Offline problems

I must admit to owning a lowly (and slightly aged) Premiere Elements 1.0. However it has served me pretty well up to now.  I've made several family films which were ok.  On the latest one I added titles at different points of the film.  I have saved the film to dvd and it runs as it should and the titles scroll through in all the right places.
I recently went back to my film, intending to burn another copy to dvd, only to find that where there were titles, there is now a big red sign which says "Media Offline" in different languages.  I  can't find any way of getting my titles back no matter what I try.  Has anyone found the same problem, and found a solution?  I can't even load the film back onto Premiere from my dvd.  If anyone has any good ideas how to resolve this I would very much appreciate it.

Is PrE asking for .PRTL files, or some other AV Assets, like ______.AVI? Please make note of the exact names of the files that are being requested.
Now, Exit from PrE without doing a Save.
Go to Search and find the locations of those files asked for. Make note of the locations.
Start PrE and let it ask you again, Where is File _____.XXX? Navigate to the location of that/those file(s), and choose that. PrE is pretty smart, in that if it is missing multiple Assets, and they are in the same folder, if you find one, it will find the rest. Now, if they are in different folders, you will need to navigate to each of those, and select the missing file.
As for why this happened, I would still lean towards a Move, Rename or Deletion.
All versions of PrE will experience the same problem, should the files be Moved, Renamed or Deleted. This is because the .PREL (Project file) is only an XML database of links to Assets and instruction sets. There are no Assets in it, with the exception of the instructions to build what we would see as a PRTL (Title), if we did a Save of the Title. Break a link, and this will happen.
Good luck,
Hunt

    Windows 8/8.1: Printer Offline Problems
Are you getting an error that your network or wireless printer is offline when you try to print?
When you print to your network printer, does it fail, and when you check the printer status it says Offline?
Do you have problems printing to your wireless printer after your PC has been asleep?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions, then you have a problem with your network printer being offline.  After some investigation into this problem, we recommend updating windows.  Run Windows update to check that your version of Windows 8 is up to date.
There are a few windows updates that may help with this problem
    1)    Install this Microsoft patch to make sure this private-public-private network issue does not reoccur. It is part of the April 2014 Windows Update package for Windows 8.1 and Server2012 R2 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2919355).
    2)      Install this Microsoft patch for the WSD service.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3000461
If this does not help, then please follow the steps list below which will give you a Workaround that may help with this problem.
Assign the printer a static IP address
An IP address is an Internet network address that the computer can use to communicate with the printer. Enter a static IP address to make sure that the wireless connection remains stable. Follow these steps to assign the printer a static IP address.
    Get the printer IP address.
Press the Wireless button on the printer control panel to view the network settings.
Access the Network menu on the printer control panel.
Print a Network Configuration Page or Wireless Test Report page.
Once you have the printer's IP address, open a new web browser window or tab.
Type the IP address in your web browser's address bar, and then press Enter.
Make sure that you type the IP address into the browser's address box. If you type it into a tool bar search box, the EWS will not open.
If the message 'There is a problem with this website's security certificate' appears in the web browser when you try to open the embedded web server (EWS), or when you navigate within the EWS, click ' Continue to this website (not recommended)'.
     note:
Choosing 'Continue to this website (not recommended)' will not harm your computer while you navigate within the EWS for your printer. If you encounter this error outside of your printer's EWS, your computer could be at risk.
If the browser fails to open the EWS after you click 'Continue to this website (not recommended)', refresh the browser window.
The Embedded Web Server (EWS) for the printer opens and confirms that the printer is on the same network as the computer.
In the EWS, click the Network tab.
In the Wireless section, click the Network Address (IP) or IPv6 configuration, depending on your network setup.
Click Manual IP, and then click Suggest a Manual IP Address. A manual IP address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway displays.
After the manual IP address populates, click Manual DNS Server.
     note:
Keep a record of the manual IP address for reference.
On the Network Configuration Page you printed earlier, locate the DNS Server addresses, type the DNS addresses in the Manual Preferred DNS Server and Manual Alternate DNS Server fields, and then click Apply.
If the DNS addresses are not listed on the Network Configuration Page, or if you have trouble accessing the network or Internet with the original DNS addresses, use one of the following methods to obtain DNS addresses.
Method one: Use publicly available DNS server addresses
Configure the printer using publicly available DNS server addresses. To find available DNS server addresses, search online for 'public DNS servers'.
After you find public DNS server addresses, type the addresses in the Manual Preferred DNS Server and Manual Alternate DNS Server fields, and then click Apply.
Method two: Get the network DNS information via your computer
Select your operating system, and then use the following directions to obtain the DNS server addresses.
Right-click the Start button () or the lower left corner of the screen, click Run, type cmd, and then press Enter.
When the command window opens, type ipconfig /all, and then press Enter. Information about the computer's network displays.
Scroll to and locate the DNS Server addresses.
In the EWS, type the DNS addresses in the Manual Preferred DNS Server and Manual Alternate DNS Server fields, and then click Apply.
Print a test page to make sure that the printer's IP address is the same as you assigned.
Right-click the Start button () or the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, type HP and click your printer in the results. Click Utilities, and then click Update IP address to update the address in the software.
Adding a Wireless Network Printer using Control Panel
Go to Control Panel and choose Devices and Printers
    Click on Add Printer
The PC will search the local network and display the network printers.
Choose the printer and select Next
The system will then try and auto select a compatible driver
Select the current driver and Click Next
The system will then ask for a name for the printer. The user can change the name and then click Next
The User can then choose to share the printer
The user can select to make this new printer the default and then click Finish.
The new printer is now setup but this printer may be using the In OS driver (Class) rather than the HP Full Function driver.
To change the printer to use the HP Full Function driver follow the following instructions. I would recommend changing the driver to the HP Full Function driver as the User can then use features such as Custom paper sizes.
Go back into Control Panel and choose devices and Printers, right click on the newly created printer and choose Printer Properties
    Choose the Advanced Tab
Click on the driver section drop down and choose the Driver for the printer that does not have the words Class driver after it.
Click apply and then OK and the driver will be changed to the HP Full Function driver for the printer.
The user should try this configuration and see if they still experience problems.
    Please Note:
DO NOT Remove the Original Printer Icon from Devices and Printers as the HP Printer Assistant will stop working.

    I work for HP

I have the printer offline problem. It started when I ran out of toner. I have now installed a new toner cartridge.
Your solution does not help me because I have tried to install Win8.1 and it failed.
I would just reinstall my printer but I have a long list of items in my print queque and I don't want to lose them.
    Is there another solution?
Or is there a way I can save the print queue?

  • Media Offline problem...

I'm having a problem with getting the dreaded red bar saying my media is offline. Seriously... I've read through past posts and still can't resolved my problem. I captured the media several days ago and have been working on/saving the project very consistently.
Today I went to try and go in to LiveType and for some reason 75% of my clips are now reading offline. So I read the forums and read what I needed to do to reconnect, but now I can't find anything on in my scratch disk folder even remotely related to my project.
What would have caused the clips to go offline? And why aren't they in the scratch disk folder?
I would appreciate any help. This is a project for work that is already way overdue.
    Thanks so much!

Does anyone happen to know why my files wouldn't be in the Capture Scratch folder? Can they just delete themselves?
Yes, files do seem to go missing by themseleves.
Read the info on this previous post and follow any links:
    http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=5030009
The info relates to Soundtrack but I think the priciple/bug is the same in your case. Loosing files occurs during the import/export process. At this stage, no clear answer is known. Just workarounds.

  • WRt54G gateway offline problem

when i log onto MSN on a networked computer, it randomly wont work and when i go to the troubleshooter it tells me that the garteway is offline. Wile this happens my browser wont load web pages. it will serch for them, but then it ont load anything. also when i use the windows tool to conect, it always says "not connected" next to network when i try loging on. cans omeone please help me?

Some DSL providers vary on the idle time out time so to be on the save side I set all my (and clients) routers for 30 seconds.  some people set it to 20 seconds but I have not had a problem with just 30 seconds.  Also you may want to call your ISP and see what their MTU setting is and set your routers MTU to match.

  • IChat online/offline problem

I have just set up my ichat account and have only one buddy but with my status set at available, and i can see her as online in my list I am offline on her list. She can't call me but when I try calling her nothing comes up on her screen. I looked at different threads and about changing the port to 443, but everytime i go to change the port when i click away it automatically changes back to 5190. Am i missing something here, or is this a common problem? PLEASE HELP!

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
To Change the port you have to be Logged out (deselect the "Use This Account" in the Account Info tab)
In iChat 5 when adding a Buddy you type the name in full as in [email protected] or [email protected] or an AIM username (no suffix in most cases)
In iChat 4 and earlier you have to Select the type of Buddy someone is before adding their Name. The software then add the Suffix for @Mac.com and MobileMe (@me.com) Names
Also the person at the other ends needs to Check their iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Security tab settings.
They may have you in the Block List (If set to Block Specific People)
They may Not have you in the Allow List if using Allow Specific People.
(There would be more options/variations/Combinations if you could not see her as well)
Are you sure you are not set to Invisible (Any AIM login Buddy list only - Not Jabber) ?
Has she got her Mac Firewall ON ?
System Preferences > Security > Firewall
    If On is iChat Allowed
In Snow Leopard this in in the Advanced Button where "Allow Signed Apps" has to be Enabled - AND - iChat added to the List.
Realistically it looks like two things here
    1) a Naming/permission thing for your name at her computer
    2) A Port/Firewall issue with allowing incoming connections.

  • Online, offline problem.

    Hello everyone.
    I have two mail accounts.
In Mail > mailbox > options 1 + 5 tell me both of my accounts, let's call them A and B, are ONline.
In Mail > Preferences > account info > The A account has its name but no other detail; The B account (Only) has OFFline marked against it. There seems no way of removing the OFFline.
I can send (and receive) TEST emails to myself using account A … but I cannot send normal emails out to anyone else from this account. Account B will not accept or transmit messages of any kind.
There has been problems with the ISP that handles the B account, who's server crashed affecting the Email accounts of many people … but I cannot see how this would affect the A account which is not related in any way.
AND a secondary question. Should I be able to check and/or change the passwords with ISPs without any great problem? In the panic surrounding these events I deleted the password in one of the account info panels and I'm not sure if I replaced it with the same password.
    Grateful thanks for your thoughts.

Sadly, no replies, but Brian Tuffin from the Stormfront Apple re-seller in Maidstone Kent very kindly adjusted the settings that had become disturbed and all now works as it ever did. Well done Stormfront.

  • Exchange Mail Offline Problem when moving/deleting mails

    Hi there,
I am using the Apple Mail Program to connect to my corporate Microsoft Exchange Server. This work perfectly well (also with the calendar, tasks, etc.)
Mail also work s well while I am online.
When I work offline (I often travel in planes in trains) I can write emails, respond to mails and those will be synchronized without any problem when I am back online.
But the strange thins is that Mail sets back all changes in my inbox without any recognizable trigger. Meaning, I am moving emails from the inbox folder to other folders and/or deleting emails from my inbox. After switching from the inbox to another folder, or simply shortly to another program and then coming back, ALL moved and deleted emails show up again in the inbox. This is strange, because I am offline the whole time - thus the expanation that the server synch has changed everything back cannot be. At the same time, written emails stay in the outbox folder and remain there until I go online again.
I asked an apple employee at Genious Bar but he could help me. Another friend of me who uses another corporat Exchange Server experiences the same  problem. Can anyone help?

One thing that may help is to go to Mail Preferences, Accounts, and in your account under the Advanced tab select the check box for "Prompt me to skip messages over xxx kB" (where you indicate how many kB). This can reduce the download times by factors of 2 to 4 or more, depending on the size of the attachments.
I think the more specific control you are looking for that is analogous to what you can do on the iPhone and iPad might not be available on the computer versions of Mail.
Edit added: I just noticed that the above option is only available for POP accounts, but not for Exchange (IMAP) accounts, so unfortunately it may not apply to your account.

  • Ongoing offline problem

    Hi
I'm getting no sense out of Customer Services so hope another sufferer / BT staff can help.
I went with BT Vision about 12 months ago as we can't get cable in our area and I wanted a backup for Sky.   Total Broadband has been flawless but BT Vision has been awful.   The freeview side of things works fine - very good.   But the box goes offline literally every day and takes either a power cyrcle of the router and or the box itself (multiple times usually) to sort.
Several calls to customer services have identified this as a known flaw and asked me to be patient.   I'm a patient man - but 12 months - do me a favour.   This at a time when the red button services has also been "coming" for at least 6 months.
Last I heard from customer services, I should expect to reboot the router and BT Vision box every day.
    a) this is differnet to any other freeview or Sky box I've ever had
    b) I wasn't told this at the time
    c) inconvenient if (like me) you have it recording stuff off the radio in the early hours so it can't be done overnight without missing recordings.
Altogether pretty rubbish really - does anyone have any answers before I abandon for Talktalk and Youview?
    Cheers
    Rob

I had trouble with Vision routing trough another hub after my HH3, some pixelation and a couple of reboots, so I ran a cable directly from the HH3 to the Vision box - problem solved. I think this may be your problem.
Thanks for this.   The problem I have with this as an explanation is that the cable from the first hub to the second is carrying data in the other direction from my other router to my study - and no problems at all.   I've ensured the BTHub isn't conflicting with the rest of the network by setting different subnet masks and even tested without my other router connected - but nothing fixes it.   It's almost as though if the BT Hub isn't right next to the Vision box - there are problems.
Out of interest, I'm in contract with BT until late December, does anyone know whether moving to Infinity will fix this?
    Cheers

  • Ovi map search offline problem

Whenever I search for a location offline on my E72, I end up with no results available.
After fiddling with my phone for the better half of a day (including first using online search then turning off the internet to use offline search), I tried deleting all the maps on my memory card and installing only the maps for the areas I need through the OVI suite. Having read earlier threads on this topic, I was sure to wait until the index files were fully transferred.
Now the offline search works, but only for locations within my own city. For locations in the neighboring city, though only a few dozen miles away, I end up again with no results available.
Is this normal or is there any other way I can try fixing it? Thanks.

    Hi sherryglass
Unfortunately I think it is also related to size of country, as with world maps on E72 I can do detailed search of UK "Offline" but say for example USA it has to be "Online"; that said access point in OVI Maps application can be via WLAN or network.

  • HUGE "Media Offline" Problem. Looking for life raft. PLease save me

So I think I may have deleted about 60 Gigs of video and I'm curious if anyone out there might be a wizard in the dark, and might be able to save me from drowning in my own despair.
    The situation:
I've been capturing clips into iMovie and then transferring files from the iMovie Media bin into the Final Cut Express bin. I have also been putting items into my trash bin all along that I didn't want. Recently, I saw there were trash items in iMovie and it asked if I wanted them anymore. I checked to make sure all the files were also in Final Cut Express bin, and then said ok. Now half of my media is offline. Is there any way of getting it back? Any sort of Trash Recovery program for Macs? Anything? ....
    Thanks again,
    Yours Truly,
    A Drowning Soul.
P.S. I have a 16 day deadline. That's even hard to write, let alone think...

If by moved them into the FCE bin you mean a bin in the browser then you didn't do anything except tell FCE where the material was. If you then delete the material it's gone. There is no way to recapture iMovie material because it has no timecode. You might want to do a finder search just to see if some of the clips are still on your hard drive, but if they're not you'll have to recapture the material.
