Anyone know where it is talking about which needs this PURGE,APPEND,RESTART,MEGABYTES OR MAXFILES ?
Thanks.

You have a syntax error in the extract parameter file. You don't add rmttrail in the manner you have written now. Specify remote host, manager port, and the name/id of the rmttrail. On the target, you add rmttrail.
The line in the parameter file goes from this:
rmttrail add exttrail /u01/app/oracle/product/ggs/dirdat/lt
to this:
rmttrail /u01/app/oracle/product/ggs/dirdat/lt

i received the following message while i was on my macbook air "you do not have enough space in your start up disk - you must delete some files"-restarted; only got startup noise then blank screen. i waited for a few minutes to see if it would load - nothing just the lit up screen but nothing loaded - held power button it asked did i really want to turn off - i selected shutdown -turned off and left it off for awhile tried to turn on no noise no screen load. the same lit up screen but nothing loading.  please help thx in advance if anyone can offer some suggestions

You can get there from here (booting normally); it just may take you a few steps to do it.
If the disk is almost full and the system won't boot then sometimes it will boot in Safe Mode.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564?viewlocale=en_US
Empty the trash after it boots.
Then for hints on how to free disk/SSD storage see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5872318?tstart=0
If the Safe Mode boot does not do the trick then you can install OS X on an external hard disk, boot from that, and then delete files.  You can also reach the disk via Target Mode.  A third option is to take it to an Apple store where they can do a network boot and help you remove some files.

  • After suspension of hard drive activity, my mac is unable to restart (I must shut down and restart)

when occurs a suspension of hard drive activity, manually or after a period of inactivity, this suspension seems to be incomplete (a ventilator continue to run)
therfore my mac (powermac G5, OS 10.4.11) is unable to restart, no possible action from the keyboard (I must shut down and restart)
is it a known problem ?

I have zapped the pram (5 times)
I have reformatted the hard disk
I have reinstalled all properly (with full updates to 10.4.11)
there is no more problem with classic (il was probably caused by spoiled files)
    but the suspension problem persists
it appears that it is probably not the hard disk suspension but the system suspension that is problematic :
when I set preferences so as to accept disk suspension as often as possible, but so as to avoid system suspension (set to "never"), there is no problem
does it exist a specific hardware use to manage suspension and reactivation, and is it tested in apple hardware test ?

  • After infrastructure restart, we must do the same (restart) with middle tie

After infrastructure restart, we must do the same (restart) with middle tier?
We have 2 nodes, one with infrastructure and the other with the middle tier (bi and forms).
After a failure in the node that contain the infrastructure and restart it, we need to restart the middle tier in the other node, or the middle tier instance follow alive and continue work ok after infrastructure is up and runing?
    Tx four your help!
    Diego.

    The correct start'n'stop orders are:
    Start
    Start Infrastructure
    Start Mid-Tier(s)
    Stop
    Stop Mid-Tier(s)
    Stop Infrastructure
The Mid-Tier depends on the infrastructure (sso, repository database etc) and must always be stopped before stoppen the infrastructure.

  • Received message left in inbox get purged after restarting thunderbird

Sometimes when I leave received message in my inbox, rather than disposing of them in some other way, graand then close Thunderbird, the message get purged the next time I restart the program. How I make sure that any messages in the inbox will stay until I dispose of them myself.

Look at Account Settings -> Server Settings -> Message Storage and uncheck "Clean up ("Expunge") Inbox on Exit"
I'm assuming you use IMAP. Did that work?

My Sprint 8830 will randomly glitch, the screen will go black and the light will stay red.  The only way to restart the phone is to remove the battery and go through an extended loading process.
I currently don't have insurance so I'm hesitant to report the issue to Sprint.  Has anyone had this problem? My phone is less than one year old.
    Any direction?

8.5MB file free is low. You have low memory. Or your device does.
First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free? Now, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot. What is the File Free now?

  • Firefox starts to use 50% of processor every day and must be shutdown and restarted to correct.

Firefox, everyday if it is used, will begin consuming 50% of processor (when viewing task manager). It has happened multiple times during the day. Restarting Firefox corrects the problem. It slows both Firefox and any program being run. If Firefox is shut down, the computer does not slow down. Processor hogging seems to occur while Firefox is being used as opposed to when it sits and other programs are being used. Multiple anti-virus scans have been done on the system and no problems have been found. This same thing occurred with Version 27 and 29.

Try Firerfox in it's safe mode and with all plugins disabled, if that helps maybe enable the addons one at a time as you do not have many and you could find one of those is a problem.

  • How to reconfigure and restart GoldenGate Replication from MySQL to Oracle after a DDL operation on the source

I succesfully configured and performed the goldengate replication from MySQL 5.1 to Oracle XE 11g using GG 11g as per
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/goldengate/11g/GGS_Sect_Config_UX_MSQ_to_UX_ORA.pdf
After replication was successully started working I added a new column to one of the test tables TCUSTMER
    ALTER TABLE TCUSTMER ADD COLUMN ADDRESS VARCHAR(64) DEFAULT NULL;
And inserted another row in the same table.
    INSERT INTO TCUSTMER VALUES ('CLARK', 'CLARK BOATS', 'REDWOOD',  'CA', 'Test Addresss1');
As soon as I did that the replication broke.
2015-04-16 17:42:44  ERROR   OGG-00146  VAM function VAMRead returned unexpected result: error 600 - VAM Client Report <CAUSE OF FAILURE : Table Metadata Altered cause

Then I reverted the DDL change back to original
    ALTER TABLE TCUSTMER DROP COLUMN ADDRESS;
and tried to run the replication again
But it is not starting as before.
What should I do to move forward with same setup.

    Hi ,
Whenever you do a DDL change in the Source table, you have to make the same changes in the Target side also. Then recreate the Definition File, copy it to the Target side and Start the GoldenGate processes.
    1. Add the column in the Target side.
    2. Recreate the Definition File and copy it to the Target side.
    3. Recreate the Replicat process in the Target side and try to start it.
Hope this works..!!!!!!!! Any other suggestions friends????????

  • SQL Server - Extract Error - OGG-00868  Supplemental logging is disabled

    Hello,
We are trying to replicate from a SQL Server 2008 database to Oracle database, but when trying to start the extract process we are getting the following error message:
OGG-00868 Supplemental logging is disabled for database 'GoldenGate'. To enable logging, perform the following: 1) Set 'trunc. log on chkpt.' to false. 2) Create a full backup of the database. Please refer to the "Oracle GoldenGate For Windows and UNIX Administration Guide" for details.
I have read that for enabling the supplemental logging is enough to "add trandata table_name", and this is done, and the extract process we are using is the following:
    EXTRACT cap_or4
    SOURCEDB GoldenGate
    TRANLOGOPTIONS MANAGESECONDARYTRUNCATIONPOINT
    EXTTRAIL c:\GoldenGate\V28983-01-GG-111112-SQLServer-Windows-x64\dirdat\C4
    TABLE GoldenGate.dbo.DES_T1;
And the 'trunc.log on chkpt' is set to false.
We don’t know what else to do, or to check... does anyone have any idea?!
Thank you very much, best regards,
    Araitz.-

Have you followed all the process for installing as per the guide? clearly you missed something
    Please follow below steps.
Installation & Configuration of Oracle GoldenGate for MS SQL Server:
    Pre-requisites:
1.Change Data Capture (CDC) must be enabled for Oracle GoldenGate and will be enabled by Oracle GoldenGate by means of the ADD TRANDATA command.
2.SQL Server source database must be set to use the full recovery model.
3.Oracle GoldenGate does not support system databases.
4.After the source database is set to full recovery, a full database backup must be taken.
5.SQL Server 2008 ODBC/OLE DB: SQL Server Native Client 10.0 driver
6.Oracle GoldenGate processes can use either Windows Authentication or SQL Server Authentication to connect to a database.
7.Before installing Oracle GoldenGate on a Windows system, install and configure the Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package. Make certain it
is the SP1 version of this package, and make certain to get the correct bit version for your server. This package installs runtime components of Visual C++
Libraries. For more information, and to download this package, go to http://www.microsoft.com.
    Privileges:
1.Required SQL Server privileges for Manager when using Windows authentication
    Extract(source system)
BUILTIN\Administrators account must be a member of the SQL Server fixed server role System Administrators.
Account must be a member of the SQL Server fixed server role System Administrators
    Replicat (target system)
BUILTIN\Administrators account must be at least a member of the db_owner fixed database role of the target database.
Account must be at least a member of the db_owner fixed database role of the target database.
2.Required SQL Server privileges for Extract and Replicat when using SQL Server authentication
Extract - Member of the SQL Server fixed server role System Administrators.
Replicat - At least a member of the db_owner fixed database role of the target database.
    Downloading Oracle GoldenGate
Download the appropriate Oracle GoldenGate build to each system that will be part of the Oracle GoldenGate configuration.
    1. Navigate to http://edelivery.oracle.com.
    2. On the Welcome page:
    --Select your language.
    --Click Continue.
    3. On the Export Validation page:
    --Enter your identification information.
--Accept the Trial License Agreement (even if you have a permanent license).
    --Accept the Export Restrictions.
    --Click Continue.
    4. On the Media Pack Search page:
--Select the Oracle Fusion Middleware Product Pack.
--Select the platform on which you will be installing the software.
    --Click Go.
    5. In the Results List:

    --Click Continue.
    6. On the Download page:
--Click Download for each component that you want. Follow the automatic download
process to transfer the mediapack.zip file to your system.
    Installing the Oracle GoldenGate files
    1. Unzip the downloaded file(s) by using WinZip or an equivalent compression product.
    2. Move the files in binary mode to a folder on the drive where you want to install Oracle GoldenGate. Do not install Oracle GoldenGate into a folder that contains spaces in its name, even if the path is in quotes. For example:
    C:\“Oracle GoldenGate” is not valid.
    C:\Oracle_GoldenGate is valid.
    3. From the Oracle GoldenGate folder, run the GGSCI program.
    4. In GGSCI, issue the following command to create the Oracle GoldenGate working
    directories.
    CREATE SUBDIRS
a.Create the necessary working directories for GG.
    Source DB:
    GGSCI>create subdirs
    Target DB:
    GGSCI>create subdirs
    Install the GoldenGate Manager process
    1.Create a GLOBALS parameter file
--Execute the following commands from the <install location>.
    GGSCI> EDIT PARAMS ./GLOBALS
--In the text editor, type the following:
    MGRSERVNAME <mgr service>
Using a GLOBALS file in each GoldenGate instance allows you to run multiple Managers as services on Windows. When the service is installed, the Manager name
is referenced in GLOBALS, and this name will appear in the Windows Services control panel.
Note! Check to ensure that the GLOBALS file has been added in the GoldenGate installation directory and that it does not have an extension.
--Execute the following command to exit GGSCI.
    GGSCI> EXIT
    2. Install the Manager service
Execute the following command to run GoldenGate’s INSTALL.EXE . This executable installs Manager as a Windows service and adds GoldenGate events to the
    Windows Event Viewer.
    Shell> INSTALL ADDSERVICE ADDEVENTS
Note: Adding the Manager as a service is an optional step used when there are multiple environments on the same system or when you want to control the name
of the manager for any reason.
    Configuring an ODBC connection
A DSN stores information about how to connect to a SQL Server database through ODBC (Open Database Connectivity). Create a DSN on each SQL Server source
    and target system.
NOTE: Replicat will always use ODBC to query the target database for metadata.
To create a SQL Server DSN
    1. Run one of the following ODBC clients:
--If using a 32-bit version of Oracle GoldenGate on a 64-bit system, create the DSN by running the ODBCAD32.EXE client from the %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64
    folder.
--If using a 64-bit version of Oracle GoldenGate on a 64-bit system, create a DSN by running the default ODBCAD32.EXE client in Control Panel>Administrative
    Tools>Data Sources (ODBC).
--If using a version of Oracle GoldenGate other than the preceding, use the default ODBC client in Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Data Sources (ODBC).
    2. In the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box of the ODBC client, select the System DSN tab, and then click Add.
    3. Under Create New Data Source, select the correct SQL Server driver as follows:
--SQL Server 2000: SQL Server driver
--SQL Server 2005: SQL Native Client driver
--SQL Server 2008: SQL Server Native Client 10.0 driver
    4. Click Finish. The Create a New Data Source to SQL Server wizard is displayed.
    5. Supply the following:
--Name: Can be of your choosing. In a Windows cluster, use one name across all nodes in the cluster.
--Server: Select the SQL Server instance name.
    6. Click Next.
    7. For login authentication, select With Windows NT authentication using the network login ID for Oracle GoldenGate to use Windows authentication, or select
With SQL Server authentication using a login ID and password entered by the user for Oracle GoldenGate to use database credentials. Supply login information
    if selecting SQL Server authentication.
    8. Click Next.
    9. If the default database is not set to the one that Oracle GoldenGate will connect to,
click Change the default database to, and then select the correct name. Set the other
    settings to use ANSI.
    10. Click Next.
    11. Leave the next page set to the defaults.
    12. Click Finish.
    13. Click Test Data Source to test the connection.
    14. Close the confirmation box and the Create a New Data Source box.
    15. Repeat this procedure from step 1 on each SQL Server source and target system.
Setting the database to full recovery model
Oracle GoldenGate requires a SQL Server source database to be set to the full recovery model.
To verify or set the recovery model
    1. Connect to the SQL Server instance with either Enterprise Manager for SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server Management Studio for SQL Server 2005 and 2008.
    2. Expand the Databases folder.
    3. Right-click the source database, and then select Properties.
    4. Select the Options tab.
    5. Under Recovery, set Model to Full if not already.
    6. If the database was in Simple recovery or never had a Full database backup, take a Fulldatabase backup before starting Extract.
    7. Click OK.
    Enabling supplemental logging
These instructions apply to new installations of Oracle GoldenGate for all supported SQL Server versions. You will enable supplemental logging with the ADD
TRANDATA command so that Extract can capture the information that is required to reconstruct SQL operations on the target. This is more information than
what SQL Server logs by default.
--SQL Server 2005 updated to CU6 for SP2 or later: ADD TRANDATA calls the sys.sp_extended_logging stored procedure.
--SQL Server 2005 pre-CU6 for SP2: ADD TRANDATA creates the following:
A replication publication named [<source database name>]: GoldenGate<source database name> Publisher. To view this publication, look under Replication>Local
Publications in SQL Server Management Studio. This procedure adds the specified table to the publication as an article.
A SQL Server Log Reader Agent job for the publication. This job cannot run concurrently with an Extract process in this configuration.
--SQL Server 2008: ADD TRANDATA enables Change Data Capture (CDC) and creates a minimal Change Data Capture on the specified table.
a.Oracle GoldenGate does not use the CDC tables other than as necessary to enablesupplemental logging.
b.As part of enabling CDC, SQL Server creates two jobs per database: <dbname>_capture and <dbname>_cleanup. The <dbname>_capture job adjusts the secondary
truncation point and captures data from the log to store in the CDC
tables. The <dbname>_cleanup job ages and deletes data captured by CDC.
c.Using the TRANLOGOPTIONS parameter with the MANAGESECONDARYTRUNCATIONPOINT option for Extract removes the <dbname_capture> job, preventing the overhead of
the job loading the CDC tables.
d.The alternative (using TRANLOGOPTIONS with NOMANAGESECONDARYTRUNCATIONPOINT) requires the SQL Server Agent to be running and requires the <dbname>_capture and <dbname>_cleanup jobs to be retained. You will probably need to adjust the <dbname>_cleanup data retention period if the default of three days is not acceptable for storage concerns.
    To enable supplemental logging
    1. On the source system, run GGSCI.
    2. Log into the database from GGSCI.
    DBLOGIN SOURCEDB <DSN>[, USERID <user>, PASSWORD <password>]
    Where:
-- SOURCEDB <DSN> is the name of the SQL Server data source.
-- USERID <user> is the Extract login and PASSWORD <password> is the password that is required if Extract uses SQL Server authentication.
    3. In GGSCI, issue the following command for each table that is, or will be, in the Extract configuration. You can use a wildcard to specify multiple table
    names, but not owner names.
    ADD TRANDATA <owner>.<table>
NOTE:The Log Reader Agent job cannot run concurrently with the GoldenGate Extract process.

  • DP Process in abended state with WARNING OGG-01223  TCP/IP error 111 (Connection refused).

    Hi,
I've configured ogg between primary & DR server. I'm continuously getting the following error in my primary server for DP process & sometimes for EXTRACT process after which process goes in abended state.
    WARNING OGG-01223  TCP/IP error 111 (Connection refused).
After starting the process manually, it comes in Running state. But this is frequent issue I'm facing for OGG configuration at my end.
Please find the parameter details & report log details as follows:

    Regards,

    - check your remote host server is up and running.
    - check mgr process is up and running on target site.
    - try this and see if network connection is OK..
    telnet 10.10.250.198 7809
    - try to copy a file (scp) from source to target (take a dummy file; size bigger than tcpbufsize)
    - check ggserr.log file on target; you might see if there are any issues with server/collector port allocation/timeout.
    hope this helps...
    Thanks.

  • How do I purge transactions in OC4J

I came across this in the services guide:
When configuring the Transaction Coordinator, a server restart is required for the changes to take effect. In addtion, all transactions must be purged before shutdown.
How do I purge all of my transactions? Clicking on Rollback on the Transaction Manager page doesn't seem to do anything.
    thanks,
    Peter

    Hello,
you can do that, BUT DW starts - in my German DW at least - with a blank screen except the menu bar.
You have to take away the checkmark in this way (translated from my German DW): > edit (Bearbeiten) > settings (Voreinstellungen) > generally (Allgemein) > document options (Dokumentoptionen) > show welcome screen (Begrüßungsbildschirm anzeigen) > see screenshot)
I for my part don't remove it, I see it as a good thing to be able to open the last files by a simple cklick e.g.

  • After using an external HD for time machine back up, MacBook Pro unable to restart

I just bought a new MacBook Pro, before starting to transfer anything from my old MacBook Pro, I did a Time Machine backup on the new external HD (did not use the original ext. HD that I usually used to do my back ups). The back up was successful, I ejected the ext. HD, my old Mac went to sleep and I was not able to wake it up. I restarted it but each time I get a message in several languages that I must turn off and restart again. Done it but doesn't work. I tried to restart it by plugging the ext. HD but didn't work either. Tried to restart it by pressing on "shift", did see the bar trying to restore, but eventually the bar disappears and the grey spin starts then freeze, then computer goes into coma. What to do?

    Richard Anderson1 wrote:
I am a little confused. I have an internal drive that I want to back-up to an external drive. BUT also, more importantly actually, I have an external that has total different contents than the internal and I also want to back that up. Will time machine do that?
Yes, as long as the drive is formatted properly.
In other words I want to back internal to "drive B"and I want to back up "drive A" (that has totally different contents than internal) to B drive as well. Can that be done in time machine?
While drive "A" is connected and mounted, go to +System Preferences > Time Machine > Options.+ If it's listed in the exclusion list in black, just select it, click the minus sign, then Done. It will be backed-up on the next backup, along with your internal HD.
But if it's listed in gray, you can't remove it. That means it's not formatted properly. You'll have to copy the data elsewhere temporarily, reformat, then copy it back. See #1 in [Formatting, Partitioning, Verifying, and Repairing Disks|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/DU.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of the +Using Snow Leopard+ forum).

  • Tableview : Modify/Update/Append

    Hello All,
I have a tableview with entries from a Database table.
I have 3 columns in this table view.
Out of all the 3 columns ,I made only one column editable ( 2nd column ).
1, Now if i change the value in the 2nd column the internal table of the table view must get modified with the changed value .
After that I'll modify the corresponding database table
I want this to be acheived without selecting any line of the tableview after the changes.
    can it be done ?
2, What is the procedure if I want to append one more entry to the table view .and also the appended line must also be appended to the internal table .
    Regards,

    Hello Raja,
I tried as per ur code.
But our gv_row is type i.
So it's not concatenating as it needs type char or N or D or T.
So I wrote the code like this :-
    data: gv_row type string,
            gv_len type i,
            cell_id type string.
    loop at gt_usr_par into wa_usr_par.
    clear gv_row.
    gv_row = sy-tabix.
    gV_len = strlen( gv_row ).
    gv_len = gv_len - 1.
    concatenate 'usr_parameters_tab' '_' gv_row(gV_len) '_' '2' into cell_id .
    value = request->get_form_field( name = cell_id ).
    if wa_usr_par-parva <> value.
    clear wa_usr_par-parva.
    wa_usr_par-PARVA = value.
    modify gt_usr_par from wa_usr_par.
    endif.
    endloop.
    Now it's working fine.
Thanks Raja for ur valuable reply.
    Points are awarded . (: (;

  • PC Card Requires Restart?

I've just bought a Wireless PCMCIA Card for my Powerbook 17" because the internal Airport has failed. Though I find that if I remove the card I have to restart.
For example if I want to use my CF Card reader I must remove the card, restart then insert the CF Card. Then to get back on the wireless I must remove the CF Card, restart, then insert the Wireless card.
Is this normal behaviour? I always thought that PCMCIA was hot-swappable.
    Cheers,
    Mark

This is not normal. The fact your airport card is fried in a 17", which was a built-in card to begin with says there may be other things which have fried along with it. Have it serviced by an authorized service technician.
