Official Self approval process in CfTE

Issue:
Cost center Owner is submitting the Expense report and you have to restrict
him from approving his own Expense report.
Conclusion:
There is a scoping question in BC to allow or switch off Self-approval.
If Self approval is switched off then the approver receives the approval task in his Inbox but cannot approve,a self -approval error message prevents him.In this case he has to manually forward the task to another user.This is the Official Self approval Prevention solution for SAP Cloud for Travel.
Sincerely,
Manasa

Task assignment in SOA are done via human task assignment i.e. the .task component in BPEL. Now this task assignment can use various features to compute whom to assign the task to.
1. Static: This is when you specify the group name or the user name directly into the task.
2. Dynamic : This is when you assign the approver to be a variable and in your SOA workflow before task assignment you assign value to this variable.
3. External Routing: This is when you assign a java code inside the .task to do all the assignment and escalations. When using this you can have complex implementations done.
What I meant by looping is that you will need to call this .task two times, first time of the first approver and second time (if the first approves it) for the second approver. Thus when you are inside the loop you need to get the appropriate value from the payload (payload is sent from OIM to SOA when you submit/approve the request) and set it into the appropriate variable so that .task reads that variable and assigns the task to that person.
I would recommend going through the BPEL developers guide for better understanding. Start with a simple process and see how it behaves when it runs and then pile on top of it.

    Hi,
    I have run into the same problem with SOA 11.1.1.5 version. In my case after fixing the following two errors it seems to work fine.
    If you have followed the guide, there must be some errors:
    First the java code if copied then contains an extra enter value:
    Instead of:
    "try {
    System.out.println("Prototype for invoking an OIM API from a SOA Composite");
    System.out.println("RTM Usecase: Self Registration Approval by Organization
    Administrator");"
    Use the following:
    "try {
    System.out.println("Prototype for invoking an OIM API from a SOA Composite");
    System.out.println("RTM Usecase: Self Registration Approval by Organization Administrator");"
    The other error is that you should not use <BEAHOME>/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_11.1.1/jps-manifest.jar, but the <BEAHOME>/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_11.1.1/jps-api.jar in jdeveloper. After these the deployment to the application server works fine for me.

  • OIM 11g Self-registration approval process

    Hi
    I wanted an OIM self-Registration request to be auto-approved. I am using OIM11g.
    Can anyone give me the directions.
    Regards
    user12841694

    The OIM11g approval process are three levels.
    1. template level
    2. request level
    3. operational level
    Both template level and operational level can be auto approved where as the request level cannot be.
    The reason being, the self-regisistration template ships with user's organization attribue as the Approver-Only attribute indicating it should be populated only by the apporver.
    Looking for any possible options to auto approve request level also.

  • Self Service Form Approval Process

    Hello Gurus,
    Your help needed urgently! Im using International Global HRMS the self service responsibility, I have a customized form which is being used by the employee to fill in details and then those details need to be approved. So what I wanted to know was which tables hold the approver's data before and after the approval process.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Tasneem.

    You have to add below roles explicitly. If you look at the description of the roles it should show as below to your assigned roles(I am checking on R12)
    Approvals Management Administrator -> Role inherits Process Owner role and System Administrator role. Can also create action type and can modify default config variables.
    Approvals Management Business Analyst -> Role which gives full access to business dashboard pages. Does not have Default config variable access and Action Type Create Access.
    Approvals Management System Administrator -> Role can create, update or delete transaction types. Also inherits System Viewer. Can access Exceptions log and config variables.
    If they are inherited, then the description is quite different. Check you have above description for the roles assigned to your user.
    I am not really sure whether this resolves the issue but I remember that I did it to avoid the same error earlier.
    Regards,
    Peddi.

  • Request Approval Process exception in OIM 11g

    Hi,
    We have upgraded oim 9.1 to oim 11.1.1.5 and we did not have any request approvals in oim 9.1.
    Now we are using oim 11g to develop request approval process. We have tried to raise a request for "Provisioning Resource" - Application Access and "Assign Role" - Business Role Request in OIM 11g environment. Both the Requests are failing with the same exception as below,
    Error:
    IAM-2050014:An error occurred while initiating approvals for request oracle.iam.platform.workflowservice.exception.IAMWorkflowException: Tasklist mapping failed for workflowdefinition: default/DefaultRequestApproval!1.0 due to javax.naming.NamingException: String index out of range: -1. Any idea on the above error?

  • Approval Process doesn't work correctly

    Hi,
    I developed custom request template for self-request provisioning for resource with child table data. Also I deployed custom Request Dataset only with child attribute field definition for this resource:
    <request-data-set
    xmlns = "http://www.oracle.com/schema/oim/request"
    xmlns:xsi = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation = "http://www.oracle.com/schema/oim/request"
    name = "ProvisionResourceHP"
    entity = "HP"
    operation = "PROVISION">
    <AttributeReference
    available-in-bulk = "true"
    length = "100"
    widget = "text"
    type = "String"
    attr-ref = "UD_HP_ROLES"
    name = "Roles">
         <AttributeReference
         lookup-code = "Lookup.HP.AppRoleList"
    available-in-bulk = "true"
    required = "false"
         length = "100"
    widget = "lookup"
         type = "String"
         attr-ref = "AppRole"
         name = "AppRole"
              primary="true"/>
    </AttributeReference>
    </request-data-set>
    When this request approved by all participants of the approval process, Resource do not in provisioned status! In the resource history only - System Validation status Pending!!!

    I resolved this issue but not complitly. I checked Auto Save Form check box on Process Form and its worked.
    But I do not need Auto Save, because on child table attrubute i don't have any prepop adapter so it always been unpopulated during direct provisioning....
    How to solve this new issue???

  • Approval process in OIM 11g

    Hi All,
    I am newbie to OIM. I have a requirement with 2 levels of approvals in OIM 11g.
    *1st level:* In the first level the Approver will be selected by the user(self service) from the drop down present in the custom UI.
    *2nd level:* For the 2nd level Approval the 1st level appover should have the ability to select the next approver from a drop down list. The 2nd level approvers belong to a particular group.
    All the approvers should be stored in a lookup table in OIM. When a user raises a request the custom application should get the values from the lookup table and populate the drop down for 1st level approvers. 2nd level approvers sholud be populated in the drop down during the 1st level approval process.
    can any one suggest me the steps to achieve this.
    Thanks

  • "Ask to buy" and "Sign in to Approve" process is not working

    Last weekend I setup Family Sharing for the first time, but the "Ask to buy" and "Sign in to Approve" process is not working. I am the Family Organizer and I created an account for my child under 13 with "Ask to buy" enabled. My child can go in to the App Store, click "Buy" for a desired app and I get a notification on my iPhone 5s... as expected. When I open the Notification I have the option to Decline or Approve. If I select Approve, a box pops up asking me to enter the password for my child's iCloud account to complete the request. (It seems odd to me that I'd have to enter his password instead of my own, but whatever.) So I enter his password and the box goes away for a second and then comes right back like I typed it wrong or something. I enter it again and again and always the same box comes back and the request is never completed. We've tried this several times over several days and always see the same behavior. I have also tried entering my password instead of his (since that makes more sense to me) but I encounter the same problem.
    I have verified that I am signed in to my iCloud account and my iTunes account on my iPhone 5s. I have also verified that my son is logged in with his iCloud/iTunes account on his iPod touch, so why isn't this working? Additionally, if I disable "Ask to Buy" then I can successfully install apps on his iPod from the iPod itself.
    Is it normal for the "Sign in to Approve" box to show his iCloud address instead of mine? And if so, why doesn't it complete when I enter his password? Am I missing something completely? This is driving me crazy.

  • Service entry approval process in MM-SRV-SUS by client engineer

    Dear Experts,
    We are implementing the service entry process in the classic scenario. In the new process, the service agent of the supplier will enter the service entry sheet from the SUS. Once triggering of the service entry sheet is completed, the service entry sheet will have the status of 'No Acceptance'.
    Here comes the client requirement. The client wants to have two step approval process for service entry sheet. In the first step, the supervising engineer of the client will approve the service entry sheet. Then the next step of approval will be financial approval which will be done by the cost center manager.
    In the existing process in SAP MM, the supervising engineer of the client enters the service entry sheet manually and goes through one step approval of the cost center/org unit manager approval. The existing approval process is implemented with release strategy available in ECC.
    How can the new approval process be implemented? What characteristics should be used to enable the system to find the first level approver i.e. the supervising engineer? is it achievable through release strategy?
    Any idea or thought will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan
    Ranjan Sutradhar

    Dear Masa,
    Thanks for the advice, I still have one more question.
    Does this mean I don't have to follow SAP's advice stated below?
    In the Plan-Driven Procurement with Supplier Integration business scenario, you can use Supplier Self-Services (SUS) and SAP Materials Management (SAP MM) in conjunction with each other.
    SAP MM is used as the procurement system, since this scenario involves the procurement of direct materials.
    *This business scenario is not suitable for the procurement of services or indirect materials*
    In other words are there any consequences for using the MM-SUS plan driven procurement scenario for services instead of direct materials?
    Kind Regards,

  • General Approval Process in SSHR

    HI all
    We are trying to get One way Approval process .That's when an applies or changes in personal forms ,Then it has to go it immediate manager.How to do this ? I need to know how to get this proceess to be done? If we need to use AME,what are basic steps to achieve this. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Kumar cs

    Hi Kumar
    You can set up AME Rules for standard Oracle Self Service Human Resources Transaction Type.
    Go to AME Administrator => Approvals
    Select Transaction Type => Oracle SSHR
    Then create conditions on which you want to initiate your approval process. Base condition will be like your workflow process name and then you can go ahead and add different conditions in different scenarios.
    Once you have defined the conditions define the group of persons you want to send the notification for approval or FYI.
    and then create the rules by selected conditions and groups.
    For detailed configuration you can go through the AME Developer guide at following link.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B40089_09/current/acrobat/120ameig.pdf
    Hope this helps

  • OIM 11g Approval Process

    Hi Expert/All,
    May I have assistance regarding the OIM 11g?
    Currently, I already create one approval (only 1 level approval) for some resource in OIM 11g, then I'm continue to test the resource with two below way:
    1. If I'm try to add "New Resource" directly by xelsysadm via manage user menu (without approval process), the provisioning process was successfully creating new account in the target system.
    2. The wierd is if I'm try to test Self-service request by user, after approval by last level approval, then there is no provisioning activity by OIM system, it is like OIM do nothing. The request status is show "Obtaining Template Approval" and history approval is complete by manager user (only 1 level approval)
    My question is, does it still required any configuration for completing the provisioning process after the approval process?
    Thanks,
    Ricky R

    Hi Kevin,
    Thanks for the information, but it still do nothing, OIM did not continue the provisioning account to target system event I already assign SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR roles to the user and manager. How I can trace this logs? currently I'm just look at the oim_server1.log at <OIM_DOMAIN>/severs/oim_server1/logs. Is there any other log file can we use to trace the app server logs?
    Thanks,
    Ricky R

  • Approved invoices can not be edited  - Approval process

    Hi Experts -
    I have recently raised an incident with SAP about Approval process - the complete message and support reply is as follows - but i believe we need a change in the approval process - if the approval required is only one but you have defined two people (Either or OR) in the approver list - the system should allow the document to be edited if one of the approvers reject it.
    please let me know and i believe we need  a change in design - unless otherwise a solid reason is given to justify the existing design
    10.07.2009 10:32 Description (English) by SRS Manian
         We have created approval procedure for all the invoices which are entered into the system., The
    'Accts' user enters the invoice into the system - the invoice comes for approval to 'Manager' user.
    When the Manager opens the invoice via Alert window - he/she wants to modify certain information
    (lines as well as Sales person) and approve it.
    The invoice which gets opened from the alert window - does not allow the user 'Manager' to modify at
    all. All the information on the invoice are greyed out.
    The system should allow the user 'Manager' to modify the information. Since the manager has full
    authorization to the system.

    When the originator sends the document for manager's approval, note that the at that stage, the document is still in the 'Approval Process'. This is because the system is waiting for the 'Manager' to 'Approve or Reject' the document. Hence, looking at the Document, it is still in 'Draft - Pending' Status.
    When the document is in 'Draft-Pending' Status, the document is not available for editing, because the system considers that it is still in the waiting process. In your case, the manager cannot edit t he document.
    To amend the document, an action is required from the approver either to reject it first. Once rejected, it can be amended and re-sent for approval.
    I have checked our knowledge base and noted that there is an article which describes the approval process. Please refer to the Expert on Phone Wiki Article (March 2009) with title: Why a draft documen t in an approval process cannot be modified by the originator?
    The link will provide the explanation:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki?path=/pages/viewpage.action&pageid=88735894
    I have also attached Notes 1321234 and 1111431 for your reference.

         Thanks for the reply. The scenario is when the Manager receives the
    document for approval, he wanted to edit and add it. Your reply (and
    documentations) states that it needs to be rejected first before it is
    available for editing. When it is gets rejected - the person who
    orignated the document gets an alert and he can edit it. Here the
    Manager must get an alert so that he can edit the Rejected document.
    When the 'manager' rejects the document, and goes back to the alert
    window to open the document - it is still greyed out !!
    How does the 'manager' reject the document and edits it ?
    regards
    Manian

         Dear Manian,
    If after the Manager rejects it and still the document is not editable (greyed out), it means that the document may still be in the 'Approval Process'. When it is greyed out, what is the status of the document in the header? Does it say 'Rejected' or 'Pending'?
    If it is still in 'Pending' mode, please verify the number of 'Approvers' set in the 'Stages' tab of the 'Approval Template - Setup' window. If there is more than one user listed as 'Approver', and o nly 1 approval is required, the system provides an opportunity to other 'Approvers' to approve or reject the document. If in your case, the number of approvers is 2, and manager 'rejected' it, the sys tem still keeps the document in Pending status as it waits for another approver's decision to reject or approve it.
    Also, verify the number of 'Approvals' required. If the number of 'Approvers' who have not rendered their decision is greater than or equal to the 'Approvals' required (e.g. approvers - 2, required ap provals - 2) the system keeps the document within the approval process. This is to allow the other 'Approvers' to decide on the document.
    I hope this clarifies the behaviour. If you can provide us a step by step screenshot of the issue, this may help us to provide a more accurate response.

         Dear Manian,
    I'm trying to call you but there was no response on your mobile.
    When the header says 'Pending', then it means the document is still within the approval process. Please check the Approval Template and see the number of approvers and the number of approvals require d.
    The number of approvals and approvers may be greater than 1. In this case, the system waits for other approvers to approve or reject the document. Once all the approvers have rejected the document, th en the document will be released and available for editing.

         Dear Manian,
    Thank you for the information. The behaviour is a current system definition documented as per Note 1321234. I have attached the said Note for your reference. When only 1 approval is required and there are 2 or more persons are allowed to approve the document, the document does not get automatically rejected when 1 person 'rejects' it. The system waits for other approvers to render their decision b ecause a person may still approve or reject the document.

    Hi Experts - I have recently raised an incident with SAP about Approval process - the complete message and support reply is as follows - but i believe we need a change in the approval process - if the approval required is only one but you have defined two people (Either or OR) in the approver list - the system should allow the document to be edited if one of the approvers reject it. please let me know and i believe we need a change in design - unless otherwise a solid reason is given to justify the existing design
    SRS Manian We have created approval procedure for all the invoices which are entered into the system., The 'Accts' user enters the invoice into the system - the invoice comes for approval to 'Manager' user. When the Manager opens the invoice via Alert window - he/she wants to modify certain information (lines as well as Sales person) and approve it. The invoice which gets opened from the alert window - does not allow the user 'Manager' to modify at all. All the information on the invoice are greyed out. The system should allow the user 'Manager' to modify the information. Since the manager has full authorization to the system.

  • Approval process (Release strategy of scheduling agreement)

    Hi,
    Recently we are trying to implement the approval process of scheduling agreements.
    Client requirement is when ever there is a change in price irrespective of the following
    1. Retrospective price change in any line item
    2. Current price change in any line item
    3. Future price updation in SA in any line item
    4. New addition of line item
    the system should trigger the release process (i.e. Approval process).
    Our idea is to design the approval process based on document type and net value of SA.  Based on which trigger should happened.  But when we test it we find the following issues.
    1. Trigger is not happening for future date price change or price for new period as the net value of SA is based on validity time.
    Becuase the net value change will happen only on that onwards..
    Also we are not using any cumulative pallned values in agreements.
    Any can suggest the best solution to over come this..or Any user exit is avaliable to handle this issue.
    regards,
    K.Sundaresan.
