Office 2010 shows as beta in Assett Management

I have installed the full version and correct version of office 2010 professional plus (14.0.4762.1000) but asset mgmt picks it up as beta?
If I click the discovered product it lists 19 different versions of the product with all the language versions and the (beta) one at the top?
Also it lists each product seperately like, word, excel, powerpoint etc rather than adding them to a software collection under office 2010?
I know I can create a software collection but I shouldn't need to and when i try and create one called the full product version it says it already exists, so why isnt it using it?
Im running zcm 10.3.2 and not sure wether its the way office has been installed or an issue with how asset mgmt is picking it up, does anyone have any ideas?

  • Step by Step Procedure on How to Add a Language Pack to Office 2010 Before Deployment

I'm curious to know if there exists a Microsoft approved method of adding a language pack to Office 2010 prior to packaging for Configuration Manager 2010?  I have source Office 2010 Standard files, I have source French language pack files, I have a
.msp file and a .prf file and if possible I'd like to add them together before I create a package/application in Configuration Manager 2012 R2.  I found
    this.
Has anyone done this before?  Am I going about this the wrong way?

Yes, this is very much possible to integrate any Office language pack along with standard office files to create a single application in SCCM.
Please refer below link to get the complete details.

  • Cant uninstall Click to run MS Office 2010 beta

Trying to upgrade MS office 2007 to 2010, it won't allow me to install. It says it can't upgrade a beta version of 2010, so uninstall to continue.
When I try to install the upgrade I get a setup error which states "setup is unable to proceed due to the following errors: Microsoft Office 2010 does not support upgrading from a pre release version of Microsoft Office 2010. You must first uninstall
any pre release version of Microsoft Office 2010 products and associated technologies. Correct the issues listed above and re run setup."
So I then go into my control panel under programs and uninstall or change a program, the only thing I find related is Microsoft Office click-to-run 2010 beta. When I try to uninstall this I get this message, under click to run application manager it says
"the action cannot be completed. Try the action again. If the problem continues, contact Microsoft product support."
Any ideas on how to proceed?

sorry, i have find out the root cause of this issue
i changed winecfg version to win7, last night. it became normally after i changed it back to XP.
BTW , office 2010 needs msxml6 and office 2007 needs msxml3 , they are different .dont make it wrong.
though office 2010 works fine , but @thisllub , you are right , activation is still broken.

  • 2011 MacBook Pro with Parallels 6/Windows 7/Office 2010 Best Bets

I will be purchasing the new 13" 2011 MacBook Pro and plan to install Parallels 6, Windows 7 and Office 2010. My research so far suggests:
    - I should up to 8GB of memory and the 128GB solid state hard drive
    - Windows 7 Home Premium is the correct option to enable use of of Office 2010 Home and Business 2010, and I should install the 32 Bit version of Windows 7
    - Parallels 6 is a feasible alternative to using Boot Camp
Does anyone advise a different or better approach if my ultimate requirement is to be able to run Office 2010 in the Mac environment?
Does anyone recommend an existing online resource which might already address this scenario?
One post here stated that a Quad Core processor is preferable for the Parallels/Window 7/Office 2010 scenario, but the QCs are obviously only available with the 15" and 17". Is the Quad Core recommendation commonly held?
    Thank you.

This sounds like an excellent option and I'd like research it further. Is there a good overview article or other resource you're aware of? Basically, Windows 7 can be installed in the Boot Camp partition, but tapped into from either Parallels (or whatever one's VM may be) to enable Office to be run in the VM or Boot Camp. The advantage being you'll have only used up one install of Windows 7? Not that there'd be any need, but could you install Windows 7 once as above, but Office in both the VM and in Boot Camp, and the two respective installs of office look to the same install of Windows 7?
Right you install Windows 7 and Office in Boot Camp.. then create a VM and tell it to use the Boot camp partition as the hard drive and it will use the installation that is already there. You won't have to install anything again... and you can use it either way... with boot camp or your VM of choice. Here is an explanation from Parallels and a nice article with an older version but still relative.

  • Acrobat 9 crashes MS Office 2010, Firefox, and Cash Manager

On a new 64 bit coMputer with Windows 7, I installed a new MS Office 2010, installed Chrome and Firefox, and reinstalled Acrobat 9 and an accounting program called Cash Manager that were on my old 32 bitcomputer. I also copied all my data files from the old to the new computer. Now when trying to print form MS Office programs and Firefox and Cash Manager to pdf using Acrobat 9, MS Office, Firefox and Cash Manager crash, and Acrobat sits waiting with the progress bar stalled at about 10%. I can print to pdf from Pegasus and Chrome. After trying to fix the problem using remote access, the Adobe help desk finally told me the problem is caused by an incompatability between Acrobat 9 and Firefox and MS 2010, but I am using the same version of Firefox and Cash Manager as before. The only new programs are those in the MS Home and Office suite.

What is the version of Acrobat, firefox and chrome installed on your machine and is the offce 2010 32 bit or 64 bit???
Check entries in Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application for any information you can find about the crash.
Also you can try repairing your Acrobat from Control Panel->Programs and see if things work fine???

  • Synch problems after upgrade from Office 2010 Beta

I updated from the beta version of Office 2010 to the pro version. Now I can not synch my calendar. I get the message "no supported calendar application can be found" on the info page of my device in Itunes (seems it can not find Outlook 2010), even though it did find my contacts in Outlook and continues to synch those without a problem. it appears others have had some version of this problem. I followed the steps outlined to delete all the itunes and related programs in a specific order and then reinstall, no joy. any body have a clue what I should chase next?

    Hi Daniel,
What OAT tool are you using? Is it the Office Customization Tool?
Where did you get the "Do not create new ost file during Migration" option in the tool? As far as I know, OST file cannot be migrated. If you were able to use the old OST file, Outlook will prompt that it
    doesn't match the server mailbox.
The ForceOSTPath applies only to new profile, it can't be used to force Outlook to use the old OST file.

  • Monitors Showing 2 and 3 times in Asset Manager

All IBM's we have show 2 and 3 monitors in device manager. I believe it is
caused by the display adapter. There is no way to permanently delete the
monitors. The problem is that because of this all 3 monitors also show in
asset manager. Is there anyway to delete these in asset manager?

Are these monitors being detected with serial numbers?
If so, are they identical serail numbers or different ones?

The issue may be that Nokia bought the third party company that was doing the synch under Blackberry.

  • Microsoft Office 2010 Beta

I recently downloaded Office 2010 beta. While I am unable to print print internet pages fine but anything I complete in Word. Excel or Powerpoint is giving me problems.  Every time I attempt to print from these programs the printer menu continuously says it is spooling and the information never reaches the printer.  For me to remove the print jobs I have to reboot my system. It is getting me very frustrated.

One thing to check would be the printer selection.  Office 2010 may not properly select the default printer as default.  Goo to File, Print and check the printer settings to make sure your printer is selected.

  • HT203167 I paid for an app which seems to be fraudulent.  "Mastering in 24h office 2010". It shows a page in Thai with no links to anything.  How can I report this and be refunded? Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased and paid for an app through iTunes apps and it may be a fraudulent app as it is not doing anything other than show text in what looks like Thai language and has no links.  The software was supposed to be "master in 24 hrs office 2010. I am having problems reporting the problem to iTunes Store as the link in the apple invoice is not working.  Has anyone experienced this type of problem?  How can I get the problem software reported and my money refunded?

    Hi Dan,
From personal experience, my shop has never had success maintaining images with the ZAM client pre-installed. Invariably, someone will customize the image without approval and will replicate the Client GUID embedded in the registry across multiple workstations.
If your workstations are not SMBIOS 2.3.2 compliant (or higher) and you have not embedded the system serial numbers into your computers, you will have created a heck of a lot more work for yourself than you want.
I recommend against that plan, however if you are a small shop and have excellent control of your images and validation process for your images, I believe it can be done.
