Oh crap, did I just make my life a lot harder?
Dear All,
I was moving photo's from one small external drive to larger external drive using the Finder on my i-mac. Afte they came over I thought I'd do the right thing and rename my folders so they'd be more descriptive. The I start lightroom 2.6 and after I selected a Photo the prompt came up saying "missing Photo", would you like to relink it? I did, so I relinked it and that photo was fine.........then of course I wanted to relink all 1200 photo's..not one at a time, but the 7 different folders that I just renamed...I now understand that I cant relink my folders with all those photo's because I've renamed the folders...aaauuuggghhh......really...do I have any options that would not make me do them all individually?

Ok this afternoon i updated my computer, it looked fine didn't seem like much of a problem, but when i finally decided to sync my photos and organise my photos in iPhoto it was so bad! I could not tell where everything is and now it is HARDER! to move my photos around! APPLE SHOULD HAVE KEPT THE OLD LAYOUT! I mean seriously, if you wanted change, change the colours maybe! not the entire layout! i want my organising easy, but apple now you have disappointed me!

But I would say that simply telling them that it got more difficult is pointless. You have to tell them how it is more difficult. -
Apple moved my Outlook from my PC over to the MAC and it is now on my desktop but I cannot open it. I click on the folder and when opened it has two folders, one for each of my email accounts and when I click on the one I want, it just makes a new email to be sent. I even dragged it to the download folder and that did not good.
It will also ask me to use another program to open it. I click on Mail and again it makes another email. HELP!!! I have tons of emails that I need to keep tract of my work. Any help would be wonderful.

I don't have any knowledge of jQuery but had a go anyway at trying to fix this using this link http://api.jqueryui.com/datepicker/ as aid to try adjust my code. Obviously I couldn't get it to work so far... So I'm looking for a little bit of help from anyone who knows a bit of jQuery.

that we export our swf, we have to make sure that we f'in mask out
the working area? What genius came up with that bulls**t?? Also,
when we put actions on buttons we have to go thru a lot more sh*t
with typing up all the scripts?? not to mention they are a hell of
lot more bugs!!! c'mon Macromedia, some of us have time constraint
with real deadllnes, so why all the innefficiencies and added

I just bought an iphone 4s--upgraded from a Droid smartphone. On my old bill my data plan is "email & web unlimited" for $29.99. Did I made a mistake when ordering the new phone--I clicked on the 2G plan and that is what is shown in my order. Did I just give up my grandfathered plan? I really don't understand all this stuff. Could someone help me understand if that "email & web unlimited" was the grandfathered unlimited data plan I keep seeing discussed on this forum? Does that allow me to upload pictures, stream radio/movies, etc.? Or do I really need one of the tiered plans like the 2G? I will try to revise my order through customer service if need be. No, this is not the grandfathered unlimited plan. As soon as you activate your phone, you should call Verizon and have your unlimited plan reinstated. The 2GB plan shouldn't take effect until you activate your new phone, but you could just check to make sure. Once the 2GB plan takes effect, you should have 14 days to have the unlimited plan reinstated, or you will lose it for good. -
I purchased doc mcstuffins on the iPad. Downloaded several times which takes at least a day to do. Still unable to view episodes. Akers for a frustrated mommy & 3yr old. Did I just waste $30????

Don't take your laptop back. Find out the number for Apple Care in your part of the world and call them. Tell your story to them. If the person on the phone can't help you, ask for their supervisor. As for "crappy computers"--my MBA has worked flawlessly since the day I got it. As good if not better than any Apple laptop I've ever had, and I've had several.This is the thing though, there is a percentage of failure rate that occurs in electronics. It occurs whether we're talking about televison sets or toasters. If it's electric, it has that failure rate. Now sometimes a thing will be bad and in that case the word gets out and everyone knows that particular electronic has surpassed the normal failure percentage. The Airs, however, have not done that. Their reputation, so far, has been incredibly solid and good. So you can assume that you, unfortunately, got one out of that small percentage of electronics that have an issue.
Laptops, let us remember, are doing a lot in a very small area. A lot can go wrong, and it's pretty amazing how many don't, especially given how many are made and sold. Sometimes we get the bad apple in the barrel, it doesn' t mean that the company making it has gone down hill. We hope the manager of the store, or the company, or someone will do right by us. If they don't, then we need to make sure they do. Keep asking for upper management till you get what you want. -

I did a clean install - I did not have any paperwork or info for the computer because it was given to me after my FIL died. I used my own apple ID not my FIL's.
There was no difficulty at any point.
I set up my Mac next to my PC and ran the tutorial on the PC while I worked on the reset. Make sure you have all day because it's very time consuming.
I am a slightly technical person, but no computer whiz - so don't be afraid to tackle this on your own.
After I reset to factory default, I upgraded to Mountain Lion for $20. That was also simple to do.
I did not back up any files since there wasn't anything on the computer I wanted to keep. You will have to back up any files you wish to keep because this clean install will be just that - very clean - nothing was left except the OS. -
Did firefox just have an update?
It's 12 am and I usually wake up around this time for some odd reason. So, I get on my laptop, and I see that I forgot to close a popup that was produced when I was looking at lyrics to a song. After I closed it out, I saw another window that said something like "firefox needs to update". So, without thinking, I clicked it. Did I just mess up really bad, or did I NOT just make a huge mistake?

Why did 6.1update make iPad nearly useless?
6.1 update not only screwed my phone, it put all kinds bugs into the iPad apps that weren't there before the update. The battery drain is now significant. Screwed the iPad as well as the phone. Apple, when you lost your leader, you lost your brain.

I'm a school tech coordinator. I have many computers and many iPads. I apologize if there is a some place that has all the rules governing the use of Apple IDs. I looked, and I even tried to get the answers from multiple Apple rep's. I couldn't find the answers.
How many Apple IDs can I have per device?
I want to use the same computer to sync and backup many iOS devices. The iOS devices would be associated with different Apple IDs.
I may load apps under a school Apple ID and have users load their own apps under thier own ID.
How many devices can have the same Apple ID?
Can I use the same Apple ID on all the computers in a lab?
Can I use the same Apple ID on all iPads for a particular grade level?
Are the rules different for iOS devices and computers?
I know that there are limits on "authorize" and "de-authorize" and how frequently those things can be done.
Recently I heard that for the life of an iOS device, it can only be associated with five Apple IDs. That is not good for a school giving iPads to students in a 1:1

My iPod touch isn't connected or did I just did something wrong on it?
I got my iPod touch yesterday and when I used it for the first time it worked.but when I want to use it the second time my iPod is charging but it has not the sign on it that it is connected to the computer!
I tryed everything I but iTunes back out of my computer and I installed it again but right know I have iTunes without music.Or did I just changed the settings on my iPod?but I looked and it is just fineIt did pay for it if your Apple ID has a credit card on it.

My iMac suddenly can't read the backup hard drive I've been using for Time Machine. I tried unplugging the cord that connects the HD to the iMac and plugging it back in, but I still get "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" below which are buttons for Initialize, Ignore and Eject. I was using a cord that went from larger square plug to larger square plug. So then I tried one that went from smaller square plug to what I think is USB (thin rectangular plug) of the sort that connects the keyboard and mouse. It's the type that my printers and scanners use to connect to the iMac. I did NOT just upgrade the OS or anything. The external HD is an OWC Mercury Elite All Pro. It's worked fine since I got the iMac 4 years ago. What else can I try before just trying to initialize and
Thanks, Michael! I do hear it at times spooling up and running. Just after I bumped the thread I looked for troubleshooting for this drive online and found the manual which suggested using Disk Utility which I've seen before accidentally (if I hit Command Shift U instead of Shift U to type "Unit" on a new folder for a student's homework ) but had never really noticed. Disk Utility does see it and also a sub-something (directory?) which might be the Time Machine archives on the disk, called disk1s2), sort of the way that my iMac's hard drive shows up as 640.14 GB Nitachi HDT7... and has a sub-something titled DB iMac, which is what I named my iMac's hard drive.
Anyway the owner's manual just shows the image under the formatting section, not the troubleshooting section, but as soon as I saw it in the manual I remembered seeing it accidentally a few times, went to it, and am now verifying the disk. Right now it's telling me that it will take 2 hours to complete the verification, so I guess I have a bigt of a wait. :-)
Does that fact that Disk Utilities can see it mean it's not failed, or just that it hasn't completely failed?
I can see the virtue in having multiple redundant backups, or at least two backups. What do you suggest? Two external hard drives? I had this one linked by ethernet, and but I also have a cord that could link it by USB (like a printer), so if this one is reparable I could get a second one and link it by USB. If this one is not reparable I could get two and do the same thing. I do have an Airport so I suppose it's possible to get some sort of Wi-Fi hard drive (my new printer/scanner uses only the network and not a cable, although it has a cable that I used for the initial installation), but I'd suspect a Wi-Fi hard drive might have a higher price.
What hard drives, if any, do you recommend? I seem to recall that when I was looking at external hard drives 4 years ago, Apple's were substantially more expensive, which is why I got the OWC Mercury Elite All Pro. -
Export PDF converts filled PDF form without the data - Turns filled PDF form onto blank Word doc. Is there a solution to this or did Adobe just sell me a service that doesn't work?
ExportPDF is not for forms. In general, converting forms to Word is a really, really bad idea which can even cause legal problems. Work with the form as a PDF. Acrobat (not Reader) can export form data as simple text for example.
