OIM 11g R2 My Information date format

Is it possible to change the date format in the MY information page of the identity console. As of now it is showing as mm/dd/yyyy. I would like to change it to dd/mm/yyyy.

I agree with Sagar...
However, changing the DefaultDateFormat will impact application wise while your requirement seems to be regarding MY information page of the identity console only. So, I won't recommend changing the Default Date Format...

• Obiee 11g upgrade issue for date format

Hi,
I am facing a date format issue with obiee 11g report. This statement cast(cast(current_date as char) as timestamp) is failing with "not a valid month" error in obiee 11g. This worked fine with obiee 10g.
I am basically trying to set the date to 12:00:00 am of the sysdate. Below is what I am trying to achieve:
timestampadd(sql_tsi_hour, 1, cast(cast(current_date as char) as timestamp)))
the above statement fails in obiee 11g.
Thanks for your help,
AP

I dont think you need any functions to get the required output, try to set the date format as below
[FMT:timeStampShort]
If helps mark
Thanks

I think with format and then the below should work with no issues.
timestampadd(sql_tsi_hour, 1,current_date)
I think you are wasting time by posting here, just do it. You no need any ones permissions to do it ;)

• Date format mismatch between OIM 11gR2 GTC and backend custom database table (Oracle 11g R2)

Hi,
We have an OIM 11g R2 version running that has a GTC installed and configured. The GTC is used to provision to a 11g R2 database table via the DBAT 9.1.0.5.0 connector. Now the requirement is that the timestamp be recorded in the backend DB when a new record is provisioned to it using the GTC.
During the setup of the GTC, the target system date format is asked for should be one from among the values allowed by the following predefined formats:
Customizing Formats (The Java™ Tutorials > Internationalization > Formatting)
Now our problem is that the target DB to which the provisioning is supposed to happen, isn't under our control and hence we cannot change its schema, and the date format in that table is of the type "01-JAN-10 12.00.00.000000000 AM", which translates to "dd-MMM-yy hh.mm.ss.fffffffff (AM/PM)".
On the other hand, as you can see from the above link, none of the values that OIM allows to be passed through the GTC allow for that format to be used.
Does anyone know of any way in which we can intercept the GTC provisioning request and convert the date on the fly, after OIM has passed on the control, but before the values are written into the DB table, or does anyone know of any workarounds to this issue?
I'd really appreciate it if someone could provide a solution to this.
Thanks.

See 26.6 for the plugin.zip directory structure, and as I said, I used the same method on a previous task in the same OIM instance.

• How to polulate data from lookup using request dataset in OIM 11g

Hi,
Using Request dataset in OIM 11g, I need to display one dropdown with the roles those need to come from Lookup.
For Ex; I have 2 resources,i.e Resource A and Resource B. Resource A has 5 roles and Resource B has 3 Roles.
While creating a request, If I select Resource A, then I should be able to get 5 Roles and if I select Resource B then I should be able to see corresponding 3 roles.
Pls. note I have only one Look up definition , where I have roles for both Resource A and B.
I have done simillar thing in OIM 10g , however I am unable to do it using OIM 11g Request dataset.
Pls suggest.

Hi BB,
I am trying to follow up your response.
You are suggestng to use prepopulate adapter for to populate respource object name, that means We have to just use an sql query from obj tabke to get the resource object name. right ?? it could be like below, what should I have entity-type value here ??
<AttributeReference name="Field1" attr-ref="act_key"
available-in-bulk="false" type="Long" length="20" widget="ENTITY" required="true"
entity-type="????"/>
<PrePopulationAdapter name="prepopulateResurceObject"
classname="my.sample.package.prepopulateResurceObject" />
</AttributeReference>
<AttributeReference name="Field2" attr-ref="Field2" type="String" length="256" widget="lookup-query"
available-in-bulk="true" required="true">
<lookupQuery lookup-query="select lkv_encoded as Value,lkv_decoded as Description from lkv lkv,lku lku
where lkv.lku_key=lku.lku_key and lku_type_string_key='Lookup.xxx.BO.Field2'
and instr(lkv_encoded,concat('$Form data.Field1', '~'))>0" display-field="Description" save-field="Value" />
</AttributeReference>
Then I need think about the 'Lookup.xxx.BO.Field2' format.
Could you please let me know if my understanding is correct?? What is the entity-type value of the first attribute reference value?
Thanks for your all help.

• Reg: End Date equivalent in OIM 11g

Hi All,
In OIM 11g, what is the equivalent of end-date in GTC Flat file reconciliation? What is the format it will accept?
Can someone suggest
Regards,
Karan

The OIM, though reads the date value in YYYY/mm/DD hh:mm:ss - It returns only date without timestamp.
So, Get the string value, Append the value with 00:00:00
Store the appended value in a temp variable.
Then, use your code to change the string to date vaue.
Cheers,
Vamsi.

• OIM 11g r2 ps2. Setting end date for role requests

Hi,
reviewing the new features document on oim 11g r2 ps2: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/id-mgmt/overview/oim-11gr2-whats-new-1709505.pdf
it says "For example, in a request that involves multiple entitlements, the requester might be required to specify the start date and end date for each of the entitlements requested. OIM enables requesters to provide such information during request that can be carried all the way to approval and provisioning processes. OIM also provides an out-of-the-box scheduled task for entitlement grant and revoke based on the start and end dates specified"
I've been searching on the documentation and doing tests on a virtual environment before a poc to a customer and can not find how to use that feature.
Is it an OotB feature or it needs codification and extra configuration?
Any tips on how to achieve this?

• OIM 11g: Event Handler "Data Object"

Is there any way in the OIM 11g Users event handler model (pre-insert) to get a "data object" type structure of the column names and values which will be inserted into the database (i.e USR_FIRST_NAME = "John"). This would be similar to what the legacy 9.1x event handler model provided via the getDataObject() method.
I know how to get the data from the orchestration parameters, but for our requirements we need the data to be keyed by database column name ("USR_FIRST_NAME") and not field name as in the orchestration params ("First Name").
OIM must do this conversion at some point (field name -> database column name). Can we somehow leverage this same function?
Thanks.

You can accomplish through if statements in your event handler to check for the attributes that determine the logic. For example, if your user's last name changes, you can check the orchestration.getParameters() to see if it contains a key for "UserManagerConstants.AttributeName.LAST_NAME.getId()" and if it does, then perform your logic to update the user.
You could also come up with a lookup that can be referenced for these and have your own custom java code that outputs information based on the values in the lookup. Just think creatively and anything is possible.
Or you can get a connection to the database, and have a constants file that translates the metadata names back to database fields and continue to use your existing code.
Lots of options.

• DATE Format Error in ODI-11g(11.1.1.3)

I am using ETL transformations in ODI-11g. There's a dominant issue regarding date formattings when I map an ODI variable (storing date) with a TGT column(datatype=date) mappings.
In all the src-tgt mappings I am formatting the date by using TO_DATE() functions. But still getting the error:
"ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string".
A point to Note: The same ETL in other env are ruuning fine but in my new dev env it's giving this date error.
I had checked with the DBA folks and they confirmed they set equal DATE settings in all the env.
The ODI Variable is defined as an "Alphanumeric".
Tx Used: #BUSINESS_CURRENT_DT=TO_DATE('Date','YYYY-MM-DD')
Require some urgent advice...Please let me know

Hi,
W store name-value pair in the Control table from where we exctract our data. Both (param name and param value) are varchars.
Well this looks pretty strange in 11g! Here's what we found out...
If you are trying to retrieve a date variable by using TO_DATE() in the refresh query the ODI Java driver (JDK 1.6) would call java.sql.timestamp and gracefully attach HH:MI:SS.NS along with the date (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS.NS). My target ia a date always..!
So, when I do: TO_DATE('20101010','YYYY-MM-DD) in the refresh query ODI stores it as '2010-10-10 00:00:00.0'
For this the Load always fails as Oracle would not be able to interpret a timestamp by suing TO_DATE()
The Java driver does this damage. However, it may be wise to store as a timestamp rather as a date if in case u do a Data capture and want the exact time credentials.
Unfortunately not a req, as of now for us so I had to chop-off the timestamp..!
Let me know if you find any other details...
Thanks.!

• Importing oim 9.1 exported data to oim 11g?

Hello,
I just read a few recent threads on upgrading from 9.1 to 11g... It sounds like there isn't a path to 11g at the moment.
But has anyone tried exporting oim 9.1 data and using oim 11g Deployment Manager to import the 9.1 exported data in?
We've invested about 4 man years in our current oim 9.1 solution. Just can't affort to throw too many things away!
Appreciate any feedback.
Thanks and cheers,
Luke

For the time being, stick with what works. Right nows the approval process form 10g does not exist in 11g so it cannot be migrated. There are a few other changes such as event handlers and entity adapters and pre-populate adapters and i'm sure many more. Wait for 11g to mature a bit more and provide the path you need to upgrade. Your implementation will not end with the current state, just don't be in a hurry to move forward to the 11g version. And remember, if it isn't broken, don't fix it. Unless you are in dire need of the functionality that 11g is going to give over 10g, then stay where you are at for the time being.
