I've run into a gottcha with Presenter 7.06, Windows 7-64 and Office 2010 32-bit. We have 14 licenses for eLearning Suite 2 which, as you know, includes a version Presenter which will not install on Win7 with Office 2010. Having viewed the information about Presenter 7.06 I downloaded the .msi package. However, during the install I'm asked for my Presenter license. Obviously my license is for eLerning Suite 2....Presenter 7.06 will not accept my eLearning Suite license. So here I set; a very large sum of money invested in Windows 7 OS, Office Suite 2010 and eLearning Suite 2. Thus far all the Adobe apps seem to funciton fine with Win7/Office 2010. However, we rely heavily on Presenter to create training courses and though we purchased a valid license we can't install the product. Hasn't Adobe thought about or provided some work-a-round to those customers that purchased eLearning Suite 2, require Presenter 7.06, but can't install due to invalide license key errors? Any help would be greatly apprecitated.
P.S. I read about those that uninstalled Office 2010, installed Office 2007, Installed Presenter and all its updates. This was followed by uninstalling Office 2007 and reinstalling Office 2010. I can't imagine anyone taking that amount of time to get this little application installed on their system...Adobe has to have an easier solution.

Yes, you can install Office 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1). For the system requirements for Office 2010, please refer to this article:

Microsoft now no longer offers a download from their site, however, if you already have a product key of Office 2010, you can get Office 2010 installation package from this website:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/microsoft-office-2010-backup-FX101853122.aspx . If you don’t have a product key, I would suggest you to try the new Office – Office 2013, which also can be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2.

Can I sync my iCloud calendar with Outlook 365? I upgraded from Office 2010 and now it doesn't sync.

I upgraded from Outlook 2010, and now it doesn't update in Outlook 365. Thinking I can't do it, and it's a pity, cause I want it all to integrate on phone and on desktop. I'm running Windows 7 and Office 365. The iCloud app works fine with Internet Explorer, but I can't get the calendar to update. Any suggestions?

Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.

No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

Windows Update of Office 2010 SP2 fails with message Code B56

I have been trying to update a Windows 7 Ultimate + Office 2010 professional with SP2 as supplied both by Windows Update and dowanloaded SP2 from KB2687455.
All attempts fail with a Windows Update error code B56.
I have tried the 'get help with this error' but there is no entry that matches the problem.
I have tracked the event viewer error which is 0x80070643 - this appears to relate to error occurring with .NET, so I am no furrther on.
Help Please from anyone.

Thank you for your input. The email prompted me to come back and share what I have been able to do to solve the problem. No answers as to why it worked but what I did was using a dvd with a copy of Office 2010 Professional Plus I started the setup and when
it asked what I wanted to do I answered Repair.
When this was finished I retried the update to SP2 and it worked.
It would be nice to know why it was failing but the pressure is off now.

Review the readme on the 11.1.1.3.500 patch for SmartView. You can download the patch assuming you are registered on support.oracle.com at:

It's always a good idea to also review current patch sets as these posts can get old and referring to a specific patch while correct for now there may be a newer one in a few months.
If you don't have access to support.oracle.com you need to work within your organization to find someone who does have that access to log SR's and download patches.

what does the client side need. Do they need a kms key? how do I check
on the KMSclient, and/or on the KMShost, to check, you can use:
cscript slmgr.vbs /dli all > c:\kmsout.txt
(this will output all possible Windows and Office licenses to the output file, and shows the status of each)
When you install Windows or Office by using VL media, by default these are pre-configured with KMSclient product key.
In case the machine may have been reconfigured with a different product key, and you find that you need to reconfigure back to a KMSclient product key, the Office KMSclient product keys are here:

Office 2010 Support date for 7.5?

I was wondering if any dates have been announced for supporting the new version of Office? I haven't seen anything published. Thanks

As far as my knowledge is concerned office 2010 would be released in the market by the middle of this year as said by Microsoft.
The installation guides of BPC 7.0 and 7.5 for Microsoft Platform state that currently supported versions of MS Office are versions 2003 and 2007.
May be BPC 10 might support office 2010 that too next year.

Trouble with loading videos - Manually manage music and videos not supported now with iOS5 and a 1st gen iPad?

Since updating my iPad 1st gen to iOS5.0.1 videos don't get loaded properly into the Videos app.
On the Summary page in iTunes of my docked iPad, I have always checked the box for "Manually manage music and videos".
I have my reasons for doing it this way, but that's for another thread perhaps.
The problem is that when I load a video to my iPad this way - by simply just dragging it from the desktop and onto the iPad, under Devices in iTunes - it copies/updates, and shows up on the iPad like it always has before iOS5. But now, with iOS5, when I undock, it can't be found anywhere within the Videos app on the iPad. The only way I can find it is to do a Search, which seems to find it, but when I click it, a different video plays - the first video in the Movies list in the Video app. Dock the iPad again, yes the video is there, according to iTunes, but no way to play it once iPad is undocked.
My suspicion is that with iOS5 you are no longer able to use the "Manually manage music and videos (Mmm&v)" that you will be forced to run everything through iTunes - and probably iCloud. I've unchecked the Mmm&v box, and get prompted with "Are you sure? - All existing content on the iPad will be replaced with content from your iTunes library". READ - "Rebuild your entire video and music collection, and this time run it all through iTunes. Welcome to iOS5. Have a nice day or two wasting your time rebuilding your entire video and music collection. Don't fight it. Use iTunes for everything! Until we finally make iTunes a decent piece of digital media management software, then you'll have to do it all again."
Okay, rant over - Anyone out there with running iOS5 on a 1st gen iPad with the Mmm&v option checked and able to load a video manually (not through iTunes)? Any other thoughts?

Yea, i managed to fix my issue in a wild fashion way But I DONT suggest it to anyone.
I like to hear why it happened after upgrading iTunes and if there is any peaceful solution.
Bythe way, here is how i fixed it :
1-i checked "manually manage music and videos" checkbox and clicked on "Sync" button
2-It showed a threating message that it will erase my music and videos ,......
3-I clicked on OK button and let iTunes do any thing she said , but the second it started to delete my treasures from my iphone, i disconnected my phone by pulling USB cable.
Now i have my musics and videos untouched and got that Option enabled again and i can manage my Music/Videos and Books manually.

I had Acrobat XI Pro Trial installed on W8.1, and I had to uninstall it because issues with MS Office 2010. Now I try to reinstall Acrobat and It does not allow me to use the trial version anymore even it was not over. What to do??

Well, I had installed in my new computer a trial version from Acrobat XI Pro, but I had issues with Microsoft Word 2010, since it did not allow me to save changes on my file. I uninstalled it from my computer before the trial period was over, and then, after I solved the issue with Office, I wanted to get it back for a time, but the installer does not allow me to choose Trial Version. I can reach that screen where you choose between key and trial, but once I press trial and click on next, it does absolutely nothing at all.
I have tried to manually delete folders, and I even used CC Clean to make a registry set up, but nothing out of that is working for me at all, and it keeps happening. I have no really idea what to do, and I kinda need to use Acrobat immediately for a file.

The trial can only be loaded 1 time as far as I know. You could try http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, and reboot. Then try an install again, but my guess is you will have to purchase Acrobat at this point.

Activate Office 2010 Professional Plus with MAK

How do I activate a new computer to download Office Professional Plus 2010? I have an MAK but I do not know how to use it. Thanks.

There are two activation methods for MAK:
MAK Independent Activation: Each computer individually connects to Microsoft via the web or telephone to complete activation.
MAK Proxy Activation:
This method uses the Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT). One centralized activation request is made on behalf of multiple computers with one connection to Microsoft online or by telephone.
Note: VAMT enables IT professionals to automate and centrally manage the volume activation process using a MAK.
Each MAK has a predetermined number of allowed activations, based on your Volume Licensing agreement. To increase your MAK activation limit, please contact your
Microsoft Activation Center.

Office 2010 mail merge with section breaks printing problem

Afternoon all,
We have an issue and I was wondering if anyelse has come across this and has a solution
Our office staff do many mail merges and once the merge is complete they then can print the whole document with no problems or select one page and do print current page. The problem occurs when trying to print a range i.e. pages 5-7. Once you click print nothing happens, no errors and nothing comes out the printer.
What I have found is that the mail merge is putting in section breaks between each page to seperate them but if I change these to page breaks in the document then I can select pages 5-7 and it prints with no problems.
So the only solution I have found so far is to do a find/replace and find all ^b (section break) and replace with ^m (page break). This is obvioulsy takes more time and is a pain if we have to do this for every mail merge.
I can't find any setting in the mail merge to tell it to use page breaks instead of sections breaks
Has anyone else come across this probem, is it a office bug ???

I see quite a few threads where the OP (original poster) posts a reply to each & every one who has replied. I think it makes it very difficult to find the actual answers.

Several Fonts are now missing in Microsoft Office (2010), which were present before the upgrade. Most notably, Calibri Bold will no longer display.

Has anyone else had anything similar happen? After I upgraded to Yosemite, several font families that were present in Office 2010 are now suddenly gone. Any document that I use Calibri Bold in now displays as something similar to Times. Even opening new documents, powerpoints, etc, does not fix the issue. On all web browsers, it displays correctly, and even as I type this question, I am able to use Calibri Bold, simply not within Office itself. Any clue?

It might be the case that OS X Yosemite disabled your MS fonts, by default. I found that Calibri Bold & Italic was disabled, so I had to enable it again.
HOW TO DO THIS...
In the "Spotlight Search" on the upper right-hand corner, type in "Font Book" and open the application.
--Click on "All Fonts."
--Scroll to "Calibri." Click on the font to open the drop-down menu. This should show you various font styles for that font family.
--If it says "off" next to it, right-click that style, and choose "Enable (font)."
Restart your documents, and you should be good to go.

When I click on an email address on a web page, a page no longer opens in my email program. Not sure if this is a problem due to Firefox or due to recent installation of Office 2010. I use a PC with Vista.

Unable to use Adobe 9 Pro with Office 2010

The year is 2012 and Adobe still has not resolved issues with beinga able to use the features I paid them for. Specifically the ability to retain metadata, hyperlink the TOC and maintain other links when converting an Office 2010 Profesional document to Adobe. When will Adobe make good? I'm in the software industry and I'm not buying that it's taking them TWO years to figure out how to support 64-bit. Give me a break Adobe. Meanwhile, if anyone has some ideas on how I convert my 2010 MS word documents to Adobe and maintain my links, I'd really appreciate your help.

Microsoft Office 2010 is compatible with Acrobat X (with 64-bit support included from version 10.1). Acrobat 9 is now a legacy product, so there will be no major additions to features.

ZCM 11.2 Beta Windows 7 with Office 2010 imageing

Hi we are testing the ZCM 11.2 for imaging Windows 7 Clients.
Now we have a nice Bug with the new Image.
Fresh installation Win7 incl. Office 2010 syspreped --> imaged with zcm11.1 everything is normal (of cause image up/download is slow). Imaged with zcm11.2, the hole Office 2010 installation is dead, no Outlook Profile, starting Excel it will reinstall VB for Access, word will reconfig him self....(3rd party imaging tools work also fine). An Office repair fix it, but its not an solution.

One of my customers experienced the same thing, and when I looked at the image, all the 8.3 folder names have been removed by the imaging engine either during the image capture or during the image restore. Obviously, the issue with this that most applications relying on the PATH variable do not run correctly or do not run at all, as the PATH is full of 8.3 path names, but they cannot be resolved by the OS as they do not exists after the image restore (including the ZCM Agent commands such as zac).
Would you be so kind to put this onto the list of bugs please, as I don't know how to.
The conference calls for ZCM are at 4:30am NZ time and this is too early to attend and anyway they are not the right place to raise individual issues.
