OIM 9.1 to 11g

Hi ,
Currently we have OIM 9.1 installed. The DB used is oracle and running on weblogic.
Could some one help with the steps to be followed to get the app upgraded to 11 g ?

As far as i know, there is a release planned which provides an upgrade path from 9.1.0.2 to 11g. Expecting it this year but no confirmed news. please check with Oracle Support or Product Management team.

When I checked for the user in target db under dba_users user is not present. Please help me out. And suggest me what is the post deployment results.

Are you able to see the (database entitlements and roles) in catalog by using this version of DBUM connector?
we do see the entitlements and roles/privileages populating in ent_list table but NOT in catalog table.

Error while initializing OIM API in 11G

I am trying to deploy a webservice exposing some of the OIM API's in 11G[11.1.1.5]. I am using the OIMClient API to initialize the API's. The following code works fine when I run with in the eclipse but doesnt work when it is deployed on the weblogic server[10.3.5]. This is a standalone server where no other web app is deployed. Has anyone faced this issue before. Any pointers on this would be helpful. Thnaks in advance.

1) please ensure that the war file which you deploy in WLS is pointing to the authwl.conf file on the machine hosting the war.
2) apart from that make sure you have the following jars added to the calss path or added to the lib folder of the war.
commons-logging-1.1.1.jar;
oimclient.jar;
spring.jar
try removing extra libraries and jars from the war file. it sometimes give errors.
i have done exactly the same thing and it works fine.

Trying to deploy OIM on WebLogic 11g

I'm trying to deploy OIM into a WebLogic 11g server (specifically, Oracle Internet Directory) running on RedHat 64 bit.
The purpose of this is to support a Discoverer deployment.
When trying to install Oracle Internet Directory, I am stuck on the screen where it asks you for the Realm. (NOTE: I am trying to deploy OIM into a new domain on the WebLogic server).
I have tried tying different things in here, like 'myrealm' or 'dc=myrealm' or 'dc=us,dc=Acme,dc=com', and I keep getting errors:
INST-5165: Error in validating Realm.
INST-07037: text field value contains one or more invalid characters or the value is not in proper format.
What should I be typing in here? I'm stuck...

1.) Which version of OIM did you use to interact with weblogic application server 10.3.1 ?

Also can we upgrade from weblogic application server 10.3 to 10.3.1(11gR1) ?
Or
We just have to install the weblogic application server 11gR1 separately itself irrespective of 10.3(10gR3) ?

OIM 11g R2: Organization UDFs problem

Hi all,
I tried to create an UDF NOT for User entity but for Organization entity.
In my environment OIM is installed in 11g R2 version (11.1.2.0.0).
I'm not completely new about this activity with this OIM version because I created some UDFs for User entity also and all of them work fine.
To customize the Organization entity, I followed Oracle documentation fitting it for Organization entity instead User one, but I get an error.
Here high-level steps that I've done:
1. created and activated a sandbox
2. looked for Organization form
3. modified it adding MyCustomField
4. opened Create Organization Form
5. customized it adding MyCustomFild
6. created a new organization MyTestOrg
Note: for steps 1, 2, 3 I followed this document http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/admin.1112/e27149/customattr.htm#CHDDIGCI, while for steps 4 and 5 this one http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/admin.1112/e27149/customattr.htm#BABGDEIC
Once I created the new Organization I checked the result, but closing and opening again MyTestOrg details, my custom field is empty.
I also checked at database side and I noticed that the value specified for MyCustmField of MyTestOrg was saved to Xellerate Users default organization.
I executed this test for four times with the same result.
To verifiy this behaviour, I've done the following test:
1. at database side, I manually updated MyCustomField for MyTestOrg
2. at database side, I manually updated MyCustomField for Xellerate Users default org
Once executed the first test, I verified that using OIM web interface the value specified does not appear in any organizations.
While once executed the second test, I verified that the value specified appear in all of the organizations. It's seams that Xellerate Users organization modification is spawned for all organizations.
It sounds like a bug.....

Step 12, add the following:
For Organizations (includes create and modify organization), select Data Component - Organization
Step 13 - we need to mention all the VOs that they're supposed to select based on selection they made in Step 12. We need to add the following: For View User Details, select UserVO1
For Create User, select userVO
For Modify User, select userVO
For Manage Roles (create / modify role), select RoleDetailsVO
For Organizations (create / modify organization), select EditOrgVO
Step 18b - the EL provided only works for user page. On other pages they're
basically supposed to copy the EL of valueChangeListener property from any
other existing field on the form.With this suggestions, the initial problem was resolved, but a strange behaviour still occurs.
Infact, after the new organization creation (with UDF field valorized), if I try to modify the value for custom field MyCustomFiled (for example from "MyCustomValue_2" to "MyCustomValue_1"), the button Apply remain inactive (so I can't save the modification - see screenshot "inactive-apply-button.png"). It become active only if I modify a standard field also (for example Organization Name or Type).
About this last problem, the support needs to check it.
I'm waiting an answer.

We even modified ua.bat file to take the above path but no result.
How to resolve the issue?

How to read the contents from the provisioning jar file in 11g

Hi All,
I am new to OIM 11g, can anyone please let me know the process of reading the existing jar.
Actually What I am trying to do is:
1. I created one process task and added one task 2. Created adapter variables 3. Create java task and select the method.
Here I am seeing jar name as javatasks.jar:icf-oim-intg.jar.
method name as public.java.lang.string oracle.iam.connectors.icfcommon.prov.ICProvisoningManager.createObject(java.lang.object).
I would like to see internal code of that jar files(means need to know how they are handling proviosoing).
but I searched in all folders I could't able to find that jar. can any one please let me know how to find the icf-oim-intg.jar in 11g.

Hi Experts,
I want to understand what should be the very base IDM 11g Product should satisfy majority of client requirement. What is best Practices of Product combination one should have ?
1) OIM, OID, OVD, OAM and OIF 11g
2) OIM, OID, OVD, OAM 11g
3)OIM, OID, OVD and OIA 11g
Considering 11g & best pratices.
I would like to understand what Pack is must for what kind of requirement ?
There are so many product combination so confused what is best base Security Prodcut combination can be ?

I have one more question,
Now to do the OIM,OID,OVD,OAM Security Stack Installaton,
can I use two VM 1) all security product (OIM,OID,OVD,OAM) 2) DB VM (I heard we do have database VM)
Could you mind sharing Info 1) what number of VM do I use for security Product Installation 2) Can I use DB VM or Database should be installed physically not on VM ?
Thoughts ?

OIM upgrade question

What is the purpose of using upgrade assistant to upgrade OIM Middle tier?
What this upgrade OIM Middle tier task will do?
Pls assist.

upgrade middle tier performs following tasks:
- Upgrades OIM 9i components ti 11g
- Loads all jars (except event handlers) into database OIMHOME_JARS table
- Performs adapter up gradations
- All formmetadata.xml components are converted to equivalent 11g configurations
- Implements MDS configurations of 9i into 11g MDS database
- Performs SOA configurations
Overall upgrade is two stage process:
- Database schema upgrade
- Middle tier upgrade (components of OIM upgraded)

Error while Approving the human Task

Hello Experts,
I’m working for a system integration IDM (Identity and Access Management) project wherein we have integrated Oracle SOA suite 11g with OIM (oracle identity manager 11g) to provide approval workflows. The approval requests are raised in OIM and OIM invokes a SOA composite to route the approval to various human actors.
I have created a SOA composite where in the 1st level approver is manager and second level approval is a role . When i raise the request the task is assigned to the manager and manager approves it . Then the task is assigned to the Role . However the issue is , when any member of the Role tries to approve the task , the below error is thrown . Please note he is able to reject the request though , only in case of approving i see the below error .
Though it shows in the logs as warning but on the approval UI (Oracle Identity Manager UI ) , it throws an error . ie ."An Error Occured "
Any clues Pls !

Reconciilation from database table

Hi I have to reconcile data from database table. I am using OIM 10g and Oracle 11g R2.
I have created one GTC for Database Tables. And able to run th scheduled task for it.
Table name: recondb
there is one record present in table.but i saw on OIM server log it says no records.

Need clarity on metadata column code

Hi,
I am very new to OIM. Can anyone help me to get clear on metadata column code and physical column name?
Ex: USR_DISABLED Users.Disable User
Can we use either of the above to get the relevant data from tcResultSet.?
Do we have metadata column code for user defined fields?

You can use either for default OIM fields but for user defined fields, names in database table are used. In case of confusions, use database column names.

Thanks for the reply. As suggested by you I have assigned the default value as 0 for all the checkbox type in form designer for AD User form but still I am getting the same error while provisioning the AD resource.

I am trying to do this for EBS Responsibility resource and this resource has a request dataset has EBS-IT-Resource-Instance, application name, responsibility name, start date and security group. Please note application name, responsibility name, start date and security group are in child form.
I am trying to populate the request dataset using the below code.

My code is working fine and a request is getting created. But when I try to open the request dataset(object form) for the newly created request, I am getting null exceptions.
If I did not populate the fields that are in the child form application name, responsibility name and security group which are highlighted above, then I am able to view the form with the correct IT-Resource-Instance name after request creation.
So, I am thinking I am doing something wrong while populating child form data in the request dataset.
Can you please provide me some code snippet to populate the child using 11G API'S?
