Office2010

Hi
I had to do a complete windows install and it wiped out my Office 2010.  I only have one license.  I tried to reinstall it and all seemed well, I put in the Product code and everything loaded as normal, but it keeps asking me to activate on line.
When I try to do this I get a message saying it can't activate because the product key is invalid.  It now says I only haev 28 days left to activate.  What can I do?

Hi,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. The old key will indeed be marked as used as you found out.

  • KMS server: Office2010 & Win7 react in different ways...

    Hi,
we have a virtual infrastructure using Win7 and Office 2010.
Before introducing Office2010, the KMS host was on a Win2008 server, then we decided to move it to a Win7 machine with the Office2010 extension installed. KMS functions were disabled from the Win2008 server.
What happens now is that Win7 OSs are regularly activated by KMS, while Office2010 installations are not... we have verified that the old KMS is no more publishing itself on DNS and that the correct DNS entry is present for the Win7 KMS host. Using nslookup
for further verification also gives the correct results.
Nevertheless, Office 2010 is unable to activate itself on the desktops. We are able to activate the Office2010 instances just using the VAMT tool, forcing the KMS activation for the selected desktops AND manually forcing the IP of the KMS server: when leaving
the tool search the KMS (using the DNS), it fails. Since (as stated before) nslookup gives the expected results (on the same machine where VAMT is installed and failing!), we really don't know what to do... everything seems to be ok, but actually it isn't:
    where?
    Thank you for your help

I was just looking through questions with no replies.  Do you still need assistance with this issue?

  • How to fresh install Xcelsius 2008 SP4 on Win7/Office2010

How do I do a fresh install of Xcelsius 2008 and get up to SP4 if I am unable to do an install of Xcelsius 2008 on Win7/Office2010 in the first place?

    Hi Chris
You can install Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 4 without having a previous version of Xcelsius 2008 installed because each Service Pack is a full install (or it can be used to upgrade from a previous Service Pack).
So download and install SP4 which supports Office 2010 (32-bit) and Windows 7.

  • Sharepoint 2010 is automatically downloading Office2010 files to local machine's Recent Documents, instead of opening from library, off an emailed link.

    Hi-
Please forgive me if this exact question has been asked already (if so I'm not finding it via Google or these forums), but one of my users can't seem to edit documents IN libraries, via links emailed to him.  He clicks on the link and the
file auto-downloads with no Read-only/Edit option pop-up, and he can edit it (without getting the annoying yellow "this is read only from the server, click to edit document" bar up top either), but naturally his changes to these documents
are only being saved on his local machine and not making it back to the library....  Our IT dept gave him a Save As workaround (that, it appears, would make a SECOND file in the library, which is not going to work for our processes), but nobody
else is having this issue....  I'm thinking this is a simple settings change someplace in Sharepoint 2010 or Word 2010 (we have Windows 7), or maybe IE, or it's possible his User profile in our network needs some kind of adjustment...  anyway,
    any/all help appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi,
    1. For automatically download the files, please check the office software settings. for word file, please open local word > file > options > save > save checked-out files to: > select "the office document cache"
    2. site actions > site settings > site administration > search and offline availablity to change the settings.
    3. Please compare the add-ons from this user's IE setting and the working fine IE setting.

  • OPA 10.1 with Office2010

As we are having problems with the DataSourceConnector of 10.2 i have tried to use 10.1 in combination with Office 2010. With Word-document there seems to be no problem, but OPA 10.1 does not detect Excel 2010. When i try to open an existing Excel-document I get an error ("Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation").
Is the combination of 10.1 and Office 2010 really impossible or can OPA be tricked?

OPA 10.1 doesn't preventing you from using Office 2010 - but Office 2010 isn't supported by OPA v10.1 and OPA certainly doesn't know what to do if Office 2010 doesn't respond the same way Office 2007 does.
For what it is worth, Word 2007 and Word 2010 look the same at the code level, but we did have to make changes in OPA v10.2 to support Excel 2010. This lead to us replacing the Excel add-in with a ribbon tab to help reduce the type of exceptions you are seeing.

    1. MS Office 2010 is not yet supported, since it's still just a beta. I believe there are couple of changes that Microsoft make, and it could cause a problem.
    2. LabVIEW 8.6.1, and all its toolkit is not supported on Windows 7. This could cause a problkem also.
In conclusion, you should use LabVIEW 2009, Report Generation Toolkit 2009, Windows 7, and downgrade office to XP, 2003 or 2007.

  • Cannot view InfoPath Form on SHarePoint 2013 since I removed SkyDrive for Business and installed OneDrive For Business

I removed SkyDrive for Business and installed OneDrive for Business on my laptop. After that, I had problems opening a Word and Excel document in a SharePoint site (SP2013). After installing Service Pack2 from Office2010, this problem is solved.
But I still have the same problem with InfoPath. Whenever I click an InfoPath form (I have InfoPath 2010 on my laptop),...
... I get the error "cannot display web page".
    When I change the URL
    ms-infopath:ofe|u|http://intranet.water-link.be/samenwerken/awwit/Autorisaties/Gebruikersbeheer/2015-02-25%20Aanvraag%20gebruikersbeheer%20voor%20Stephanie%20Geeraerts.xml

I can open the InfoPath form and read it.
Any ideas about how to fix this ? I already tried to restore the Office 2010 via Control Panel - Install Programs but without any success...

    Hi Gert,
As I understand, you can’t open InfoPath form in SharePoint 2013 unless you change the URL without “ms-infopath:ofe|u|”.
There are some reasons which maybe cause this issue, and you can try to do things below:
Access CA -> General Application Settings -> Configure InfoPath Form Service -> Check the two options in User Browser-enabled Form Templates.
Go into the registry by typing regedit from the Run line and rename the SharePoint.OpenDocuments.5 key (ex. SharePoint.OpenDocuments.5.old) under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
In library settings, click "relink documents to this library".

  • Preserving HTML links when converting Word docs

I created a document in MS Word for Mac 2011 (ver 14.5.2)
When I used Adobe Pro 11 to convert the document into pdf format, all the HTML links are lost.
I have tried converting from MS Word, opening the word version with Adobe Pro, printing from MS Word to pdf.  Nothing works. Even opened the MS Word document using Apple's Pages software, re-formatted and then converted to pdf.  Still no live links.
Best work around so far is to convert and then use the edit feature in Adobe Pro to re-insert the HTML links as invisible rectangles on top of the still-blue-and- underlined text.  So to the user it looks like the html links are still live, but what a pain for editor.
I have seen this issue raised in other posts, but none of the answers seem to work. And the work around described above is clearly less than ideal.
Very curious, as reading other posts, the issue apparently does not arise when the word doc converted from a Wintel computer.  But I can't imagine Adobe writes software one way for Intel and another for Mac.

Imagine it. this has been 15 year fued between Microsoft and Adobe.  Adobe Claims that Mac office doesn't hav ethe proper hooks for URLs. Microsoft says the fault is with adobe.
Since a Word Created file will work when opened in the windows version  and saved as a PDF, the links work just fine. Just opening and not saving, but converted to Pdf does nothing to the actual Word File.
They had it fixed last year  in Acrobat X if your dropped the file on to Acroabt directly. But broke it again with the upgrade to XI.
IF you have iWork and Open the word file in Pages then exported as a Word.docx file then create The PDF the links will become active.  Also if you Open in OpenOffice and export as docx file the resulting PDF when open in Word and PDF is Created the links will become active.
If you have neither you will have to open the PDF and add the links. Note the Links will be hot (active) but the links will not turn Blue and  be Underlined
Mac Office2011 is a Conversion of Office2010/2007 code.  So there should be no pproblem.
Also Don't use the Save As . . .  PDF Method. Instead go to Print Menu  click on PDF wait for context menu > the choos Adobe Quality PDF or Adobe PDF (uses Adobe's PDF engine).
wait for next screen that shows qualtity leave as sent unles you need specific job options. click okay then next screen File name. Rename as necessary the browser to desired to location then click save.  Or you can drop the saved Word document (with Word quit.) on to Acrobat and after a minute or so the PDF will be created. (Using this method in AcrobatX would actully show URL s or Mailtos as active - They broke this in Acrobat XI PDF still can be created but hot links no longer work).
Well it seems it does work on occasion  see: http://www.screencast.com/t/cib2kcYG

In office 2007 in the tables are correct.

    Hi Ashim Kumar Nath,
Have you registered SCP when installing ADRMS? If you can't remember, you can check this running ADSI Edit, connect to the configuration container in verify if those nodes exist CN=Configuration [server name], CN=Services, CN=RightsManagementServices,
CN=SCP. Right click on SCP and verify that serviceBindingInformation contains your https://rms.company.com/_wmcs/certification server name.

  • Need assistance creating applications with superseedence to uninstall Office 2010, Lync 2010 and then install Office 365 click to run 2013

We are getting ready in a few months to uninstall our locally installed Office 2010 and head to the cloud with Office 365 2013. I have created applications to uninstall Office 2010 and Lync 2010 and then added them to the supersedence tab for Office 365
office 2013 click to run with appv5.
When deploying the office 365 2013 application it does not uninstall office 2010 or lync 2010 with the supersedence.  I am able to manually uninstall Office 2010 and Lync 2010 with the command lines I am using in the applications.
The application uninstall for Office 2010 is:
The application uninstall is an exe so I created an application, created a deployment type with the location of our Office 2010 admin point, installation program and uninstall program are set with the same line as I have tried to deploy it separately and
also as a supersedence in the Office 365 application setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config "\\sccmserver\share\Office2010\ProPlus.ww\silentuninstallconfig.xml.  The silentuninstallconfig.xml was created from the original config.xml file and edited
    to these settings:<Configuration Product="ProPlus">
     <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="NO" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />
     <Setting Id="Reboot" Value="Never" />
     <Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="NEVER" />
     <OptionState Id="ProductFiles" State="Local" Children="force" />
     </Configuration>
The detection method is the folder path to see that office 14 exists.  When I deploy this the machines finish with success showing this exists, but does not uninstall Office 2010.
running the command line manually mapped to this location on a machine uninstalls office 2010 without issue.
    Lync 2010 uninstall:
Lync is an exe so I am using the LyncSetup.exe /silent /uninstall.  The application is in the supersedence tab for Office 365 2013. This never installs.  If I create a softare distribution and deploy it on its own it uninstalls without issue.
We are going to use Lync 2013 with our office 365 2013 installation so we need to uninstall this.  The detection method for lync is file system folder and the Microsoft lync folder for detection.
MS Office 15 (Office 365) was created with the click to run tool.  I can install this with the application I created using the appv5 package created with the click to run tool.  The issue is we need Office 2010 and Lync 2010 uninstalled first.
Having both versions of Office installed in test has caused issues where Office 15 365 will not list in add and remove programs and cannot be uninstalled even with the fix it article to remove office 2013.
I have looked at many articles and so far it is not working for us.  Any help appreciated to get us to the cloud.
    Thanks,
    Brit

The applications I have for uninstall of office 2010 and Lync 2010 for some reason do not uninstall. Manually testing the command lines they do.  The detection method seems to be hanging things up.  On the lync uninstall detection method I have
the setting type of file system, type folder, path c:\program files\ folder name Microsoft Lync.
I highly recommend using something other than a file/folder "exists" detection method. Installers are constantly leaving things behind due to environmental inconsistencies. It may leave files/folders behind with a schedule to delete files on next reboot.
These things are unpredictable and very hard to use. I just use the "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" Registry location. There you can actually key off the "Product Version" DWORD as well which gives you an even more accurate method
to determine if the application you are trying to deploy (or expect to exist) is truly there. This, of course, being if you are not using an MSI. If you have MSI technology ALWAYS use the product code unless the person writing the MSI chooses to use the same
product code for every version release of their product. In which case, Use the registry method.
As far as getting the supersedence and everything working. You need to start from the basics. Create Applications for all of the apps you want to remove. Make sure they install and uninstall properly (seems like overkill but it isn't that hard). Once you
have working install/uninstall applications then you can easily apply supersedence to your new applications with a setting of Uninstall on the superseded apps you should have no problem getting rid of them. I have done this for numerous things.
For example, I did this with Cisco Jabber to replace older versions of jabber, older versions of cisco unified personal communicator and lync and OSC. All of these replaced versions had to have an Application but once it was in it took two seconds to apply
all the supersedence rules and now I know when I push that software out no matter version is running on any machine it will pull all the old apps off and put the new one on.

  • Office 2010 and Office 365 Home Premium

I had a free trial of Microsoft Office 2010. When 365 was introduced I decided to purchase it. I purchased Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium. I ran the install and can sign on to Sky Drive and see recent documents etc. I also have a Surface that I use
SkyDrive with. The issue is that I still have the trial version of 2010 on my computer and whenever I open Excel or Word etc to start a new document or file or to open an existing, it says that my trial is expired. When I try to enter my product key to upgrade
it says that that is not the right product key, it wants one for 2010. How do I resolve this? I shouldn't have to open a browser and use a web app when I'm on my computer, right?

If you purchased O365 Home Premium, the product key you purchased for that, will not be acceptable to Office2010.
You will need to download and install O365, and it's probably best to uninstall the Office2010 trial.

  • Office 2013 with Service Pack 1 installation error about "search path"

I have an automated installation technique that has worked fine with Office 2010 Pro Plus (32-bit), incorporating the latest Service Pack into the network administrative installation point (under \updates), adding 10 foreign languages to the network administrative
installation point, creating a custom .msp with the OCT (that goes into \updates too), editing the config.xml files, and then running setup.exe from that network administrative installation point. This works on 32-bit Windows XP clients and on 32- and 64-bit
    Windows 7 clients.
For Office 2013 Pro Plus, I have built the network administrative installation point exactly the same way (original DVD files + languages + SP1 updates + config.xml updates), but the installation is failing with every type of client, all with
the same error message. The network administrative installation point is readable by the normal installing account, but I even get the same error when I login as me and initiate setup.exe manually, and I have all rights to this point.
Here's the critical point from a log file:

I cannot find any references to this exact error anywhere on the Internet. Can anyone tell me what this means, and how I fix it?

As automated, the utility that runs setup.exe maps a drive letter to
\\archive.ads.college.edu\archive\KBOXalt using a kboxmap AD account, which has read access to the whole \KBOXalt tree. I used that same kboxmap AD account manually to simulate what the utility does, and hit the same problem. But here's what's
    odd: right next to that
    \\archive.ads.college.edu\archive\KBOXalt\Office2013 directory is an
\\archive.ads.college.edu\archive\KBOXalt\Office2010 directory, both created the same way, and the Office 2010 installation has always worked perfectly using the kboxmap AD account. I don't understand why Office 2013 is only working for an account with
read/write access, where Office 2010 worked fine for an account with only read access. Especially when the Office 2013 resource kit documentation clearly states that the account running the installation should only have read access, nothing more. (All this
KBOX stuff comes from the fact that our deployment environment is a Dell KACE KBOX 1000. However, that plays no part in the problem: ignoring the KBOX 1000, I can manually recreate the problem every time.)

  • I would like know how to view a SharePoint Page from mobile browser or app.

I work for a company that sell products and then offers aftermarket support.  On our external SharePoint site, I created a page to link to Wiki pages that contain knowledge sharing entries.  The goal is when a member of the company learns something
that they feel would be good to share, the can take a video, post it to Vimeo, and then embed the video with applicable text to the SharePoint site.  The SharePoint posts can also contain PDFs, other document links, and embedded pictures.
I have the page essentially finished, I am ready for some more contributors at the company to start adding content.
One of the goals of the site is to be viewable via a mobile application.  I have tried apps such as SPConnect, and SharePlus from Infragistics.  Their mobile apps view SharePoint as a list, and do not view any of the embedded pictures or Vimeo
    videos.
    My questions are:
Will SharePoint 2010 support mobile web browsing with the same functionality as the standard web browser?
If 2010 will not, will SharePoint 2013 offer the support?
If it is possible, what features do I need from a server and what settings do I need to enable to make it happen?  Currently on our site, it is not viewable.  I use "Forms Authentication" to log into the site.
If it is possible, do you suggest finding an app?  Is there an app that will do it, or can I just log in and view from the mobile web browser the same way I do from a standard web browser?
Overall, I need to know what I need to do to get this to work.
Thank you for reading.  I look forward to your responses.
