Offline Payment Passphrase doesn't work - Solution

Just in case anyone else comes up with this issue with another client.
We have been having problems with the offline credit card payment file passwords not being accepted in the Adobe Reader password input window when they are copied from the BC Order screen.
I have flogged this issue from every angle and it looks like it is being caused when the passphrase code is pasted into the PDF passphrase window box.
You can copy and paste the correct passphrase into Notepad, but it does not always paste the correct passphrase into the Adobe Reader password input window. I discovered this when I counted the number of digits in the Adobe password window compared to what was being pasted into Notepad and found it had two extra characters when it was pasted into Adobe Reader.
When I looked at the html code of the BC order screen showing the passphrase I noticed there is a space between the passphrase and the < html. This made me wonder if it was picking up this space as an extra character in the passphrase when it was being copied (Ctrl+C or right click Copy in Windows).
From this I took a guess at where the other extra character was, at the beginning, and deleted the first and last characters of the passphrase that was pasted into the Adobe window and it works perfectly every time there is this issue!
I have absolutely no idea why two extra characters are appearing in the Adobe passphrase input window when pasted into the passphrase box prior to opening the Credit Card payment info file, but it certainly appears to be the cause of the problem.
  It looks like in previous versions of Adobe Reader these extra characters may have been allowed, but in the latest version they are not - possible security patch?
The question is why do these extra characters appear in the password box when you paste the code into it. Unfortunately I don't know the answer.

I have iPhone 4s and also have the same problem. Had a nightmare of a time with support on the phone, where I waited to be put through to a senior tech person but they just hang up while I was in the queue, made worse with the fake apologies from the first line people. For what it's worth I left a bug report feedback describing the problem. it's a bug that Apple will just need to fix with an update. ps I factory restored my phone as well and still the same problem. Same problem on my other iPhone 5s also after a factory restore. No problem on a friends 4s which is still on ios7.

  • Link to download payment receipt doesn't work

    When I click on the link to download my most recent Creative Cloud payment receipt, I receive the following message:
    We were unable to locate the specific transaction you are trying to access.
    I can download my October receipt without any issues.

    No response at all. Nothing. I actually created this post on accident while trying to find a way to contact their customer service. I eventually was able to create a support ticket, but it still says, Open - Pending Adobe Response and the link still doesn't work.
    Yesterday I tried to sign in and check on the ticket, but the support site threw an error.
    This situation combined with them being hacked doesn't give me much confidence in the Creative Cloud.

  • Offline reading list doesn't work - Ipad 3/Iphone 4s

    I have an iPad 3, iPhone 4s, and an iMac. Offline reading works on the Imac, but not the others. I just tried restoring the Ipad 3, without loading any other data, and using the offline reading feature. It claims to be downloading for offfline reading, but then won't load in airplane mode. Here is the error message;
    "Safari cannot open the page. The error was: "The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted".
    All settings are default. iCloud has not been set up. I am currently using iOS 8 on both the iPad and iPhone, but the feature didn't work on iOS 7 either. It worked for a while, then quit.

  • Kapsel/SMP Offline DB Index doesn't work

    I'm trying to set an Index on a field in the Kapsel Offline Database. Therefore I followed this guide http://help.sap.com/saphelp_smp305sdk/helpdata/en/f5/a25877c16f4fc384c44fcf0b92dab8/content.htm
    I've created a config file which looks like this (Connection name and Namespace are identical):

    indexed_type=Test_Service.Customers: Name
    After imported the settings in the SMP I've deleted the app from the device an start a new initial sync.
    The problem is that I can't see any differences in performance. I'm also not sure if the indexes are set correctly because the app is running on android without root and I can't access the DB file. On iOS the DB file is also encrypted. Also no informations in the SMP Logfiles.
    Any ideas how I can check if the indexes are set correctly? If the indexes are set correctly why does it not improve the perfomance? Any ideas?

    thanks for your answer. Currently I'm testing with requests like this one:
    $filter=indexof(Field1,'Test') gt -1 and endswith(Field1,'abc') eq true&$orderby=Field1&$format=json
    against 150.000 database entries. The fields are Strings and the requests tooks 2-3 seconds and there is absolute no difference when I'm using an index on Field1.
    Is there any way to open the .udb to check if the index is set correctly? I tried with Sybase Cenrtal but it tolds me that the database was created with a different version. Are there other tips how to improve that kind of requests?

    Return message:
    An error was encountered:

    Any ETA on when this will be fixed? We work with the Siebel CRM products and the underlying data model is full of DATE fields whose default value is NULL. As a result, there are very few tables which can be imported for diagramming.

    DELETING APPS
    Touch the app and hold your finger down until all the apps start to jiggle. You will see a circled "x" in the upper left corner. Tap it to delete an app. When done press the Home button.
    You cannot delete any pre-installed iOS app.
    If there is No 'X' on any apps you have Downloaded... then check in Restrictions... Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps  =  Off / On
    If the app is in iTunes, then you delete the app in iTunes (Select the App and Press Delete on your Keyboard). If you then sync with your iDevice, the app will also be deleted from your iDevice.

    Hey, There are afew things you can try.
    - Simply turn your phone off and back on again
    - Hold down your home button and your lock button and let goes as soon as the screen goes black (Phone will power down) - Then turn on your phone and hey presto!
    - Back up your iPhone to your PC, then restore it..
    this ones last cause I think you may have tried it already..
    - Close all open applications

    As you see in the heading, I am getting the error "Unable to open file because it isn't a valid Keynote document". There has been a number of threads on this and there seems to be a usual work around that works in many cases, by changing the file extension to .zip and then looking for the index file and making some more extension changes...unfortunately, in my case (and it also happened to others), there is no index file, so the usually suggested solution doesn't work...Can someone please help? I am working on a tight deadline and would like to try and recover the file.

    Have you tried to create a new Keynote Presentation? Do you have another previously saved Keynote file you can try to open? These will make sure it is a problem with this specific presentation and not the whole program.
    Try to delete the Keynote Preferences. They are located in the folder Macintosh HD>Users>your username>Library>Preferences and titled com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist.
    Your profile shows that you are still on Mc OS 10.6.6, is that true? You might try to update to 10.6.7 as I believe that there was a font issue fixed in this update (I don't know for sure since I am still on 10.5.8).
    Try those and report back and we will see what we can come up with.

    If those solutions don't work your iPhone 4s has developed a hardware problem. The permanent solution is to get it replaced.
    You can search the internet for heating and freezing solutions that might work (at least for a while).

    Speculation: On some iPhone 4s devices there may be a flow soldering problem with the WiFi chip. After long periods of WiFi activity such as installing an iOS update (for example, iOS 7 or iOS 8) there may be a connection failure. A work-around to this is the procedure in the youTube video.

    There are numerous reports of this issue happening on iPhones. It may be a glitch that will need a new update. Some find that a full shut-down and restart fixes that problem, but not always.

    My name is Michele.
    I can't use  HP Solution Center for scanning with my HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a (I have windows 7 O.S.) because, when I click on "Scan document" , a white error windows appears and says"Necessary Component is not founded or not correctly installed. Install again HP Photosmart software" . I uninstalled and installed again the software but it doesn't work. Previously it worked with XP. Recently I've updated XP with Windows 7 and I found HP Solution Center doesn't work. Perhaps it doesn't match with Win 7?

    there seems to be a bug in iOS5 with regards to Bluetooth. THere are a lot of threads in here on this. We're all waiting for Apple to fix this...

    I have one issue with same report
    when i seen the report there are two  arrears days are showing to corresponding to the months Feb
    as per the Report S_ALR_87012177 help  following below
    Arrears in days
    The average days in arrears are determined as follows: Every
    incoming payment in the periods concerned is multiplied by its days
    in arrears. These amounts are added together and then divided by the
    total amount from all the incoming payments. This process ensures
      that the days in arrears are weighted by the payment amount
    but for February month there are 9 payments on one customer  and when checked in FBL5N report
    there are no Arrears days on each payment document but in the report "customer history ' there showing  2 days as arrears under " payments with Cash discount .Arrears"
    User has doubt how this report is working to show the Arrears days
    Are there any Formula  , can you please advise me
