Office 2010 Administrative Templates - Missing Policies

I have an Office 2010 GPO that needs to enable a policy called "Disable username and password" located at:
Computer Configuration --> Admistrative Templates --> Microsoft Office 2010 (Machine) --> IE Settings
It seems that policy, and any policy that should be there, does not exist.
I have added the admistrative template (.adm) files  for the Office 2010 32-bit version. I have even added the .admx files to \\mydomain\sysvol\mydomain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions as well as added .adml files to "" ""\en-us.
Is there a step that I missed? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Jasmin

Hi Jasmin,
Before going further, I want to confirm where we got the administrative template files. Besides, we can follow the path of the central store to open
the admx file of Office 2010 to check whether some files are missing.
Regarding Administrative Template files for Office 2010, the following article can be referred to for more information.
Office 2010 Administrative Template files (ADM, ADMX, ADML) and Office Customization Tool

In addition, we can try downloading the files from the following link.

  • Office 2013 Administrative Templates & GPO

    Hey, everyone!
I’m sure someone here will know what I’m doing wrong, so hopefully it’s something simple.
This is my first attempt to utilize Office 2013 Administrative Templates in a GPO. I downloaded the templates from Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35554)
    and extracted them.
I then created a new GPO so that the policy folder was created in logonserver\sysvol\%userdnsdomain%\policies\Adm.
In that folder, I copy the appropriate .admx files and the en-us folder.
Then, when I go to edit that GPO, I get an error:
The following error has occurred in \\Hudsonchapel.org\SysVol\Hudsonchapel.org\Policies\<GUID>\Adm\proj15.admx on line 1: Error
    51 Unexpected keyword.
    Found <?xml
    Expected: CLASS, CATEGORY,
    [strings]
The file can not be loaded.
This occurs for any .admx file I’ve tried.
I’m not sure what else to try. I’ve followed what I know to do.
Could someone help me figure out what I’m doing wrong?
    Thanks!
    -Eric

    Hi Eric,
    >>I then created a new GPO so that the policy folder was created in logonserver\sysvol\%userdnsdomain%\policies\Adm.
    In that folder
How is it going? Did we follow the article provided by Zanderol24 to create the Central Store for admx files? The location of central store is:
    %systemroot%\sysvol\domain\policies\PolicyDefinitions

  • Using SharePoint 2013 Document Library for Office 2010 Workgroup Templates

    Dear all,
we are about to introduce SharePoint 2013 and are looking for a way to use it as location for our Office 2010 workgroup templates. But when I try to configure it with in Word options it tells me that URLs are not allowed here.
I've searched this forum but saw no thread that has a solution so far.
So I just want to know if anyone implemented this feature or even has an idea that could work...
    Thank you in advance,
    Uwe

    Hi,
Based on my tested in my environment ( Word 2010 & Share Point 2013), we can't point to the SharePoint library URL directly with Workgroup Templates.
    Please try the workaround:
Sync the SharePoint site libraries to local disk.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/sync-onedrive-for-business-or-sharepoint-site-libraries-to-your-computer-HA102832401.aspx
Set the Workgroup Template to a local drive (to create the reg key)
Open regedit and set the location to the mapped drive:
    Setting Name: SharedTemplates (Type REG_SZ)
    Reg Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\General

  • Office 2013 Administrative Template files (ADMX/ADML) and Office Customization Tool

When I download the Office 2013 Admin Template files (ADMX/ADML) and OCT I get 3 files. Admin, AMDX and a excel spreadsheet. Is the Admin
folder the ADML folder? Reason I ask is b/c I'm trying to disable the Offie 2013 Startup screen via GPO and I have been directed to save the ADMX to %systemroot%PolicyDefinitions and ADML to %systemroot%PolicyDefinitions\en-us
on my base image that I am creating so obviously the ADMX is straight forward, but not the ADML since all I see is Admin. thanks,
    SSC

    Hi,
When you downloaded an Office Administrative Template files, please extract them to your driver, say
D:\.  You need to copy all .admx file under D:\..\ADMX folder into
    %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions. It’s a root-level folder, which contains all language-neutral ADMX files.
Then please copy all .adml files under D:\...\ADML\en-us into
%systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions\EN-US. This subfolder contains the language-specific ADML resource files. You can create subfolder of %systemroot\PolicyDefinitions for each language that you will use.
For how to load the Administrative Template files, please follow the instructions for "Loading the ADMX templates" in Use Group Policy to enforce Office 2010 settings:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179081.aspx . Although the article is for Office 2010, the Administrative Templates information also applies to Office 2013.

  • Office 2010 from template

Just downloaded the eval version of 9.0.1 to try it out.
I figured I'd start with something easy, from a Template. Office 2010 seemed like a good candidate.
I installed Office 2010 on a clean machine, then generated the virtual app using the template.
But when I launch the .exe (even on the same machine where I created it), I get "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 - The application was unable to load a required component: MSVCR90.DLL. Please contact the publisher of this application for more information."
    Any ideas?

  • Office 2010 Workgroup Templates

    Dear Community,
We are currently having an issue where the clients are closing outlook and reciving a popup to save NormalEmail.dotm.
The users do not have a normalemail.dotm file located under %appdata%\Microsoft\templates folder and when we add the file there this issue seems to disappear.
the users workgroup templates in winword is an FQDN (\\Server\Share\) and not a mapped drive.
Could someone please answer the following questions
    1. is the normalemail.dotm file loaded from the user templates path or the workgroup templates path?
    2. does the user require write access permissions to the folder that the normalemail.dotm is located ?
    3. is normalemail.dotm required in %appdata%\microsoft\templates ?

  • Office Administrative Template installation with 32 and 64 bits clients

    Hello,
I would like to install the Office Administrative Templates (2007, 2010, 2013) but I don't really understand how.
I have several clients computers :
-Windows XP and 7 (the XP will disappear but not now so I have to handle with)
    - 32 and 64 bits (OS and associate Office version)
    - two Office languages (English and French)
In this case, what I have to put in the domain controllers (or in the central store for GPO, not matters), to cover all the cases ?
I do not understand the x86 or x64 Office administrative templates versions neither how the languages are managed.
    Thanks a lot.

The Office2013 Admin Templates+OCT is available in both 32bit and 64bit formats
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35554
Because the download contains the Templates *and* the OCT (OPAX/OPAL and various DLLs etc), and, the OCT itself and also the OCT output file (a customization MSPfile) is architecture-specific, that is why there is a 32bit and a 64bit download.
The ADMX/ADML files themselves, are not architecture-specific.
ADMX and OPAX, is language-neutral, the language-specific details are contained within ADML/OPAL.

  • Acrobat X Pro + Office 2010: missing text fields

    Win7/64
    Using the PDF printer
    Hi,
very strange problem: simple TIF file (tried different bitmap formats) in a Word 2010 document (graphic before text) and a simple textfield -- not more.
Printing as PDF (with various settings) -- but the text(field) is missing in the PDF output.
Same behaviour in Acrobat Pro 9 and Office 2010.
With Word 2003 I did not have such annoying problems...
Can anybody help me? I'm trying and trying and ...
    Carlos

Problem seems to occur more often: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/838524
And I am having it too on Adobe Standard 9.4.4.
Text in text box from Word 2010 is not output in PDF (even not hidden). The text box background is copied over in the PDF. Reproducible. And if I put multiple text boxes on each other, sometimes a few or parts of characters appear.
I find Microsoft Save as PDF not an option, it has numerous worse bugs. Good to know that the problems also appears with Acrobat X. That save me an upgrade to test whether it has been solved by a newer release.

  • Office 2010 : PDF Maker Pane is missing in ribbon

    Hi,
After upgrading from MICROSOFT Office 2007 to 2010, I notice that PDF Maker is missing in Office Ribbon.
I tried Repairing & Reinstalling ADOBE Acrobat 9.0 (+ Update to 9.3.2) but still the same problem.
    Another try :
Fresh install of Windows XP SP3 + Office 2010 Pro + Acrobat 9.0 + Acrobat Update to 9.2.0 + Acrobat Update to 9.3.2
    Same Problem
COM Addin is active but PDF Maker Pane is missing in Office 2010 Ribbon.
I tried soluce in article 330984 (kb) but without success.
... so is Acrobat PDF Maker Addin is compatible with Office 2010 Pro (Word, Excel, ...) ?
Is there a fix or should I wait next patch from ADOBE ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    @Pramod Sarma
I've updated my Acrobat to 9.3.4, rebooted my system, I see the Add-in under Options> Add-ins>  Active Application Add-ins and can choose it under COM Add-Ins.  BUT  it does NOT show up in the Menu Bar of the Program Word, Excel, etc.  No Tab, No nothing.  Its still doesn't work.
Does anyone have a trick to reactivate it somehow?
AND by the way,  YOU CAN select Save-As and Select PDF and it works JUST fine!  I just did it.
Also, as fix for all of you that say we are whining about not having the PDF maker "QUICK" links in the menu-bar, YES you can click File>Print and choose PDF to print to as well.
It would just be nice to have a ONE-CLICK option back.
    Thanks!
SO, to RECAP... you can do the Two or Three Click options of PRINT and choose PDF or you can do SAVE-AS and choose PDF.... BUT again it would be nice to have a working ONE Click option.  Thank you again

I want to specific a template that shows on office application. in example i want to show only "Do not reply" template on Outlook and only "view and print" Template on Word. I use Microsoft Office 2010 SP2
Can i do that? if there is unable, can you tell me why?
    Thanks & Regards

I'll give you the outlines then you can go ahead
Open the template (XML file) then check the syntax to make it public and change it )
then go to GPO and apply it to the users to need
this is the answer as I thought your question

  • XL Reporter & templates in Office 2010

I'm having troubles with opening XL Reporter reports using a pre-defined .xlt template in Office 2010.
In the Report Composer -> Generate -> select the report.  -> Action -> Generate Report -> tick the 'Use Excel Template' tick box.  Click OK.
A window pops open & I can see my .xlt template, click Ok & I get an error message saying "...".xlt' could not be found.  Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct...'.
Do these xlt templates need to be in a special place for XL Reporter to use them?  I have been creating the templates & just saving them in the default location.
    We are running 2007A (8.00.181) SP:00 PL: 47.

xltx is the extension for Excel 2010 templates.  xlt is the extension for 2003 Excel templates.
I saved the template as .xlt & it seemed to work, so thanks for that.  However I understood that XL Reporter was compatible with Excel 2010?  Obviously we can open 2003 Excel files in 2010, but then we loose some of the 2010 functionality which is unfortunate.
Are the any updates to XL Reporter or SBO that would solve this (eg SBO 2008?)?
anyway thanks again - we have a work around that will suffice for now.

  • Missing Administrative Templates in Group Policy Tree.

Few days ago,I found administrative plateform missing which supposed to be listed under GPO.Meanwhile, GPO reports correctly. I did attempt to registy 'gptext.dll' and success following the suggestion, but it didn't work. And it seems the
'gptext.dll' could be registy repeatly without error. What exactly happened? What real actions i need to do?
(Based on Windows Server2012 R2 Domain Controller)

    Hi,
In my point of view, we can first to check if these Administrative Templates exist. So as Zanderol24 said, did you create central store? if you have created central store, make sure these Administrative
Templates are existed in central store. If you have not created central store, make sure these Administrative Templates are located in PolicyDefinitions folder.
If these Administrative Templates are exist in your central store or PolicyDefinitions folder, we can try to import these Administrative Templates manually.

    Hi,
We need to check the templates in the path: C:\Users\martinr\AppData\Local\Microsoft\DRM\Templates
    first.
Then, if you use 32-bit editions of Office running on 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows, please try the following command:

Following this, I recommond do the two methods:
The permission policy path in the ADMX file is setup to use EDITTEXT (Regular Reg_sz), instead of EXPANDABLETEXT (REg_Expand_Sz).
The policy template is setup out of the box expects a static path (i.e. c:\templates, and cannot use %localappdata%\Microsoft\DRM\Templates)
