does not exist.
I tried to run the repair utility under add/remove programs and I still get
this error. After the install runs, excel opens fine and keeps opening until I
log out of the server then log back in after a period of time. I have not
uninstalled and reinstalled office yet. But what I’ve read so far on some of
the other forums is reinstalling is not the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SO FAR, SO GOOD.  I THINK I HAVE IT SOLVED
    ok,
I think that i have finally solved this issue after talking with another tech friend of mine.  When I look at the event look it says this everytime I open excel
'C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART\' does not exist.  When I drill down in the "C" drive, sure enought there is no XLSTART file or folder.  After I let the install configuration run, it adds this
a folder called XLSTART and after I close excel and log out the folder dissappears.  So, I let the install configuration run again and rename the XLSTART folder to XLSTART_OLD.  I log out and then log back in.  When I open excel the install
configuration runs again, but after I log out and then back it, the install configuration does not run anymore.  I think that the XLSTART folder was corrupt and it just needed to install a new one.  So far my theory has proved correct, because I
have logged in and out of the Terminal Server and opened excel a dozen or so times yesterday and it open with no problems.  I just tried to open excel again about two minutes ago, and it is still working fine.  I hope that anyone who is having
a similar issue can use this information
    Thanks.

  • Microsoft Office 2007 - Installation

    Hello All
I would like to know what are the exact component that needs to be tested, when I install MS Office 2007. Would there any impact on BI side, I mean BEX, WAD etc.. All these tools would work as normal ?, or is there any additional patches that needs to be downloaded ?
Thanks and I appreciate your quick response as always.
    BI

Since Excel is the starting point for BEx Analyzer, Excel 2007 would need to be tested. In BEx Web, if you have Excel as a save as option for queries, you will need to test that too. It also requires that the .NET Framework 3.0 be on the end user machine.

  • About ms office 2007 installation

while installing ms office 2007 service pack 3 on windows 7 32 bit it is showing no product is affected by this package installed on this system.
give me a solution to install it.

Excel 2000 is not supported anymore. I don't think it is an error message coming from BPC7.5
I suppose you didn't install BPC 7.5 client or the client which you try to install is not the right one.
Did you try to install the client from Web page (Clien Software Center link?)
Your configuration XP with Office 2007 (if Excel was installed also) it is fine like prerequisite for SAP BPC client 7.5.
So please check if you are trying to install the right kit.
(For me it seems you are trying to install a client 4.x or 5.x).

  • Office 2013 installation issues

I had an Office 365 subscription on my computer and then i got a license for office 2013 standard (volume licensing) for work purposes though still using the same laptop.
I have uninstalled the 365 but i am not able to install either the 64 or 32 bit version of the software on my 64bit machine.
I have tried all the Fixits to no avail.
Can someone pls help with this?

    Hi,
Would you please detail "i am not able to install either the 64 or 32 bit version of the software on my 64bit machine" a little bit? What's the symptom?
If there's any error message please let me know.
You can try installing in Clean Boot Mode, this determines if this is background programs related:

  • Sharepoint 2007, Office 2007, and 64-bit Internet Explorer support

    Hi All,
I have an issue editing documents on our SharePoint 2007 intranet.  When using 64-bit IE, and when I choose "Edit in Microsoft Office Word" I get the following error:   ‘Edit Document’ requires a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible application and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater.    This does not happen with 32-bit IE.
I am working on deploying Windows 7 and I am seeing this on a clean installation of Windows 7 Enterprise x64.  The only software I am installing is Office Enterprise 2007.  The Office 2007 installation includes the Office Tools > Windows SharePoint Services Support.   Installing SP1 and SP2 for Office does not fix the problem.   I can duplicate this on multiple computers.
I know 64-bit IE is a level 2 supported browser according to this article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263526.aspx ), but shouldn't editing documents be allowed for it?   Perhaps I am misinterpreting the article somehow?   If this is the case, could someone point out where I am going wrong?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Thanks but copying the dll over and restarting IE also did not work.  I also restarted the computer to be sure.  I tried these additional things:
I tried re-registering the dll but I got this error:  The module "owssupp.dll" was loaded but the call DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070716.
I also removed the dll and ran the Microsoft Office Diagnostics utility.  It found and corrected one problem (it added the dll back), but this did not fix my problem.
To elaborate more, I noticed that I CAN check out a document and then use the "Edit in Microsoft Word" link to open the document.  However, when I try to save the document, SharePoint thinks the document is read-only.  So there is still some compatibility issues going on there.
So I did some more digging and although I couldn't find it documented, the feature that allows this to work is an ActiveX control.  I compared the browser add-ons in the 32bit version of IE to the 64 bit version and what would you know, the add-ons (SharePointOpenDocuments and SharePoint Stssync Handler - both controlled by owssupp.dll) were not part of the browser... and there didn't appear a way to install them.
According to the document I linked in my original post, ActiveX controls are not supported in level 2 browsers such as 64 bit Internet Explorer... it could be this is one of the ActiveX controls that is not supported.  For now that is my answer unless anyone else has more ideas.

  • Office 2010 installation - Error 1618

We are currently trying to upgrade our Office 2007 installs to 2010 using SCCM.
I made a package out of Office 2010 with SP1 integrated, and am deploying it with the command line
    setup /adminfile c:\x\upgrade.msp /config c:\x\upgrade.xml
SCCM is configured to download packages to the local hard disk before executing them.
Now, on all test machines, and about 70% of production machines, this works as expected. The setup runs, returns with a 3010 "Reboot Required" value and the PC reboots. After that, Office is upgraded and works.
On 30% of production machines however a variation of the following error happens:
    Executing chained package: OfficeMUISet.en-us
Not showing message because suppress modal has been set. Title: 'Setup', Message: 'Another install is currently in progress. Press 'Retry' when the install is finished or 'Cancel' to cancel setup.'
The setup then cancels, tries to rollback itself, but fails doing that with the same "The uninstallation appears to have failed because another MSI operation was taking place." errors, then fails completely and exits with an error code 1618
    The full log is here.
    Part 1: http://pastebin.com/AtwYSHA8
    Part 2: http://pastebin.com/EES9Hsfp
After that, there are Office 2010 shortcuts in the start menu, but no application can be started due to missing DLL errors. Office 2010 then has to be uninstalled with the MS Fixit 50450 tool and reinstalled.
There is no common quality among the PCs that fail this. Some are XP, others are Vista. Some are English language, others are German, French or Italian.
After this happened the first time, I changed the installation so that the PCs would always do a reboot before the installation, but this didn't help anything. To me it seems that the Office setup itself tries to chain two msiexecs at the same time - or
tries to start one before the last one finishes properly. Is there a way to prevent this?

    Hey there,
I've having the same problem on my deployment environment.  We are deploying Windows 7 Enterprise using SCCM and the UDI task sequence by MDT.  In UDI, I have Office 2010 with SP2 integrated to install.  I've done a blast test of 10 machines
being imaged all at once and so far 8 of the 10 are successful installing office 2010 with sp2.
The other two machines, i went looking through the SCCM logs.  CAS.log shows that the office 2010 package was downloaded completely.  I then looked in the setup.log in C:\Windows\temp where the office install logs are found and noticed this.
    Executing chained package: OutlookMUI.en-us
Not showing message because suppress modal has been set.  Title: 'Setup', Message: 'Another install is currently in progress. Press 'Retry' when the install is finished or 'Cancel' to cancel setup.'
    Message returned: 2
Error: User canceled install due to MSI service being busy. Type: 90::UserCancel.
Log level changed from: Standard to: Verbose
    Rolling back chain
    Rolling back package: OutlookMUI.en-us
There appears to be no rollback work to do for package: OutlookMUI.en-us path:
    C:\WINDOWS\ccmcache\f\Outlook.en-us\OutlookMUI.MSI
It looks like msiexec.exe is being used up by another program.  Initially I was getting this a lot and then I moved my McAfee agent and Altiris agent install outside of the install application step.  That seemed to give me 80% success rate on deploying
    office.
Now the awkward thing is that all my other applications installs just fine.  This office installs first and is then followed by MS Project and MS Visio.  Office fails with the error above but afterwards, SCCM executes MS Project with sp2 and MS
Visio with sp2 and they install just fine.  This makes me believe that office 2010 is
A.) Stumbling upon each of its own .msi files
B.) another background app is still being installed when it gets to office.
I find it hard to believe the latter because I've troubleshot all my other apps and they install just fine.  I even had task manager going in the background to detect new services installing and still no go.  Now i noticed that I have "Suppress
Modal" turned on.  I am wondering if I can enable that and then see if Office will give me that prompt to "Retry" and not instantly fail the install.

  • Issue Combining Files with Office 2007

I have Office 2007 and Adobe Pro  9.4.4 with a Windows 7, 64-bit OS.  Until this morning, I experienced no issues combining different file formats (WORD, Excel, PDF, etc.) into a single PDF file.  After running an Adobe update, I get an error message "Missing PDFMaker files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"  Any suggestions to correct this issue would be gratefully received.

    Hi RKitchin,
Please enumerate the Office document formats you are facing problem with.
Additionally, could you please check if the Acrobat PDFMaker add-in is loaded in the Office application(s) in question, this can be done as follows:
    <<Say for Excel>>
    - Excel 2003 or below:
Launch Excel , go to Help > About Microsoft Excel > Add-Ins and check for the state of Acrobat PDFMaker. If unloaded, check it or if disabled revert it back to enabledstate using the MANAGE option and then restarting Excel.
    - Excel 2007 or above:
Launch Excel , go to File >Options > Add-Ins and check for the state of Acrobat PDFMaker. If unloaded, check it or if disabled revert it back to enabled state using the MANAGE option and then restarting Excel.
If yes, the PDFMaker options are visible in the ribbon/toolbar, please see if the issue replicates with:
    <<Say for Excel>>
    - Launch Excel > Open the workbook > Convert to Adobe PDF.
    - Launch Acrobat > Create PDF from file > Choose an Excel workbook.
    Thanks!

  • How to automatcally uninstall Office 2007 32 bit for installation of Office 2010 64 bit

I have an MSP that will automatically install my companies 64 bit version of Office 2010 provided Office 2007 32 bit is already uninstalled. However, the option to uninstall previous versions of Office does not work in the MSP. We have Office 2007 32 bit
currently installed and whenever I run the MSP I receive the following: "Setup Error You cannot install the 64 bit version of the Office 2010 because you have 32 bit Office products installed."
Is there a way to automatically remove Office 2007 using the MSP or some other method? Thanks.
    Wedgies

What are you creating your MSP with?  I'm thinking that because you're calling the Office 64bit setup routine, that one of the first checks it does before it even processes your config.xml file is to check for previous versions installed, and it hits
the 32bit wall and stops.  What you should probably do is create a package that has two routines in it.  First process the uninstall of Office 2007 32bit, and once that's done process the Office 64 bit installation.  You could do this with a
package created by Installshield or Wise and some logic to process Step 1 (Remove Office 32bit) and then upon success of that process Step 2 (Office 64bit Install).
On a different note...is there a business requirement that you have for the 64Bit version of office?  If not...I don't think this is all worth the headache, unless you specifically need umpteen million rows of data in Excel, and the machines you're
deploying on have more than 4GB of RAM....just my opinion...
Also, I'm not sure this is a volume activation question though you might get more responses from the Setup and Deployment forum

    Hope this helps,

    Hello Bhatt,
Most probably your PC was corrupted by the Dell software you downloaded. First of all, I'd recommend contacting the Dell support service representative. Also you can try to re-install Office.
Finally, I'd recommend asking such question on the
Microsoft Community forum instead. The current forum is for Office developers.

  • Office 2007 COA Package Licensing Issue

I have a customer who has a Vista PC that required mobo/hdd replacement. OS install and updates went as expected; when I installed Office 2007 Professional from the original media that the client received, it prompted for a 25 digit key as expected. The
bubble wrapped Microsoft envelope the customer received from the original supplier (no longer in business natch) contained a rather extensive complement of media and was marked on the outside as COA 00039205461529 and contained a couple of official Microsoft
stickers labeled with the aforementioned COA 00039205461529 as well.
When these digits were entered the licensing dialog rejected them; what am I/my client missing here? Based on Pierre Romans comments on Windows 10 at iTech Vancouver, I just finished convincing the client to wait for Windows 10 and the next version of Office
before doing a company-wide desktop refresh. I really need a cheap, fast solution to this issue to retain my (and MSFT's for that matter) credibility.
Thanks in advance for any assistance....

    Hi,
Since you’ve changed your mobo/hdd, you need to activate Office again by inputting product key. The COA is a sticker or a label that is attached to the retail packaging for products such as Windows, Office, or Windows Server. It’s not
    the Office product key.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/howtotell/Software.aspx
If your product key is lost, you have to contact Microsoft customer service center to ask for key. And you need provide a valid purchasing proof.

  • Office 2007 Virtualization - Word Issues

    Hello,
I am trying to virtualize Office 2007. I have been installing each
application separately and then create the virtual app. Excel and
PowerPoint work fine however, with Word I get a message at startup saying
the Office is installing or configuring Word. It does this when you close
    the application as well.
Has anyone run into this issue? Is there a better way to virtualize Office
2007 so you can run each app separately?
    Thanks,
    Ron

Since Zenworks only creates the one executable though how do you separate
the icons or specify which app to run (ie. Word, Excel...). I am not
    distributing these using Zenworks.
