OIF - SP initiated login

We have an OIF 10g implementation with OIF acting as the SP. We have successfully tested IdP initiated login. When we try the connection from the SP, we get an HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden error without displaying the login page. The SP initiated URL is of the form:
https://sp-host:port/fed/sp/sso?providerid=xxxxxxxx.
Any suggestions on what the issue could be?

Hi Vinod,
I did try that URL too, but get the same 403 error. I have the policy domain setup in OAM to protect the resource with the Fed SSO – SAML 2.0/Liberty 1.x authentication scheme. Is there anything else I need to verify that you can think of?
This is what is showing in the logs:

  • ITunes accepts password for initial login but not for Match, account information or automatic downloads

    Hello all,
I have an iMac with 2.0 Ghz core duo running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and the latest iTunes 10.5.1.  iTunes will accept my initial login for purchases and access to the iTunes Store.  But if I attempt to access my account information, enable automatic downloads or iTunes Match, I get a login window that states, "Sign in required."  I enter in the correct password but iTunes does not allow me further access.  It just keeps giving me the same login window over and over.  It does not state that I have entered in the wrong password.
I have attempted a few remedies, all without success:
    1.  Preferences>advanced>reset warnings and reset cache then restart.
    2.  User>library>preferences.  Placed plist preferences for iTunes in trash, then emptied trash.  Restart.
    3.  Reset password.
    4.  Trashed iTunes application, emptied trash.  Downloaded new copy of iTunes 10.5.1.  Restart.
    5.  Delete SC folder and restart computer.
None of these attempts have fixed the problem.  I run the same software on my MacBook with a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo and I have full access without any problems on that computer.  The only problem is with the older iMac.
Any tips or solutions would be most appreciated.
    Thanks.

Well, no I haven't heard from Apple yet. But I'm slightly embarrassed. When I was told there was no way I could combine accounts, the friendly Apple lady suggested I change the ID on the old account to be similar to my new ID. I did that (and promptly forgot about it). Until just now. Once again, I'm able to update my Apps, but it's still annoying you can't combine accounts.
    More than slightly embarrassed,
    Chris

  • Speed up initial login time

I have a problem in my domain environment with Windows 8 computers. Initial login time for new users is much longer than in Windows XP.
    default profile size
    new profile size
    creation time of new profile
    Windows XP
    1,05 MB
    ~6 MB
    ~10 sec.
    Windows 8
    1,36 MB
    ~70 MB
    ~200 sec.
How can I speed up first login time? People in my enviornment very often change their computers and need to login very fast using their own login credentials. They also don't store any private data, workstations are only clients to server
applications. I'm not using roaming profiles.
I've noticed that a lot of space is taken by the files in these directories:
    C:\Users\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache
    WebCacheV01.dat [32 MB]
    C:\Users\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer [13 MB]
    C:\Users\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\SettingSync\metastore [10 MB]
Is the creation of these files so time-consuming?

is that an answer? NO... Windows 8.1 is useless in school environments. How hard can it be to create a fast login experience? This is always been slow since Vista but now it's even slower... "Preparing Windows" if there is no local profile yet (which is
always the case when using roaming profiles in a large computer environment where users constantly change computers). Also what exactly is Windows doing? Because you can ctrl alt del out of it. Also sometimes a black desktop opens... Eventually icons appear.
Please MS... do you even test roaming profiles yourself as they are intended?
We have used roaming profiles for years with no issues when set up correctly.  The logon times after the first logon are about 2 to 3 seconds.
Learning the basics of Windows networking and how to set up and correctly administer Windows in a domain is critical. Those who refuse to do the learning always end up complaining about how Windows doesn't work.  They fail to see how it uncovers their
    lack of training.
Oh - yes.  On a brand new profile(never logged in before), if you remote to it it will show a black desktop.  Logoff and on and the desktop will return to the default.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Portlet Errors at Initial Login

We are receiving random portlet errors upon initial login. It simply says "Error" in the portlet title heading and the portlet contents are not displayed.
Refreshing the web page corrects the problem, but you'd think that a fresh login wouldn't mean it was a caching problem, right? This is happening to all users from different workstations, and different portlets are affected at different times - but always at initial login....
    Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi Katie,
Are there any timeout logs in your provider log files? My guess is that the error is due to timeouts. You could try increasing the provider timeouts to a sizeable amount :)
    thanks,
    Harsha

  • OIF redirection on login failure

We are using OIF 10g as the SP. We have a requirement to redirect the user to a specific URL if their credentials are not found in our federation data store. Currently, if the user successfully authenticates at the IDP but their credentials are not in our federation data store, the single sign-on login page is displayed. We want to change this behavior and display another page instead of the single sign-on login page. Can this be achieved? Thanks.

the strength of the encryption is inversely proportional to the strength of the password
    protecting it.
The problem with file vault is the password cannot be cut and pasted, so the strongest
practical password is the strongest one that you can constantly live with typing it in by
hand every time it is asked for.
In my world, that would mean a very weak password. I'm not going to try to manage a
    monster password from memory.
I use a truecrypt container instead to keep the important stuff safe. I use a thumb drive
(IronKey) to store the monster password and the keyfiles on for the truecrypt container.
After login, I mount the truecrypt container using the password and keyfiles stored on the
    IronKey.
You can create an applescript or bash script to read the password file and save it to the
clipboard, then paste it in the truecrypt login window.
    The terminal command:
    cat /Path/to/passwordfile | pbcopy
(replace "/Path/to/passwordfile" with the proper file path on the thumb drive)
will read the password and copy it to the clipboard. Password will not be echoed
for the world to see either. DO NOT FAIL to clear the clipboard though, copy
something else unimportant to it afterwards.
An automator script or an applescript or a bash script or the CLIX program could be used
to automate the "monster password to clipboard" chore.
If you would rather use an encrypted sparse bundle instead with a monster password
securing it, simply use terminal to mount it instead of clicking it. You can paste in a monster
password to open an encrypted sparse bundle using terminal.
    in terminal;
    at the prompt:
    hdiutil attach /Path/to/sparsebundle
When terminal asks for the password, paste it in, press return.

  • Initial Login Problems with Oracle 10g Express

    Hi,
Can anybody help, im a student trying to use oracle 10g Express for a project, my problem is the express will not allow me to login as an administrator from the word go. I'm using the right user name and password and every time I login the page just refreshes itself with no other prompts. If i type the wrong credentials i get a message saying so and if using the Hr user name and password it says its locked as it should. Ive used the sql prompt to login and this works so i no the password and user name are correct, but id like to use the GUI if i could. Ive unistalled and reinstalled twice still no joy. Any suggestions?

Hey again, thanks for your replies, Yes i have been using SYSTEM and SYS with a password of oracle in the GUI interface. When i use the SQL prompt i use the following to login:
    SQL> conn system/oracle
    connected.
    SQL> Show User
    USER is "SYSTEM"
This says to me that i have logged into the database but still i have no luck in doing the same through the GUI interface using the same credentials.

    Hi KG,
I personally think that its not good design . but you can check the document for autologout
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-contact-center-express/112113-cda-logout-00.html
This document is for autologout agent in specified time . you can make agent ready just after login
if you select event as login . I have tested and verified this in Lab .

  • CS6 trial installation stops at the initial login screen

    Hi guys
I am new to photoshop and photography both. I bought a new PC yesterday with 4K LG display. The PC has gigabythe 9600 display card with 2GB RAM on it. Intel i7 quad core cpu 4 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 250 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD 7200 RPM. REst is on the board (lan and all). I have installed win  7 sp1.
Downloaded CS6 and when I start installation it asks whether I want to try or install with a serial.  I click on try as I haven't bought it yet. It presents the lic agreement and after that asks me to log in. I click on log on button and it shows the busy circle. After a few minutes of that circle it shows an error saying that either the internet is not connected or the system date is wring. My internet is working fine and the system date and time is also correct. I reinstalled the system 3 times but same thing. It's not even showing the login screen. I tried to install without logging in but then it asks to login after the installation and shows the same error.
The same installation works fine on a different laptop. Have I bought an incompatible machine?
If it doesn't work than I will need to put it on ebay as I have no use of this powerful machine as I don't do any gaming.
Your help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

  • Leopard initial login problem!

I just upgraded to Leopard from Tiger and everything went well in the installation, but I got the the login screen and tried to login but everytime it says, "your file-vault protected home folder did not open and needs to be repaired". So I tell it to repair it and to continue logging in, but then it says "logging into user account failed". PLEASE HELP ME!! I have a school project on that computer that i need by monday!

    This worked for me....Good Luck!
found this on the internet. I'm going to try it now.
This might make more sense then the Apple Support Document.
    Insert Your Leopard DVD.
Shutdown and restart holding down C
    pick your language
from the menu go to Utilities
    Pick reset Password
Pick your hard drive (mines Macintosh HD)
From the users list select system Administrator
Enter a password and renter it and select reset
    Quit password reset
    Then quit OS x installer
    Click the restart button
When your system restarts go to system preferences
Accounts and click the unlock button (the padlock in the bottom left hand corner)
It will ask for user name and password
For user name use the name Roots and the password you entered in the password reset.
This should unlock all the greyed out menus.
Check the Allow changes box to give you back Admin status.
    Restart your computer.
This worked for me without another install. Hope it helps.

  • OIF redirect on login failure

Currently, if the user record exists in our database, their federated id is created in OID when they login for the first time. Is there a way to redirect the user to another page if their user record does not exist in our database?

  • Initial login error for EP6 SP09

    Hi everyone,
After installing SP09 to our EP6 portal, we receive java runtime error messages after first-time login with the default user id Administrator. I know one of my colleagues had received a same type of error.
Has everyone faced this problem or a problem similar to this? The issues posted sound very similar. Is this issue solved by the new patch released or is it more of a CPU issue?
    Thanks,
    Jin Bae

    Hi,
I am quite new to SAP EP. I have latest downloads, SP9 for EP6. I have downloaded the web as and maxdb, the ep, and the studio. When i finished all installations, and tried to login into the EP using the default login and password, i keep getting 3-6 java script errors.. U mentioned somethingabout post-installation checks... may I know what these are?

  • BIP Initial LOGIN as Administrator

    hi
I installed BIP along with OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1. on our new DEV ENV. This is fresh install, not an upgrade.I am seeing the BIP login page but when I first try to log in using Administrator/Administrator , it is failing "Login failed, please retry."
I can log in to analytics but not in to BIP.
Can some please help me with this ?
    -Thanks,

    I never try this configuration.
Be aware that BIP works with group.
I suppose that Administrator is not in the group XMLP_ADMIN.
because it's not an LDAP user. No ?
I will recommend you to set up a LDAP security with BIP. It's clearer.
I have only one article with ADSI as Ldap:
    http://gerardnico.com/wiki/bip/ldap_adsi
    Good luck

  • LMS 4.2 initial login

I have just started evaluation of LMS 4.2.
During the installation i was asked to set a password.
I am trying to log in with that password, with username admin, administrator, without luck.
Is admin username something else ?

It shoud be "admin"  *no quotes.  The password should be the one you set forth during the initial installation process.

  • Gnome desktop semi-frozen on initial login... then thaws.

    Hi folks,
I've got a weird problem which I'm hoping you can help diagnose...
On logging into Gnome from XDM the desktop appears as normal but I have no right click menu on the desktop, no main menu and no keyboard input. I can start apps from Cairo-Dock, where Firefox and Thunderbird do have responding menus. Logging out (from Cairo-Dock) and back in immediately solves the problem every time and also, curiously, if I wait for around 5-6 minutes everything starts working again.
I've tried disabling Compiz and also looking through the logs but nothing jumps out at me. This has been happening for a few weeks now and I haven't been able to associate it with any particular update. I've also tried removing .gconf .gconfd .gnome .gnome2 etc but to no avail. Killing Nautilus and restarting makes no difference either.
If anyone could suggest a way to track this down I would be most grateful.

I've tried watching the processes but nothing's racing or out of the ordinary as far as I can tell.

  • Cannot log in to SQL*Plus after initial login

    Hi all,
I have an irritating problem that I am hoping that you can help with. I installed Oracle 10g on RedHat Linux ES 3. Everything seems to be working fine as long as I do not log out my oracle user. If I leave the user logged in everything works as expected. Once I log out, when I log back in I cannot access SQL*Plus normally.
    I enter: sqlplus my_user/my_password
    I get this:
    SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Tue Sep 27 11:59:01 2005
Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.
    ERROR:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment
    Linux Error: 22: Invalid argument
    Additional information: 1
    Additional information: 360457
But, if I enter it with the connection string: sqlplus my_user/my_password@ora1 then it works fine.
I get the same behavior through VNC. As long as I never log out of VNC but just close the session, logging in to SQL*Plus works as normal.
Any thoughts? My ORACLE_BASE, ORACLE_HOME, and ORACLE_SID seem to be correct.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi,
Kill the shared memory process and restart your database.
