Office 2010 from template

Just downloaded the eval version of 9.0.1 to try it out.
I figured I'd start with something easy, from a Template. Office 2010 seemed like a good candidate.
I installed Office 2010 on a clean machine, then generated the virtual app using the template.
But when I launch the .exe (even on the same machine where I created it), I get "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 - The application was unable to load a required component: MSVCR90.DLL. Please contact the publisher of this application for more information."
Any ideas?

  • Using SharePoint 2013 Document Library for Office 2010 Workgroup Templates

    Dear all,
we are about to introduce SharePoint 2013 and are looking for a way to use it as location for our Office 2010 workgroup templates. But when I try to configure it with in Word options it tells me that URLs are not allowed here.
I've searched this forum but saw no thread that has a solution so far.
So I just want to know if anyone implemented this feature or even has an idea that could work...
    Thank you in advance,
    Uwe

    Hi,
Based on my tested in my environment ( Word 2010 & Share Point 2013), we can't point to the SharePoint library URL directly with Workgroup Templates.
    Please try the workaround:
Sync the SharePoint site libraries to local disk.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/sync-onedrive-for-business-or-sharepoint-site-libraries-to-your-computer-HA102832401.aspx
Set the Workgroup Template to a local drive (to create the reg key)
Open regedit and set the location to the mapped drive:
    Setting Name: SharedTemplates (Type REG_SZ)
    Reg Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\General

  • Office 2010 Administrative Templates - Missing Policies

I have an Office 2010 GPO that needs to enable a policy called "Disable username and password" located at:
Computer Configuration --> Admistrative Templates --> Microsoft Office 2010 (Machine) --> IE Settings
It seems that policy, and any policy that should be there, does not exist.
I have added the admistrative template (.adm) files  for the Office 2010 32-bit version. I have even added the .admx files to \\mydomain\sysvol\mydomain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions as well as added .adml files to "" ""\en-us.
Is there a step that I missed? Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jasmin

    Hi Jasmin,
Before going further, I want to confirm where we got the administrative template files. Besides, we can follow the path of the central store to open
the admx file of Office 2010 to check whether some files are missing.
Regarding Administrative Template files for Office 2010, the following article can be referred to for more information.

  • Office 2010 from pc to mac? possible?

Ok so i have been a windows user for years, i recently decided to purchase a mac. so far so good but i was wondering if its possible to transfer the microsoft office 2010 license to my mac without having to purchase the software again. I wont be using office on the pc anymore. and even if i do i have 2 licenses.
i called microsoft but their only answer is basically to purchase office for mac.(i expected this answer since they want to make the money)
maybe someone knows how to do this. maybe its just not possible. please comment.

The response is accurate. If you want to dedicate to Mac moving forward it would not hurt to call MSoft and ask if you can "surrender" your Windows version and pay (or for free) get a Mac Copy. Sometimes they are very friendly at these companies. This worked with Adobe for me when move Acrobat Pro from Win to Mac.
I am very spoiled with Office at my age unfortunately so the open source programs simply don't appeal to me. I pray for the day that Apple's offering of Pages, Keynote, and Numbers are so fluid I can dump M$ yet still waiting for that.

But cuz of it doesnt work on portable devices we decide to cancel that project.
But now problem is my clients office programs still tries to connect my old server.
    i was tried that http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/7697.ad-rms-troubleshooting-reset-the-client.aspx
article but every time i delete DRM folder contents and other registry keys, every time when any office program opens recreates that old server parameters. and office not able to use restrict permissions. I was checked 3 times already all my gpo s (maybe
it took it from gpo ) but not there too
If any one has any idea could be perfect.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you registered SCP during ADRMS installation?
You can view if SCP is still registered in your AD Forest/Domain using ADSI Edit or LDP. Connect to the configuration container in ADSI Edit and navigate the following nodes: CN=Configuration [server name], CN=Services, CN=RightsManagementServices, CN=SCP.
If it is still registered, use DScpRegister.exe tool included in the RMS Administration Toolkit to remove it.

    Hello,
    my self manan patel
    i have bought new laptop on january ( Intel 2nd Gen Core i5 i5-2410M / 2.3 GHz )
by mistake i have uninstalled microsoft office 2010
kindly help me that how can i activate again...
    looking for help...
    thanks in advance

your MS office must be a starter edition which is a promo pack by Microsoft. there is no re-installation allowed for this pack, its one time install only and for test and experiance. if you like it, you need to buy full version from Microsoft.com.
if you purchased full MSoffice with machine(its written on the box if its full or starter only); you get the option to re-install it using media shipped with computer. try visiting HP recovery manager and select application installation. if you have full version, possiblity of option available there to re-install it again.

  • Office 2010 Workgroup Templates

    Dear Community,
We are currently having an issue where the clients are closing outlook and reciving a popup to save NormalEmail.dotm.
The users do not have a normalemail.dotm file located under %appdata%\Microsoft\templates folder and when we add the file there this issue seems to disappear.
the users workgroup templates in winword is an FQDN (\\Server\Share\) and not a mapped drive.
Could someone please answer the following questions
    1. is the normalemail.dotm file loaded from the user templates path or the workgroup templates path?
    2. does the user require write access permissions to the folder that the normalemail.dotm is located ?
    3. is normalemail.dotm required in %appdata%\microsoft\templates ?
    thank you in advance

    as stated

  • Remove Office 2010 purchase message from internet explorer

I have a notebook and desktop computer and I use Windows Microsoft Office 2007, running Word, Excel, Publisher, Access etc, on both notebook and desktop computers with Norton 360
antivirus, both have used this system for the last 4 years.
Both computers came preloaded with Microsoft Office 2010 starter for Word and Excel which have never been used on either computer.
For the last couple of weeks every time I try to open any document on the notebook (this does not happen on the desktop) from Internet Explorer I get a Microsoft 2010 message saying ‘the Office product needed to open this file is not installed’ and offers
3 solutions:  Activate office 2010; go online and purchase Office 2010; Try Office 2010 free for a limited time.
I have not used any of those options as I do not want to use Office 2010 and wish to continue with Office 2007, however there is no option to do so.
I can access Office 2007 manually on the computer but cannot open any document emailed or available online.
How do I get rid of this annoying notice coming up and et back to being able to use 2007 which has worked well for the previous years?

    Hi,
Do you install any updates before getting this error message?
According to your description, file type associations is missing maybe caused by installing September 2013 Update. After installing this update, you may be unable to open files by double-click then or
the file type icons have changed.
If so, we can try these methods to fix this issue.
Right-click the file, select Open with > Choose default program, to
restore the file type association to the correct Microsoft Office application.
In some cases, you may need to repair Office 2010 from Control Panel > Programs and Features.

  • Microsoft Office 2010 won't print on Win 8

    Hello techwizes!
My Microsoft Office 2010 stopped printing on windows 8. Network Brother printer connected, online and printing from websites etc.
Suddenly it stopped printing from any Office software. Tried to remove and re-install the printer, no good.
    I'd appreciate any advise!!!
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Had you tried to repair Office( Select Control Panel > Click on Programs and Features > Search for Office > Click Change > Choose Repair)?
If the issue still exits, please try the following methods:
    1. If Office 2010 detects there is a problem with a printer, some printing features or the printer may be disabled. In this case, you cannot use the disabled printers to print documents anymore.
To prevent Office 2010 from disabling printers, set the DisablePrintFeaturesOnCrash registry entry.
    More reference:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/983035/en-us
    2. If you can connect the PC and printer through USB, please try:
    a) Click Printer Properties / Advanced / Print directly to the printer
    2) Remove the printer from the system (open the Printers control panel, right click on the printer, choose Remove). Then unplug the USB and plugit back in. Windows detected the new hardware, installed the driver.

  • Essbase Excel Addin on 64 Bit Windows 7 and 64 bit Office 2010

    Hi Everyone,
I have installed 11.1.2.2 on server with Essbase and Shared Services.
Now, on the client I have 64 bit Windows 7 and 64 bit office 2010.
I tried installing Excel Addin client only (without Essbase client) and restarted machine after install.
After install Addin didnt come up automatically and i tried to manually set the add-in, I'm getting an error "This is not a valid add-in"
Is it because i am using 64 bit of office and have to go back to 32 bit.
Isnt 64 bit supported for latest 11.1.2.2 Essbase ?
Any ideas or experience in this regard will be helpful to me as our company is going for Windows 7 and Office 2010 across the business users and if 64 bit Office is not supported or has issues i would have to suggest them to go with 32 bit Office 2010.
    Thank you.

for 64 bit i guess its not avaiable for 2010 excel
but you can download 9 version or 11.1.1.3 with patch below is link.. its just a client ~~~

  • Problem uninstalling Office 2010

My company is currently using Office 2010 ProPlus via O365 subscription.  We are preparing to update to Office 2013 and I am trying to create a script that will uninstall Office & Lync 2010 and install Office 2013.
I'm having trouble finding a way to uninstall Office 2010 from a script.
I've tried to follow the instructions I found here, but when I run the command:
    setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config uninstallconfig.xml
    I get an error:
The product installation has been corrupted.  Run setup again from the CD, DVD, or other original installation source.
The install source I'm using is a shared folder on our network, which is the same location Office 2010 was installed from.
I've tried using both /uninstall ProPlus and /uninstall ProPlusSub as I'm not sure which one is correct.  I get the same error both ways.
    Any suggestions?

Just like the error says that your installation has been corrupted. I would suggest you to use Microsoft Fix It tool to remove Office 2010:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179
Or you might repair Office 2010 first, then try to use /uninstall command again.
For the command, please check whether you have typed the correct ProductID. For more details about
    /uninstall, please refer to:

  • Running Microsoft Script Editor after installing Office 2010

    As per this link:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/use-office-excel-2010-with-earlier-versions-of-excel-HA010342994.aspx
Microsoft Script Editor is installed along with Office 2010, even though it cannot be accessed from the UI. However, I cannot find it. I've looked in the installation folder, and in Program Files\Common Files for MSE7.EXE, and could not find it.
Previously, when I encountered a Javascript error, I would get a window prompting me to choose a debugger. Now I get a window saying no debuggers are found.
I would use IE8's built-in developer tools, but that doesn't help when debugging an HTA or under WSH.
I am using Office 2010 Professional Plus on Windows XP SP3.

Microsoft Script Editor (MSE) seems has been removed from Office 2007 and Office 2010.
That means MSE will not install when you have installed office 2010.
Microsoft Script Editor (MSE) has been removed from Office 2010 from what I can tell; however, it is still installed in Office 2007. There isn't a default botton configurationm to bring it up like in Office 2003. If you want to access it make sure it is installed
with the installation of Office 2007 and make a shortcut going to "%programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12\MSE7.EXE". If anyone finds where it is in office 2010 please let me know or has a definitive "no it is not a feature."
    Thanks.
